Margaritas are just average; I had two during my visit- one had a slice of lime and one didn't. My Saloon Burger was tasty and cooked to a proper medium doneness. Don't waste your money. We had a 5 pm reservation everyone in our party did not get their food until 7:20. We waited over an hour and a half to get any food and then we only got 3 peoples meals out of 15. The rest of the food came over the next hour, all at different times. Passing through this past weekend and decided to stop to order takeout. I haven't been to the Sinkhole in a while so I was looking forward to this meal. I ordered the Drunken Bacon Cheeseburger: ale marinated burger topped with beer candied bacon, smoked cheddar cheese, mustard ale sauce, and LTO. I thought my burger was pretty good and was cooked perfectly at a medium temp. My husband order Mango Smash burger. We both normally order medium rare for burgers but decided to get it cooked medium this time. Unfortunately, my husbands burger was raw and we had to recook the burger once we got back home. He also ordered 6 bone-in wings and they were a little sad looking for the price we paid. Overall, his meal was disappointing. We'd give the Sinkhole a try again in a few months. read more

Passing through town for a hockey tourney so Sinkhole was a hood option for a family. Our server/waiter was friendly and efficiently took our orders and refilled our drinks without having to track him down. Wings (with bone) and onion rings were really good. No leftovers. Only complaint is the boneless wings resembled the "Anytizers" I make for my kids, frozen from a bag. The cook threw some shaved parm and garlic on them to make them look homemade. read more

Cool place next to a bowling alley that has great comfort food. The drink menu is pretty nice here--decent draft beer list and some cocktails. Our waitress was friendly and did a good job catering to our party of 6 hungry, thirsty ladies. The buffalo mac & cheese was tasty as were the corn nuggets. I got the patty melt, which was very good. Ordered "hot" wings and mozzarella sticks for the Penn State game. The wings were as dry as shoe leather and the "hot" sauce was as bland as hospital food. The mozzarella sticks tasted like stale cardboard that was left to get freezer burnt for the last decade, which is probably the last time the fryer oil was changed. read more

Been here twice, once by myself and once with family. The exterior and interior both have a western theme. You enter and head right into the bar/grill. The first time, I was alone and the place was quite dead, just a couple having drinks at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and was quick with my drink and the menu. After placing my order for some attempting suicide wings and a grilled chicken ceasar salad, I got to play the waiting game. I don't know why it took about 15 minutes for my wings and another 15 for a simple salad with some chicken on it. The wait was made up for with the deliciousness of the food; the wings were the perfect blend of heat and flavor and the chicken on the salad was cooked perfectly. The salad was one of the best I have ever had. The second time I visited, with my family on moving day, the experience was a little less thrilling. There was one other table besides us that had six people and they were on their way out. Despite this, we waited quite a while for our drinks, and then almost 45 minutes for our food. Did I mention that we were the only people in there by this time? Our order was a grilled chicken ceasar, a cobb salad, a steak sandwich, and an order of wings with ribs. The waitress was friendly enough, but kind of unattentive and didn't check on us except at the start and to deliver the food. The place is nice and clean.. It's right next to the bowling alley, so a great place to take a break. I ordered some chicken wings and was very disappointed. Very small wings and expensive for the size. They do have a wide selection of sauces and they taste fine but the size will not get any return visits from me unless I'm bowling. read more

Stopped in for a quick drink this afternoon. The place was completely empty. The bar manager there acted like we were burdening him. Nevertheless, my girlfriend asked for a bottle of Coors Light, which is a 12 ounce bottle for $2.75. He gave it to her. A minutes later she noticed a sign that said the special was a 16 ounce Coors Light draft for 2 dollars. She said isn't that a better deal? (Rhetorical question). The Sinkhole Saloon is a great place with a peculiar theme, the recurring sinkhole that has been the scourge of the site, complete with news articles on the walls. Gotta love the local flavor! I've heard that these guys are heavyweights when it comes to wings and they managed to exceed even my lofty expectations. Went for Peanut Butter BBQ and was not disappointed. Yep, that's right, PB/BBQ. What a treat for a serious wing aficionado! Tangy and creamy goodness all at the same time! No bleu cheese required. Buffalo Chicken Sandwich is excellent, good strong flavor and crisp too. Sinkhole Saloon Burger is another choice selection, the onion ring topper a nod to the establishments namesake. The ribs though are no joke, tender, flavor-packed at reasonable prices. Any locals who deem the Sinkhole Saloon their go-to spot should consider their themselves lucky the fare is leaps and bounds over most other bars. read more

