Our Friday morning hiking group recently switched to going to Sissy's after we walk, and I'm so glad that we did! It is a neighborhood gem, with great food and relaxing vibe. I highly recommend the avocado toast. It taste great and has a very generous portion. There are many more tasty temptations on the menu, but once I find something good I'll probably stick with it ha ha ha. I can't wait to return!

This place is a micro-experience that can satisfy the itch when one lives near or in San Pedro and does not have the drive to go all the way to Hollywood and its surrounding areas to have an instagrammable, and therefore, fabulous brunch. Seriously, this place is more than a coffee spot, it is a spot where coffee and modern and delicious plates meet, amidst a woodsy atmosphere that whispers Spring has arrived all year-long. I realize I can overwrite, so let me breakdown the experience to give substance to my lofty claims. I met one of the workers one night, while at a place to be. Her name was Gabbi. I chose to spell it with two b's and i, because name spelling has abandon typical conventions and thus I thought I should ride the odd instead of coasting within the comfort zone of typical. She told me that the place was nothing short of sublime and decided to try the place out myself and then decide if sublime was a perfect adjective for the place, and in some ways it is, but I think i am more comfortable with the description of accessible-trendy. As I approached the spot I was delighted by the Sissy's Cafe sign. The turquoise shadowing around the black letters was augmented beautifully with black sparkles under the big S. It was a touch of star quality. And honestly, these touches were present through the experience. And I might be the the detective with the magnifying glass that consumes too much detail, but these small touches were all over the restaurant. Which means that someone did not only design and deliver the aesthetics of the place, but rather birth a carefully detailed vision. Only a brilliant person who cares sows 1,000 sequences into a dress, ensuring they are all spaced apart, in a equa-distant kind of way because one sequence out of place murders the vision. That is what i felt here: Cohesion of care. The primary vibe of the place was a wood and green theme. I appreciated that immensely because I felt like I was offered a break sponsored by nature and the sprite that weave its leaves and barks into existence. Truth be told, the vibe did not drop me into the belly of the fern but I did feel like I was in a woods clearing ready to drink coffee amongst the twigs and vines. I mean each individual table had a vase filled with some type of flimsy yet spirted flour. If one views my picture they can see the whispers of the green embedded within the place, make sure to note that there are vines that hang, not in length but in pride and decor. I got a coffee and it was decent. But I know this place has good coffee. As I approached the wooden door the outside already smelled like fine roasted coffee. That was are positive sign. A big one that deserves its own plus sign. The good eats continued. I took my order to go. I got the BLTA and added fried onions. The BLTA was super delightful and fit within the good eats at Melrose spots the bread was thick and had a crunch, the type of crunch that bread edges has. The leaves were butter lettuce maybe and quite delicious. They were the type of lettuce that fits your mouth all super delightfully. One cannot eat the leave in one clean bite they have to slupr the lettuce with two bites. The bacon, the avocado, the onions, all came into play to make a delicious series of bite. This was my first time at Sissy's not to my last, I tell you that much in green and brown conviction.

Came here with another fellow foodie friend of mine to check it out. This place used to be a locals favorite ShinShin Chinese food. They've since remodeled and taken over the space. Sissy's Cafe has done a great job making it their own and bringing sophisticated cafe feel to this little town in San Pedro. It was buzzing and busy around the time we went which was a Monday around 10am. - 4 stars for the lavendar matcha I ordered. It was delicious, but I felt like the serving size was too small for the price $7-$8. It definitely left me wanting more. - 4 stars for the steak & eggs plate. Only because the serving size was way smaller than I expected for $16. It did come with beans, a strip of yummy toast (unconventionally good & oddly shaped), 3-5 slices of steak, and I believe it was 1-2 eggs. I was able to finish the whole plate. My friend ordered the strawberry matcha and hot chocolate. Not sure how it was but she said she loved it. I do want to go back and try their breakfast toast as they look super delicious. Can't wait to go back and have their lavendar matcha & try their breakfast toast.

I was really excited to try Sissy's Cafe since it's a new spot in town and breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I had been seeing it all over TikTok, and since it's so close by, we decided to check it out. The space is super cute and aesthetically pleasing, and the customer service was great, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the food and drinks didn't quite live up to the hype. We ordered two iced vanilla lattes, and they tasted like burnt coffee with a lot of simple syrup. The salsas didn't have much flavor, and while the burrito was just okay, the breakfast sandwich was definitely better just very oily. The onion straws, though, were served cold. For $42, I was hoping for a bit better quality overall. To be fair, we didn't mention anything at the time since I had to rush to work, so we didn't give them a chance to fix it. I'd still be open to giving them another try because I really wanted to love it; it's just a little disappointing when you go in with high expectations and it doesn't quite hit.

