I went by this place a few times after hearing about it online. It looked good, but every time I went by they were closed. It turns out they aren't open after 3pm. By the way, I think they're missing out. That area needs a place to go in the evenings. So, anyway, I got there today at around ten and there were a good amount of people. The place seemed stylish and modern. You order up front and they bring your food to you. I was taken aback because they had at least 7 people working there. That's 5 people behind the bar, and two people in the back. I'm not sure how that makes sense budget-wise, but I'll leave that to the owner. One of the people behind the bar was what seemed to be a dedicated barista. I ordered the Chilaquiles, which was the thing that got me out there in the first place, and I got a decaf latté to go with it. The coffee came first, and it looked great, and tasted so good that I had to make sure that is was actually decaf. It was! It really hit the spot. The chilaquiles came and the were pretty good: Two sunny side up eggs, on the fried and sauced tortilla strips, with some queso fresco, a white and a green sauce, on a bed of Mexican style rice. Came here with another fellow foodie friend of mine to check it out. This place used to be a locals favorite ShinShin Chinese food. They've since remodeled and taken over the space. Sissy's Cafe has done a great job making it their own and bringing sophisticated cafe feel to this little town in San Pedro. It was buzzing and busy around the time we went which was a Monday around 10am. - 4 stars for the lavendar matcha I ordered. It was delicious, but I felt like the serving size was too small for the price $7-$8. It definitely left me wanting more. - 4 stars for the steak & eggs plate. Only because the serving size was way smaller than I expected for $16. It did come with beans, a strip of yummy toast (unconventionally good & oddly shaped), 3-5 slices of steak, and I believe it was 1-2 eggs. I was able to finish the whole plate. My friend ordered the strawberry matcha and hot chocolate. Not sure how it was but she said she loved it. I do want to go back and try their breakfast toast as they look super delicious. I was really excited to try Sissy's Cafe since it's a new spot in town and breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I had been seeing it all over TikTok, and since it's so close by, we decided to check it out. The space is super cute and aesthetically pleasing, and the customer service was great, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the food and drinks didn't quite live up to the hype. We ordered two iced vanilla lattes, and they tasted like burnt coffee with a lot of simple syrup. The salsas didn't have much flavor, and while the burrito was just okay, the breakfast sandwich was definitely better just very oily. The onion straws, though, were served cold. For $42, I was hoping for a bit better quality overall. To be fair, we didn't mention anything at the time since I had to rush to work, so we didn't give them a chance to fix it. I'd still be open to giving them another try because I really wanted to love it; it's just a little disappointing when you go in with high expectations and it doesn't quite hit. read more

