A very satisfying experience on many levels. The service was excellent, the servers were friendly and expedient. The young lady behind the bar skillfully mixed up magic potions in her shaker, very delicious cocktails. The food, while eclectic, was executed perfectly across the board, no matter if you ordered a Greek dish, a Latin dish or an American. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Stumbled upon Sin & Grin on my first visit to the Kentlands area. While driving through the area saw the sign that said rotisserie chicken, tacos, and salads. At first somewhat skeptical, as that seemed like an odd combo, but decided to give it a try. Super cute and cozy space. Felt like you were eating in your own home. We wanted to try a few each of the advertised items, so we ordered the buffalo chicken wings (6 piece), Main Street tacos (2 per order) that came with your choice of a side, we went with the salad. As we were waiting for our food I couldn't help notice all the yummy plates that were being brought out. Saw a nice looking salmon bowl, with rice and spinach, that I will be trying next time. All of what we ordered was awesome. The chicken in the tacos was nice and juicy (thinking it was their rotisserie chicken) and paired well with the toppings. Buffalo wings had to have been one of my favorite buffalo wings. I'm usually not a fan of sauce on my wings especially buffalo, but this buffalo sauce was just right. The blue cheese seemed like it was made in house with chunks of blue cheese that made it a perfect match with this wing. What was great about these wings is that they were nice and crispy which is a huge plus for wings. No soggy wings here!! Would definitely visit this spot on a regular basis if I lived closer. I was in the mood for a hearty meal after cleaning my car and decided a burrito bowl would do the job. So I came to this restaurant based on a friends recommendation and was surprised with the amount of different food it offers. I ordered the carnitas bowl which came to my table in 15 mins (pretty good timing for Saturday evening). The carnitas bowl was packed with rice, beans, sour cream, tomato, onion, corn, lettuce, and the meat itself. It was quite good and on a normal day, I would've taken half of it home for late night snacking, but was too hungry and ate it all. My only issue is the ratio of the beans to all the other items in the bowl. If you mix the food, the flavor of the beans will overpower everything, so maybe provide less beans, and a bit more of everything else so it balances out better. I want to try their sandwiches next time I'm around (specifically the beef and lamb gyro). read more

They had pop/house music playing and some young girls at the register. I came in at 7pm on a Tuesday evening and the restaurant was empty. After just taking just a peak at the menu I asked the girl behind the register "could I just make my own tacos" and she responded "I guess" lol I will say maybe I have been in customer service too long but I guess is never what someone wants to hear. Nonetheless, I ordered 3 flour chicken tacos with brown rice, cheese and sour cream. Simple! About $13 and 5 minutes later my meal was ready. Let me just say, unfortunately, I was no where near wowed away. Sighhh. The chicken didn't taste like it belonged in a taco. It was very bland and flavorless. They do give you a generous portion however. The rice was dry and they put so much sour cream on the tacos I had to get a napkin to wipe it off. Now, I do recommend giving it a try for yourself because the food wasn't terrible but definitely wasn't what I was expecting. Went here for lunch and the food was delish. I got the salmon tacos and my boyfriend got the steak and cheese sandwich. Great drinks too and great drink recommendations. Everything here is delicious and the service is the absolute BEST. It seems like a family restaurant with the vibe that I get. Their prices are reasonable too. My friend mentioned this place for tacos and is located wheree the original Vasilis restaurant was. I have to say the rotisserie chicken has to be one of the best I've eaten. So moist and flavorful. I should have ordered a half instead of a quarter. I doubled up on the salad sides (no carbs!) too. Yum. My colleague had a shrimp and veggie burrito and really enjoyed his food. I've been coming to sin and grin since they've opened and they're food is great but my last experience there was awful. The outdoor seating is first come so we sat at a table that still needed to be cleared off because it was busy and we didn't want anyone else to grab it. When the waitress came to clean off the table she started pushing the old rice and beans off the table onto my lap and onto my dog who was laying on the ground next to me. I asked to her not wipe the food onto my dog and she asked for me to move him. Before writing a public review, I tried emailing, messaging, and calling a few times after that night but no answers or replies. It's disgusting to have someone's old food flung onto me and my dog and shows either lack of training and lack of care. This message is more for the business to see and finally either reply to me or at least read it since I couldn't get a reply any other way. read more

