Siros Staff Is EXTREMELY DISCRIMINATORY. And JANET Rudely Hung up On me on A Professional business call while discussing my Event. I happen to Be A Black Business Owner who simply inquired to receive information about their function room. I initially spoke with Joe, who immediately sent the information over and was pleasant to speak with. Then, I spoke with Janet yesterday who initially worked out a plan to charge me $250 for the O'Connell room since my guest list is under 30ppl. In which they require a $30+ per person ordering for their *Function Room Food menu* she said because I would save them from prepping their *function room food memu* which comes with a full 3 course & dessert ; She would do this with *no minimum* & the date was available, no events ; do this is Money for them regardless; she said would run things by management and have me see the room the next day, today. She also said she would write me a email to follow-up with what we discussed and call me to come in; it is now 2:40p Saturday. We spoke yesterday afternoon at @ 12p afternoon; no email or call from yesterdayinto today. So, I called and followed up; Janet's ehole attitude sounded different over the phone, I asked her how she was, she said good, she immediately said, 'WE just can't do that room for no minimum. We will charge you $300 (went up $50) then she said and we still require $40 per person; from their menu; Their menu ranges from $10-%35; their entrees are approximately $20-25; so what is the difference I will pay and plus she charged me a extra $50; I went to the original contract and pointed this out to her, she excused herself and said, sure $260 (why she wanted to overcharge me from yesterday makes no sence) Then she said, we have to get paid you know (as if I don't know that. I AM A BUSINESS OWNER) I agreed and said, your telling me you are giving a deal, yet just about to charge me more; so, I am looking a the menu after asking her to email me the details, got off the phone and I am calculating to get $30 per person off A $15-$20 menu (She lied and said "all our entrees on our menu start @ $30-35~GOOGLE it~ It doesn't) She sated , U can order anything from the menu; but to make $30 out of cheaper items is not easy, I simply called back to clarify for help on how to get to $30 when a entree of $19 (not $30-35) & a salad still is not $30; Who want to waist food & money? it would make more sense to possibly jusy provide a room minimum or lower the per person rate to the ACTUAL PRICES on the menu per entree which range from $20-$25; I have a large budget that she does not know of; I won't speak about her stating yesterday I can give you 2 servers but then today saying, I can only give you one and will charge for the 2nd~ the Finale~ She Staed with disgusting Obnoxious less, "I don't think we are the right place for your event, it seems like we can agree to this at all, I can't help you anymore, we need to get paid, And SHE HUNG UP ON ME WHGAT DID I DESERVE ON A PROFESSIONAL CALM & COLLECTIVE CONVERSATION TO GET HUNG UP ON?!?!? I will be reporting this ASAP & Even Ayanna Presley herself will hear about this, I am disgusted at their attitude; they don't know who I know and do Business with to treat me like this, but this will not be the last they hear from me; No one deserves to be treated like this. This was a very mediocre dinner. One highlight was the bread, fresh, hot, very tasty.Burato appy salad was also very good. I asked if there was lump crab in the crabcake, the waiter said yes, but that was not correct. It was bready, fried and lacked good crab. I've had to knock the score down a bit due to remarkably slow service. I think we may have had a new and inexperienced server. That said, she was very friendly and the hostess realized there was a problem and took care of us. This won't keep me from going again should the chance arise because the food was fantastic! I had the fried oysters, and wow! Nice and crunchy on the outside, nice and barely-cooked on the inside, just how I love them! They came on a baby arugula salad which complimented the oysters wonderfully. The calm chowder was creamy with plenty of tender clams and potatoes cut just right. I also had a martini, the name of which escapes me but it had Captain Morgan Rum, Coconut rum and pineapple juice. Definitely took me back to the Caribbean! The location in Marina Bay can't be beat with a fantastic view looking back towards Boston. If you're an aviation buff, it's also a great place to do some tail-spotting from! Location gets the cake. Service is fine no complaints considering we went on a Sunday with a large party but nothing memorable and that's fine. However the food is what we had a bad impression about. It's expensive and sooo bland. We had a lot of the menu: calamari, mussels, clams, salmon, cod, scallops, soft&turf and the seafood fradiaviolo. We had the same reaction to everything. On the first