Everybody had a fairly positive attitude and they were easy to work with, but there were quite a few issues with their job: -Lost items multiple times -Damaged multiple parts of our house that had just been remodeled. (eventually did get these fixed) -damaged furniture -Left us hanging for an entire weekend without furniture -moved items that they had been told at least three times not to bring -Forgot items that they had been clearly told to bring - they needed a lot of handholding It seemed like they did the minimum possible when it was near quitting time. I thought this company was good and they tried to help fix the situations that was created by their staff, but the movers stole many things, money, and my mother's jewelry that was her mother's. Once they were paid, they were not responsive anymore and didn't care to answer any of my questions or concerns. They took things that could never be replaced. It's heart breaking. If you've had to deal with a water slab leak, then you'll understand my sentiment when I say that I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. When this first happened almost two weeks ago, I felt so stressed because this was my first time experiencing something like this, I didn't know where to turn, I didn't know what I needed to do, and I knew that I would incur some financial hardship. Since I was new to this type of ordeal, I didn't realize there were companies who specialized in helping you traverse the myriad of things you have to worry about. One of those companies was Simply Contents. Simply Contents specializes in packing out your household goods whenever you encounter water or fire damage. I'm sure they also handle other disaster related circumstances, but I was only concerned about my water damage issue. Simply Contents is based out of Chula Vista and from my conversation with the employees, they also have operations in Seattle and are looking to branch out to other major cities. The company has been in business for approximately 4 years. The mitigation company I've been working with, American Response Team, recommended Simply Contents to pack all of our living room items, furniture, and a good amount of our dining room area. Simply Contents was responsible for protecting our furniture, wrapping fragile items, and placing everything into boxes that warranted boxes. They're also responsible for coordinating with a metal storage pod company to store our items and furniture while the work is being done. Not only do they take everything out of our house, store it in the pod, then take everything out of the pod, and when the work is done, everything is put back in the same manner they initially found it. Simply Contents IS the company I would recommend if you ever require their type of service. The entire team I worked with, Tee, Jason, and Carlos were professionalism personified. I believe Tee was the Team Leader and he was so helpful and put me at ease with what needed to be done. All three gentlemen were friendly and really cool guys to talk to. Just from my experience with this team, it's obvious Simply Contents places outstanding customer service as an emphasis with their employees. These employees were diligent, were very careful with my breakables, and made sure our bulky and heavy furniture were carefully placed into the pod. Tee served as an example and his team followed suit by respectfully addressing me even though I said they could call me by my first name. I really enjoyed talking with all three of them and in our conversations, they learned I was a U.S. Army Veteran. I really appreciated them thanking me for my service while they were working at my house. As I said earlier, I would not wish this water slab leak on my worst enemy. Hello Mr. Rodgers, We have been using your service the past few weeks as we have been repairing water damage in our home. Today your crew came to our home (Chuck and Linda Floto at 1747 Avenida Alta Mira, Oceanside, CA 92056) and unloaded the pod and restored our home. I can't say enough about how much we were impressed with the skill and professionalism of your guys. Here are a few things that I observed: On the way to our home they stopped at Home Depot and picked up furniture glides, knowing that we just had new wood floors installed. A huge group of guys showed up. Everyone wore shoe coverings and masks. They took extreme care to protect our new flooring. It looks great! At one point they used our Swifer to clean the floor and insure they were not scratching it. They carefully replaced the items my wife loves to display in our buffet and cabinet. I recently had the misfortune to have a fire in my garage resulting in considerable loss and damage to the contents of the garage as well smoke and soot damage to the contents of the rest of my home. To say the insurance claims process and the vetting of contractors is a daunting undertaking would be a gross understatement. For the purpose of this review I would like to highlight my experience with the Contents Contractor I chose, and more specifically, Simply Contents LLC of Chula Vista, CA. Everything was simply seamless from start to finish, from the first phone call through the actual packout, inventory, storage and follow-up. The Simply Contents, LLC Team consisting of the General Manager, Nick, the Work Crew (Jovany, Darius, Adrian and Jamie) and Office Personnel ( Kristy, Gabby, Daniel and