First: DANNY SHEBAT DESERVES 5 STARS. I'm sorry I can't say the same for Sit N' Sleep as a whole. My husband and I bought an expensive mattress at 50% off because it had been returned. When the mattress was delivered, we received it, put sheets on and tried it out. It was defective. It had multiple points where the coils were providing no support, and we would sink down into the mattress. We called immediately customer service and they said they would send over a "specialist" to measure the defects. The specialist took measurements that clearly showed the mattress was defective (FYI: the specialist will write up a report - I asked him to let me take a picture of his notes since I didn't get a copy of it - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO THIS). The specialist said that he would send our case over to Sit N' Sleep who let us know whether they would replace the mattress or not. As I'm sure you can imagine, they rejected our claim because of some ridiculous "manufacturer" policy. Enraged, I called customer service and explained to them that I did not buy the mattress from the manufacturer, I bought it from Sit N' Sleep, so it shouldn't be the manufacturer's responsibility to replace it, it is the company's responsibility. They were completely unhelpful and didn't care with the face I had just blown a ton of money on a defective mattress. Luckily, I was able to get a hold of Danny Shebat and he spoke to the manager who helped us get replacement that was not defective. Seriously, this guy is the best. He should go open his own independent store and then I would definitely go there. read more

I was on the fence on whether to post my review or not but I feel I had to. My review is for the experience that I had a couple weeks ago. I am a repeat customer. They sell great products but I don't think I will ever go back to this particular location. Came in with my mother to buy a new mattress along with a new bed platform. The salesman, who also happens to be the store manager, Joe i think is his name, was attended us was smooth, charming, complimented us, thanked us for being repeat customers, and promised he'd take care of us for it. The promises and deals were flying out his mouth like they were going out of style. He'd give us a deal cuz i made him laugh, he'd give us a deal for that...blah blah blah...it went on and on. Then came time to sit and get a price on everything. And thats when everything turned ugly. It was a Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde. A complete 180 from when he was showing us around. It was down right rude and disgusting. I truly regret not walking out. All the deals he promised went out the window. When I asked him about it, he shamed ME for drawing my own conclusions from all of HIS promises. ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!??? I asked 'what about being a three-peat costumer?His response was "what do you want? A million thanks!" EXTREMELY RUDE. My experience buying my car was much less dreadful. Even the free freaking pillow he promised us, he reneged on. Snaky and sheisty is the best way to describe my experience with Joe at this Sit n Sleep. I would not have been looking for or asking for any deals had HE not made the promises. I would have paid sticker price. He set up those pre-conceived notions. NOT ME. i've bought my last two mattresses from this sit 'n sleep, the first time because i got a good deal on a cheap mattress, the second time because of the first mattress and because i thought i got a good deal on a moderate mattress. next time i will most definitely shop around more vigorously because i think i could have done better. which is difficult because mattress world is a scam like timeshares and auto repair and work at home job training. most mattress stores look like fronts for bookies. mattress manufacturers use different model names for different retailers so you can't compare them directly for price. free delivery, bed frames, pillows, these are all negotiation chips. use them wisely and never pay the tagged price. i was delivered the wrong mattress and was stuck with it for two weeks until they could bring me the one i paid for. the first delivery guys were ok, on the second team one guy was checking out everything in my house, asked how much i had paid for a watch, then stopped in the driveway on the way out asking if the mustang was mine and if anyone was interested in selling it. next purchase, security camera and a shotgun. sadly, mattress-hunting is just a matter of looking until you find the one and then hopefully hammering out a deal. $300, $1000, $2500, except for the tempurpedic they all start to crater eventually. sure there's a warranty but they send people to your home to measure the depression and there's a whole pachinko board your claim has to go through before you would see any payoff from their prorated refund schedule. my current thought is buy the cheapest best mattress or the best cheap mattress and just plan on its impending obsolescence. read more