nice day of spring my friend suggested this place. We sat on the patio.. we started w/ bread and some of the best hummus ever (complimentary) and then shared a caeser salad, yummy! We took our time sharing a bottle of wine. Our server said she was new but you'd never know it. She suggested the chicken parmigiana, it was delicious. Friends from work took me here last night! Haven't been here in years! They have some new things on the menu-- the chicken francase- is a lemony, chicken dish, w/ capers and artichokes, over pasta!! So delicious! Only $20! My friend who is " gluten free" got it over risotto, they also offered gluten free pasta but the waiter also suggested risotto! I had to taste, almost better than mine! Even though Marina Bay seems to be where the sunburned people of Quincy go to get tanked, the views from Siro's patio of Boston and the yachts in harbor are like a post card. The best thing about this place is that as soon as we sat down someone brought out half a loaf of bread and big plate of hummus. Then we got to look at the beautiful view while we waited for the waitress to come by to take our drink order. Eventually, I realized we probably didn't have a waitress, as all the people with the aprons on seemed to be diligently avoiding eye contact with me. So we left. But after all that bread, I was quite full, and not at all drunk. Or sunburned. Therefore, I would strongly recommend Siros. Decent food, nice views, and you don't even have to pay! It started out the perfect afternoon. My friend had the keys to his brothers new boat. He was out of town and I, being the persuasive devil that I am, said I would bring the beer down to Marina Bay in Quincy if he would provide the boat. We cruised at about 80 out into Boston Harbor all the way to Charlestown pounding Harpoon UFO's and buzzing the wimpy sailor folk. Ours was a Donzi Cigarette boat. No sails just high powered engines. It was too cold to swim or dive and it was getting dark so we headed back. It really was awesome out there in the harbor. When we got back we ran into a friend of a friend and got suckered into eating at Siros. He was with his "girlfiend" an ex stripper and although I wanted to hit Fishbones where the bar was hopping I ended up sitting next to this clown and this phony plastic babe with a brain the size of the olive in my martini. "What do you do?" "What kind of car do you drive" I work as a taster at the Marshmellow Fluff factory and drive a Yugo. (my stock answer) I split a chicken parm with my friend and listened to the putz talk shit for another hour while I kept asking the waiter to kill me. What a friggin buzzkill. How did it happen? I do not know.But my portion of the bill was 50 bucks. HUH? The food was good but the next time a friend says let's eat with them and them means a 40 something single wannabe trying to nail a stripper by dropping hundreds I'm jumping the fence and swimming back to Charlestown. ugh read more

Worst service I've had in years. It took 30 minutes to get a bottle of wine. The server kept telling us it's coming. Must have been coming from Napa. Individual drink orders weren't any better. We ordered multiple appetizers for the table and they didn't give us any plates. Had to ask. Then we had to find our server and ask her to take our dinner order. I think Siro's is my Dad's favorite restaurant, or at least its close. The last time we went there was about 5 years ago, when our entire $250 meal was comped because the service was so horrendous. Not much has changed. We asked for a 6 pm reservation, and were told that they were full at 6. We took a reservation for 530. Traffic on 93 was HORRENDOUS and we ended up getting there around 6 anyway, and found the place practically empty. When my daughter and I walked into the restaurant, there was no one working at the desk. I waited for a while, and when no one came to the desk I just went in and tried to find my party. It wasn't hard, there wasn't anyone else there. Maybe it was because of the weather, it was absolutely pouring, and I feel like you would go there when the weather is nice so you can see the boats come and go. It was fine, though, when my daughter got edgy we went for a little walk in the rain on the dock and looked at the boats from a little pagoda. The bread and hummus was excellent. It was the best part of the meal, hands down. We shared the mussels and the fried calamari for the app. The mussels were excellent, and the fried calamari was average. I ordered the scallops and risotto with asparagus. It came as the rest of our 6 person party was finishing their meal. I insisted they start eating when it became obvious that mine wasn't coming any time soon. I don't know if they forgot me, or what, but it was not what you would expect at a restaurant in this price range. We were at the Yard House earlier in the day, and when my sister's meal was 10 minutes late, they comped it and