Ipoh Kopitiam was heavily pushed on IG for their Michelin. Did it live up to the hype? It was decent. The appetizer was a good indication of the cuisine! The Roti was nice crispy and fresh. The chicken Curry was a piece of chicken with curry. Overall, the curries were super flavorful.

I finally got to try this hyped spot on a Saturday without a crazy line. It's got a cute small stall area for a mall court food spot. I liked the milo decor & it made me get the drink There's not much service involved since it's mostly kiosk for self order. Only time there's interaction is picking up your food. I wish I asked for more napkins from the get go. The curry with the fresh naan tastes absolutely heavenly. The Hainan chicken was not bad, probably a 7.5/10 for me since there's many Hainan chicken spots around this area. The drink is a bit expensive for what it is, but cute!

This is their second location in LA. This venue is at the Shops in Santa Anita's food court. The food is pretty much the same as their main restaurant in Alhambra but with a smaller menu. We got the Hainan chicken rice and it was delicious. The portion could have been a little bigger. We also got the spicy beef rendang with roti. The roti was buttery, flaky and divine. So was the rendang sauce and the beef was very tender. This is also a small dish, portion wise. I got the Malaysian coffee and that was the only negative. It was awful. It was bitter and tasted burnt. I would not recommend it.

I was a huge fan of their main location in Alhambra, and was super excited for this location to open in the Santa Anita mall. It adds a nice variety to the food court, and the food is nearly identical to the main location. You order on the tablet and the food comes out pretty quickly.

Not sure about the mixed ratings here on the Arcadia food court Ipoh. First off, it's awesome we can get Hainan Chicken at a mall in LA now haha. Second it was juicy, moist and good flavor- as good as the original location. Thirdly, my order came out fairly fast- we just had to get to the initial soft opening hurdles and boom- fast food people. Fourth- you can get it for around $15 bucks, that's so reasonable in this economy! We got the charsiu rice too and it was good. Lastly, my only other thought is I wish I had more chicken.

Good portion, ready fast despite the crowd, and nice staff. Unfortunately, the beef rendang lacked flavor. Heard the original location's food is better. I really hope they get their food to the level of their first restaurant. Great carry out containers though! Typical mall food court ambiance

This was my first time trying Ipoh Kopitiam, and I thought it was pretty good! I got the Malaysian Style Roast Chicken Rice and tried a bit of my friend's Kaya Toast. I thought both were pretty good but quality, especially for the price and convenience of being at the mall. Obviously, if you want the real experience, you should go the actual restaurant in Alhambra, but I thought this was a good and quick substitute.

If this is your first time at an Ipoh establishment, do not try this spot before the sit down restaurant in Alhambra. You'll get the real experience there. This one is located inside Santa Anita mall food court. It is pretty much what you expect from food court takeout food. There's a self service kiosk where you select your items and pay. We came on a Monday and glad there was no wait bc I've passed by recently and there was a line, I would not line up and wait to eat this for the price and presentation. Their chicken rice is good but it's not like wow I must come here specifically for it. There's so many other places to get chicken rice nowadays. I really dislike how greasy oily my hands were by the time I opened up all the sauces inside the takeout box.

Stopped by on Saturday, 02/08/26 for the first time during lunch with my mom. This place is FINALLY open! The OG location in Alhambra is bigger than this place. Please be aware that this mall location's menu is limited (i.e., no noodles, just rice). When we ordered, there was no line; however line started getting longer soon after. Ordered the following: - 1 Singapore Style Hainan Chicken Rice = $15.90 - 1 Rendang = $15.90 SUBTOTAL = $31.80 TAX = $3.34 OVERALL TOTAL = $35.14 The portions were huge and we took our meals to go. If you are looking for an authentic, Malaysian-style foodie experience with an extensive menu options of entrees, drinks, and desserts, then this mall location is not your ideal place. You would have to go to the one in Alhambra.

This Malaysia eatery inside the Santa Anita mall has to be one of the best places to eat at the mall. I'll drive 30 miles again for this experience! This mall has to be the most well-kept malls in Los Angeles county and also has the best options for food around it and inside of it. At Ipoh Kopitiam I ordered their famous Hinanese Chicken Rice, their Pineapple Bun for dessert, and a Malaysian Milk Tea with a bit of sugar to walk around with while I was shopping. The gentleman who helped me at the register was warm and smiled frequently. I enjoyed my interaction with him while he was explaining the menu. I'll be back with the rest of my family in two weeks. I can't wait to spend a whole day with them at this mall and then end our visit at here for some delicious food.

