Business owner asked me to watch YouTube!

I called up the company asking for their detection process for active leak. She says "just hire us, we work with hundred of businesses.. I am not going to explain to you how we do it. You have a great day!" Then, she hang up the call!!! Then Michael, the person responsible for their online review sent me the attached message "you can watch YouTube all day long.. if you like" Scary business practice. Don't hire this company

water leak could be easily seen after some digging.

I saw a spike in the water bill that led me to believe that there was a potential water leak somewhere. I searched for some obvious spots both indoor and outdoor but couldn't find anything. I ended up calling a local plumbing company "At Your Service" for help and they referred Simply Leak Detection service. I was able to arrange for Michael to come out for the inspection fairly quickly. When he arrived, he quickly went to work to find the leak in about an hour or so. Michael offered me to listen to his device for the water leak sound coming from the pipe (it sounded like air coming out from the water, like bubbling, which should have been quiet.) I scheduled plumbing service from "At Your Service" again for a repair and they found the water leak on the spot where Michael sprayed a giant "X" mark on it. The repair is done, called the public utility service for a leak adjustment, and I am very happy and impressed with Michael's service and knowledge from his years of experience. Highly recommended.

The leak was indeed right there over 5 feet deep

Counting the business owner, three plumbers came today. This time my initial request was to replace two faucets. The plumbers who came to give an estimate a week ago discovered that the cold water valve needed replacing. Notice must be given to building residents 3-4 days in advance of water shutoffs per my HOA rules. A few months after the first time I needed this plumbing company, a contractor working on remodeling my kitchen should have found the valve problem. But since he did not, the silver lining is the quality of the work by this company. I have complete faith that the replacement valve will work perfectly since they installed it. They showed me the plastic valve they replaced and how it would not turn at all. We all liked the faucets I chose for them to install. In the bathroom my glass waterfall faucet has LED lights to indicate cold, warm and hot water. After installing it the plumber showed me a video of the lights working before I went in to try it myself. The kitchen faucet is a Moen which looks nice to start with, and has some great functionality. As the handle is turned for the water the head floats down a little. Then it is possible to select an angle for the head to remain, for example 45 degrees. It will stay in the selected position while the water runs. The owner took a video for himself! Besides the top quality of the work, I appreciate the polite and respectful manners of the owner and all the plumbers.

It was a Saturday, so... not a great start to the weekend, and also, not a lot of (decent) plumbers available! Anyway, I posted a project on Yelp, and Homeservice Plumbers were fairly quick to respond after my other Project options (not to be named here) either demanded a phone number or made wishy-washy timing range options (which were not amenable to my schedule). Homeservice Plumbers was quick, to the point, and not pushy or demanding at all anytime I was talking to them. I scheduled for Tuesday between 12-2pm arrival, and Xavier, the first person who came out to see the problem, showed up in a timely manner (just before 12pm!) as he had another service call in the area. He was respectful of property (brought his own shoe coverings!) and was also pleasant to work with. Unfortunately he didn't have the tools, but he was the one to call in Nick who had the requisite tools for the job. He confirmed the service would be possible, and off he went. The next person, Nick was great to work with - he arrived promptly at 5pm (the quoted range was 3-5pm, which was perfectly reasonable), respected the property (brought his own shoe coverings, asked to use a small bowl to capture the grease drippings from the p-trap, and cleaned up after the work was done), and was able to provide a fair estimate for a high value of quality work. He finished by 6:30pm and confirmed the drain was working, and verbally confirmed (it's not on the invoice but I hope I never have issues again!) that there's a one year labour warranty - great deal! I never caught the phone "operators" name (my bad, she called me THRICE and I still never caught her name), but she was cordial, polite, and quickly handled my concerns for updates on when the plumber(s) would arrive. Scheduling through Yelp was simple and easy - and having no "service call" fee means there's no obligation to go through with anything you're not comfortable with. Anyway, short story (really) long: this company is on my list of "high quality work at a fair rate", because (1) they don't charge for service calls, which is a bold move in today's service-oriented environment, (2) they are reasonable with pricing given that I'd done some research beforehand, and (3) they verbally offered a warranty for their services, which means that they're willing to stand by the quality of their work. Call them today for your plumbing issues. Fair, honest, trustworthy service is hard to come by - the companies you see on the billboards aren't the only options in town!