offered us something else in addition. This is basic hospitality. The food tasted average once it arrived. The scallops were a little small, and nearly undercooked. I had eaten so much bread while I was waiting I only ended up eating half my entree and took the rest home. It was actually better reheated. My sisters and parents all enjoyed their food, and agreed that it was better reheated. The view is amazing. The bathrooms (the back, side bathroom, you have to kind of go outside) is not as clean as it could be, and is not as nice as the rest of the restaurant. If someone is at the sink, you have to ask them to move to open the door. If my dad wants to go back, I might suggest other places, but as long as I'm not paying, and as long as I'm in the mood for bread and hummus, it's OK. read more

Dissapointing! a party of 6, we went a beautiful thursday night in end of august to celebrate a 70th Birthday. The restaurant was not busy. were seated right away. We sat at least 15min, without a look or greet from any servers/workers if not more before we had to ask where our server was. she arrived at least another 5plus more minutes later. She poured most of our sangria pitcher on the floor. They had the nerve to charge $28 for a plate of cold dry pasta in marinara that an 8 old could prepare better. all meals were cold and there was no creativity in the plating and the portions were small. overall our experience was disappointing and they did not stand up to their reputation and reviews. I threw a bridal shower brunch at Siros on a Saturday in August. I did a lot of research on pricing, room rental fees and everything that goes with it in the area before making a decision. Not only was Siros less money than most similar venues in the area, the quality of EVERYTHING was superb. I worked mostly with Shannon to plan and coordinate the event. Her communication was fast and thorough. We held the shower in the O'Connell Room but any of the rooms at Siros would have been great. I loved that we had indoor/outdoor access and that the restaurant is right on the water. We were able to sit outside on the patio after the meal and gifts were done. The decor is great. Food was delicious. (Tuscan French Toast - YUM! Highly recommended.) We had several gluten free attendees and the staff made sure to accommodate them. Julia and Doug took care of us on the day of the event and the service was above and beyond what I had expected. Only 2 CONS to booking at Siros: 1) They have a 30 person minimum for the brunch buffet and we ended up having less than 30 people but had to pay for the full minimum anyway. We knew this in advance of booking but it was still tough to stomach. 2) The parking is not super close and was kind of hard to figure out at first because there is a big lot right next to the restaurant. We didn't realize that that whole lot next to the restaurant was for boat owners and got a bit turned around trying to find the public lot. It was a little bit of a walk carrying a heavy gift and party decor but wouldn't have changed my mind about booking there. I just wish I could have put a note on the party invitation. I would hold another event at Siros any time. Was very very pleased. read more

My wife has been there many times and usually the service is good, but she used to go there during the week. We didn't have a reservation when we got there at about 6:20, but they said it'd be 20-25 minutes. Great news right?!? We sat on a bench looking at the water and 15 minutes went by so we checked with the hostess to see how much longer, she said it would be 20 minutes longer. Not so great but we said we'd wait. 25 minutes later I checked again and they said it'll be 5 more minutes. Ten minutes later we were in our chair. They took our drink order and didn't come back for quite awhile. When she did she dropped off our drinks and didn't take our food order, she came back a few minutes later to take that. My beer was just above room temp which may work in Europe, but not here. We started our night at about 6:20 as I said but didn't get our food until 8:45. Not once did our waitress come back to get another drink or refill our water. She was very polite and very apologetic, but not a very good waitress. We complained to the manager and they offered us free dessert. We had finally had enough and were about to inform the manager that they had five more minutes when she told us that they were plating the dishes, and we would only have to pay for the beer and salad. I ordered a braised beef shank with polenta which was great, but hardly worth waiting more than 2 hours. My wife had the Fillet Mignon which tasted like an over done tough piece of roast beef and over done shrimp. Not the least bit appetizing. I find it hard to ever go back there but my wife is very fond of the place. They were very busy and very sincere in their apology, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Don't go on a Saturday night since they probably can't handle the volume of business, and they have some guy playing a saxophone. Between the noise of the crowd, the noise of the night club next door, and the sax, it wasn't a very good night. read more

