Came across Sinya via DoorDash when craving Mediterranean! Portion size is definitely big enough to share or have leftovers for a couple of days. The meat was tender but wasn't as seasoned with the Mediterranean spices that makes it so very special. I would order again to see if it's a one-off experience. Will keep you posted...

The pita and hummus weren't as good as I remembered. The hummus flavor tasted different and kinda off this time. 5/10. The mixed entree had juicy meat, but both the meat and rice were missing the flavor I remembered. 7/10. The salted caramel tahini mocha mostly tasted like milk and barely had any espresso flavor. 3/10. The staff taking our order looked like they did not want to be there. 5/10 service. Vibes were still solid though, just a casual spot overall. 7/10.

Well packaged delivery. Fresh flavors and I appreciated the lemon wedges that were included in both the lentil soup and the tabouli. The tabouli was so delish! The falafel wrap was nice too as was the lentil soup

The food was great, service was good and they were very quick and efficient. The one thing I like about this place is that they use a very thin slicer to pull the gyros and you do not see a lot of places do that anymore. The thin gyros makes for such a nice wrap or sandwich. Please don't change that! The chicken is cooked nicely and has a little tartness to it which pairs nicely with the tahini and red sauce within the wrap. Overall, the place has great food at a great price and a great pick up spot if you're in the mood for some thinly sliced meats.

Wonderful, clean, quick, and such a great addition to Montrose. You go up to the counter to order and they'll bring it to your table. We were given some complimentary falafel which was delicious. The chicken shawarma wrap with waffle fries and mint lemonade are light and tasty.

Pretty solid middle eastern joint. The chicken was moist, the hummus is good with a healthy dap of olive oil on top. I think the salad could use a better dressing and I think the plate would greatly benefit from some kind of sauce accompaniment. Although, I am being a little nitpicky here.

Lentil soup was very good, creamy and savory, unlike the watered down some places have. No wonder they have 5 stars on Yelp. I've bookmarked this place for the next time I'm back in the neighborhood. Delish! They cater too, a bonus option for future parties. They have a nice no frill outdoor shaded seating, and the service is excellent!

Seriously so impressed with this place. I got the meal/platter and was pleasantly surprised by how much food I got. The quality was also top tier, and it came out hot and fast. I was able to get three meals out of this one order as the leftovers were plentiful. You can't beat the cost either. It's a really solid restaurant tucked away in the corner of River North. I would definitely go here more often if I lived closer but will definitely stop by anytime I'm on the area!

This place is excellent and is now one of my go-to spots when visiting Chicago. Food is delicious and prices are solid. I've gotten both the chicken shawarma wrap and the salad with chicken. Both were filling and hit the spot. Would absolutely get them again. Wish extra sauce wasn't extra as their hot sauce is delicious!

I decided to work from this café one day and it was a great spot to be productive. There was plenty of seating and charging ports available. They had free Wi-Fi and the noise was at a reasonable volume. They have a full breakfast menu in the morning, offering different coffee drinks and breakfast items. During lunch, you can order many classic Middle Eastern salads and sandwiches. I ordered the Fattoush salad and a side of pita bread. It was a huge portion and very delicious!

Needed to find a new Mediterranean restaurant since my old favorite Cafe Orchid closed down. Sinya is wonderful! Had the veggie entree which is a lot like Orchid's cold appetizer sampler. Yum! Hubby had the beef shwarma entree. Also yum! We did take out. There are a few tables indoors and a small outdoor seating area. Mostly a take out or delivery place. read more

First time ordering from Sinya a few weeks ago and it won't be my last! I ordered for pickup, got the beef shish kabob entree and baklava. The order was ready when expected and portion was huge I was able to eat for 2-3 meals! When looking at the menu the prices seemed a little high at first, but after coming home and seeing how much food it had I actually thought it was a great deal. The beef has amazing flavor and was even still juicy when I re heated the next day! The entree came with so much rice which was also delicious!! The pitas were fresh and hummus was so good I wish I had some right now. Highly recommend. I'm glad I splurged for the entree so I got to try so many things. read more

Better than my mother's Babaganush! There really aren't words to express how delicious and fresh the food from Sinya is. This little gem of a restaurant is the best thing to happen to Chicago recently. The owner is super warm and friendly. The restaurant and every inch of it including the kitchen is brand new and top of the line and the food! Fresh pita and mouthwatering Shawarma. This guy gets it. Just discovered one of the best Mediterranean spots in the city! They have their recipes down. Basically, everything on the menu is excellent. Falafel is pure perfection! It's fresh and super crispy. Shawarma is amazing! All the kabobs are delicious. Lentil soup is the best. You can tell they use higher quality food than most fast food places because everything tastes so good. They even bake their own pitas which I've never seen before. Their desserts are the bomb! Crispy baklava and homemade coconut cake are a must try. If you're into coffee and teas, their mint tea and Turkish coffee go well with the sweets! The space is warm and really well designed. The staff is nice and always smiling. I don't live in Roscoe Village but have been going out of my way to pick up some SINYA...trust me, it's worth it! read more

