Every time I have had an issue that was "discovered" by an oil change facility or the like, I have then taken my car here and they give me the honest truth and an honest price. As a woman, I always feel like I have to be extra intentional about walking into an automotive shop to not be taken advantage of. When I took my jeep to Emmett Automotive, I knew what needed to be fixed on my car and what didn't need to be fixed, and they really came through. They did not try to oversell me things, or fix things that weren't broken or take out tail lights and say they needed to be replaced (yep, those have all happened to me!). Emmett Texaco is now Emmett Citgo, but the same address and operation. While I am not an Emmett customer, I picked up a co-worker from here this morning who was dropping off her car and asked about her choice, etc. She has used this service station for years, as had her father prior to that which was the recommendation that lead her to them initially. She reports fair service, fair pricing, a casual but professional staff (they are mechanics after all), and has had no problems in the past five years driving a ten year old car and having things done from time to time. I will say in picking her up this morning they were very nice people as well, which is why I looked up their yelp rating to read this review from long ago. I live in Franklin, but if I still lived in this area I'd be perfectly comfortable dropping off my vehicle for service. I just really try any time I see a business potentially getting an unfair reputation to inquire when possible. That's the yelp way, after all. read more

This is one of my favorite local businesses. Every employee is so kind, honest and helpful. They treat you like you are their next door neighbor of 20 years. They are typically about half the price of anywhere else, I think mostly because they're just honest people trying to help their neighbors. As a mom of 4 young children, it can be stressful and overwhelming to try to have my car worked on. But multiple times I've had them tell me they can fix my car on the spot in less than 30 minutes, and it's always with a smile. It's just so nice to have a local business that is honest and not trying to take advantage of you... especially in an industry that is notoriously doing that. I love this place. We have been using this shop for several years now. Don't let way the shop looks fool you. The guys who work there are sincerely nice and will spent the time explaining anything to you. They charge a fair price for the work they do. Recently a noise was coming from our back passenger side tire, so we brought it in for them to take a look. They called back about 2 hours later and told us the lug nuts were not tight enough, so they tightened them. They told us to come pick up the car and there would be no charge. I have never experienced such honesty from mechanics in my life. read more

Back when I first bought my car I brought it here to get everything checked out and some work done. They did the all the work that they said needed to be done. On the way home from here I noticed a piece on the floorboard that came from underneath the hood. It happened to be the metal strap that holds my battery in. The next morning my car wouldn't start (surprise surprise!). So I called them and they came out to my house, jumped my car, and took it back to their shop. They said I needed a new battery. So I paid for the new battery, the installation, and their trip out to my house. (grr !!.) A couple more days went by and my engine light started coming on. So I stopped back by their shop, they looked under the hood and said nothing was wrong. On my way home from there my car overheated. We got it home, looked under the hood, and found a tiny cut in a hose going from my radiator! I filled up my radiator with anti freeze, drove down to napa auto parts, bought the $3 piece to fix it myself, and found a new mechanic! I may be a girl and not know too much about cars but I am not stupid! read more

My parents, brothers and I have been taking our cars to Emmett for 20 years. They have always done honest, reliable work for us, we've never felt jacked around or lied to, and they have always gone the extra mile for us. The other review on here about getting such terrible service must have been a fluke or one bad employee. I believe the reviewer had a bad experience but it is just not at all consistent with the service we've had from them over the years. I have been using Emmett's for around 12 years now. They kept my 12 year old Rav 4 going & now that I have a new car, I trust them to take care of it. They are highly trustworthy and never recommend doing anything that is not needed. As a single woman, that is very important to me.
