There were SO many things I wanted to try on my first visit. At the suggestion of the owner/chef who was bussing tables and cleaning, I went with the El Pollo Verde Omelet. DELISH. You can taste the freshness and authentic flavors. I had a choice of side and a bread. So many choices! I got Spanish brown jasmine rice. So good. Not your traditional Spanish rice but full of flavor. My bread was hard to pick too but I went with rye. The meal is massive and sooooo reasonably priced. I'm mad and sad I don't live closer but my waistline is definitely happy I don't. Savannah was super sweet. Very nice server and patient with all of my first timer questions. Immediately upon entry, I noticed that the restaurant was fairly full for a Monday morning so that was a good sign. I was seated immediately but then it took a minute for my server to come and check on me, even though I mentioned I was ready to order. I took my mom and her helper to see the Korean Friendship Bell. After admiring the craftsmanship of the bell, and enjoying the beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean, we were ready to eat! Our helper Yelped for a brunch place nearby, and came up with San Pedro Cafe. The parking in the back was packed, luckily someone was leaving so we took their space. The restaurant was dimly lit with lots of wood. Nice staff sat us at a table, and made room for my mom in her wheelchair. We ordered: - garlic parmesan fries - 1/2 tuna sandwich on squaw bread with vegetabl soup - Chilaquiles - Strawberry Walnut Salad with Arugula, green & red leaf, spinach, candied walnuts, sliced strawberries, sliced almonds and orange wedges. It also came w mustard and a pickle and a side of Cole slaw (which was so good). I didn't get my corned beef fix for st Patrick's day so super happy to get some home made pastrami. Way better than the deli pastrami at other places (classics) and more reasonably priced and comes with a side compared to the sandwich shops (saloon and busy bees). Service was great both times. Never rushed. Nice ambience. Nice music. Covered Outdoor seating too. Loved the crunchy French toast for breakfast (I didn't need the fruit). It was so big! The biscuits and gravy was amazing. Visited San Pedro Cafe for the first time in decades. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with a side of fries. I was very impressed with both the sandwich and the fries. The fries look like they are heavily seasoned, but they are not. They were perfectly seasoned and crispy. Perfect fries. We also ordered pancakes with bacon,eggs and sausage. All the breakfast items were great. Absolutely no complaints on the food. I would go back again for the food because they have unique entrees that you don't find at most other places and though I didn't order any of them this time, I definitely will next time. Unfortunately, I would not go back for the service, though. We ordered a chocolate milk. The bus boy ended up coming back with a cup of coffee. My brother reminded him that he ordered chocolate milk. The bus boy shook his head as he did remember that's what my brother ordered. He came back with a regular glass of milk. Again, my brother said no, I ordered chocolate milk. The third time, the bus boy got it right. The waitress was okay. She wasn't mean, but felt treated nonchalant as a customer. There was a younger lady though, who was a helper and she was excellent with customer service. I don't think she was a waitress, but she would make a phenomenal waitress. I wish I had cash on me, but I didn't cuz I would have left her the tip. We agreed that the food was good enough to give us a reason to return even though the customer service was not what we would look forward to when we go back. Perhaps it was an off morning. He introduces himself as the head chef and owner and states that he's a cowboy used to work on a horse ranch or something up in Fresno and that if we ordered Tri Tip Medium rare that we wouldn't be disappointed . I relinquished and so did my buddy and we ordered Tri tip and eggs. I asked for Home fried potatoes My buddy got cottage cheese. The food came in short order. It was inedible. The potatoes were cooked into oblivion. The Tri tip you needed a chainsaw to cut it let alone chew it Exactly what I thought it was going to be. That guy ought to be a used car salesman. I'm never going back. Where I come from biscuits and gravy are biscuits and gravy and when you order steak and eggs they ask you do you want a T bone or do you want a rib eye, and this is not the place. Well I'll start by saying this is probably one of my favorite finds of 2024! Looks a little run down from the street but boy looks can be deceiving. We've been on a cruise ship for four days and this by FAR the best food we've had since we set sail lol, but that's a story for another time. I had the squaw bread French toast which sounded interesting and it was very good but it was by far the low point of the meal, along with the pancake on the side. Both were perfectly serviceable but the chicken fried Steak and the Huevos Rancheros my companions ordered were absolutely amazing. The chicken fried steak was delicately breaded and perfectly cooked, the potatoes on the side were almost au gratin but had peppers and onions in them and were delicious. We asked for a jalapeño on top and they were happy to accommodate us. 10/10 The Huevos Rancheros were perfectly prepared with an absolutely delicious red sauce. They were served with a salsa on the side that was very fresh with lots of herbal notes and cilantro. Our service was good, but we did have to wait a while. But it's not really worth mentioning. Our servers brought everything we asked for including orange marmalade for the English muffins. We ate outside so I can't really speak to the indoor ambiance but outside there's a fair amount of street noise and maybe the music was a tad loud for our liking but was very pleasant. We met the owner John by chance who told us this place has been here 37 years and he brings his eggs from his ranch, and they were noticeably higher quality than the average egg. He absolutely cares about the business and his customers and employees, obviously he tajes pride in his craft. He told us he has employees who have been working for him that whole time and that speaks volumes. That's another thing, we told him it was so cheap!! We all had drinks, three entrees, and several sides and our bill was 45 dollars. Unbelievable in 2024, Absolutely recommend!!! read more

This is probably the best breakfast in San Pedro. They open early and close early (7am-3pm) and they have just about everything. Omelets are always on point and you can build your own. I always get their strawberry lemonade but their homemade orange juice is also super good!! The chicken fried steak is great and they have tv's all around so you can enjoy the news or a football game or two. Prices are very reasonable.. I think for two people breakfast is under $30 the service is very fast!!! The place is well lit and they even have outside seating for those who want to enjoy the beautiful weather we have here in Pedro. I'm a local so this review was well overdue! read more
