My senses were confused as I visited for the first time. This place kept me waiting to feel Sinaloa. I get the cafe. Hearing live folk (not the Mexican type but the Willie Nelson type) live music. i've been coming to this restaurant since they were on Monterey Road before the restaurant burned down and had moved to Downtown Morgan Hill. The food was good the service was OK I was disappointed when we received the bill to have a cake fee $18 added onto the bill ... The fee was more than what the cake was. unaware of this cake fee..... not one staff member informed me I would be charged a fee for bringing in a cake. Nowhere on their website is it stated in writing of a cake fee for outside food. When I asked The manager why I was charged this fee they indicated it's their policy I asked to please show me the policy because I did not see anything in writing in the restaurant or on the website. Not one single staff member informed me I would be charged a cake fee. Our bill was over $300 plus they added on an 18% gratuity. (Which that did not bother me) what bothered me was they were charging me a fee for bringing a cake which I cut and served myself I even brought our own little paper plates. The next day I called twice spoke to a manager and each time was told someone would get back with me and was told it was their policy and they could not change it I asked for a refund of this cake fee since I was not made aware of it!!! We ordered 2 chicken crispy tacos , 1 beef crispy taco and one bean and cheese burrito. The taco was not crispy at all the tortilla was like a soft taco but tasted burnt. The chicken had no flavor at all not even salt same with the beef. The bean burrito was ok according to our friend. The two stars are for the chips , salsa and big water cups which were good . Food was not that good, I come from a place in California that has excellent Mexican food so others who aren't used to great mexican food might like it, but not me. I hate to leave less than great reviews, but I've visited this place a few times now, and it's just average to me, if that. The restaurant is located in the downtown area. There's a parking lot just outside of the restaurant, but it is usually filled. Someone is always leaving though so be patient! There is plenty of seating - indoor and outdoor, there's even bar seating. The service is okay. The service is good until you order, and then they hardly come back around (minus delivering your food to your table of course). FLIES. GNATS. EVERYWHERE. Not only is it gross, it's pretty freaking annoying having to constantly swat the bugs away. The food is okay. Nothing special. I ordered the enchiladas, and I had an upset stomach almost immediately. I can't confirm if it was from the food, but I'm going to say most likely. We asked for a second round of drinks after she brought us the bill and upon bringing the drinks she brought us the bill once again as if she is rushing us out. I've lived in MoHill for nearly 15 years and never tried this place because I heard through several folks that it was mediocre food; they were not wrong. The food is basic but portion sizes are reasonable. The salsa is no more than tomatoes with a little flavor. Could be canned from all I know. I moved away from Morgan Hill, today I happen to be in town and decided to visit what used to be my favorite restaurant in Morgan Hill. I was sure surprised how much it has changed, and not in a good way. The waitress had no personality whatsoever, never checked up on how I was doing and acted, as if she was annoyed by customers being there. This evening was not a busy one at all either. I ordered the chicken chili verde burrito which had two pieces of chicken throughout the whole burrito. It was mostly a bean, rice and cheese burrito. I've been coming to this restaurant off and on for a few years and all the food is below your average Mexican restaurant. But I'll tell you what, I will not return to this restaurant again after I witnessed the way the workers treated a poor family waiting by the door. The hostess and server were very disrespectful and rude to a couple with their child. They had a party right next to the front door and we're going to sit down, until approached by the hostess and worker and told them rudely and yelled you can't come in here like they were a piece of trash. Instead of simply saying, I'm sorry sir but you've might of forgot your mask and please put it on before you come inside. I've felt so sorry for that poor family, everyone is sitting around the bar and tables with no mask on and walking around with no mask on, even going to the bathroom without a mask. I was talking to the patrons that witnessed it and we all lost our appetite after that incident. The fellow patrons also said they've been coming here for years and were utterly disgusted after the way they treated those guests. I will not return to this restaurant ever again, I know everyone that witnessed it will not either, we felt very uncomfortable. It got it's mojo back. It's really good now! The prices are a little high but they probably needed to raise the prices because of all the new restaurants coming to downtown Morgan Hill. Service is great! Margaritas are great! Food is pretty darn good. Maybe just improve the ambiance a little more and they'll be all set. Visiting our local watering hole for a cold beer and quick bite.... What a deal! Promo poster on the patio picturing a 20oz schooner with choice of 3 beers for only $8. Considering their regularly-served, smaller than average 10oz beers are $9 and a 12oz Chavela is $9.99 it's a no brainer. I ordered the Space Dust IPA. That is until the beer shows up and guess what? It's their normal miniature 10oz glass of beer! A quick conversation with the server resulted in "we don't even have any big glasses like that." It's basically a promo for only $1 off the three listed draft beer choices. She offered no other solution. I mentioned that I would normally just order a Chavela but instead ordered the promo. Oh well. My second beverage order was in fact a Chavela. Then, about 5 minutes later, the server returns with a small cocktail glass with about 4oz of Space Dust IPA and says "here you go." At first I had no idea what she was delivering to our table, then it hit me... this is the rest of my first beer?! Hmmm. No explanation, no further discussion. We didn't consume the small glass of Space Dust, paid the bill, still left a 20% tip, and probably won't ever be back again. read more

