Let me start off by saying, I'm soo particular with my hair and I do my research before I ever step in a salon with any inspo because I want to make sure the stylist I go to has experience and knows what they are doing. We began this journey in another salon with Emily nd I've followed her into her Salon, I mean can you even imagine the growth and hard work? You're own salon in the city?! Ok so let me begin this experience. I've been with Emily for 4 years now when I initially wanted to go copper. I researched for 2 months in search of someone that wasn't overpriced and had the skills. I learned quickly that I was looking for a colorist. And Emily was just that. I have hair that many people would called raven colored... naturally. I worried about the impact of bleach in my hair as I hadn't colored it in 10 years. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Emily walked me through a very thorough consultation and at the end asked me how I felt and if I wanted to continue with the session. I accepted because I felt confident in her work and her reassurance and validation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After some hours and constant foil checks and just body checks overall (asking me if I wanted to stretch, needed a break, water, food and a drink) my hair was at a comfortable level where she felt she didn't fry it but it could be lifted safely. Many will lighten you fast slab some stuff on and send you on your way just for you to wash style and it's falling apart. This was not that kind of horror story. We applied the color and it looked beautiful. As I went with her I learned so much about coloring and detail. Emily was and is the best at it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Our sessions are not only satisfying in the hair aspect, but we've shared so many funny stories and memories that Siren Salon is a place I go to decompress and visit what feels like old friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is great too, the other stylist make it feel like they've serviced you with how friendly they are. She does amazing long layers and stunning color that is both sophisticated enough for my age and the workplace but satisfies my edgy retired punk rocker-ness tastefully. I cannot say enough good things about Melinda at Siren Salon. Melinda is my favorite colorist I have ever had and I've been coloring my hair for the last 10 years. Melinda is truly an artist. I came to her with a hair dream -- take my natural dark hair with a grown out balayage and make it a dimensional platinum blonde. She helped lay out a plan for me and after a few sessions of METICULOUS WORK got me to my DREAM HAIR! She is so thorough and a real perfectionist making sure that my hair was exactly what I wanted every session. I've been going to Micah for a while now, so of course when she moved to Siren, I had to follow! I have thick, wavy, unruly hair, and in the past I've struggled to find a stylist who knows what to do with it, but Micah gets me right every single time. She's also extremely warm and friendly, and easy to talk to about just about anything. Our conversations typically center around restaurants, Netflix guilty pleasures, and dogs. All the best things in life. Speaking of dogs, Siren has a resident pup named Ozzie who is super cute and sweet and might visit you and hang out near your chair if you're lucky. Rounding out the immaculate vibes of this salon are cool decor, playlists that are always on point, bubble water (my weakness), and occasionally also snacks! I would sell my SOUL to Emily Skelskey. Emily has been doing my hair for the past two years and has always exceeded my expectations by a mile and a half. I was SO excited when she started Siren Salon. She has an incredible talent when it comes to blended, lived in color. It's actually sorcery. I could not recommend Siren, or Emily, enough! The entire team is so friendly and goes above and beyond to make your hair experience great. What I love most about Emily is that she prioritizes hair health. Previous colorists would fry my hair with strong developers to bring me from a deep brown to bright blonde, whereas Emily is patient and gentle and achieves even better, more natural results. People are shocked when they find out I'm not a natural blonde. Nothing will ever make me leave Siren Solan, unless Emily leaves herself! Even then, I'd consider moving just to have her do my hair (not even kidding). Truly the best hair in San Francisco. I always leave feeling like a million bucks and then some.