Hanian Chicken Rice, Roti pancake, & kaya toast

I've dined at the sit-down location in Alhambra before, and since this one is in a food court, you won't get quite the same experience. I ordered the Hainan chicken rice. The flavor was good, but the rice-to-chicken ratio was way off. I literally still had a bowl full of rice left after finishing all the chicken. The roti pancake was also very small, which felt a bit disappointing. I saved the kaya toast for breakfast the next day and it was just okay. Several items on the menu were also unavailable during our visit. Overall, it's still a decent place to try, but I would recommend going to the Alhambra location first so you can experience the full version, and then come here if you're looking for a quick express option.

I've heard good things about this spot and decided to see what the hype was all about. Located at the malls food court. Kiosk are available for you to order. I went with the curry chicken and hainanese chicken rice; DEFINETLY recommend the curry chicken; it's flavorful and good portion size; a tip: grab some banh mi/bread instead of rice. It'll be so much better dipping! Hainanese chicken rice was OK. Nothing special about it. I wished the cucumbers were pickled. Wanted to order the roast chicken rice but didn't know it was not yet available; hopefully soon! Overall, definitely worth a try and a nice addition to the food court.

Tried the Hainan chicken rice here and... it was just ok. The chicken was tender enough, but I really wish they used more dark meat or at least offered the option. What I got leaned pretty heavy on the lighter cuts, which made the whole dish feel a little flat. For $18 and "takeout" only, the presentation wasn't great. If you're takeout-only, the box is literally the first impression, so it should look a bit more put together. Instead, it felt like everything was dropped in quickly and hoped for the best. And the sauces... opening those little oily containers and trying to pour them over the chicken felt like something you wouldn't want to pay much for. Either dress the dish for me or give me an easier way to dip it...? My hands were way too oily by the end. Other places do the same dish for around $15 with better portions and presentation, so this was hard to justify. Service was also rough. It's a self-kiosk setup, which is totally fine, but when our order was ready, getting staff attention took forever. They called out my order, but I stood there for almost ten minutes trying to get someone to actually hand it to me. Honestly, I think their other location might be the better move since you can actually sit down and the whole experience seems smoother. I'd try that one before judging the whole brand.

If you spend over 50 dollars they give you a stamp card and once you collect ten stamps you get around 20 dollars off or a free dish. Definitely a good incentive to keep coming back. The staff also wears gloves when handling food. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my food from this establishment, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is pretty big since they share a parking lot with many other establishments. The parking spot sizes vary depending on where you park. There shouldn't be any issues finding a spot. Food: I ordered an Indonesian fried rice and pork satay skewers with rice. The Indonesian fried rice was really delicious. The Indonesian fried rice had some greens, eggs, garlic, dried shallots, dried onions, raw onions, green onion, chicken, and meatball. All cooked to perfection. There were a good amount of chicken and meatballs in the dish. Both were soft, juicy, tender, and full of flavors. I love that the hot rice was slightly crunchy. It reminded me of eating rice from a hot stone bowl. For the pork satay skewers, I was lowkey disappointed that they didn't have lamb this time. I originally ordered lamb satay skewers, but they told me they didn't have it so they asked me to order a different satay skewer. I opted for pork satay skewers. This dish normally comes with rice cakes, but I'm not a fan of the texture of rice cakes, so I asked them to give me plain white rice instead. They happily obliged and gave me a bowl of white hot and steaming white rice along with 5 pork satay skewers. The marinade for the pork satay skewers had hints of garlic, lemon, honey, sweet soy sauce, and peanut sauce. An extremely delicious marinade for the pork satay skewers. The grilled pork itself was very aromatic, tender, juicy, and flavorful. So incredibly umami! A good portion for the price point for both dishes. I do agree with other Yelpers that I felt extremely thirsty after eating both dishes. Perhaps they need to tone it down a bit on the MSG. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, happy, welcoming, and helpful. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum. Also, right when you walk into the restaurant, there is a very cute and small market. You can get some delicious Indonesian snacks and other things while you wait for your food. I highly recommend coming here and giving this lovely mom and pop Indonesian restaurant a try. Sooooo fricken good!