We are staying in Roscoe village for a long weekend, and decided to try the middle eastern food at Sinya for carry out. The food was excellent! And huge portions. We got falafel which was right out of the fryer and delicious, some beef and chicken kebabs, some gyro meat, and a chicken shawarma salad. We also had baba ganoush and lentil soup as sides too. All great! Definitely recommend! Owner is super nice as well, gave us a coconut cake because we had to wait a few extra minutes. Awesome service. read more

Absolutely blown away by this new spot in Roscoe village. Had the gyro sandwich (best around, and for the price once of the best in the city), chicken shawarma platter and falafel. Took a chance....and WOW!! Tried ordering from this place during Restaurant Week when they first opened but they were swamped with orders....so after seeing so many good reviews and knowing my daughter loves Mediterranean food, decided to order from their catering menu for her graduation party.. well this was a GREAT decision. Guests were all pleased with the well flavored food and as the host I was very happy with the portions! As for the owner and staff, they couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.. (and definitely recommend their iced minted lemonade as a refreshing drink when passing by)... I don't write many reviews...but this is one I am happy to do and want to have this restaurant stay for a very long time in the neighborhood. read more

We especially love the lentil soup, falafel and gyro sandwiches, Mediterranean salad with beef shawarma, and baklava. The owner grew up in the neighborhood so you are supporting a truly local business, which is important to us. We've been waiting for a go-to Mediterranean spot since moving to Roscoe Village a few years ago and the wait is over: Sinya is the best. While their food is good, apparently their side sauces are liquid gold as they won't give you any unless you ask and is not available in the restaurant to serve yourself. Completely ruins the meal as it is traditionally part of the cuisine. read more

I called them because I wasn't sure if the online version would be too slow. We were a group of three that came in Saturday night at 7 pm. It was moderately busy. The staff were all welcoming with smiles on their faces and attentiveness. Prices were fair for the amount of food you receive. Food portions are colossal so I would recommend one appetizer and one entree if you are a couple. They give you a complimentary dish. We ordered arayes with meat, meat toshka, mixed grill with baba ghanouj, fillet of basa fried, and mint lemonade. They also offer you fresh Arabic coffee before you leave. This is about a 4.5-5. -arayes with meat 4 - this was not bad. It's like a tamer version of the meat toshka. -meat toshka 5 - I prefer this over the arayes because they add the Syrian cheese. This one was bursting with flavor the moment you took a bite out of it. The minced beef and lamb just melt in the mouth. -mixed grill 5 - this came with 3 big skewers (shish kabab, kufta kabab, and chicken tawook. It also has tomatoes and onions to help cut down the meat when digesting. There are two heaping portions of biryani and saffron rice and baba ghanouj. The baba ghanouj was creamy and flavorful. It goes well with the pita bread. The meats were cooked medium well unless you want something. I think next time I'll ask for the shish kababs to be cooked medium rare or medium for a more juicy taste. The chicken tawook and kufta were both succulent. -fillet of basa fried 5 - the two pieces of basa fillet were astronomical. It also comes with two different kinds of rice. The fish was flaky, moist, and seasoned. Make sure you add the lemon and eat it with the sauce. -mint lemonade 5 - this was very refreshing after eating a heavy meal.

We are Roscoe Village residents and we've been doing our best to support local businesses, especially restaurants, during the pandemic. With so many places closing, it takes a lot of guts to open a new restaurant and these guys are more than deserving of your business. On our way to Fellger Park the other day, we were delighted to see that the Man-Jo-Vin's vacancy was replaced by Sinya. Finding a quality go-to/to-go Mediterranean restaurant is no easy feat and this place gets the job done! Ordered the gyros entree and falafel for delivery (totally meant to get the chicken shawarma too!). Our dinner arrived within 25 minutes and we were totally impressed with the quality and presentation of the food. Tender meat, perfectly cooked rice, and all the fixings/sauce/hummus you could wish for. The gyros was awesome and easily competes with any Greek town restaurant...I only wished they'd loaded our plates with more!! ;-) After joining the clean plate club, I felt compelled to call the restaurant to wish them good luck and welcome them the neighborhood. We love exploring different places to satisfy our cravings for this flavorful Middle Eastern delight, which is how we discovered Sinya. On this occasion, we decided to try the chicken shawarma wrap and the Kefta Kabob entrée. The chicken shawarma wrap was generously portioned and packed with bold, savory flavors. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary falafel and lemonade while waiting for our food, and both were delightful! Although I had ordered a mango juice, the owner kindly offered me a sample of their lemonade, which turned out to be a favorite of his, and I must say, I enjoyed both beverages. The gyro entree was generously portioned and incredibly satisfying. While I was tempted to finish it all, I exercised some restraint.
