I met a friend for breakfast at Funk's Restaurant and it was another great experience. She ordered the Benedict fries and I got the smoked salmon Benedict served on a croissant, and both meals were HUGE and absolutely delicious. The portions here are no joke and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. We also had a slice of peanut butter pie made by Lisa, and her desserts are always amazing. If you see one of her desserts on the menu, it's worth saving room. Breakfast is honestly my favorite meals to get at Funk's. I've also been for brunch before and that's great too. They have a big menu, lots of beers on tap, and some really good specialty cocktails. The only thing to note is that when it gets really busy it can feel a little congested and noisy, but overall the atmosphere is comfortable and has a really good vibe. I can't remember our server's name, but he was super friendly, personable, and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. Funck's has been a family favorite restaurant for my entire life, with gatherings and small meals over the years. In recent years it's been updated and modernized, but the front dining area still feels the same. The back area that used to be the banquet hall is now a bar and casual dining area. Funck's got into craft beer and has a great tap list, ranging from national favorites to a lot of local and regional craft. Their food menu is varied with something for everyone. Prices are reasonable for the area and a night out. I've been many times but recently came for a family meal that was on bingo night. We all had meals, tried some craft beer, and played bingo. Our server was new but tried her best and we had a great experience. My only slight disappointment was a lot of the beers I wanted to try were out, with nothing to replace them. I ate an autumn salad with Brussels sprouts and loved it; other family had fish, soup, and cake. All the food was a hit. If you're looking for a family dining experience with quality food and ingredients, plus a good beer selection, this is a great option in Palmyra. read more

We recently visited here when we went to Hershey PA for family vacation! We had Tabitha as our waitress and she was SUPER helpful with the menu as well as local knows she helps us with tricks/must knows for Hershey too! We got the cheesesteak egg rolls (not something we would normally order) but it was AMAZING! The pretzel app was delicious for main courses we got meatloaf(my FIL loved it and still talking about it), BBQ burger, stir fry special and a smash burger as well as kids meal chicken nuggets with fries! We then finished with the half baked cookie that was delicious- mouth watering!! They have happy hour with drinks apps and meals!! The environment there was relaxing and unique, very clean!! We ordered via door dash. The items arrived very quickly so we were optimistic. I ordered the mozzarella moons. They were a slice of mozzarella cheese in stale breading that was ice cold. Funck's is a well know establishment. It's been here for years and doesn't seem like it's going anywhere anytime soon. There are two different sides of the restaurant, one near the bar and the other in the front of the house. The front of the house has a family style diner feel to it with bright lights and happy hometown faces. The bar area on the other hand has a little bit lower light and has that almost of romantic date night feel to it. Overtime the food has been perfected here so you're not going to get something off the menu that hasn't been tried and tested for years. There's no experimentation here. If you're looking for a brunch buffet not far from Hershey, I definitely recommend Funck's. It's not too expensive and they have several choices of dishes. You can also pick a la carte menu. Besides that, they have choices of cocktail drinks. My husband had blood Mary and it was served with celery and bacon. Plenty of seatings but it can be filled up really fast on Sunday morning. Service was great. Our waitress was attentive although she told us wrong soup menu for the buffet. Buffet includes chips and beef with gravy, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, toast, hash brown,made-to-order omelette and waffles, bacon. You can customize your omelette with the fillings. You can also get salad, Mac and cheese, barbecue meatballs, Chilli, and dessert (fresh fruit, red velvet cake) Chilli was very good and generous with meat, perfect for a cold day. My husband and I visited Funk's for the Sunday Brunch Buffett. We were greeted and seated promptly only to have our server have an astonished look on her face while she came to our table caring drinks for the people that were seated there, but were at the buffett. Apparently the hostess forgot she had already seated another couple there. After moving to another booth we put in our drink order and headed to the buffett. The "buffet" is lined in front of the bar with an omelet station. Selection was very limited with just the traditional eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, as well as 2 soups, meatloaf and a pasta dish. Dessert was very minimal and there was cantaloupe and honey dew for a fruit option. Items were not labeled very well, the meatloaf was pretty much inedible as it just tasted like fillers and had kind of a grayish color. The chicken corn noodle soup with rivels was a think goopy mess but didn't taste to bad. The other soup had no label and it was thick as well. Very dissapointed in the tiny muffins offered for "dessert ". The service was good and the ambience was more suited for evening dinner than breakfast and it was just really dark in that area of the restaurant. Definitely not the best place for breakfast, we will go elsewhere. read more

This restaurant is an absolute miss! We tried this place because they advertise on the interstate 81 highway. They are over 6 miles off the highway. We came here on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered the steak and cheese eggrolls for an appetizer, and the fish and chips for my meal. Both were over fried, and completely inedible. The fish and chips came with 3 pound of fried, and 1 small piece of fried fish. They tasted like burnt grease, and had dark brown patches on them from burned grease over frying. I called the manager over. and he stated that they were over fried the minute he looked at them. Instead of offering to remake the items, or take them off the bill, he took half off the fish and chips ($ 10), but they completely inedible. What was he thinking. The server had attitude the minute we walked in. She was upset she was working on a Sunday. The tarter sauce slid right off the plate from all the grease, and fell on the floor. The server saw this, but wouldn't come over to help. I was on my hands and knees cleaning the floor. It took 10 minutes to get another tarter sauce, but the fish was inedible anyway. To my followers: Do not stop here. Some of the worst food in the 12 years of reviewing restaurants. Almost everything is fried and inedible. No one cares here at the restaurant. I wouldn't even call this a restaurant. Keep going to the next interstate exit. read more

Everything started off great. Apps came out fast and were very good. However, it took a while for our meals to come out and two of them came out extremely cold and one came out wrong. We also got two orders of sweet potato fries, one came out before the other and did not seem to be all the way cooked. They offered to either microwave or remake the food. We asked for it to be remade. The one that came out wrong initially was remade and brought out ice cold and still wrong. Instead of getting it remade a third time, we just decided we were done as we live two hours away and wanted to get home. Our server was very helpful with all of this even though it was only her third day working there. We asked for a manager who came over and asked what he could do for us. He ended up comping the bill but did not come back over to tell us this. Extremely disappointing. Too focused on their decor and not the quality of their food. read more

We went just recently this new year and things haven't changed a bit. How is it you're supposed to have 54 taps of beer and yet you're out of a LOT of them? You own 11 restaurants in the area, including TJ Rockwells, Rising Sun bar, etc.... and you can't even keep beer in stock for your original restaurant? Not only that, but charging what you do for burgers and they're smaller than a McDonalds single hamburger? I just can't see how they stay in business. Seriously, what happened to this place? Don't blame it on the help, because the people working there are trying and doing a good job. We will not be back unless there's entertainment that we'd like to see.