I'm embarrassed to admit that I walk by here often but had not been inside since before the pandemic. (We had done curbside pickup.) Fast forward to last week, I popped in to order carry out lunch (fish tacos, side of guac, outstanding) and was delighted to see that they added a full service bar since my last visit! I appreciate a good neighborhood bar and vowed to return with my husband. Last night, we squeaked in just before the kitchen closed at 8pm (on a June Friday? I vote for staying open at least until 9!), but the bartender welcomed us, assured us we could eat if we ordered immediately, rattled off two specials, one of which sounded complicated but included "crabcake" so i chose that one. My husband opted for a Caesar salad with rotisserie chicken (a restaurant specialty). The house made chips (thin and crispy) and salsa were an excellent nibble as we awaited our dinner. Both dishes were delish. Crabcake was jumbo lump and placed atop a bowl of sautéed veggies, rice and quinoa, and a generous dollop of the best tzatziki. Let's talk about cocktails. It's important to size up a bar before you order a cocktail. Based on the liquor selection and watching our bartender make a few drinks, I asked for a G&T, with Hendricks, and cucumber instead of lime. When he asked if I would like my cucumber muddled or as a garnish, I knew we had possibly just found out new favorite bar. Husband had a Manhattan ("on the rocks, or up?"). Both drinks were perfect. I regret that we didn't take any photos. The staff was nice as could be, especially given that we were their last customers forcthe evening. I came here for an early dinner and as a taco fan, I was not impressed. I ordered the Main Street tacos and I had to ask the owner for more sauce because my meal was unbelievably dry. Even with extra white sauce, it tasted bland. The chicken lacked seasoning and I was disappointed to say the least. The rice and beans were well...rice and beans. The restaurant had cute decor and had outdoor seating for nicer days. I was in the mood for a delicious taco and I just didn't get that here. Very trendy taco place. On the same side as Cute Tips Nail Salon. It was Hard to find since it was dark and it was rainy. Very chic and sophisticated decor. Typical Mexican/Latino fare. Very friendly employees. Chips: there not free and i was glad the nice lady allowed me to sample but the corn chip were too thick and a little overcooked. So I passed on chips n guac. So I ordered steak taco combo with beans and rice. Rice was good tasty and not sticky.. Blackbeans were the bomb. Tasty. I never ever gave beans 5 stars because they all have disappointed me. As i child i would had to have been bribed or threatened to eat beans not today. Lol. Tacos were tasty but I wished the meat was cutted into smaller pieces. My 2 cents for improvements. I would of gave it 5 stars but there was no Fixins bar. Like pico de gallo, cilantro, radishes, mango salsa and extra sauces like other places. We found this place on Yelp and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and friendliness of the service. I had the Sin and Grin salad with grilled shrimp, which were plump, juicy and a bit spicy, a great foil to the avocado and cool greens with mango, cucumbers, and chopped tomatoes. Mike had the portobello mushroom fajitas with a bag of warmed tortillas, a side of black beans, and rice, and extra guacamole and pico de gallo. This was a great dish, slightly spicy, very delicious, and quite filling. The server was friendly, the kitchen staff, mellow, and quite skillful. I came here for lunch for the first time with a friend. We walked in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and saw that it was decently packed, with a couple of tables open. Most of the diners seemed to be larger groups with their families and kids. We weren't greeted upon coming in and noticed that it was one of those restaurants where you place your order at the counter, and then find your seat. My friend ordered one of their tacos with a side of beans, and I ordered the Aha Baja with a side of french fries. There's a bar and countertop on the side of the restaurant where you can pick up utensils and napkins. We waited about 10-15 minutes for the tacos, and there was a minor mistake with my order- there were two bowls of rice instead of french fries. I let the server, who also happened to be the cashier know that there was a mistake with my order, but her answer was that I ordered rice instead of the french fries. Another older employee who was around came by and resolved the situation professionally instead of trying to push the blame on myself. The experience with the one cashier/server left a sour taste in my mouth, but I tried my best to enjoy the meal. Being a fish taco afficionado and having tried multiple fish tacos from different cities around the country, I've had my fair share of good and bad ones. The Aha Baja fish tacos from Sin & Grin were probably on the average or below average side of the scale, but definitely not worth almost $12 for 2 tacos ($6 each). I was full for the meal, but did not see the value from the tacos, they should have been $12 for 3 after tasting the quality of the fish and ingredients. The fish was fried, but the oil was not drained properly, leaving it soft and broken instead of crispy in the bottom of the tortilla. The sauce with the tacos was good, however I noticed that there was no cilantro in the taco, despite it being on the menu. I would like to come back again to try other items on the menu another time and give this place another chance, since it's a local spot close by. read more

It was tender, smoky, and lemony. It comes with a dipping sauce of some sort but we didn't try that. The fries reminded me of Burger King, but in a good way. Past reviews suggested that portions were small, but they were well sized, and I'd say I have a fairly big appetite. I had the build your own bowl with romaine, black beans, chicken, pico de Gallo, corn, and pickled jalapeños. You can also add cheese and sour cream and rice. The owner (I think) brought us some samples of the salsa verde, another salsa, and jalapeño lime sauce. I really liked all three. My mom got the tacos with pulled pork, pineapple, and salsa verde. She loved it! The prices are a bit higher than I would hope for lunch, but it's definitely not too pricey. The atmosphere inside is really cute and homey but also modern in its own way. We decided to swap a taco each so we could try both shrimp and fish, as well as split an order of chips and queso. I have had my fair share of both terrible and great tacos, and I have to say that overall these were average to below average. There was nothing "kickin" about the shrimp tacos, which lacked regular salt and seasoning much less any heat. The fish tacos were presented fried, but lacked any crispy exterior and were rather soggy, making me regret not ordering a simpler grilled fish instead. And when you consider the cost ($12!), it really did not seem worth it. The highlight of the meal was definitely the chips and queso. The chips were warm and crisp, they were also thick enough to handle the queso very well. The queso itself had the right amount of spice to it and really tasted like it was freshly made. Considering the great service, overall popularity on yelp, as well as crowds that this restaurant draws in, I would like to come back again to try other items on the menu and give this place another chance.
