From the moment we entered the store I knew we were in the right place. Kendrick greeted us with a friendly hello and a warm smile which shown through his eyes because of course we were all wearing our protective masks. My husband and I explained to Kendrick that we just received our mattresses a few days ago and that while my husband was delighted with the Technogel EstasiII mattress, I was miserable. Kendrick immediately said "we can't have that"! After explaining that the cool gel layer aggravated my arthritis to the point of being sleepless for two days, he suggested we consider a compatible mattress without the gel top. He advised that we'd need to call customer service because the company's "comfort exchange" policy usually ask that a client try the mattress for a month or two; however, given the cool gel wasn't going to change ... He provided us with the number to customer service and my husband called and was given approval post haste. Kendrick handled me with kit gloves. He listen. He got it. He allowed me to try several options and advised of some possible incompatibility concerns that may occur with my husband's Technogel. With his help I chose the Tempurpedic Poadapt mattress with which I feel very comfortable. It will be delivered/exchanged on Tuesday. This review is for our sales contact Kevin, who is phenomenal. My husband and I met him recently when we came to the store looking for a new king sized bed. He was friendly, super knowledgeable and pleasure to work with. Unfortunately, once we chose our bed and had it delivered, there were some issues. We immediately called Kevin and this is where he really came through for us. The problem with our bed originated with the bed manufacturer, and not something that was within the store's control. Many other stores would not have taken care of the problem so quickly and with such consideration to the customer. We were super happy that this wasn't the case at Sit & Sleep. Buying a new mattress was daunting - confusing and expensive. We came here first and then went to three other places to check products and prices. The knowledge and helpfulness (without high pressure) at Sit 'n Sleep exceeded the other stores, so we came back and bought here. Teresa was our guide to the confusion and was absolutely terrific - so knowledgeable and helpful! It's hard to compare prices because what seems to be the same beds are named differently at different stores; but as close as I can tell, we bought the same bed for less than two other stores offering the same mattress. Teresa suggested the protective encasement covers, which we wanted, but were very expensive. Decided to try them because I hadn't been happy with the two types I'd bought previously. I now see why they're expensive - you can't tell they're on (versus my other ones that felt odd and sounded like plastic). We're happy with the mattress and time will tell if it lasts well, but we're very pleased with this store's products and service. read more

Thank you for selling us a crappy bed! My wife and I could not be more disappointed with the purchase that we made. When we were trying to decide, the salesperson showed us a bed that was an upgrade or step up above Seally, we tested it out while in the store, liked it and decided on it. After about 2 months of owning the bed, our backs started to become sore so we thought we could return it within the 90 day period but turns out we could only exchange and would also have to pay a restocking fee. We were actually told we could return so be very careful when purchasing. This bed is horrible! It's already worn where there is a soft spot or cavity from where we sleep. I weigh 180 pounds and my wife is maybe 115 pounds and this bed is already showing signs of wear. You know when something is wrong when the bed is not flat and the center is the highest point. I was shopping and price checking for mattresses and wasn't initially expecting to make a purchase right away. Fred Powell was really great! He greeted me right as I walked in the door, walked me through everything and made sure I found a bed I would love sleeping on. I wasn't expecting to buy a frame or anything either, but ended up getting an adjustable base. I got a good deal and Fred threw in a few perks. Fred wasn't pushy at all, but I was really moved by the product and the cute little video they play for you when they test you for your ideal bed, haha. There's financing as well! I visited 3 Mattress Connections right before this and received shoddy, pushy service and the test mattresses needed cleaning. I'd skip the nearby stores and just go to this one. read more

OK, we needed or wanted a new mattress and Sit n Sleep was our 2nd stop. And we met the now (at least on Yelp) famous Doug. We had no idea and for once I didn't read the Yelp reviews (dumb on my part, because I would have known about famous Doug) and so in we walked. Doug first told us to lay down on this contraption type deal so we can find out what type mattress you need. I'm pretty cynical and thought what a bunch of hooey this was. Well, holy crap I learned something and now we could make an intelligent decision about a pricy item. We ended up with a great deal and feeling more informed than when we walked in. Doug was so helpful and other than not having a buffet (I was starved at the time) it was a great spot. I highly recommend both this location and the now more famous Doug!!! So there. We bought a mattress that didn't work for us and they didn't let us upgrade or change our mattress (within 60 days, as promised) because they said there were stains. Even considering that we didn't have any kind of orientation about the usage, the mattress has been covered since first day, because we have kids. Also when we bought another mattress ($650,00 more than the first one) we bought a frame, that wasn't related to the mattress and we paid for the product and installation (which wasn't installed, they took it back and said that if I wanted to keep the frame I would have to go to the store and pay for it). ‍ This is my stained mattress And my bed without a frame. read more

