    Fresh Watermelon juice. #singlawangcafe

Singkawang Cafe is a small Indonesian restaurant located along Valley blvd. It's located in a plaza connected to a badminton center. They have a vast selection of Indonesian-Thai food as well as drinks. I came to grab a quick supper. I ordered a Chicken Pad Woon Sen and Watermelon juice. Food was okay. Juice was because it's fresh. Service was spot on. Staff were cordial. Plenty of parking. Prices were fair. Overall, it's a nice South East Asian food.

Singkawang Cafe is located in a plaza across the street from Nick's burgers with parking available. In the plaza itself, there is a hidden badminton gym. I had this restaurant bookmarked for quite some time and finally got to try this restaurant two Saturdays ago. What initially made me bookmark this restaurant on Yelp was for the food itself (I am a big fan of curry laska) and also the outdoor dog friendly seating that also happens to be covered (which is nice when it's sunny). I went inside to let an employee know that we would like to eat outside, while my husband and our little girl dog were outside. The employee brought us menus. After we looked them over, we ended up ordering: #18, Mixed Rice/ Nasi Campur, $16.95 prior to tax- My husband ordered this dish. The dish came with 5 different types of proteins (chicken, crispy pork, Chinese sausage, barbeque pork and a hard boiled egg that is sliced in half) that is served on top of a bed of rice. It also comes with a small bowl of soup as well. I thought the barbeque pork was pretty good and well seasoned and flavored. But I didn't try the other items. My husband liked this dish but thought it was kind of odd that this dish had Chinese sausage because usually he has had that mixed in a dish or a side (such as sticky rice or clay pot rice dishes, etc) and not served like this by itself as a protein. #17 Curry Laksa/ Laksa Kari, $14.95 prior to tax- I ordered this dish and really liked it. But I did find it to be a little too spicy for me, as the spice lingered (I am not much of a spicy eater and my husband thought it was not spicy at all). This dish was was served with rice noodle, tofu, fish cakes and shrimp. I thought the dish was filling and really was a fair share to share. -------------------------------- (Total= $39.25 after tax + tip) Service was friendly and prompt. Our water dish was filled regularly even though we were sitting outside (and the only ones outside). Overall, I enjoyed my meal here. But I do feel that the price might be a little bit more expensive than what I was expecting. But would dine here again with our little girl.

Dined in for dinner on 10/31/25. It was empty and the parking lot was almost full for some reason. I ordered the seafood fried rice and my girlfriend ordered the Indonesian beef soup, but wow the food was delicious and affordable! Most dishes were less than $17 and the portions were big! If you want authentic Indonesian food, this is the spot! If you like spicy, they have it here! Seafood rice: good portions of seafood! 4/5 Indonesian beef soup: super flavorful! 5/5

I've been meaning to try more south eastern restaurants and had this saved for a while, just to realize that it was the restaurant connected to the badminton club (labc). None the less, the food was pretty good but I wouldn't say it was the BEST indonesian/thai food I've had. Still a good quick bite to grab if you're in the mood for these flavors

3.5 stars for me. Came here with my family. We ordered calamari and fried chicken for the appetizer. The calamari was ok. Fried chicken had a lot of spices, but weirdly didn't have a lot of flavor and wasn't crispy. I ordered the beef ball soup. The flavor was a bit bland. The meatballs and tofu was what I expected. My family ordered a lot of other dishes like the Jump noodles, fried rice, pad see ew, laksa and some others. Most of the dishes needed more flavor, but if you like spicy then it may be good. I am not a big fan of spicy foods. The service was great! The server was very nice and the chef also came out to ask us how everything was. They had a variety of Indonesian snacks which was nice to see.

I've been going to this place for almost decade and I'm always excited everytime they're adding new menus whether it's seasonal or permanent. The staff are the friendliest and the most accommodating you could ever found. They have some Indonesian snacks available to buy. Parking is plenty in the plaza. It's located next to the badminton indoor court. Three vibes is homey.

Stopped by with my mom during lunch time on Saturday, 06/07/25. This place serves my mom's hometown food! Ordered the following: - 1 #16 - Jump Mein = $14.95 - 1 #L12 - 3 Flavors Shrimp and Scallops = $14.95 - 1 Es Cendol = $6.50 SUBTOTAL = $36.40 TAX = $3.82 TIP = $10 TOTAL = $50.22 The food was really good and the menu gave us a bunch of options to choose from. My mom enjoyed her meal however feels like this place is a bit overpriced. This indo restaurant is very authentic; they also sell some indo snacks inside (mini market) which is also overpriced. We also received some complimentary soup and dessert (red bean).

This place is so damn good! Discovered this place from Peter and Lisa's YouTube video and it did not disappoint. It's a family-owned restaurant with a small market with snacks and other Indonesian goodies. The Choi pan (steamed dumplings) were different but tasty slightly crunchy and flavorful. Our favorite dish was the Nasi Campur (mixed rice). Each meat was cooked to perfection and so tasty. My partner literally said it's one of the best pork bellies he's ever had and all pork bellies should aspire to be that. Get the mix rice for sure.

Amazing, delicious, flavorful authentic Indonesian cuisine! Try all the dishes! The kweitau Goreng and kacang rempeyak was my favorite!

