The food here is really good, can be a bit spicy at times. The meat has a very rich smoke flavor for one. The cheesy potatoes are different. I really like the chicken the best as far as meat goes. The folks are very friendly here and provide a good service. read more

I had lunch here several months ago while on a project in the area. I have to say the tiny little building it is in doesn't do it justice but makes for a hidden gem. The BBQ was absolutely fantastic and the blue collar atmosphere is perfect for this little place. The BBQ sauce was so good I ordered a extra mason jar of it and shipped it to my co-worker in another state. I love the pulled pork and the sausage as it was moist and tender. read more

One of my favorite places anywhere. The friendliest, most energetic staff in the world! The food is heaven. I used to go to this same location in high school. Stopped in and tried this Café; well this is not a Café, it is a BBQ Joint. The people are friendly and happy. I had Brisk, beans and potato salad, the wife got ribs, green beans and potato salad. We look for BBQ places that have that WOW factor and call you to come back for more. This did not have that factor. Now don't get me wrong, Freeport needs a BBQ place; I see these people are trying. I found the Brisk had no smoke flavor to it and the cuts were to large, beans were good and allowed the consumer to add salt if needed, potato salad had a good flavor but mine had a little powering of onion. I tried the wife's ribs and found they were under cooked and over spiced. I would say throw some Oak and Hickory logs on the fire and back off the cayenne some. Did not see any offering of Corn Bread or bread to good with the meal. This is for the local workman and would very tight if everyone sat at tables. I enjoy BBQ, being an associate of the National BBQ Association. read more
