THINK BEFORE YOU EVER CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT WITH HECTOR. I was a client for almost 20 years. Never would I think he would turn on me just because I had to cancel an appointment last minute. Well, he did. I was stuck at a doctor's appointment (they were an hour behind) in Bohemia before my appointment w/Hector. It was out of my control and I called the salon 40 minutes before my appointment time. When I called, Laura said "you're coming for a blow out right?". WRONG. I made the appointment for a trim. It wouldn't have made a difference if I'd gone to the appointment; it wasn't even for what I requested, and I would've had to cancel anyway. I re-scheduled for the following Saturday at 3:15. I drove from Commack to W Babylon, only to find out Hector erased me from the schedule. When Laura asked why I was there, I told her, "you put me down for 3:15, I called on April 23". She said, "I know what happened; I'm going to let him tell you" and she started to walk into the back. I told her not to bother because Hector had already seen me and didn't wave or say hello. She said he took me off the schedule. I was stunned and furious. Not even a phone call. And he didn't have the guts to tell me to my face. This was a man who when he had rotator cuff surgery, I lent him my sling. We exchanged stories about our moms and he would tell me I needed to stress less. He always asked how my sister and nephews were. And because of one cancellation for the WRONG type of appointment, he lost me as a client. What a way to act just from a last minute cancellation, that happened ONLY once in 20 years. read more

Just wanted to say thank you for a great experience. I asked Hector to give me fohawk hair cut. He did amazing job. I love it. The atmosphere is very friendly. The salon is clean. I would recommend this place to everyone! You should call to secure an appointment with someone just in case but I believe walk-ins are okay. I definitely going back again. read more

I have been going to this salon for many years and they are excellent. I have left with a huge smile every time, *especially* the times I took the biggest risks on changing my look. Hector has done wonders for my hair and for many of my friends over the years. Emma is also excellent, she dyed my hair today a bold burgundy color that I love, I feel like a star! They handled all of the women in my wedding party a few years ago and were fantastic about it, hair and makeup! And they are all always so kind, offer you coffee or tea and a listening ear, and lots of laughs. Love them, highly recommend! read more

You couldn't pay me to go back to this place. I was told the wrong information over the phone, the girl washing my hair didn't speak a lick of English so when I told her it was too hard she didn't understand me. I think I got whiplash from how hard my head was flying back and forth while she washed. And she probably broke skin from scratching so hard. I sat down, the woman brushing my hair asked when the last time I brushed my hair was bc it was so knotty. She obviously didn't see the head trauma I just received while getting washed. The clincher-I couldn't get a final price on what i was getting. Starts at $20 when I ask 5 times doesn't do me any good. I walked out. read more

My husband and two small children love coming here. Hector and Sonia are our favorites but they are all terrific. They get my color right every time. My first AND last time here. I have short hair but made it very clear that I didn't want to end up looking like a boy. I thought it was because I was a first time customer that the owner, Hector, asked what I was having done today. I soon realized it was because my haircutter didn't speak any English and Hector had to relate what was to be done. He used cutting methods & tools unfamiliar to me.. I didn't have any way to communicate with him. What was I going to do? Yell out stop or hope he knew what he was doing. I chose the latter. Big mistake. I did express my concern to Hector before I left and he felt I should go home, blow it out, and it would look fine. Isn't that why I went there? Well I did try as he suggested only to realize this haircut was a disaster. I called wanting Hector to try to fix it . He said "It's too short to cut any more" Really!!!!! He did ask if I wanted my money back. I told him it wasn't about the money! He suggested I come back in a few weeks. No! That's never going to happen. read more

i went in their to have braids done and they came out that night when i needed to have them in for my friends wedding the next day and there always giving you stares and feel like their saying something behind your back. and when i called up the next day they told me you could of took them out we cant help and hanged up. i will never ever go back read more
