We went up to Sutter Creek today for a family outing. I checked the Yelp reviews yesterday and came up with 6 lunch options. We had 6 Adults and a pair of grandkids and I guessed some restaurants weren't going to have a big table for all of us. This place looked fine though. Corina and I split a Pastrami Reuben on sourdough. They served us on two plates and each of us got one of their yummy dill spears. The 1/2 sandwich was the perfect size for each of us and they were great tasting. I had a cup of delicious clam chowder on the side and an Amador Dirty Blonde ale that was pretty tasty. I need to find a source for that down here in Elk Grove. We will come back here again.

Came for the gnarly-huge cookies, stayed for the sandwiches. I figured that the oatmeal raisin cookie would have some crispiness to it, but not have crispiness be its whole personality trait lol. Rather tough and a bit on the one-note sweet side. Would be great to have the cookie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream as it would make a nice topping when crumbled haha. Gold rush sandwich was pretty decent. Not the most flavorful tri-tip but the sandwich bread was scrumptiously toasty. Nice cheese pull too. Pretty friendly staff and there is plentiful seating. 3 stars for the food collectively but bumped the rating up to a 4 for the service and ambiance. Overall a place to consider when searching for some grub at Sutter Creek.

Such an adorable coffee shop/cafe! We visited Sutter Creek for a wedding, and stopped in for some iced lattes to walk around town with. I wish we would have eaten breakfast here because both the food and prices looked great! My review is based solely on the latte (which was amazing) and the overall feel of the cafe. Can't wait to come back and eat here!

Lasagna soup was delicious. Never had this before. It was a delight, barbecue beef sandwich delicious and a lemonade. My friend had wine.

A wonderful stopping point on the way to or returning from the mountains. The BBQ sandwich was amazing with one of the best pickles I have had in a long time. My wife had the house special, which was equally good if you miss the post-Thanksgiving sandwich. And the potato salad is excellent. It has a wonderful small town atmosphere with a great staff.

On Memorial Day my sweetheart and I ventured in for some breakfast, I ordered the French Toast Breakfast Sandwich with added strawberry jam since the description reminded me of a monte cristo sandwhich, tho slightly different. It was delicious and sweet with a nice amount of meat, eggs, powdered sugar and syrup. The strawberry jam was sweet and really brought the sandwich up a notch, the sandwich was great on it's own tho so I didn't add much syrup. To drink I ordered a classic breakfast staple, a small Orange Juice, delicious! I would definitely recommend stopping into this restaurant yourself, they have beautiful artwork displayed throughout we enjoyed looking at, nice stained glass on the doors and the staff are very friendly and helpful! Especially our cashier, she gave great recommendations, it had been so long since I stopped in that I don't remember what I ordered. From the looks of it, they are definitely known for their biscuits and gravy and I can see why, I tried a bite of my man's and it's damn good, ordering next time! You can tell they make everything homemade here!

We got the mother lode which is a country gravy smothered biscuit with an over easy egg on top. Heaven! Their gravy is probably the best I've ever had. The wait was a bit long, but it takes time to make delicious, fresh food. OJ was fresh and my chai tea was perfect. read more

Unbelievably slow. Nobody moves with any sense of urgency. They stand around talking giving the appearance that making your sandwich is bothering them. Ordered one muffin breakfast sandwich & one bagel breakfast sandwich, and took almost 30 minutes. The sandwiches themselves were just microwave trash. Small with cheap ingredients. I think this place is just trying to take advantage of the tourist. Oh well, live & learn. read more

I would absolutely give it five stars if they had some additional variations of vegetarian food. The quiches good , needs a little updating perhaps to some leafy greens , spinach , collard greens . If you are staying in Sutter Creek, you're number 1 breakfast stop needs to be this establishment! The customer service here is top notch, the coffee is soooooo good, the breakfast and lunch menu is amazingly diverse and if you like sweets, you absolutely have to get yourself, not 1 but a few of Sina's Cookies that you will be raving about long after they've been eaten! And to top it all off, the atmosphere is very comfortable and intimate making it oh so cozy and give you a feeling of home. Do not miss stopping at this Diamond here in Sutter Creek!! read more

Backroads is a great place to eat! I used to come here almost every Sunday after Church growing up and still go there regularly today. Though there are many things to choose from on the menu, I always get the jimbo. It's a great turkey sandwich with melted cheese and salsa. Think Santa Fe New Mexico style. The people are always so friendly and the owner, Sina, is a wonderful lady. The portions are big enough and the music is always rockin (Zeppelin and classic rock). Try out Sina's backroads cafe if looking for something new in Sutter Creek or if you need a standby standard to go to! In fact, skip the trip to Denny's this week and head on down to grab a Jimbo. We came in here while we were at Sutter Creek and when we went I changed from a medium to a large iced coffee with cream and vanilla and the girl made the medium which is no big deal I totally understand. No problem. But then she put the medium in the large cup and added nothing more than ice. No more coffee. No more vanilla. That's such a cheap place. Not worth the portions. Portions were very small! Bread on was miniature size. Caesar wrap had little amount of lettuce and dressing that I tasted more tortilla than lettuce! My husband felt sorry for me that he gave me his piece of lettuce from his little sandwich. Potato salad was a good portion and oatmeal cooke was good. We do not plan on giving it a second chance. read more

