I order steak you buy the bar or u don't get a salad or a veg don't eat potatoes so waste of money

A typical buffet. Debated between 2 and 3 stars. Nothing amazing and nothing horrible. Food that is mostly moderate in flavor. We did not have the steaks but our party tried most of the dishes on the buffet. Nothing had a wow factor. Standard place for someone who wants large portions, wants food fast, or has a group where everyone wants something different. Definitely cleaner than the Sirloin Stockade from years past. read more

My Fiancee, my future step daughter and I stopped here on our way to St. Louis from Springfield, Mo. Even though this is a buffet-style restaurant, we had a friendly server who kept our table clean and our glasses full. The food was good as I sampled a good bit of the offerings. I have been here quite a few times and i was never disapointed. It seems like a family owned buffet which are just trying to make some good food. They could have a bit more selection but what they do have is quite good, including the all you can eat steak (you can watch them cook them right there on the grill) which is quite good. Stopped to check out the new building and hubby wanted a salad bar. $40 for a family of 4, but half the hot food was cold and the first bite of my sons food had a giant hair in it. Set the tone for the rest of the meal and none of us even wanted to eat after that. Salad was dripping wet, which makes for a gross salad. Even as buffets go, we were disappointed. read more

Considering what it is and the fact that it is in a small town, it's a good meal and set-up. No complaints after eating here several times.

The buffet food is okay and the menu is same old same old stuff. The charge you 10.99 at night and on the weekend for same stuff. They need better selection and choices. I was coming from branson to st. Louis and had a quick lunch in this buffet. I did not get enough time to try most of their items. I tried their fried and roast chicken which I liked a lot. Turkey with gravy was beautiful. Turkey was cooked perfectly and was so tender it just melted in my mouth. Roast beef was nice. I did not like their salmon fillet, it was over cooked and thats was the only fish item on their buffet. This buffet has very small number of items but all the food looked very fresh and other then the salmon so far I have no complains. If I visit to rolla again , for sure I will go there again.. read more

Disgusting. Where to start.. The steaks were kept in water, then thrown on a nasty grill and left black residue on your plate. The tongs for the salad were IN the lettuce.so a manager used his BARE hand to fish them out. The butter tasted like, I don't know how to describe it, but like chemicals. This was an excellent stop for our family with 17 month old twins. The restaurant was clean. The food was decent for $7.99, and the kids were free! Buffets are a great option for our twins, as their preferences change every day. We would definitely stop again on our way through Rolla. read more

I've eaten here many times over the years. It's progressively gotten worse over that time. Very disappointed.

Cool places, eaten there many times, the only wish I have is if they can offer more different choices of food in the buffet.

We have been waiting for months to see this restaurant open up after their fire. I know it will take time to restore to previous high quality dining experience. But here is a list of concerns that until they are remedied will not have me back in the restaurant. 1. The food was excellent. 2. Parking was crowded and needs clearly marked travel patterns. 3. The entrance and exit was horrible. You need a solid wall or half wall to guide the guests to the registers. 4. There is no easy way to get to the buffet or to return to your seats. What should have been a one way traffic pattern was two way and too narrow to accommodate. Very difficult to enjoy your meal. I know it will take time and I will give it another try in a month or so to see if any of these items have been corrected. If not, I will not return for a third round. Thank you for listening. I eat there regularly . The price that you pay for an all you can eat buffet is nearly the same that you would pay at some fast food joint and the food is far superior. I can not remember ever having a bad dining experience there and I have eaten there for many years , both for lunch and dinner. read more

I like this place when my dad comes down. They have all- you - can- eat steaks there and he loves that! I have been to better Sirloin Stockades,but this one is decent. One thing that bothers me is that our server always forgets to fill my glass, but other than that it is a nice place to bring family. read more

