They told me they would give me a refund within 3-4 days and a courtesy facial. I never got the refund, and they stopped responding to my texts. I had to take it up with my credit card company, which issued me the refund after an investigation. I also never got a courtesy facial. Totally unacceptable. Watch out for this shady business! Terrible experience - DO NOT GO HERE. I booked a massage for my wife as a surprise for her birthday, and paid in advance. Two hours before the appointment, they text me saying their technician is "experiencing an emergency", and asking if we can reschedule to later that day or the next. Not ideal, but hey, emergencies happen, no big deal. Rescheduling didn't work for us, so we agreed to a refund. It's now been TWO MONTHS and no refund, despite my repeated calls and text messages. She has completely stopped returning my messages or calls. At one point I called from a different number, pretending to want to book a treatment, just to get her on the phone. She apologized, promised me she was processing my refund, and said the first one didn't go through due to some mistake she had made on her end. Weeks later, and still nothing. She clearly has no intent on refunding my money, so I guess the next step is small claims court? What a disaster. STAY AWAY. read more

I came here yesterday for a facial and brow wax. The facial was great! I would recommend their facial services, but not getting their eyebrow waxed or any other body parts. There is a layer of my skin that got waxed off under my eyebrow. I thought it might just be a reaction and skin sensitivity since my skin typically gets red during waxing, but the next day the mark got even darker until I realized some of my skin got peeled off. This business has engaged in outright theft. In July, Simply Gorgeous Day Spa charged my credit card without my consent or any appointment on record. The only time I had ever been there was more than a year ago -- yet somehow, they still had my card information on file and decided to run a completely random charge. When I brought this up, the owner pretended to want to resolve the issue and even promised a refund. But instead of following through, she stopped answering calls, ignored all messages, and eventually cut off any form of communication. That shows there was never any real intention to make this right. What makes this worse is that after looking into other reviews, I realized I am not the only person this has happened to. This isn't some one-time error -- this looks like a deliberate, repeated practice of fraud. If a business is willing to dig up old credit card details and process charges without permission, that is not only unethical, it is criminal behavior. Montclair does not deserve a business that preys on its community like this. I was visiting with my bestie and suggested we go and get colon hydrotherapy. She recommended going to Marina at Simply Gorgeous Day Spa. Sounded great to me so we made appointments. Upon meeting Marina, I was immediately drawn to her personable warm sweet spirit. She made me feel very comfortable. She clearly explained what I needed to do and ensured I was comfortable. She also let me know she would check in with me and if I needed any assistance I could call for her. I actually did need some assistance and when she helped me she was very professional and made sure I was comfortable with the adjustment. My friend went after me. I was feeling great. However, I was in need a nap because my friend and I had stayed up super late the night before so my eyes felt like they had bricks on them. I was sitting on the sofa waiting for my friend nodding badly. Marina noticed and she was so sweet and encouraged me to relax by laying down on the sofa. She even gave me a blanket! That's all I needed to quickly fall asleep. I greatly appreciated that gesture. I can't recommend Marina's colon hydrotherapy service enough. I'm sure you too will appreciate her professionalism and warm caring personality. I wish I lived there so I could put her on a regular rotation and try more of her services. I love Marina at Simply Gorgeous Day Spa! She is so warm and friendly and very client-focused. I've bought colonic and wax packages with her, and I couldn't be happier. They're very affordable and it's easy to schedule with her. She's very accommodating schedule-wise, I usually opt for an evening appointment. The colonic room is clean, always smells great, and it's nice and warm in there which is great as the machine uses cool water. I always run cold, but the cool water doesn't bother me probably because the room is nice and warm, and there's a great heating pad I love using. If I don't use the heating pad I can do red light therapy, which is great. It's also very easy to park close by. read more

Like someone else mentioned in the reviews, it does feel like never ending diarrhea.... This place is located on the left side of Peet's Coffee. You will see some stairs leading up to a few small storefront. The night before, Karina texted me letting me know that I shouldn't eat anything a few hours prior to the visit. My appointment was at 9AM and she said that coffee was ok to have before the visit. Upon arrival, Karina introduced herself and the whole procedure; what to do, what to expect, and some common feelings when the tube is up your booty. I was a little intimidated at first because this was all new to me. Don't worry guys, it's a veryyyyy thin tube that goes up your booty, lube was provided. During the session, you are provided a thin blanket and a heating pad to help with the slight cramping. The whole process took about an hour long. Go on TikTok or watch the fishes swim around on the tv screen to get your mind of the sound or slight discomfort. In the end, Karina let me know that the water might slip out of your booty hole which is completely normal. She evaluated my stool stating what I am looking at. Overall a great process. I don't know if I'd be back again so soon...I'll probably do this every few months. :-) read more