We live in Marina Bay and had never tried Siros. After tonight, I'm not coming back. First, the waiter didn't read us the specials for the night or bring us bread even though every other table had fresh bread. After waiting 20 minutes for our food (which isn't bad for timing), the waiter brought us the incorrect salad. About three minutes later, a different bus boy brought us the same incorrect salad! We finally got the correct salad only after the hot food arrived and once I mentioned to the waiter that we never got bread, he still didn't bring it! He also failed to give us fresh cheese and/or pepper on our pasta. Plus, he didn't check in with us until it was too late to ask for the fresh grated cheese. But the real kicker? For such an expensive meal the food isn't that good! We got the short rib pasta and it was incredibly bland. Honestly maybe we just came on a bad night, but this is one of the worst dining experiences we've had in Boston. We came for a special occasion with a party of 15. We only had one server, which was fine in theory, but he was also responsible for about 10 other tables, some of which were also large parties, and was spread way too thin. I don't know if they were understaffed or what...but we waited about an hour to get our check after we were finished eating. Nine out of 10 meals were overcooked (I'm talking a well done rack of lamb when I ordered medium). Just overall awful and I would not go back. I had Siro's cater a family gathering i had on Saturday nite. (approx 20 people) All i can say is they were amazing from start to finish. Both Mark and Shirley helped me put the menu together. The pick up of the food was seamless. They had everything packed - the food was killer! Flank steak, hot and cooked perfectly, pasta bolognese so good, mini canoli's- great. Siros Restaurant made my daughters Baby shower an occasion never to forget!!! on September 24, 2017. Top notch everything from beginning to end!!! Shannon & Michelle are the best event function managers ever!!!!!!! 10++++++++++. The entire staff at Siros were absolutely over the top with making sure that all went smoothly. All our guests raved about it!!! I recommend Siros, Port 305 and Blue for any events!!! The owner of those three restaurants should be commended with the way all is handled and taken care of there. The decor is gorgeous!!! It definitely shows, the staff and all who work around there bend over backwards to make sure your venue is the best. Hats off to the Chef, the food is incredible!!!!! Siros has gone downhill over the past couple of years. We took our colleagues from overseas here the other night. Food was average at best. Member of our party ordered the porcini crusted salmon, salmon arrived uncrusted. The "full plates" ordered by members of our party were certainly overpriced based on quality/size of portion. Service was inattentive and somewhat lax. Restaurant was mostly empty but the food order to table time was on the slower side. Won't be returning, especially with clients or colleagues. I had my baby shower at Siros last Saturday. The staff was excellent and super accommodating. The food was very tasty for buffet style. I would highly recommend Siros for any private event. So I went here for lunch on sunday June 26th. Actually we wound up here cause we went to Port 305 and there was a 45 min wait and they told us we might want to try Siros. When we got there it was pretty empty, that should have been our first bad sign. So are standing in the outdoor seating area and there is noone at the hostess stand. Finally after 5 min just before we went inside to see whats up someone came out then seated us. Our waitress(I wish I could remember her name) then came over and asked if we wanted a drink. So we asked for water and a drink menu. She brought the water over relativity quickly and then came back to us asking what we would like to drink still not having gotten the drink menu that was asked for. She got that and then my friend ordered a drink and I just stuck with water for now. While waiting for the drink to arrive another table was seated got their drinks and was already ordered food. While we still waited. So she finally came with the drink and said she would be right back for out order. Well as I am sure you could guess she wasn't right back. So we finally ordered. It wasn't till after we ordered and I heard another waitress at a different table telling her table what the specials were that I even knew they had specials. As she came by again I decided to get their "Bulldog Lemonade" (basically lemonade and gin). She looked at me funny like I was ordering something from space, but then she