Went there today with some of our family who frequents the restaurant regularly. I was pretty impressed. Only 4 stars because it took quite a while to get our food when we were the only table seated in the place with a half full bar and the bar tender had to serve us all. He Defiantly could have used some support. The wings were phenomenal!! I had the garlic hot and they may be the best I have ever had. The deck is awesome. Lovely place to hangout. The food? Well, that's another story. Very inconsistent. 3 of us had awesome steaks: juicy, flavorful, cooked as ordered. The sides? Pretty gross. The mac and cheese tasted like Kraft out-of-the-box, which was extra surprising since they have several different mac & cheese items on their menu. It would lead one to believe that their mac & cheese must be superb. The mashed potatoes were overcooked, dry, and mine looked like someone used a drinking glass or jar to smash them down onto the plate. The indentation from the glass was on the potatoes. The fried pierogies as an appetizer were very overcooked. The deck would be a great place to hang out and have drinks with friends, but I cannot recommend the food. I will say that the negative comment about service and food couldn't be further from the truth regarding our recent experience. Our tournament softball team ambushed the restaurant this past weekend while they already had another party scheduled. The staff didn't even flinch at the fact 20+ of us walked in. We were seated immediately and while we incorrectly informed our server they may be 10 more of us, that number grew quickly. We were under a time deadline and the staff accommodated the entire group to ensure we'd be able to make our deadline to return to the tournament. Even went as far as separating our checks for us. The food is bar food, and everyone who had wings raved at how good they were. I had French Dip with curly fries, the fries were crisp the sandwich very good. Prices very reasonable excellent selection of beers and the place is very clean. Everyone said they'd return if we ever play at the nearby facility again. My husband and I happened upon the restaurant last year while playing at the same facility. If we play there next year we'll definitely return. read more

Burgers no flavor, fries bland. Service good but food needs much to be desired. Asked for no onions, had them on it.

Corn nuggets were very good. Pork chops, vegetable medley and fries were a hit too. Southwest rice was a bit dry but had great flavor. Crab cakes had lots of crab meat but you tasted Old bay more than you did the crab. I also found several shells. They also had an apple cider malt beverage on draft which tasted like a cross between a beer and an apple cider. Pretty good for someone who does not like the taste of beer. read more

My girlfriend and I go to the Sinkhole at least twice a month. We always receive amazing service, especially from Jillian. She is prompt, attentive and always good for a recommendation for food or beer. We also enjoy when Meghan waits on our table as she is friendly and fun. We both enjoy the food (favorites include Pork BBQ, French Dip, Wings and the Fries are fresh cut and awesome) and have had good luck with whatever we choose. We have never experienced the wait that other reviewers mentioned. Of course with the friendly wait staff, attentive drink service and free popcorn I would not mind a wait. The Sinkhole runs many great daily specials and participates in local area events. Overall the Sinkhole is a great small town eatery. read more

I'm only giving this place 1 star, because of the management. I was having a drink with a friend of mine and a younger lady sitting next us with some of the men that worked there were talking. She has light strawberry blonde hair. A ginger most likely. The things that were coming out of her mouth about her employees were awful. This isn't the first I've been here and I have talked to the staff plenty of times and most of them seem like good people to have. The things that came out of her mouth about them.. I hope all the employees see this and know you should not have a manger talk about you guys this way and should seek other employment where you will be treated with respect. I know a girl who use to work here and this isn't new. Maura would be fine with her one week and the next if she made her upset or maura didn't like something she would take a day or two off her schedule. That was her income to support herself. You don't mess around with that on people. Those games are for children and if you aren't grown to be in that position then you shouldn't be in it at all. I'm just disgusted by this women and hope they either fire her or someone put her in her place. The food is decent. It all depends on who is cooking on how long you will have to wait. The two bartenders Suzette and Tara seem really nice and were a pleasure to talk to when we dined there. A man was there in the morning shift who doesn't come off with a good vibe when he spoke to us, but overall the place would succeed with different management. read more

I really enjoy going to the Sinkhole. It has a great interior and exterior and the wings and burgers and fries are very good. Some of their food is not the greatest though, it just depends what you order. Their waitresses/waiters are very friendly and provide good service. They have the best deck for any restaurant in the area and I love going here in the summer for a few beers and wings on their patio. Overall, a good place to eat. read more

The burger i got from here was fantastic, but my sister got the mac and cheese and said it was really bland. The waitress took forever to bring the bill and there was nearly no one there.