I'd like to start off this Review first by stating that I don't normally like to make a fuss over they way people behave, but our experience at this particular establishment has changed my view On Saturday May 15th we encountered an insanely odd situation. We ordered our drinks with no problem & continued to enjoy the conversation not noticing that out waiter has taking an extra amount of time to return to our table to take our order. Well upon his return he starts to take our food order after asking us if we could please put up a credit card, & thinking of it we start to go for out cards, when my Niece was like wait one minute. Sir why do you need a credit card? He then in a stern voice says because the last time these 2 were here staring coldly at my Daughter and other Niece the left without paying. Shocked at this accusation we all looked at one another like really is this guy really saying this and this shocl comes from knowing for a fact we all have never been to this restaurant before that day. Now feeling a little uncomfortable as we try to defend ourselves telling him that we are from out of town & he must have us confused still in shock for been treated in this manner. Can we please speak to a manager so this same gentleman who appeared to be our waiter is now the manager. So now feeling more over whelmed then before, seening how were from out of town my Niece just had a baby couple months prior,we just wanted enjoy time to catch up from our hectic chaotic life not to mentioned as the whole world is dealing with one awful year.For our first time out to have to be degraded like this in front of restaurant filled with customers, and mind you he was not discreet about it one bit. So we ask him why do you feel so strongly about this, he says the cameras don't lie. Can you show us these images that have you so certain its them. He says I know I remember faces. Of course by now we are getting a little more upset so our voices are starting to escalate once he hears this in our tone he immediately asked us to leave to pay for drinks and leave drinks we didn't even get to finish because we were so disgusted with what was happening to us & how we were being treated! I came here on 5 de mayo to celebratewith my husband, i was thinking it was an ideal spot for some drinks and good food. I realized it was going to be a bit of wait and i was prepared to do that except that it was too much! 20 mins to get a drink at the bar, 40 minutes to be seated, the host had to be reminded we were on a list and waiting to be seated, once we were seated we were totally ignored by two waitress available in the area we seated, neither offered to take our orders. After another 20 to 30 minutes of waiting we decided to leave. Honestly, they were not that busy. I witnessed the waitress returning to the same tables they already waited on. I'm so glad my partner and I decided to have dinner at Sinaloa Cafe. We usually drive to San Jose for restaurants or other cities but this evening we stayed home and local. I must say as we walked in we were greeted and seated right away. Our table was #41 near the fish pond which was really fun to watch. Our server Rosemary was such a sweetheart!! Other staff walked by and asked us if we needed anything and if everything was okay, the customer service was excellent!!!!! This place defines that!! Do I recommend this place? Yes!! Before I throw out the bag with the receipt, I glanced to see if the price was correct. I do that randomly, it's just my habit. But their prices weren't what I thought they would be (see the photo). I understand it's a slight difference (all 3 items), and the menu says 'prices subject to change,' but I just don't deal with this kinda business practice as a customer. One thing could tell a lot. If my husband bought a $100 Hermes scarf instead of $150 one on plane as a sourvenir back from France, I'd think that's how much he cared about me. Talking about price, I've read someone saying every time he/she goes to this Mexican bakery, they charge her dfferent prices. I still wonder what that is, also, if he/she still goes there. I'm not sure why this place doesn't have more stars? Not only do I love their food, but I have many fond milestone memories here. This is my favorite Mexican Restaurant ever! I've been going here for 15+ years and have never had a bad meal or a bad margarita. The chips and salsa are endless and they serve two types of salsa, one medium heat smooth one and the other a little spicy and chunky. My favorite dish is the #6, chicken taco, cheese enchilada and a chili verde burrito. The taco's are awesome, they make their taco shells fresh, none of that pre-made taco shell business. The chili verde is the best I've ever had, the pork is so tender and the sauce fantastic. The rice is best ever, just so fluffy and light. Every meal is served bubbling hot.....and I mean bubbling, don't touch the plates or you will get burned. Sinaloa also has the best margaritas in town, in fact all you need is one, or you'll have to call a cab! read more

Amanda and I came here on a weekday evening with no wait. We were greeted quickly and were able to sit wherever we liked. The server was kind and gave us plenty of time to catch up and look over the menu. We were also given chips and sala right away with no charge. In fact, we were able to get a refill and were offered more even when our food came! We ordered chavelas and chicken enchiladas. I ordered the red sauce and Amanda ordered the verde sauce.