This was my first time trying Sissy's. They were incredibly busy during the 12pm-1pm slot. Unfortunately my order got misplaced or forgotten but they handled it very professionally and made me feel better about the long wait. Service was great!! The food was amazing. I got the breakfast burrito and it was one of the best I've had in a really long time. I can't wait to come back and try the steak and eggs and their various breakfast toasts. It was very loud inside during the rush, so I'd recommended grabbing an outside table if you don't like loud spaces. It was very cute and clean inside besides that! I'd overall highly recommend this spot for their amazing food and staff. I will definitely be back :)

This review is long overdue. I've been three times now and honestly I have no notes. Food is always on point. My favorites are the French toast and the steak and eggs but honestly everything I've tried I've liked. The French toast is honestly the best I've ever had. It is fluffy briochy goodness... crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, not too sweet, well balanced w blueberries, cinnamon whipped cream, pistachios, and mint. The steak and eggs were just as good. Chilaquiles, also bomb. Otherwise the space is the perfect place to spend a morning with friends or family. It is thoughtful, aesthetic, and airy without trying too hard. Service has been amazing every time we've gone. Everyone is so welcoming and genuinely seems happy to be there. I only wish I lived closer because I'd be here way more often. Already looking forward to my next visit

This was my first time here. It was a very nice experience. It is pretty big inside and has a few outdoor tables. I ordered an Avocado Toast with an egg on the side and a Vanilla Latte. I loved the avocado toast. It was light and tasty it was well seasoned and I would definitely prefer it again. My latte was delicious and not too sweet. I would definitely go back again. It got pretty busy inside and I can see why.

I went by this place a few times after hearing about it online. It looked good, but every time I went by they were closed. It turns out they aren't open after 3pm. By the way, I think they're missing out. That area needs a place to go in the evenings. So, anyway, I got there today at around ten and there were a good amount of people. The place seemed stylish and modern. You order up front and they bring your food to you. I was taken aback because they had at least 7 people working there. That's 5 people behind the bar, and two people in the back. I'm not sure how that makes sense budget-wise, but I'll leave that to the owner. One of the people behind the bar was what seemed to be a dedicated barista. I ordered the Chilaquiles, which was the thing that got me out there in the first place, and I got a decaf latté to go with it. The coffee came first, and it looked great, and tasted so good that I had to make sure that is was actually decaf. It was! It really hit the spot. The chilaquiles came and the were pretty good: Two sunny side up eggs, on the fried and sauced tortilla strips, with some queso fresco, a white and a green sauce, on a bed of Mexican style rice. It was all decent, and I was glad to see a spot like this in that part of town. I hope they do well!

Service was friendly. The food was good. The pricing isn't bad. We didn't have problems finding seating for 3 on a Saturday morning around 10am. The food does take a while to come out. I like their water station.

This place is Amazing. My favorite is the Avocado toast. Perfect place to go for a quick bite or to enjoy a nice cup of coffee. Staff is very friendly. If your around the area check this place out. Sussie at the front counter is very friendly. she greets every customer with a warm smile. You guys are all Phenomenal!!

My first thought when walking in was how cute the place is. Very modern and clean and the chairs are SO comfy.. The menu is small but everything is delicious I'm sure. Definitely a brunch spot for us. You order and take your seat, my drink was ready pretty quickly and the food brought out after. It did get crowded and it's a Tuesday late morning, so I'm guessing weekends must be packed here. As mentioned before the place became crowded soon after we arrived and the parking was slim. Overall first experience was nice. I like the owners here, very kind and patient with us, answered our questions and gave us recommendations. Happy for them and wish their business well! Would recommend if ever in the area.

They didn't just blow the remodel out of the water, the whole Weymouth block feels different. You can feel the vibe before you even walk in. The space is gorgeous and full of energy in the best way. Staff was great. I saw someone say it was "too loud," but honestly, it just sounded like a room full of people enjoying themselves. I'll take that over a quiet, empty café any day especially during rush hour. Got the avocado toast and decided to elevate the experience with a sunny side up egg and a perfectly cooked bacon. Zero regrets. Fresh, satisfying, and exactly how you want to start your morning.