Met her & felt immediately embraced with a good experience she was very hands on she explained everything step by step she helped me understand the process I initially started colon hydrotherapy then after I did wraps teeth whitening combo services etc. I have referred so many women to this establishment because of Svetlana energy. Life happened and she downsized but the experience was still 5 star you were welcomed she still explained & you felt your money being worth the experience. Now for me I'm very overdue when it comes to treating myself and I sometimes look forward to having a me time moment so booking my appointment I just knew this was something I very much needed. Now the last woman I referred I spoke highly about this company she booked to experience herself . now I hadn't been since 2017 & when I seen the prices went from $65 to $75 to now $95 dollars okay life right . But when she gave me her feedback I just couldn't understand why she didn't have much to say all she said was girl it wasn't nothing like you described. So moving along with today I booked my appointment 12/24/24 I seen she had 12/26/24 available I paid and here's why I left 30 mins before my session was over. They're kind of hard to find, so to save you some trouble: Take the stairs to the left of the Peet's. Walk up the stairs and it will be the last door on the left. I was surprised to see that the space was so small. The massage room itself was pretty cramp and they didn't do a good job soundproofing because I heard a lot of noise from outside during my massage. Not enough to be a major distraction... just pockets of noise. Still annoying for a $85 massage (plus tip). They're nice and accepted my expired groupon without any fuss (which is supposed to be the norm... the deals expire, but you can still put the amount you paid toward the service), but the reason for 3 instead of 4 stars: during the massage, someone's droid text alert went off... twice. It wasn't my phone and I'm 97% sure it was in the room. Hmmm. My masseuse Tiffany was nice, but I commented afterward that the stones weren't that hot (I chose the hot stone massage). She said she had just had a client who said it was too hot so she toned it down for me, her next client. I would have preferred if she had asked me instead of making assumptions. The massage itself was ok. Again, could have been 4 stars. If it weren't so expensive, maybe 5 stars. They gave me water and I still tipped her about 16-17%. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I must say the talk and buzz between all my friends these days are all about Bikini waxes!!! Being a Bikini wax virgin I never pay them any mind because I can't even get my eyebrows and lip waxed without shedding a tear and I've been doing them for years!!! I finally decided Sandra...time to be a WOMAN and get with the times and loose the razor. Mind you...I love Veet and used it down there and left it on for like 5 minutes and I kid you not, it burned the crap out of me. I had a layer of flesh missing when I removed the Veet. I decided ohhh no, no more Veet. I never get the feel I want w/the razor and I always tend to get more bumps w/the razor. So I finally with the help of my friends talked myself into getting a Bikini wax. After much research I found Simply Gorgeous and it appeared my Yelp family loved Svetlana and the blue wax. So of course being that Yelp is the new God I figured I was in good hands. Friday night at 6pm was my appointment. I got to the place about 15mins late due to sooooo much traffic and of course me getting lost. OMG...was this place hard to find in the dark. Svetlana was a doll!!!! She talked me through the whole ordeal. Gave me some breathing techniques and was soooo professional. Being that that was my first time I was soooo nervous. I have never been in such compromising positions w/a female that close EVER in my life. Not even my GYN has ever seen me that close to me. OMG...that was the worst pain I had ever experienced my entire life. Pride wouldn't let me run outta there naked or fart. LOL. Between the ripping off of the hair and the heat of the wax I thought I was going to die. After it was all said and done I realized the pain was not that bad and the outcome was Simply Gorgeous!!!!! The facial by Amber was probably the best part of the experience. She did a good job and my skin was actually glowing. The massage was horrible. I can't remember the guy's name but I would never go back to Simply Gorgeous if I had to get a massage by that guy. My back was sore for 3 days afterward. The worst part was he had a large stomach and every time he moved around the massage table his stomach rubbed against my head. VERY GROSS!!! The Mani/pedi left a lot to be desired. It took way too long, at least 45 minutes and I didn't get my feet or hands soaked. The sink in the bathroom near the reception area was filthy. She uses Cirepil Blue Hard Wax which is the only wax that Iam comfortable being waxed with. I hate being waxed with the sticky strip wax. Svetlana's very fast and clean. The search for an actual day spa still continues! I tried this place out since I was looking for a new massage therapist in a more spa like environment. This isn't really a day spa. I used to work in one in Marin so day spa to me includes comfy robe, slippers, sauna, etc. This place is not that. The location is a little difficult to find if you're not familiar. It's cute...and an older building so I could hear everything during my service. I arrived only 3 minutes early, my fault, I know. I usually arrive 15min early to any service but my baby was crying etc yada yada. We started pretty quickly which was good. My massage was ok. It could've been better. Her technique was ok but definitely a hiccup in fluidity. It was a little all over the place. Another thing, her nails were a little too long...I could feel them digging in when she tried to work the kinks near my shoulders...ouch! Lastly, she finished 5 minutes early. Pretty sure I paid for a 60min massage...not a 50...or 55. Not cool. And just to clarify, I arrived at 2:57, she started at 3:03 and ended at 3:55. My fault for starting late but it should've ended at 4. Really sucks too, I usually get a massage once a month and was looking for my new go place...unfortunately, this place was not it. read more