I went in there a few evenings ago and at first the sales man was nice, but just as I was about to make my purchase he gave me attitude about the delivery. I asked him if I could request a morning delivery and he said I would have to pay almost $200 more for that, and even then he couldn't promise anything. I told him I was disappointed that he couldn't work with me, and he rudely said that it doesn't work that way and I would have to work with him. I called mattress connection while inside sit n sleep and Jeff, who answered the phone, was so much nicer and actually had a better price on the mattress I wanted, so I left and bought my mattress from them. We had a GREAT experience with Steve Moreno!! He found us a mattress that my husband and I could both agree on and we are really excited for our new bed. We were across the street at Ortho first but didn't really see what we were looking for and there was a guy in there telling us "Bro,this is the only place to buy a mattress, bro!", so that was annoying. Nothing against Ortho but it also smelled REALLY heavy of strange cologne and Sit n Sleep smelled clean and neutral and that's a plus when buying a bed. Steve also sold us the pillows that have the cooling gel and they seem amazing. We kept laying down so we could rest out head on the pillows( I think they are tempurpedic, but I'm not sure) but they have some cooling gel and it was soooo nice. Long story long, we loved Steve!! Walking in to a mattress store is sort of like walking in to a car dealer; you FEEL the salespersons presence big time but in this case it was the opposite. Working with Danny Shebat was so easy and a pleasure. The whole process took maybe 30 minutes. When I need another mattress I will definitely go back to Sit 'n Sleep and ask for Danny. Kudos to the Glendale store!! NOTE: The Glendale store definitely won my business after visiting the Burbank store and seeing a "be back in 30 minutes" sign numerous times. I am downtown Burbank quite a bit so this store was easy to drop in to (if it was open); and yes I waited the 30 minutes and called corporate to see if I could gain access to the store. We were so happy and impressed with Matt at Sit N Sleep in Glendale that we purchased one from him.....not on the spot though. This area of town is interesting because it's filled with mattress stores. There had to be at least 8! We ended up going across the street to Leed's where a not-so-friendly salesmen offered us a better price on the mattress of our choice. If your older folks are going there, FOLLOW THEM cuz they might get ripped off by unconscientious salesmen. The way they deal with customers is crap. The saleman Danny shabet or shibet was lying to me without changing any facial expression. He was keep insisting me to buy this mattress since they have crazy deals. I was not sure so i told him i ll be back. Then he said just make 100 dollar deposit and if i change my mind then he would give my money back. So i deposited 100 and just 15 min later i went back dor my money back and he said he doesnt have it! Are you kidding?? He said they ll have to mail the check for the 100 cash that i paid 15 min ago! Where the hell is the ligic? I put my deposit expecting i will get my miney on the spot and he told me that their policy is they sent check from the headquarter which takes days. He did not tell me about this and I am so pissed at how he was just insisting me to buy the bed since the refund takes long time. I ended up buying a bed at ORTHO MATTRESS right across from this $hit H0le. They were mire informative and not trying to rip me off. All this madness took place in 11/12/2014. Today is 11/24/2014 i have not gotten my refund check yet because this mediocre ignorant salesman did not put the right address. The salesperson never mentioned to us that there was a no money refund only Exchange. We bought a adjustable bed that doesn't even work properly spent over $1,000 and I can't even get a refund or an exchange on something else. The only thing that they will allow you to exchange is the mattress which doesn't make sense that I can exchange a mattress but not an adjustable bed. We are now exchanging our mattress because they fail to bring us the one that I picked at the store. Your return policy is a joke !! Walked in on a Sunday, wasnt busy at all. Was greeted by Mr. John Ely who was refreshing, knowledgeable & very polite. I asked him for an affordable king sized bed & pointed me to the direction of a bed i had looked into online. Quickly matched my credit, in & out within 30 mins My bed included a 10 year warrantee with all parts included- even a bed protector. Will shop here again in the future. Also quick delivery although the bed arrived a week later than expected. Not only he explained to us the differences between memory foam, hybrid, and spring mattresses, but he also gave us an incredible deal! He made an offer we could not refuse! LOL! Danny was pleasant, polite, and we did not feel any pressure to buy anything. He is NOT one of those creepy and pushy sales person. Sure online prices may be a little lower but without being able to feel the item, you will never know the quality of the mattress you are buying until they arrive.