Josh) set a positive tone from start to finish. They are true professionals in every respect and their customer service and attention to detail are deserving of special recognition! My wife and I were engaged with them from the moment they arrived! They went above and beyond in every facet of the contents portion of our restoration project, and far exceeded our highest expectations! To put it very simply I can't recall ever having a better customer service experience! The Yelp rating system of 5 Stars does not even begin to recognize people of their caliber! I personally would give them at least 6 Stars and better yet, 10 out of 10 if it were possible! This company was recommended by my insurance company after I had some flooding in my kitchen. The Project Manager Victor came out promptly and arranged for all my kitchen items to be taken away for storage while my kitchen was repaired. They were incredibly efficient and the team worked quickly to shuttle my items away. After my kitchen was finished I called their office and they promptly scheduled for my things to be returned. The team of Tee, Julio and Craig contacted me before heading to my home and they quickly unloaded and offered to unbox my items. What a scam. Insurance paid them 40 hours to pack and store property (in a pod at our home) involved in water damage and an additional 30 hours to return the property to the house after repairs were made. They were at our house for less than 3 hours (a crew of 5 so 15 hours total) and not only are they refusing to refund any of the 40 hours of labor from the date they arrived (which is totally fine - I can see them trying to milk travel time) they are also refunding only half of the 30 hours they DID NOT even work to return everything to the house! We emptied the pod ourselves and they didn't come bank to the property at all. You want to know why insurance premiums are so high? It's because of scammers like simply contents! They inflate invoices and don't perform the work and refuse to return the money they didn't earn. read more

I was told that a POD would be provided. It was not. Ultimately this caused my vintage car to sit outside in the hot sun for 5+ months as my "contents" and furniture that they couldn't cram into the living room were taken to the garage. An antique table was just set down, not covered in any way. They packed stuff properly for the most part. When they packed the pantry they did NOT close or seal the boxes. Much of my food was ruined. Many of the larger boxes were basically empty - I unpacked one box that had nothing but hand soap bottles (about 6 inches high each) and 2 jars of baby food. No packing material. Another box the same size had a piece of insulation (why?), some cat blankets and nothing else. MANY of the larger boxes had less than 10 vertical inches of "stuff" and weighed literally nothing. I'm sure I was way overcharged for boxes. They sent 3 people to move all my appliances. The majority of appliances ended up in the garage, granted they were marginally covered. They were not timely. One visit was 1 day and 2 hours later than they said they were coming. Their first visit half the personnel were outside "smokin' and jokin'" (Granted it was vaping but still). I was told there was a supervisor there,but I certainly never saw one. I don't mind folks taking a break but these folks were constantly on break. I am still waiting for the itemized invoice I requested. They quoted me a price for their services, then said they needed 1/2 up front and the other half upon completion. I requested 2 checks from my back for this in the amounts given. Then they DEMANDED "before we will talk with you" a MUCH larger amount than the original half quoted THIS INSTANT by credit card. I didn't mind the credit card as long as they didn't attempt to add the 3% surcharge for use. BUT I minded their attitude, and the fact that the "lady" said she didn't know who told me those amounts blah blah blah. I have a grandfather clock that was professionally packed and moved. The gentleman that did that said that NO ONE else should move it. Guess what those jokers did, they moved it AND left it smack in the hallway. I wrote to Simply Contents and requested the information on the clock mover. To date I have not had a reply. I took care of the matter on my own AND I found out that he had NOT been paid by Simply Contents. I paid him personally for moving the clock back into position. NOTE: the clock was damaged due to the fact that Simply Contents personnel moved it. The repair is over $1000. My ruggable rugs were not properly "packed" i.e they were NOT separated from the base and they were NOT rolled. All 3 rugs were wadded up, "folded" and refolded. They are permanently damaged. When it became necessary to move stuff to the garage they showed up WITHOUT a cart or a dolly. Mind you the garage is a football field away from the house, uphill. In addition they did not have ANY packing materials such as boxes, paper or tape for the additional contents in the dining room. When I queried them about this lack they said well it would be "a couple of hours" for them to go back and get the items and acted like I was a jerk for asking them. I moved all that myself to my living room. Luckily I had both a cart and a dolly they could use. I am not pleased with this company's attitude or work ethic. They were so terrible that I chose to NOT have them come back to move my things back into my house. I did it myself. I used my own dumpster to throw away the packing materials that I didn't recycle. read more