So this is my first Yelp! Review and I am going to try and do Simply Gorgeous Day Spa justice. I have never had my hoo haa/flower pot/vah jay jay (okay you get the idea) waxed in my whole 26 years of living. (I know! Where have I been?!) But I suddenly decided "hey why not?!" I only knew one of my friends that had this service done but the salon she went to was not on my list of possible places to go; my other friends don't treat themselves to this "maintenance". After a week of research (through Yelp! of course) Simply Gorgeous had plenty of positive reviews for their waxing service. So I made an appointment for that weekend and they were able to fit me in. I met wit Svetlana (who is also the owner) and she was just sweet as pie. I told her it was my first time and she made sure she let me know what she was doing and gave me breathing techniques to help me get through the 'landscaping'. I must say it was virtually painless. She used this blue wax that hardens and it doesn't need a strip to pull it off. Don't get me wrong there were tiny moments of 'eeks' but I think I've had more painful reactions getting my upper lip waxed (no pun intended) (somewhere else of course). She remembered who I was on my second visit, one month later, and she even remembered our conversation we had the first time around. Can I say 'Customer Service'?! I just saw her today (almost one year later) and the service is still the same like it was on the first day. I'm looking forward to her other spa services like the shellac manicure and Simply Gorgeous massage, both of which I scheduled within the next week. (I will be writing back to tell you all about it.) The prices are reasonable especially with the awesome customer service from the time you walk in the door to when you leave. There is a parking garage around the corner and they do validate. I followed Svetlana to Simply Gorgeous Day Spa from her other location (at the time I didn't even know that it was going to be called that) because of her amazing ability to give you a "painless" Brazilian bikini wax! If she ever moves away, I might just have to follow her, wherever that may be. But ladies in the SF Bay area, we are safe! It looks like Svetlana is here to stay! She recently expanded her Day Spa and I had a very lovely manicure there (Thanks, Lily!). I've had the massage there by Alice, who has magic fingers (which included a Pumpkin body mask because it was Halloween) and Svetlana's facials are also out of this world (Definitely go for the custom facial and let Svetlana take care of you) She worked on my face and body before my wedding and I was quite happy with the results. She also recently expanded her spa and there are these amazing massage chairs in the manicure-pedicure room. I signed up for the "express mani" and in 30 minutes, I was completely relaxed. I was sitting in this massage chair, lavender eye pillow on my eyes, headphones in my ears (individual pink CD players for mani/pedi clients), and when I woke up, my nails were done! In addition to Simply Gorgeous being a 5 star spa, for all those ladies out there who are "curious" about getting a Brazilian or even just a bikini wax, just say "YES!" to Svetlana. I love Simply Gorgeous Day Spa! Svetlana, Tina, & Jessica have changed my life, REALLY! I started going to the spa per a recommendation from the Kinesiologist. I was pre-hypertensive with my BP consistantly at 139/84 for many months. The medication side effects were too damaging to my body, so I was left to find other means for management. I started working with a Kinesiologist. I was doing an 8 week long liver cleanse and my GI tract was suffering from all of the detox. I went in for my first colonic and Svetlana was great! She gives you all the information and leaves you in privacy to get the job done! I have now had 3 colonics in 3 months in addition to drinking tons of water and walking about 15 minutes per day and my BP is now 108/72. Colonics are sooooo good for you. In addition to the colonics, I decided to pamper myself. I got my eyelashes dyed for the first time in my life, and I will be going back routinely for this service, they look great. I got a gorgeous pedicure from Tina about 5 weeks ago and it *still* looks great. I splurged and got the shellac manicure. I love the shellac manicure so much that I went back again 2 weeks later and got another one. Tina is an artiste when it comes to the manicure, my nails look amazing. Per a promotion recently, I went in 2 Sundays ago for an hour long massage from Jessica. I will *definitely* be returning for another massage. Don't let me misguide you, this is a homey feeling spa. This place is not shee-shee, so you can be very comfortable in all respects. If you want a massage chair turned on when you are getting your eyelashes dyed or when you are getting a pedicure, just ask. Svetlana, the owner, along with all the girls that work at the spa are so sweet and helpful. They always offer you something to drink, a massage chair to relax in while you are waiting and you are always welcomed by, "Hello Gorgeous." The greeting alone makes most women fall in love with Simply Gorgeous. Every month Svetlana attends to my lady parts during my ritual waxing. She's VERY fast, pays