Our party of 11 was taken in for dinner close to last call but they were accommodating and served up all our orders very quickly. My mixed rice has a tasty spread of proteins. The crispy pork had the perfect bite- not teeth breaking hard and not too much fat, it was rendered perfectly! Not pictured is the Laksa that was so flavorful, close to the experience I had in Singapore years ago. If you want are craving Indonesian, Singaporean, or Thai food, keep this place in mind!

o3.14.2o25 Very yummy food, even for to-go. I bet it'll be even be tastier if we dined in. We got the laksa curry with rice noodles, mixed rice aka nasi campur, and crab meat fried rice. The roasted pork were spicy crispy and the fried garlic sauce was still very crunchy even when we got home in a closed container. The laksa curry was really good with a kick of spiciness. Each orders came with eggs so we got to eat some eggs if you know what I mean. Hahaha Definitely plan on trying other dishes here.

Wanted to get take-out on NYE, when I called around 7:30pm , they said they closed early for NYE. So on 1/2, we tried again and got the crab meat fried rice and Nasi Padang. The crab meat fried rice tasted like shrimp paste. Very strong flavor. The Nasi Padang was quite spicy and delicious. Highly recommended this place if you are in town!

In search of local Indonesian restaurant in the area, and very happy to try this place! Authentic Asian cuisine from Indonesia, Chinese and Thai cuisine listed in the menu. Abundance of choice for everyone. Opted beef meatball soup specialty of Singkawang (a place in Borneo in island) and beef fried rice; both are tasty. If you are craving for some Indonesian spice and snack they have selection at little store too. Awesome service, casual ambiance and authentic taste.

The rice was flavorful along side the well cooked meat. It came with an egg, spicy peanuts, and a coquette. You can order at the counter or at the table. Though, if you're unfamiliar, it's worth it to ask the staff for details especially for the items listed on the daily special since there's no descriptor on those. The place also serves as a mini grocery for Indonesian items if you want to make it at home. It does give homely vibes with a sense of community. They serve authentic Indonesian foods that remind me of Jakarta. Today I was really craving Ayam Goreng Kremes, because it's been many years since the last time I had it. Nasi Ayam Kremes is a combination of Indonesian style fried chicken, white rice, perkedel (fried potato pattie), fried tofu, fried tempeh, and sayur asem soup. The chicken is deep fried after it's been cooked in herbs and fully marinated. Very flavorful as I can really taste the different herbs and spices. Over the fried chicken is a generous serving of savory crunchy crumbs. There's also a side of medium spicy house sambal. I would recommend adding some kecap manis (Indonesian sweet soy sauce) and use this as dipping sauce. The half fried chicken is rather small, about the size of a Cornish hen. The soup is pretty good, even though I am not a fan of sayur asem soup. This tamarind-based soup contains green beans, chayote, corn rounds, and peanuts. The deep fried marinated tofu and tempeh are so yummy! They truly remind me of the good ol' days living in Indonesia, as they are the staple foods of the locals. The perkedel is just passable, possibly because it is served cold. Unfortunately, it isn't as crispy as it should be. The restaurant is small. Other than the kitchen crew, only one person was doing all the work. Good and very friendly service. My order did take a long time, however. If you're in a rush, you may want to eat somewhere else. Indo Bistro is the place where you really want to "santai" which means relax, take it easy. Indo Bistro is an Indonesian restaurant, mini-mart hybrid. They sell a variety of pre-packaged Indonesian snacks, shelf stable groceries, and also freshly-made market snacks, such as pastel, lemper, bakcang, rempeyek, etc. I also tried their savory snack Lemper, which is sticky rice stuffed with shredded chicken that's been cooked in coconut milk. After it is wrapped in fresh banana leaf, it is then char-grilled. Their lemper is really good, but very greasy. It's basically food and lip gloss in one. BOGO Lol Next time when I'm craving more Indonesian food, I'll be coming back to Indo Bistro. They have really good chicken satays.

Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is pretty big since they share a parking lot with many other establishments. The parking spot sizes vary depending on where you park. There shouldn't be any issues finding a spot. Food: I ordered an Indonesian fried rice and pork satay skewers with rice. The Indonesian fried rice was really delicious. The Indonesian fried rice had some greens, eggs, garlic, dried shallots, dried onions, raw onions, green onion, chicken, and meatball. All cooked to perfection. There were a good amount of chicken and meatballs in the dish. Both were soft, juicy, tender, and full of flavors. I love that the hot rice was slightly crunchy. It reminded me of eating rice from a hot stone bowl. For the pork satay skewers, I was lowkey disappointed that they didn't have lamb this time. I originally ordered lamb satay skewers, but they told me they didn't have it so they asked me to order a different satay skewer. I opted for pork satay skewers. This dish normally comes with rice cakes, but I'm not a fan of the texture of rice cakes, so I asked them to give me plain white rice instead. They happily obliged and gave me a bowl of white hot and steaming white rice along with 5 pork satay skewers. The marinade for the pork satay skewers had hints of garlic, lemon, honey, sweet soy sauce, and peanut sauce. An extremely delicious marinade for the pork satay skewers. The grilled pork itself was very aromatic, tender, juicy, and flavorful. So incredibly umami! A good portion for the price point for both dishes. I do agree with other Yelpers that I felt extremely thirsty after eating both dishes. Perhaps they need to tone it down a bit on the MSG. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, happy, welcoming, and helpful. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum. Also, right when you walk into the restaurant, there is a very cute and small market. You can get some delicious Indonesian snacks and other things while you wait for your food. I highly recommend coming here and giving this lovely mom and pop Indonesian restaurant a try. Sooooo fricken good!
