Would come back literally just for the complimentary bruschetta appetizer and supremely friendly service, it is in fact THAT good, but can't stay away from the expertly prepared filet, cooked to perfection, and incredible brussels sprouts. We had a reservation for Friday night five of us. We started out having a cocktail at the bar. The old-fashioned was fantastic. Then we proceeded on time for our reservation, our server was Rebecca. She was kind and attentive gave great suggestions to the menu. Some things we ordered were wedge salad, fillet, pork chop, mild pork chop, shrimp, and lobster, mashed potatoes, onion rings, and potato croquettes, as well as cookie skillet, gelato everything came out delicious. We started talking to table next to us, and was introduced to one of the owners having dinner with his family we had a great conversation and wish them good luck. Made over an hour hike through a monsoon to come dine and I would do it 100 times over. The ambiance was unique giving an old school steakhouse vibe with a modern touch. Patio seating available however I sat inside at a window seat given the weather but it cleared up and I had an awesome view of the manasquan inlet! The service was on point and even had the chance to speak with the kitchen manager who educated me on how they cook their steaks. I obviously went with a ribeye and was impressed with the open flame flavor! Great menu with specials and a vast wine list covering several continents. Had to finish it off with an espresso martini that was top notch. Great summer spot and highly recommend if down the shore and looking for a steak dinner. I will never go back. It was just one dish after the other and if at least one was good, I would just assume that maybe it was a poor choice on my end but nothing was worth the price they were charging. A last-minute change of heart led us to the regular offerings, a decision I can only describe as inspired. My New York Strip was a revelation, a perfectly cooked and seasoned masterpiece that eclipsed even the lauded version at Charlie's of Bay Head. My wife's Scallops with Mushroom Risotto were equally impressive, a harmonious blend of textures and flavors that again surpassed the competition. Sinner's, it seems, has raised the bar. A less gracious establishment might have faltered, but Sinner's owner rose to the occasion graciously comped our entire meal. Don't normally write reviews but this was so absurd I had to. We had a reservation for 6 PM. We were not able to be seated until 20 minutes later because the table wasn't ready. Kinda defeats the point of having a reservation but we didn't think too much about it. We are seated and the waiter didn't even come by to greet us or ask for drinks for a good 5-10 minutes. Once we finally got our drinks, he disappeared and we were sitting and waiting to finally make our order. We asked the waiter to take our photo and he said he will have someone else do it, and he leaves, with nobody coming by to take our photo. While we wait for our food, we watch him take a photo of this table of mothers and daughters like it was nothing! Excuse me?! Time goes by and we ask him again to take a photo. So I was down the shore for Labor Day weekend and craving a premium steak . Let's start with the good Our waitress Olivia was top notch . Attentive, timely, friendly, and polite . That's about it. Im kind of a steak connoisseur, and have eaten at some of the best steakhouses in the NJ/NYC area . My tomahawk ribeye for 2 was majorly disappointing, especially at its premium price point of $110. I give every steakhouse a chance despite the negative reviews . But they were spot on . I asked for medium and they got that right, but the sear was horribly charred and literally tasted burnt . The quality of the meat was mediocre at best , flavor was bland . The garnishes were basic and did not add that kick that I wanted on it . Again I was sorely disappointed. I guess I'm spoiled by premium dry aged steaks of other steakhouses of greater reputation. The sides I ordered were truffle fries which turned out to be regular French fries with some cheap truffle powder . Edible but disappointing. The bacon wrapped Brussels sprouts didn't have bacon on them and the Brussels sprouts were undercooked. I eventually did find tiny bits of bacon at the bottom of the plate which were tiny cubes and hard as a rock . It was comical . We ordered onion rings that were clearly forgotten, we asked twice and each time was told they are coming, like somehow it was an unreasonable request after about 40 minutes...Seafood Fra Diablo was good, seafood appeared and tasted fresh altho not too plentiful and the pasta was a stuck together lump in the bottom of the bowl, hubby got skirt steak which was minimal and he said