Stopped here for lunch and it's a cute little building right on the lake. Good service, pretty standard bar food menu. There were some options for "super sandwiches" and I had the blt- pretty good- nothing fancy just the usual Wisconsin. I love pork shanks!!! Without a doubt, the pork shank I had last night at Sisters was the BEST I've ever had!! That includes some High-End German restaurants in Milwaukee. Stopped for lunch based on Yelp reviews. My burger was delicious. Asked for fried onions, which were generous and perfectly fried, in my opinion. Generous serving of fries. Sodas, however, were served in cocktail-sized glasses, which necessitated several refills. Otherwise good food and friendly service. My husband had one of the best pastrami sandwiches he's had. Went there and stayed right behind the place at Fawn Lake Lodge, owned by a great guy - great cabins. The bartendar was this great charachter named Norm. Big country guy, probably played football in his day. No one else was there, he kept the place open JUST for us - it was raining that night, only a few locals came in they didn't stay long. It was an August evening. - this was one of the top 20 best times of my life that night at this place. We were with 2 other families (at the cabins) Norm was inviting, great to talk with, the kids had fun(total of 6 kids ages 6 - 13 years - it was just a blast. Norm treated us well and even bought us some shots - he was great - I hope he's doing well - watch out for a little local guy - Jorie I think his name was ha ha ha, he'll get you to buy him drinks ha ha ha read more

We had the worst dinner in 30 years of coming to the Northwoods. Menu "sounded" like nice items and accompaniments but did not reflect what was served. Duck ($24.00) was like rubber. Mushroom Risotto was gummy instant rice with mushrooms mixed in. My wife's steak ($20.00) was over cooked, potatoes burnt. NO salad or soup. ?? At that price point, it is expected to have soup or salad and some bread for the table. Great food, amazing cold beer... parking lot is always packed so we finally stopped in on a Friday. At 4:30pm we barely beat the rush. Food is excellent, definitely 5 stars -- I had the perch, it was amazing, large portion, I was told they are known for their great cheesy hash browns, and I was not disappointed, I had clam chowder soup, it was fine, the waitress said it was the best ever, it was the standard clam chowder, very good but not special or extraordinary. Limited menu on Fridays, my wife had a New York Strip and was very pleased with it, she had baked potato with the most delicious glazed cooked carrots she has ever had, she even took home a side order for only two dollars, they were so good. Other side dishes and potatoes you could choose - french fries, coleslaw, rice, can't remember the other choices. Rye bread fresh & delicious. The waitress was hard-working and a staff of maybe 3 or 4 people were busy clearing tables, getting water, etc. Very good system. Amazingly FAST service and food. Definitely go there for fish fry, and other food, but get there early enough or be prepared to wait. You would think I would rate them a 5. Although they were overall good with service, speed and friendliness, we did have to wait for a 2nd beer because there were only 2 waitresses and ours was busy waiting on a large party so we were thirsty while she was taking their orders, getting their salads, etc. Understandable, but that is the nature of having just 2 waitresses in a packed place. We were told our waitress was an owner, so we were surprised she could not answer this question: Do you have any Craft beers or Micro beers? She was dumfounded and irritated, had a little bit of attitude, and said well, they had some Leinenkugel's. This in itself if not negative, although odd, but because of how busy they were, we were rushed to answer each question and she did not appreciate having to answer our stupid question about a micro brew so we had Miller 64 and Bud Light. You know, just beer. When she asked us if we needed anything else, which was nice, you had to answer real quick before she ran away, and you had to talk to her back because she was already running away to do her next task, so you had to talk quick and loud. If this is how it was at 4:30pm, I think it is safe to guess that is how it is all night. So if you want great food in a fast-paced environment, go for it. All ages in there and at bar, elderly to lots of kids and young people, loud and casual, very enjoyable overall. Hard-working staff. Little snappy with answers... "what are you known for? What is really great?" The answer: everything (in a snappy tone). Don't ask questions. Just order. Don't ask twice what the choice of potato is, either. When I ordered a baked potato, she did inform us that her cheesy hash brown potatoes were a specialty item, and at that point, said "well, you did ask what was the best so I'm just telling you." She was right. But she didn't appreciate the question when asked that 60 seconds earlier, when we began to order. We've been coming to St Germain area for 40 years with our families, the first time we every ate here because we stopped in a dozen or so times over all of these years for a drink and bartender was so rude or cocky we just all walked out, or slammed down one drink so we could move on to a friendlier place. Always shocking to find out that cocky bartenders are the owners. Why go into a business like this if you don't like people who have the nerve to talk to you?? I guess to make money, or make people happy with good food. Pretty good food in 2015, service can be great, depends on who you get. Better than average for Bar Food, for sure. Have had great meals/sandwiches and adequate meals. Definitely worth checking out. Hope you catch them on a good day. Price range is not really 0-10 or 11-30, it is more like $8 - $15. read more

One of our bikes broke down on the bike trail right across the highway from Sisters. What a fortuitious delay! While the women had appetizers and cocktails, the guys went back to the house to get a car to pick up the bike. The wait staff could not have been more accommodating. After reading others reviews of the Friday fish fry at Sisters Saloon, I'm wondering if the 6 of us are all way off...Our group waited for over an hour for the fish fry, by then things had slowed down and there were empty tables in the restaurant so I'm thinking that the cooks aren't overwhelmed in the kitchen. We all ordered the deep fried fish....it came and was barely warm, it swam in a layer of cooking oil and was so thin that I wondered if there were actually any fish between the layers of breading...bottom line, definitely not the best place I've been for fish and certainly will not go back or recommend..oh, I forgot to mention, the dry half slice of rye and the cole slaw that was floating in a mix of dressing were nothing to write home about either...I have only been to this place once in the past, on St Patricks for the corned beef dinner which I really enjoyed..so, go figure.... read more

We went to Sisters again this year on Vacation for Friday night Fish Fry. The Fish is always great there when we go. Actually the whole meal is great . The cheesy hash browns are a must try for those of you have not had them. The only downside is the attitude of the blonde Hostess we had to deal again with this year. When you approach her to give her your name and number in your party she gives you a look that could melt ice! And her tone is that of someone who seems bothered that you came in the place . I understand that there will be a wait when we get there the place is not that big. Our group And several others saw couples being seated that came in after us to put there name in. I don't know if favoritism is given to locals or regulars here but it does not look good for business treating people like this. So On food Five stars! Service was fair! When asking for more potatoes instead of fish! On an all you can eat fish fry I was told not enough potatoes for seconds! But I could have more fish. I am in the food business and I know for a fact potatoes are cheaper than pollack. You make more miner filling customers up with potatoes than Fish!