My sister and I were not greeted and asked what we were there for. We walked around for 20 minutes hoping someone would see us and offer us assistance. We noticed there were employees that weren't assisting other customers and wondered why they weren't asking us if we needed help. My sister and I look very young and did not feel like we were being taken seriously as customers. I finally asked for help but the man did not really seem like he cared too much to ask me about what I was looking for. I told him I wanted something firm for my back. I felt very rushed. I did end up purchasing a mattress and went to the warehouse to pick it up. After placing it on my bed it was a little too long and it was not firm enough. I bought it yesterday so today I called back to ask about a return policy. The woman on the phone hung up on me so I called back. I was finally told there is no return policy, only exchange, and that there is a 20% restocking fee. The man who sold me the mattress did not inform me about this. He just mentioned the warranty. I am not trying to get him or any of their associates in trouble. I just wish I had a positive customer service experience. This was not acceptable and I am not satisfied with the product. My parents recently purchased a mattress here and recommended I check it out. I wish I had gone to Costco where they offer excellent customer service and return policies but I went to Sit N Sleep feeling confident that being that it is a store where people make big and important purchases the experience would be more positive. I also felt positive it would be a good experience since it came recommended form people I trust. I am very disappointed in the treatment my sister and I received. So I've never been one to shop in store but to be honest, today I had a great experience with Rafael. He took the time to make us feel welcome while shopping for a new bed. I am thoroughly excited for our choice to arrive tomorrow and to hopefully be free of my shoulder pain. We currently have an IKEA bed right now, however, I went in thinking I was going to walk out with a Tempurpedic but lo and behold, Rafael showed me the technogel by Favola and we absolutely loved it. Came in today to sample the new tempur-pedics as mine is 6 years old, beginning to sag and Tempur-pedic is in the process of replacing my mattress under the warranty for free. They gave me a list of beds to try out and I stopped by Sit & Sleep to check them out. Leed's where I purchased the mattress was closed today ! I was greeted by Gil who was very informative, gracious even though he knew i was not in to buy. So far I have been handling the warranty process myself but Gil suggested I definitely go back to Leed's and have them handle it, which I will do first thing tomorrow morning. I was familiar with the store based on the owners Ads but I did not expect to be so impressed with the store manager, then the security guard at the warehouse and then the guy at the warehouse who helped us load the bed. It is clear from the interactions I had with them that, behind the marketing, you have built a very impressive business culture. As I was driving back w our 21 year old daughter, who is incredibly intuitive, she stated "dad, I loved everybody I met at sit and sleep today. I would never buy a bed here. I went into this store tonight and saw the salesmen not wearing masks but as soon as we walked in they put on masks. The salesmen attempted to take my temperature with a temp gun to my forehead which is illegal. NO ONE other than medical professionals are qualified to take a persons temperature. You cannot lay on the beds without a protective sheet because they fear covid. Covid does not live on surfaces. There was no one in the store and they had the audacity to try and take my temperature. It is outrageous that with all the science available, that this corporate store has these policies. I feel sorry for the employees. Someone is going to sue them for this. I bought a new TempurPedic queen mattress after replacing my 28 year old old dingy mattress. I knew that Torrance had A LOT of mattress stores, but given its well known store name, I took a chance to walk in to look for a new mattress. Located right on Hawthorne Blvd across from Jerome's and South Bay BMW, there's ample parking in the lot. I dealt with sales associate, Kevin Brentlinger. He couldn't have been more warm, helpful, funny, and honest with his service. He didn't push me to buy the most expensive mattress, as I knew what I wanted from when I walked in. He allowed us to use these sheets to protect ourselves from picking up any germs, so we were able to lay the sheets on the bed, and try them out. We slept in all different forms--on our backs and on our sides. He gave us the option to buy the adjustable base, which at first, we were skeptical, but I so wanted it since it's kind of fancy, so we went for it! Kevin broke down the price, and we agreed on it, and Sit N Sleep delivered it the very next day. The store is amazing, the service is wonderful, and the prices are fair. My husband and I went in last week to get a new mattress and box-spring. Fred Powell helped us. We told him what degree of firmness we were interested in and that we were curious about the adjustable beds. He asked us a series of questions to pinpoint what we needed. After explaining to us that box-springs were no longer part of the bed he explained how the adjustable beds work. He then proceeded to take his time and recommended several mattresses for us to try. We went back and forth while he asked us questions about what felt good or bad about each bed. After a bit, we were able to zero in on a mattress that felt just right for us. He then recommended an appropriate adjustable base. He checked availability on the product we wanted and advised us he could have it delivered the next day. After a quick checkout process we were out of there with a smile on our faces. As promised, the bed was delivered the next day, on time. The delivery guys were able to bring the new pieces upstairs (carefully, so as to not bang into the walls) and install them. We thought we were going to have to get rid of our antique bed frame, but Elmer and his partner, were able to figure out how to make it all work together. Bonus points for that! We were not looking forward to this experience, but Fred Powell at the Sit N Sleep in Torrance made it a breeze. Great experience!!! Thanks everyone. Just took my Ma in for her first new mattress after 40 years. Her back has been aching and she just couldn't take it - she wanted something immediately. Michael was very nice, patient, and clear with all the information. We were able to have a thorough trial of a handful of options after she laid on a sleep surface tester that determined what kind of mattress she should consider.