Recently we had leak, and had to replace flooring throughout the house. Ricky and his team stepped up in getting us packed out. They worked probably a 11hrs straight to get us packed out and keep construction on schedule. When construction was done, Jaime and his team had all of our stuff back in our home in less than half a day, which is especially amazing right before the holidays. Everything was returned just as they had packed it. Both Ricky and Jaime we courteous and respectful of all our property. They worked with us discussing any concerns and kept in close contact with us throughout both days. My mom's house flooded a year ago and I wanted leave a review about Simply Contents and their service. Initially our insurance had sent out a different company to come provide a quote. That company tried to pressure me into rushing everything before I could even think about what was happening. Then a friend told me about Simply Contents and what they do and how they could help. Manny came out and provided a quote to me and my insurance. He was very professional and courteous and I didn't feel pressured at all, unlike with the other company. Then they came and packed up all our stuff and placed it in storage. They were efficient and took very good care of our contents. I believe Jacob was the lead project manager on our job. He walked us through the whole process as they worked on packing up our contents. Overall he made sure we were in the loop while the project progressed. Once the restoration company finished restoring our home, Simply Contents brought all our stuff back! They even helped me rearrange some furniture that we never really got around to. This was our very first flood and it was so stressful when we came home to a flood. All that stress seemed to go away when Simply Contents came in and helped with the flood! First of all, the good. The crew from the Kent, WA location was very efficient in their pack out of our basement. All they had to do was move some furniture out of two rooms into a storage container. A crew of two people got it done in about an hour. Similar with the "pack in" -- the crew of 4 this time were in and out in 20 minutes. Now for the not so good. It took multiple calls/requests to get the right person who could schedule the crew in to move our furniture out of the storage unit, and it was about 3 weeks before we actually got the right person who could make it happen. All this time I am unable to access my driveway or my garage due to the completely unnecessary storage pod taking up space; something I never asked for in the first place. And for the truly bad ... billing. I don't know if this was an anomaly, or if it was because they were dealing with an insurance company, but how they billed for this service should be criminal. It certainly feels like insurance fraud. The "pack out" service I described above? They billed for a crew of 4 for 6 hours, including a whole lot of things they never did, including packing and sorting of boxes, and shrink wrapping items. Similar for the "pack in" -- billed for 4 hours for something that took them 20 minutes. Then the team lead mentioned they would be billing USAA again for those "pack in" services that they had already charged (and been paid) for. read more

I only had about 5 minutes to show them what I needed done before I had to jump into a meeting and when I was done, everything was completed perfectly as asked. My complaint is not about Simply Contents' service. It is about the accounting department. I had a 5 room flood in my home in August, 2020. Simply Contents did the pack out, storage and 9 months later--they brought my things out of storage and delivered them to my home. I was covered by First American Property and Casualty Insurance Company and they paid for Simply Contents' services. What still needed to be done was the abatement of the rest of the house which the insurance company had approved. Simply Contents provided an estimate for the work. Before the work was scheduled to be done, the insurance company sent the 18K check to Simply Contents. The check was made out to me as the policy holder and was not endorsed over to Simply Contents-- but the company deposited it anyway which was before they were hired for the job and before the work had begun or had been completed. I decided not to use Simply Contents for the abatement work. On June 6, 2021, my insurance adjuster contacted the company and told them to send the check to me. They delayed and it took over 2 weeks for them to mail me the check. It is illegal to deposit a check that has not be endorsed or before a firm has secured the job. It is unbusinesslike for a firm to be paid in full before they have secured the job and before the work has been done. Our home was flooded a couple of months ago and we used simply contents to pack and remove all of our belongings and furniture downstairs. The company was quick, professional, and clean. Our items were stored at a facility for several weeks and then brought back to our home in great condition. Items were placed back where they were originally positioned and all small items were left in boxes for us to organize (a request we made). Tee was our main contact throughout this process.