said ok Bulldog Lemonade got it (that should have been another sign). This drink surprisingly came much faster than the first. After drinking a few sips I thought that it was either very weak, so sweet i couldn't taste the gin, or missing the alcohol. but I let it go for now.... So finally our food came and she asked if we needed anything else and I asked for some ketchup and hot sauce. She said ok then went to get a credit card from another table. As I am waiting for a while for what I asked she finally comes back with their bill but not my ketchup and hot sauce. She then comes back to us to ask if everything was ok and I look at her. And she says right ketchup. Now I have had my food almost 10 minutes already. So I finally get them and eat. I would say it was mediocre at best. Nothing that good to justify the price. So we asked for our bill and we some how got it pretty quick. But that didn't last long cause it took long again for her to come back for the card. But while we were waiting I looked at the bill I discovered why my drink didn't taste right. She only gave me a plain lemonade and not the Drink special one I ordered. Ok so maybe all the waitresses there were not as incompetent as this one. I even heard here tell another table she gave their bill to another table. I could maybe see this if the place was packed and she had a ton of tables but she only had 2 others and the place was dead I could see her service going down a bit but not to this point. The waitress at the table next to us seemed pretty good and even the trainee seemed better and more detailed than our waitress. So the horrible service(which got a bare minimum tip or less) and the mediocre "high end" yet high priced food got this a low rating. And it would have been nice if the outdoor tv was working also to get score updates on the Sox. Lastly I would have thought that a restaurant right on the water would have more that 2 seafood items on the menu. It wasn't after till i was leaving that I saw a sign saying it was an Italian restaurant which seemed like more of a joke cause there were only like 3 Italian dishes on the menu. The only reason for the 4 is the amount of time it took for dinner to arrive. But the food, ambience was superb. Our waiter, Carlos, was exceptional. We were able to be seated on the patio which was so beautiful! You can see the entire Boston skyline from your seat. And the water views. As the backdrop, you can't help but enjoy dinner. I shared the Seafood Fra Diavolo dish , which was fantastic: scallops, clams, mussels, shrimp over fettuccine. This spicy dish was enough for three. That's right. I couldn't believe the serving was that large, and intended for one! Wow. We definitely packed 3/4 of it to go. I can see why it was a $29 dish. The highlight was when my friend ordered a special that had been added. Upon placing her order, the waiter comes back to report they are out of lamb. Uh oh. Buttttttt, Mr. Waiter said he'd double check with the kitchen to see if they had one more. Minutes later, good news - lamb was being prepared. That's what service is all about. I love a great restaurant with outdoor space (especially on the water) for a nice summer meal. This is a HUGE plus for me. Great outdoor and indoor space. Great spots in the sun and shade and a nice view of the marina overlooking downtown Boston. Service was very slow, but I think the waiter had more tables to wait on than he should have. He was extremely polite, friendly, and his good looks didn't hurt either! My friend and I split the tuna melt and fried clam roll. Both were absolutely delicious! The clam roll soaked up what was left of a horrid hangover, and the tuna melt was extremely tasty as well. While on the slightly pricey side as other reviews have mentioned, I thought it was justified for the quality and the location of the restaurant. I would certainly come back here if in the Quincy/Marina Bay area! read more

We had our niece's Bridal shower at Siro's and can't say enough positive things about our experience there! In the months prior to the shower, everyone we dealt with was responsive, helpful and professional. The day of the shower, we arrived to the room set up beautifully and staff all available to help and guide us with a smile. They were calm and supportive as we all hustled to get ready for family and friends. Once everyone arrived, the staff was great! Drinks appeared before you knew you it and everything worked like smoothly and on time. This used to be a top quality italian restaurant. Today I found the chicken parmesan to be shockingly bad. I could see the outline where a square of mozzarella cheese had not fully melted. The sauce had no flavoring, no garlic, and it tasted like it was tomato paste straight out of a can. It was luke warm with ziti bordering on cool. The prices here are for that of a four star restaurant while the results are no longer there. read more