Matchas with strawberry and chai cold foam

Drinks could have been a little sweeter but they were good. The strawberry cold foam had good flavor. Breakfast burrito was good, and the French toast was decent. I loved the salsa with the breakfast burrito and I love how it came with 2. It was busy which was good! Hope they do well because it's a great location . Good vibes outside. Only suggestion would be to list all of the drink options and cold foam options on the menu/a menu because we wouldn't have known that we could get the strawberry and chai cold foam on the drinks without seeing it on social media . Then I saw other people drinking drinks that I didn't see on the menu that I would have like to get instead . Excited to see how they progress !

This coffee shop is walking distance from me so I came in on a Saturday morning. It was a full house. I waited in line but service was somewhat prompt. My only complaint is my vanilla iced latte was all milk and no coffee. Sadly, I dumped it out when I got home. I didn't say anything because it was crazy busy and didn't want to wait longer. Maybe I'll give them another try when they are not as busy. read more

So far I've been here twice I've had a great experience both times really enjoyed the breakfast burrito the size of the burrito is perfect! Great flavor stood out, thoughtful care of how tightly wrapped an ingredient put into the burrito. If you are looking for good breakfast burrito with great plating and portion try here. Steak and eggs really enjoyable, feel like the steak was cooked to perfection and the flavor was just right not to salty and not drowned in a lot of marinade had a nice crisp on it French toast was another descent plate really liked the plating and the portion size This business is still up and coming, hoping to see more improvements. My husband was recommended this new place by a friend and we were NOT disappointed! The staff is very friendly and the shop is very clean and maintained. I had the chilaquiles and my husband had the steak and eggs and it was so good. I stole a few bites off my husband's plate too and it was delicious! Emily brought us our food and was so sweet and polite! Very attentive and friendly. We'll be coming back and making this our usual spot! We hope to see Emily again! read more

Sissy's is an amazing addition to San Pedro dining. The owner/chef is definatey gifted. He pays attention to details. He toasts everything perfectly, his flavors are unique and fresh. The Steak and eggs with beans was delicious. He roasts peppers, fries onions, uses quality produce and meats and he bakes lovely scones. The staff are friendly too. My husband and I decided to try Sissy's Cafe this morning for breakfast. The reviews looked good and we've been trying to find a good breakfast spot nearby. The parking can be a bit of a challenge but we lucked out and got a space close by. We were hoping to sit outside but there are only two tables and both were occupied. One was set up for 6 people and had three and the other for 4 and had two. Maybe have three set up for four and if there's a larger group they could combine the tables? Anyway, we went inside and took a table by the window which had bench seating against the window and the chairs they had were padded which is very nice. My husband had the breakfast burrito and large drip coffee. I ordered the Shakshouka and a hot Chai Tea. The food was excellent! We were both pleased with what we ordered. My husband thought the Shakshouka was a bit spicy but I thought it was just delicious. It definitely has some kick but I didn't think it was too spicy. I tried his breakfast burrito and it was delicious too! We both would order them again. The place is very noisy so that's a bit of an issue that they should work to correct. I placed our order so I got the coffee right away but the chai never came. I went back to inquire and it looked like the order got misplaced or something. The young man making the drinks went ahead and made it for me so I got it quickly and it was delicious. My husband said the coffee was ok and thought the large was kind of small. He's does grind and make his own coffee each morning so he's a bit particular so keep that in mind. Overall we loved our meal and definitely decided we found our new local breakfast spot. We look forward to trying other dishes too. read more

I went to Sissy's for lunch and the breakfast burrito did not disappoint! It is so delicious but very filling! I could only eat half and saved the other half for lunch the next day. I can't wait to try some of the lunch menu ! The service was fast and friendly. I got the large regular drip coffee which was really good. You can get free refills on the drip coffee but the large was plenty! The place is so clean and cute and comfortable . read more