We selected the highly recommended WRP to cater our wedding in 2016. From the moment we met Jon and Sina we knew we were in good hands. The food we chose was absolutely delicious, my guests were very pleased as were we and Jon took on the role making sure everything ran smoothly, down to cutting the cake :). We have been to their quaint little spot in Sutter Creek and enjoyed it very much. Reasonable prices with a down home menu. I would recommend Jon and Sina's "WRP Backroads" to anyone looking for a great catering experience as well as stopping in to grab a yummy breakfast or lunch in beautiful Sutter Creek!! Established in 1988.

This business has been in this building for approximately 30 years. It started in the back and you entered on the side. Sina (owner) has been here since 2000 working for 3 different owners. Until her and husband took over in 2014. The couple wanted to give the public great coffee, breakfast, lunch with great quality and price. Their style of food is concentrated on the comfort side. Also, they ask local artist to hang their art on the walls for all to enjoy. It's a wonderful place to hangout.

Meet the Business Owner: Sina and Jon H.

Sina and Jon are married and share the chef duties together in two businses. The second business is a catering company called "Wrp Bbq & Catering". We're they speicalize in weddings, events and charity groups. Their goal is to make quality food and offer great customer serves.

The last time we went we got brunch and sat outside enjoying the summer breeze. They have a pretty good selection of brunch items and at good prices, from avocado toasts to sandwiches and salads. I went with the breakfast bagel sando while my husband went with the panini-grilled breakfast burrito. As far as their drinks are concerned, they have seasonal menus and also serve the usual offerings of cold brew or lattes. I ended up choosing their seasonal blackberry matcha latte with oat milk while my husband went with the lemon cream cold brew. Both drinks were made pretty quickly by the friendly lady staffing the cafe. Was the matcha the best I had? Of course not, as I've had plenty of top tier matcha from south Sac and the bay, but it was smooth and the blackberry flavor was prominent. After waiting for several more minutes, our food was ready, and we eagerly dug in. I loved that our plates were served with freshly seasonal fruit, and that neither my bagel nor my husband's burrito was oily. Both of our selections were solid choices, and we would get them again. I would've liked if I could have chosen my bagel type (perhaps they don't go through enough bagels to warrant giving people choices), but the plain one that came with the dish was still good. Fig Barn Coffee is a convenient place to stop by if you need your coffee fix to or from Sac. We usually just go to Sac for our drink fix, but this one still hits the spot in general, especially with its brunch options.

It looks like Ramblehorn is here to stay and I'm here for it! The prices are affordable, the portions are huge, and the staff are friendly. Parking is tight, but not terrible. Amador Brewing is next door as well. As soon as you step in, it smells like a classic diner, the kind of smell that takes you back. We went for a late brunch on a Sunday and it was packed, but we were able to be seated pretty quickly. Our server was attentive and jovial. Whenever I try out a new breakfast/brunch spot (which isn't that often since I don't normally eat breakfast/brunch), I have to order the eggs benedict. Perfecting a hollandaise sauce and poached eggs isn't exactly the easiest, so it's pretty tell-tale for a restaurant if they can get their eggs benedict right. For my side I went with the hash browns. My husband wanted something a little lighter, so he went with the breakfast sandwich and a side of hash browns. Apparently you can order the egg however you want, so he decided to ask for it scrambled. He chose bacon for the meat. It took a while for our food to arrive. As soon as we placed our order, it seemed that everyone was coming for the lunch rush. There were a few tables that had also just ordered as well. Our server was very apologetic for the wait, but we said we didn't mind. I could tell they were still working through the kinks and training new staff, but the system they had going was already good. Once our food arrived, we were so excited to dig in. The poached eggs passed the test, and so did the hollandaise sauce. I hate when breakfast food is overly oily or rich, but the food here was not that at all. The English muffins also held up well to the barrage of yolk pouring out of the eggs. The hash browns were delightfully crispy, and my favorite additions to hash browns are ketchup and hot sauce, both of which they have at the condiment section of each table. My husband enjoyed his breakfast sandwich as well. It wasn't heavy and was well-balanced. The bacon was crispy and the eggs were fluffy. You can tell that the staff at Ramblehorn make their food with love. Given the multitudes of patrons that have been stopping by, I'm pretty sure Ramblehorn will stay for the long haul. I'm definitely coming back to try some other dishes soon!

We also were offered more coffee since the cup was low- but never received the refill before we left. Not sure we will be back but maybe their lunch will be better.