On recommendation of the hotel and after reading reviews on Yelp and another site, the wife and I stopped here for dinner while traveling through Rolla on business with the state university. We knew from reviews and from our motel that it is a "buffet restaurant", but, by selected a "local restaurant" we hoped for good, homemade food. When we arrived, the establishment was very crowded and we had to park some distance in a lot for the neighboring motel. We thought this was a good omen and were expecting some "home cooking" for which that part of Missouri is supposedly noted or at least something akin to one of the chain buffets. Absolutely nothing could be further from the truth. 1.) The trays that we had in the entry line weren't clean. 2.)Since Sirloin Stockade is a self-serve "buffet" restaurant, the only duties of our server were to clean the table before we sat down, to take our drink order, to provide the drinks and keep them refilled. Tables weren't properly bussed and ours had to be wiped twice to be clean. First "cleaning" was with a dirty wet rag which didn't appear to have any soap. I demanded a second and then our table was properly washed. Service was very slow and we had to literally find any server to bring drinks. We both had the brewed Iced Tea which tasted fresh but we were only given the option of "sweet tea". Thankfully neither of us is diabetic. 3.) For a place touting steak in its name, on the buffet and even available on the menu board for an additional cost, Sirloin Stockade's was extremely disappointing. Neither my steak nor the wife's was grilled to order, but selected from a bin containing precooked steaks supposedly based on our preferences. My wife's "medium" steak was hard enough that she said it was "like shoe leather" and didn't even bother eating it. My "medium rare" steak was too "rare" to eat (bloody). 4.) The salad bar was disappointing featuring iceberg lettuce, some not so appetizing chopped veggies and a few other selections. 5.) The buffet included limited vegetable options and I think none were fresh or even seasoned. It appeared that the "cooks" just opened cans or boiled frozen veggies and dumped. The rest of the buffet consisted of starchy items. The mashed potatoes tasted like powered potatoes that they didn't even "doctor" to taste good. It was a Friday so the buffet also featured a couple of seafood items. The fried fish was tasteless and the shrimp had too much breading so that I had to hunt to find any shrimp. The baked salmon on the buffet tasted pretty good to both of us. We looked at the desert bar, but the offerings looked so disappointing, neither of us had dessert. Two final notes: the men's room was filthy and my wife said the same was true of the women's room and nobody on staff seemed interested in dealing with the issue when we discretely mentioned this. read more

I see some pretty picky people have posted. Well, I WILL be back! I love Sirloin Stockade, and have for years. I love the food, the people, and the consistency. My only gripe, would probably be the opposite of a couple of these other folk who have posted. If I wanted my cooked vegetables raw, I would get them off the salad bar. I hate to waste food, but once in a while my broccoli is under cooked. Now, I don't like mush, but I do want to be able to cut is with a fork. The last time I was there it was great--perfect. And, I don't care if the cheese comes from a can or a cow, I like their cheese on my cauliflower and broccoli. I go for the fried chicken, as well as the other meat choices. I hope it never changes and I get no unwelcome surprises. And, when I get the steak as well, sometimes it does leave a little to be desired, but, I deal with it. I can't get steak just anywhere for the price, and I'll take it as it is. Most of the time it is quite good. Haters gonna hate! But I have been going there for years and I will say I always have good service and for the most part, the food's pretty good. The price for the buffet isn't bad at all, I believe $8. have been so excited since it reopened after the fire! been going once a week...but if last friday for seafood night is any precursor of thing to come..i'm out! you guys are rushing your food catfish was soggy actually everything was soggy, the tater tot casserole wasnt even brown....it was white...what a total disappointment! i also told my husband while we were there that a piece of your large shrimp tasted weird...needless to say i was up all night...its a shame we drive all the way from cuba take our 80 something parents for such a dinner! we did notice the guy or manager talking to some other guy about how everything works right by the door...it didnt work that night! read more

