I want to love sip, so badly... the food and coffee are great, but the service is just not up to par. The owner is amazing! Very kind and super knowledgable, however the other staff behave as if they don't want to help at times. A few times I've gone in and they're too busy gossiping or talking to notice customers have arrived. On two separate occasions I've had to remind them Ive ordered food, and am still waiting. I've also heard a handful of inappropriate conversations between staff members when dining-in. Additionally, they tend to run out of avocado quote often.. which is frustrating if you only go for the toast. Once they even put straight up guacamole onto the toast in an attempt to sell it as avocado toast. Another time they suggested I BRING MY OWN AVOCADO...? Not sure why the service is so dicey, but I only go here out of necessity these days, and don't dine in. read more

At Sip Java not only can you get various sizes of dishwater, you can get it either hot or cold, light or dark roast and just when you think how did I get so lucky get all this it comes with a side of attitude. Don't bother specifying how much milk or cream you want in your dishwater, the servers don't listen despite that when they came into this world, they are equipped with two ears. When I heard that Brew closed it's doors at this location I wasn't too concerned - they had really neglected it after the C&I location opened up. I figured another cool biz would open in it's place and I was right! I'm glad a big chain didn't snatch this location up. Instead we got another independent coffee spot in BPB! Awesome! I came in during the later part of the afternoon. The place was really packed - no where to sit really. There were all the usual characters: folks chatting each other up, others clicking on laptop keys and some simply reading while sipping their coffee. I went with an iced mocha - and it was solid. They use great coffee and the drink wasn't overly sweet. Really friendly/quick staff. Parking seemed a little more difficult than it used to be - possibly because the place was packed. But it's a large lot, so you are sure to find a space. read more

I ordered the good karma coffee, can't say I could taste the vanilla/caramel flavor too intensely but the coffee was absolutely perfect the way it was. I ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich as well. Sometimes cafes put fried eggs on their sandwiches and refuse to prepare them another way. Coffee: Excellent. I ordered a cold brew and my wife ordered an Electric Shock. They were great! The Electric Shock, especially, was a find. Food: Both of us got variants on the avocado toast. My wife bought the Greek toast and I had the Lox, both with eggs. It took about 40 minutes to get the bread, and it wasn't warm; we did ask about timeframe so that we could go, you know, do real life. In the end, we just had to ask for a box for our cold toast. As our drinks were made, I checked out the menus and what food they offered. Their prices look great for decent sized sandwiches. I was checking out the bakery case when I noticed a very large amount of fruit flies or drain flies floating around the food. Yikes. The drinks were great and I love the decor and the relaxing atmosphere. One table has a huge collection of board games underneath to play. Sip Java is my favorite coffee shop in Fort Lauderdale. They are located in a shopping center on US1, just a few minutes north of the Las Olas area. There is always ample parking. Even with the current social distancing rules they have ample seating space, both indoors and outdoors. The cashiers are always friendly, and most know the menu well. They have several varieties of non-dairy milk such as soy and almond. You can expect to pay around $4-$5 for a specialty coffee, but the price is worth it as they are the best in the Fort Lauderdale area. If you order food, they give you a number to take to your table, and the food is brought out to you. The food is every bit as good as the coffee, especially the breakfast sandwiches. Several (but not all) of the tables have large surge protectors nearby to plug in electronics. There is a bookshelf in the back of the store with a small collection of books for those interested. TLDR: my favorite coffee shop in the Fort Lauderdale area, 5/5! read more

Will not be back. We live right around the corner so wanted to try out local coffee shop. The girl behind the counter didn't know what a Nitro cold brew was, despite it being on menu. Then, she asked ME how to make it?! Another girl came over and exclaimed they actually don't have it anymore (no signs anywhere and STILL ON OVERHEAD menu. Not to worry, I'll just change my order. I ordered the traditional latte. It was roasted and very bold. I like my coffee strong so that was great. Loved the atmosphere here. They have plenty of tables and couches where you can sit and enjoy your coffee or get some work done. There is also an outdoor seating area. Service is great, baristas are friendly and are happy to make suggestions. I loved the modern feel to it, not to mention that it is bright. Also, they have family games under some of the tables (e.g. Monopoly, Scrabble, etc) great for when you are coming with a group of friends. For now, I only gave it a 4 star since it is mostly based on their service and only one drink. I will have to come back to try the other drinks and also the pastries. Came here on a Sunday and the staff was very helpful and patient since it was our first time here. I had the Good Karma drink and it was delicious. My daughter and I shared the avocado toast and the bread was so tasty and hearty. My other daughter had a BLT, which wasn't on the menu but they were happy to make for her. I was in the plaza picking up dinner when I stumbled upon this gem! First impression: spacious and instant thoughts of bringing my laptop to do some work because of all the cozy chairs. Order: I ordered a spicy chai latte with soy milk and it was extremely good. They mean it when they say it's spicy due to the hints of ginger. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I feel like non dairy milk shouldn't be costing $0.80 cents more than if I were to just get regular milk. It's always a plus when the coffee shop offers it at no charge. A bit on the pricier side, but then again the regular size looks like a large, so....it's however you want to look at it! Overall, I'd definitely be back to do some work and just sip on some lattes. Looking forward to trying the matcha latte next visit! read more

Coffee is okay, service is terrible. There are plenty of other coffee shops in town that offer better service and more flavor. I have tried this coffee shop a few times over the past 5 years. I've never had a great experience with service. I thought I'd give it another shot today, but again left disappointed. Before ordering I asked if they took Apple Pay, I was told they did. When I went to pay the reader kept saying someone about "one card". After the 2nd time the barista making drinks rudely told me that I should only have one card up on my Apple Wallet and it was my fault it wasn't working because I was trying to use multiple cards. I only have one card set up on my Apple Wallet and have never had a problem using Apple Pay. After receiving my drink I looked around for a straw but only saw metal ones for sale for $1. I asked if I could have a straw, the barista again spoke down to me while pointing out the straws. Kindness and a smile can go a long way! read more