This was my first time trying Sissy's. They were incredibly busy during the 12pm-1pm slot. Unfortunately my order got misplaced or forgotten but they handled it very professionally and made me feel better about the long wait. Service was great!! The food was amazing. I got the breakfast burrito and it was one of the best I've had in a really long time. I can't wait to come back and try the steak and eggs and their various breakfast toasts. It was very loud inside during the rush, so I'd recommended grabbing an outside table if you don't like loud spaces. It was very cute and clean inside besides that! The food was delicious. We both ordered the steak and eggs both steaks were cooked to perfection. It's pretty much a thick cut skirt steak with a yummy chimichurie sauce. Then we had to try an order of the French toast, which was sooooo delicious. It was topped with fruit and nuts, and it was on top of some sort of raspberry purée. That was just delicious. We didn't even need to add syrup to it. The two items I would like to point out is that I ordered a vanilla latte hot and it came cold and I was kind of surprised to find out when I walked in that you order your food at the counter and then they give you a number and you sit down and wait til they bring your food. If you're OK with that, then that's totally fine. I was wanting a full service experience for the occasion but the food and the rest of the service was really good. My first thought when walking in was how cute the place is. Very modern and clean and the chairs are SO comfy.. The menu is small but everything is delicious I'm sure. Definitely a brunch spot for us. You order and take your seat, my drink was ready pretty quickly and the food brought out after. It did get crowded and it's a Tuesday late morning, so I'm guessing weekends must be packed here. As mentioned before the place became crowded soon after we arrived and the parking was slim. Service: Came here on a Saturday morning and the house was FULL. Luckily the service was super quick and not lacking at all. You'd think with how busy it was we'd have to wait a while for our food and drinks but I was shocked to see everything come out quickly. You order at the counter but there was always a server nearby ready to attend to whatever you needed. As a former server I judge the service hard when I'm at a restaurant and Sissy's did not disappoint. I even saw the owners working so hard, which was sweet to see. You can see the care they put into the details of the operations of the restaurant, the food and the customers, which is so important. Food: OMG!!! The flavors tasted like I was at a delicious upscale restaurant but at an affordable/accesible price. I had the shakshouka and the Borgia. The shakshouka is as delicious as it looks, and the flavors in the Borgia were incredible, def my new go to. I also appreciated that both were unique, never seen either on a menu before. Breakfast burrito was perfectly seasoned and packed with ingredients. Steak and eggs!! Omg juicy, literally kept thinking about it when I left, it was topped with a fresh chimichurri and the beans it came with were delicious. Also the bread that comes with the plates is so good, buttery and toasty. TBH I'd go back just for that toast lol it might have had garlic on it too? Reminded me of the ports o call bread I used to fight my sisters over. I also didn't realize that they had pastries bc they were off to the side, but omg so glad I noticed bc the strawberry scone and blueberry muffin were so moist and REALLY good. I'm always afraid that scones will be too dry but this one was perfect, apparently they make them in house daily! Love that. I grabbed a to go coffee to have for the next day (caramel latte) and was sad I didn't grab more bc that was delicious too. I can't wait to try more items on the menu bc nothing disappointed. I went to this Cafe for the first time yesterday. Here is a quick list of things I really liked and what could have made the experience even better. Things I liked: 1 - Staff was nice, attentive and friendly 2 - The food and drink (tomato toast and strawberry matcha) were beautifully presented and delicious 3 - The outdoor tables with umbrellas made for an enjoyable outdoor eating environment What could make the experience even better (hence the reason for 4 stars vs. 5 stars) 1- THE NOISE LEVEL INSIDE WAS ALMOST DEAFENING. Our little street by Weymouth Corner has been waiting for a place like Sissy's! Small menu, but it's probably because they have perfected the dishes unlike having a bunch of items that are just okay. We visited Sissy's Cafe today and overall had a mixed experience. The decor is absolutely beautiful and the space itself is really nice, which made a great first impression. The line was pretty long, and because there seemed to be only one cashier, it moved slower than expected. I think it would really help to add a menu board outside so guests can decide before getting to the register instead of asking a lot of questions at the front. Having two cashiers during busy times would also make the flow much smoother. Another thing I noticed was how loud it was inside. Instead of yelling orders across the restaurant, using a microphone or speaker system might make things feel more organized and less chaotic. The biggest concern for me was sanitation. I noticed the barista repeatedly touching his hair while preparing coffee and then continuing without washing or sanitizing his hands. That honestly made me uncomfortable and raised concerns about cleanliness. We ordered the chilaquiles, and unfortunately they arrived cold. We still ate them because we were really hungry, but it was disappointing. The place definitely has a lot of potential because the ambiance is beautiful and the service was nice, but based on the food temperature and sanitation concerns, I'd rate the food a 3/5. read more

Update : This was the best French toast I've ever had ! The bread itself is about an inch thick, soft and fluffy on the inside with just the right amount of crispy on the outside. When I was first served they didn't bring any syrup so I was about to ask for the syrup , but then I thought maybe it doesn't need it It didn't !! It was perfectly syruped lol .As you can see , it comes w perfectly ripe bananas and blueberries on a bed of delicious strawberry preserves with a generous dab of a very soft mild cream cheese on top ! The finishing touch was a pretty flower It was so filling I was only able to eat about two thirds with hubby finishing it off for me ! You have to try it! read more

My husband and I decided to try Sissy's Cafe this morning for breakfast. The reviews looked good and we've been trying to find a good breakfast spot nearby. The parking can be a bit of a challenge but we lucked out and got a space close by. We were hoping to sit outside but there are only two tables and both were occupied. One was set up for 6 people and had three and the other for 4 and had two. Maybe have three set up for four and if there's a larger group they could combine the tables? Anyway, we went inside and took a table by the window which had bench seating against the window and the chairs they had were padded which is very nice. My husband had the breakfast burrito and large drip coffee. I ordered the Shakshouka and a hot Chai Tea. The food was excellent! We were both pleased with what we ordered. My husband thought the Shakshouka was a bit spicy but I thought it was just delicious. It definitely has some kick but I didn't think it was too spicy. I tried his breakfast burrito and it was delicious too! We both would order them again. The place is very noisy so that's a bit of an issue that they should work to correct. I placed our order so I got the coffee right away but the chai never came. I went back to inquire and it looked like the order got misplaced or something. The young man making the drinks went ahead and made it for me so I got it quickly and it was delicious. My husband said the coffee was ok and thought the large was kind of small. He's does grind and make his own coffee each morning so he's a bit particular so keep that in mind. Overall we loved our meal and definitely decided we found our new local breakfast spot.