I've eaten here numerous times through out the years. Slowly but surely your quality of food and selection has suffered greatly. Not to mention your price for the buffet is way over priced for the quality of food you offer. Years ago you offered all you can eat steak; but now that's separate; even more insulting it's not even all you can eat steak. Which is very dry and lacking flavor now a days. Your dessert bar is way under par. The dessert items look and taste like prepackaged desserts that you can get at Walmart. I'm not impressed at all. Your staff are poorly trained. My plate on the bottom still had food stuck on it. So that meant if the bottom of my plate was dirty I suppose that the next plate would be dirty on top. The table top had salt all over it. I had to ask the waitress to bring a wet cloth. She handed me the wet cloth to wipe it off. Your food tasted like it had soap in it. The soda wasn't very fizzy at all. Worst experience anywhere! My grandmother wanted a cup of coffee that came complimentary with the dessert she ordered. When we asked the waitress she refused to give her the coffee because it comes after the desert. I have never heard of a place not giving you coffee until after desert?!?!?! So my mother asks another waitress if we can see the manager. The manager comes and she's asks him why my grandmother cannot have the coffee before her desert. The manager begins to yell at my mother and grandmother telling them that the coffee only comes with the desert and if they want one then they can go to the bar and buy one!!!! He got done yelling and walked off. My mother and grandmother still stayed since they paid for the food, and after they got their food they said it was sour and tough.If I would have been there myself this would have became a monumental problem for that manager. My mother and grandmother do not remember his name or I would gladly give it, but whoever was managing sirloin stockade at 12:00 on Thursday April 25, 2019 needs to be fired. He made sirloin stockade lose many people because I am telling everybody I know to STAY AWAY!! If I could give it zero stars I would. Boyfriend put it best when he said it's like how a buffet would be in prison. You have to keep your receipt on the edge of your table so you can get the drinks you ordered. Ours took 10 minutes to get the first time, waitress never came back to refill. They also only give you one plate. Not sure if the waitress is supposed to come back and offer you more plates but ours never did. Maybe the service could be overlooked if the food wasn't terrible, but it is. Everything is clearly fake and lukewarm at best. Save your money and go somewhere else ANYWHERE ELSE. $10.99 for this "buffet" is laughable. read more

We took our three grandchildren to the SS and were very pleased with it. The serving staff was great, the manager friendly, the dishes clean, and the atmosphere pleasant. The food was surprisingly good. The steak had a fine steak flavor and was tender. The ribs were great. Nice salad bar selection. Our grandkids really enjoyed making choices (mostly pizza!) and liked their meals. Will definitely visit again. read more

We had dinner there last night and it was horrible. The only way it got 1 star is because of the waitress who was trying her best. The chicken on the bar was raw and bloody. The waitress took the piece my husband had back to the kitchen and they did come and remove the fried chicken from the bar. She told us she was sorry and the manager would take care of it. I would have assumed that maybe the manager would have taken the time to come to our table to apologize but we never saw him. A couple of what seemed to be off the clock employees were wondering around the restaurant talking to all the employees on the clock and helping themselves to drinks. A lot of the food on the bar was dried out. There is a cut out through the wall with a shelve across from the dessert bar and it had enough dust on it I could right my name in it. Overall very dirty. Many complaints==where do I start!! My friend and I are both seniors. We arrived at 3:55 pm. The menu clearly states senior buffet until 4pm is $6.99. When I later reviewed my bill, we were chgd after 4:00 prices. Our debit receipt clearly showed 3:56 p..m, but our register receipt showed 4:00p.m. I questioned the waitress,, but was told the register was set differently, and they had no control over this. My partner and I continued to discuss this and even though it was only$3.00, we felt they had taken advantage. Apparently the waitress overheard us, as shortly after, a member of management came to us with our $3 dollars and change and curtly explained that she was refunding our money, but she had no control over the time on register, as corporate set this time in. I wonder why the menu doesn't say 3:55 p.m. if that is the case. I think when menu says 4:00, it should be 4:00. Okay--the food--some good, some horrible. Macaroni and cheese dry, fish tasted like mud, instant mashed potatoes, gravy-more like muddy water. Fried chicken quite good, roast pork very good, But all in all, the hassle and them attempting to take advantage of us--not worth the effort. If corporate is doing this, it is a very underhanded tactic. read more