There is nothing like Sissy's in San Pedro. The elevated food, the coffee, the attention to detail. Everything from the little blue coffee cups, to the hand written labels on the to-go items shows you how much love is poured into Sissy's. They even have their own pastry chef making items fresh. Okay so let me preface my rating in that it doesn't reflect the food, service, ambiance, etc., the rating is based on how Yelp categorizes the ratings. A 2 star for Yelp is "Could've been better", which describes in a nutshell my and my husband's experience. So here's a little background. I was trying to get my husband to try Sissy's for a while. He really wasn't that interested especially given their limited menu--although most folks seem to think the food is really good. I finally caught him in a good mood and he agreed to go and try it out. Knowing they close at 3:00 p.m., I rushed him out the door to get there so that we wouldn't feel rushed about them closing while we were there. We arrived at around 1:10 p.m. and as we walked to the counter we were told that the kitchen closed at 1:00 p.m. but that they are open for coffee and pastries. Ack! We were there for lunch not coffee and pastries. We thanked the lady, but decided coffee and pastries wasn't going to suit us. Not sure we'll be back because my husband isn't interested, but maybe I'll go another day on my own so I can at least experience it more fully and provide an updated review. So, make a note! If you plan to eat food, get there before 1:00 p.m.!! I haven't seen this mentioned in other reviews so just trying to get the word out!! read more

Sissy's Cafe does a lot of things right. Great value and portions for the food quality and price. The coffee is good and my breakfast was really nice-- I loved the presentation for my food as well as my friends. The staff is welcoming and kind as well. I feel like they took some notes from Curb Your Enthusiasm with the vibe of the restaurant, the table had no wobble, and the chair was really comfortable. I never thought I'd compliment a chair on a review but their chairs are so nice. Anyway, this place is really nice and they even have a suggestion box by the door, which shows they care. read more

My first visit and I wish it went better. Walking in was beautiful and as I got to the front desk to order I was greeted by a young woman. She answered all my questions and even walked over to the pastries with me since they were all the way on the other side of the counter. It would have been better if they were next to the register because I began to fill rushed as the line got longer behind me. I advised the cashier that it was a to go order and I wasn't offered a bag for my pastries, however the lady behind me got one. I was sitting and waiting for my matcha and the young man who made it put it in a glass cup. I told him the drink was to go and he completely ignored me or didn't hear me because he had an AirPod in his ear. Breakfast burrito, oatmeal and chilaquiles were delicious. I love there is a new cafe in San Pedro. The wait was a bit long for our food but it was a busy Saturday morning. This is a newly opened business in a shopping center with tight parking so y'all have to bring your patience. Staff is kind and willing to help. Seating is comfy and the place is spotless. Food is delicious! We had the spicy chicken panini and the beef tacos. Full of flavor and good to the last bite. Those in the surrounding businesses are popping in for lunch so, is you can do it, might be better to target before or after the lunch hour. read more

Plus, there's an area where they keep their supplies, that it's just not a nice thing to look at when you're eating in a café. My feeling is this stuff should all be separated from the dining establishment so the customers don't have to look at it when they use the restroom. It's just not a good look. Overall, all this being said, this is an unique café, that offers some interesting dishes. I'm just telling you the facts. Make of it what you will.

Sissy's is exactly what San Pedro has been missing. As a local, I usually have to drive out of the area to find a café with this level of quality and I am so glad that's no longer the case. The coffee was outstanding and the food was genuinely phenomenal fresh, flavorful and beautifully executed. The vibe and layout of the space are also really inviting. This place has so much potential. The cashier who took my order was warm, friendly and personable exactly the energy you want when walking into a new spot. However the overall service experience was inconsistent. There was another staff member who wasn't rude but wasn't particularly welcoming either and at times it felt like we were being subtly rushed even though we weren't doing anything wrong. For a new restaurant still building its community presence, that kind of warmth and hospitality matters. I also noticed the gentleman who appeared to be the owner was very engaged and personable with certain patrons but significantly less so with others. A simple welcome or thank you for coming goes a long way especially in a neighborhood establishment trying to build loyalty. The food alone will bring me back. But I hope the team works on delivering a consistently warm experience for every single guest that walks through the door because this place truly has something special. read more

Update : This was the best French toast I've ever had ! The bread itself is about an inch thick, soft and fluffy on the inside with just the right amount of crispy on the outside. When I was first served they didn't bring any syrup so I was about to ask for the syrup , but then I thought maybe it doesn't need it It didn't !! It was perfectly syruped lol .As you can see , it comes w perfectly ripe bananas and blueberries on a bed of delicious strawberry preserves with a generous dab of a very soft mild cream cheese on top ! I recently tried this new café in town and had such a great experience. From the moment we walked in, the customer service was amazing everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and attentive.