attention to detail, and makes you feel comfortable. I have difficult hair. It's very curly, often frizzy and long down to the small of my back. Thankfully growing up, my mother was a trained beautician and she gave me every haircut until I grew up, moved out and had to find someone else to do my hair. I have tried some of the best places in NYC without any success, they just did not know how to do my hair. Like I said, it is not white girl straight, it is Puerto Rican crazy hair so they did not know how to handle it at all. Every time I went to a salon, I was left with a defeated stylist who would give up, throw my hair up in a ponytail and send me on my way....and then I found Elena! I first had some waxing done at Simply Gorgeous and was very happy with how nice the staff was and the work they did. I had an unexpected stay in the hospital for a few weeks and when I got out, I discovered the back of my hair to be in one huge matted knot unlike anything I had ever seen. It was just an impossible mess to undo and I was at a loss thinking I would have to cut all of my hair off and resort to the afro. So since I already liked the people at Simply Gorgeous, I went to them for help. Elena was my stylist and she got right to work trying her best to work out the knots. Her patience was impressive but after some time it was clear the knots would not yield. I was in tears waiting for her to give me the chop when she gave me some tissues, told me it would all be okay and then she worked her magic. She was able to cut out the knots without it being noticeable at all that all that hair was gone. Then she trimmed the rest as I had asked. It looked great, I was able to keep the length and I was so thrilled I went back for her to give me highlights. The highlights came out perfect, she knew exactly what she was doing and helped me pick out the best color for my hair. My hair takes color very quickly so she kind of had to keep applying and rinsing section by section. Again her patience was wonderful and she made the entire experience enjoyable. The best part was that she actually knew how to style my hair and for once I left a salon loving the way I looked! She gave me big beautiful banana curls and I just loved how soft my hair felt. I also bought a few of the products they sell there and are so happy with all my purchases. I highly recommend going to see Elena for all your salon needs. I took my girlfriend here for a mani -pedi (which turned out great!)...I didn't get anything done, but one of the ladies hooked up the massage chair for me while I waited two hours for my girlfriend...free of charge...which I thought was really nice...I needed it! Now, the woman who did the mani-pedi was...I don't know...under the weather maybe...but was really sullen and kind of seemed like she just wanted to get the job done...again, turned out great. At the end, she was a little more social and cracked a smirk/smile or two. There was another client that came in and seemed like she liked the "sullen woman"; chatting her up a little like she was a regular...noted... I would have given the place four stars if it wasn't for that DAMN door opening (cold) and slamming and the constant "outside voice" chatter. And I don't think everyone needs to know that an employee's mom is on the phone, especially if you feel the need to telegraph said announcement from across the room. The mani-pedi chairs share the same space as the reception area; I'm talking about ten feet of space here. I hope it was quieter for those getting a massage in the back. That bugged me a bit considering my girlfriend was under a soothing eye mask for relaxation, and that girl can fall asleep in a combat zone...but she noticed the noise. I wouldn't say it was toooo pricey, especially considering how well of a job she did...and she didn't cut back on time either! I'm not a big spender, nor do I have a unlimited budget; I'd say it was on point and would def go back........just hope I don't hear anything when I decide to go in for a massage.....ENJOY! Ok, let me first start by saying I was a bit skeptical when I read how "painless" the Brazilian waxing was here. I mean, come on... how those two words can even be in the same sentence... BUT I was totally amazed! Svetlana was wonderful. It was fast, thorough AND painless. I don't know how she did it but, it was the first Bwax I've ever received where my eyes didn't water and I wasn't laying there, all spread eagle, wondering WTF am I even doing! The place was clean. For my birthday, I received a SpaFinder gift certificate, so like any good yelper, I checked the list of participating spas on yelp, and decided to try Simply Gorgeous Day Spa. Upon arrival, I immediately noticed that there are 5 massage chairs in the check-in/lobby area. Talk about comfort while you wait! I booked a massage and facial. My massage was Simply Gorgeous massage (it was on their website, not the in-store brochure), which combined several techniques including hot stones. I found it quite effective. Then it was off to my facial, which was one of the best facials I ever got. The facial comes with an infrared treatment, which made me warm, toasty, and relaxed. Along with the facial, Svetlana gave me massage of the neck and shoulder area as well as my head. I am thrilled to have discovered this place. BTW, The nearby parking garage is free on Sundays, so it made my visit that much better not to have to worry about parking issues. read more

This place is great! As a guy, it's hard to find a place that you can go to for pampering. I've gotten a massage here before (on the house for being a dedicated customer) among other things. The prices here are competitive and the quality is superb. The workers are really nice. Parking is also never an issue as there's a lot a block away. They will also validate your ticket so you don't pay anything. read more