wasnt so great. Highlight of the evening was the cinnamon bundt cake, we hardly ever order dessert so that was a really nice treat, served warm almost too warm where it might burn your mouth lol we let it cool down first but it was delicious. Probably won't go back again, our waitress while appearing attentive seemed to be somewhat rude, the wait staff was continually trying to remove our plates as we were eating out of them, not one person but 3 and I mean continually that was a Real pain, the place was half empty in the dining room so it wasnt as if they were waiting for our table. I ordered the jumbo lump crab cake appetizer & the sinner's house salad. My husband had the clams casino & seared halibut. For dessert, we split the cookie skillet. All the dishes were delicious! Definite 5 out of 5 stars. The timing of how long it takes to receive the food is definitely a bit off - it took over half an hour to receive our cookie skillet. But - the restaurant has been open for a week, so totally understandable and I'm sure they'll work on it. Reason for not giving five stars ... when we sat, my husband ordered a bourbon on the rocks. At the very end of the night, we get the bill and there is a charge on the tab for "rocks". We question this and it turns out the restaurant's rationale is "you get a bigger pour when you order on the rocks". Since when!?! On the rocks means over ice, not more alcohol!! Super shady and a terrible way to end the night. Talk about leaving a bad taste in our mouths. Instead of leaving Sinners Steakhouse on a high note, we left super annoyed. read more

Cowboy Steak Entree: big portion, cooked to temperature, flavor on point. I didn't finish it, but reheated well the next day. Presentation a 4, flavor a 5. Just need some color on the plate, maybe old school parsley bunch or half tomato with Parmesan encrusted to bring it to a 5. Since we are at a Steak House, Sides need to be mentioned. Mashed Potato: No longer called "Smashed Potato" or as a like to call them Lazy Man's Mashed Potatoes, were creamy and flavorful as they should be. Presentation 3.5, Flavor 5. They need some garnishing, chives, cheese, or some bacon bits, the all white looks is not in. Maybe a lite browning on top. Cream of Spinach: Presentation 4 Flavor 4. Due to being full I did not try them till the next day but was excellent. Lobster Mac N Cheese: Presentation 5 Flavor 3.5/4. The presentation was beautiful, creamy with some serious height to a side dish. The flavor was very good, but needed some additional flavors, even suggested some Asiago to the manager and if he is reading this, my bad, I should have said Gruyère and Parmesan. Onions Rings: Presentation 5 Flavor 5 They were light and fluffy, definitely fresh battered. Service: was on point, with a lot of attention, drinks were on target and don't laugh but a great lemonade! Dinning Room: very modern steak house feel. I know there has been complaints about volume while seated, but they seem to have done a lot of remodeling to reduce the noise level so on my second visit the noise level has been greatly reduced. Overall very good job and enjoyable night with friends. I could not hear my husband talk across the table until some tables emptied out. The service was excellent and our server asked us if things were ok At least 5 times throughout the meal. I ordered the crab bisque which had no taste and barely any crab which I have seen other customers have written about. It is true. No taste. Blah. My husband had to tuna tarre tarre and said he would not order it again. For dinner I had surf and turf. The lobster tail tasted delicious but it was small. It says 5 oz but seemed smaller. The filet mignon was so dry that I had to drown each bite into the steak sauce provided which helped but it still tasted dry. My husband had the scallops with risotto and he said it was good. Also ordered cream of spinach which tasted good. I won't go back because the atmosphere is too dark and too noisy. Tables are also too close together. Also for the price you are paying the meat should melt in your mouth with flavor not be so dry. Do something to make the crab bisque better. It was tasteless. read more

Finally tried Sinners last night for the first time. I can honestly tell you that the halibut that I had was prepared perfectly! I almost got steak, but I had not had fish in so long I was craving it. It was a nice size, cooked to perfection, not seasoned too much, and it did not come with a sauce to hide the quality of the fish. There was a broth underneath of it with escarole and beans with some tomatoes perfectly proportioned, and the dish looked like a masterpiece when it came out. I like to order fish when I go out to eat, and this was excellent! My husband had the pork chop and loved it.