I got a phone call in the morning at 8:26 saying they would be here in 20 minutes, I was still sleeping. Got out of bed and there was a knock at my door- 2 mins later! I was not prepared. He said they would be back between 2 and 4 to do the repair, they didn't get here until after 5 PM. I was severely overcharged. I was told I would just be charged for parts and labor. They charged me $250 for a $99 faucet, I looked it up. And charged me $500 for less than 20 minutes of labor. Obviously, the timeslots mean nothing to these people. And again, I feel like I was severely overcharged.

I'd like to say it all went perfectly smooth but, that would be wrong. there were some hiccups along the way. the A/C didn't play nice with our furnace. they did get it working correctly but, it took an extra day or maybe 2... I don't really recall. communication was excellent through the process and in the end, we were very happy with the work. fast forward a month or so and I officially decided I had enough of not enough outlets in the garage. I got a quote for several things at once (my bad... got serious sticker shock) but, my wife when she guessed at the price was dead on the spot. we had some (not all) of that work done and it was excellent. seriously happy with all of it. next, we got a call from some kind of scheduler so we could get a few things done as part of the [free] contract that was given to us since we had the A/C put in. they came out, flushed the water heater, inspected under the house, faucets, toilets (fixed how one flushes because he was there) and made some recommendations. most of what he was suggesting was serious upsell and I wanted none of that. there were 2 things that I would have agreed to but, we haven't had that done yet. the first item was some leaking outdoor faucets. should be simple and straight forward repair. the other, our dishwasher can create a stinky drain as it is not properly vented. this is where it got weird. we've got custom ONE PIECE counter tops and the part of it that has the sink is L-shaped and pushing 30 Feet long. he wanted to drill it to add the baffle to the drain for the dishwasher. I wasn't comfortable with that really expensive counter top being drilled and asked for some kind of alternative. he refused stating that code stated it HAS to go through the countertop. hum... I need to look into it and see if that's accurate. there were some other little things along that adventure that I didn't appreciate but, not important enough to write it out in this really long review. lastly and most importantly is why they still got a 5-star review from me in spite of that [what felt to me like a disastrous] plumbing adventure. when the 220V circuit was added to my garage I wasn't happy in the least. I called them up, expressed my concern and they made time to come out and look and also to talk to me about it. Need to be really clear that the work was not done in any way that could be even remotely unsafe, that wasn't the problem. they listened to what I had to say, understood my position and then they took care of it right on the spot even though it required removing and redoing the whole job. I can seriously get behind a company that will stand behind their work in this fashion. you could say it was kind of the same thing when the A/C didn't initially work. they didn't give up, and now we've got good A/C.

Harts arrived to diagnose a clogged kitchen sink drain. After snaking and scoping the drain line,…read morethe technician said our only option was to replace the drain line because it's old, galvanized pipe that poses a risk of rupture if they performed hydro-jetting. Accessing the drain line for replacement would require cutting into the ceiling of the bedroom below the kitchen sink. I discussed asbestos testing with technician because our home was built in 1967. Harts said they have a preferred vendor they use for asbestos testing and abatement, but that vendor did not contact us for two days. This is the point where Harts no longer tried to work towards a resolution. Wanting to get the use of our kitchen back, we hired another company to perform testing which did come back as positive for asbestos. We contacted a different plumbing company who put us in touch with their abatement vendor and the work was quoted and performed quickly. Testing and abatement cost us $2,441.60. Upon completion of the abatement, with the ceiling opened and the drain visible, it was obvious that it was not galvanized pipe, rather ABS plastic. The new plumbing company performed the hydro-jetting in about an hour at the cost of $2,110.57. The repair of our ceiling still needs to be completed and have been quoted upwards of $5,000 for that work. I have called Harts on multiple occasions over the last week in attempt to speak with someone about their diagnosis error. On 7/14/26, I finally received a call from a manager who watched the scope video and said he cannot even see the pipe material because it was so clogged. I asked why their technician would say it's galvanized pipe if the material is not even visible and he could not answer that question. He told me that he would have a conversation with the technician and get back to me this morning, but I have not received a call. We've given Harts ample time to respond and make this right.
