I met a friend here for dinner on a Friday night. We were warmly greeted upon arriving and seated promptly. Our server was amazing, she was tending a full bar and waiting on tables. Our drinks came first then we split the duck wings. Now when was the last time you saw duck wings on a menu? we had to try them and were happy we did. Next we had our entrees. I had the tavern cod and my friend had the goat salad with salmon. My meal was really tasty and so was my friend's salad however she noted that the salmon was overcooked. The tavern is like a locals place. Many conversations and people in and out. It was cozy , Quite friendly and unpretentious. The prices are mid range. Check them out!

Came here after visiting the amazing library that's nearby. The Mocktail, my sister and I had was delicious. However, we were not a fan of any of the food we got. I would say everyone was really nice. The service was great, but the food wasn't and that's the main reason I go to a restaurant aside from good service of course

Went to the Sitting Duck in Stratford, place has various locations across CT. Just got a few bites to eat and sat in the bar area. Shared some Philly Egg rolls, steak tips and a Bird Cage chicken sandwich. Everything was pretty good, the steak tips were my favorite, came with a good pepper aioli to dip in. The Philly Egg rolls were different, almost had a Mexican vibe to them with adding the green pepper, they weren't bad, just different, enjoyed the dipping sauce those came with. Fries and chicken sandwich were tasty, nothing special. Good place to grab a drink and snacks.

We started our meal with the Zbar Calamari - which had hot cherry peppers, basil and hot oil. This was just enough to take those hunger pains away. The calamari was fresh and the hot oil was a nice addition. Our meals - mine the cadillac burger had both bbq sauce and chipotle ranch with cheddar cheese blend and fronions. Just enough topping so your not all messy but enough that the burger tasted really good. I asked for my fries well done so they had a nice crisp and were so good I used no ketchup. My husband's meal was a swordfish with a nice sear with a creamy pesto pasta. My husband does not have the opportunity for swordfish often. However, he was very happy with his swordfish today. His meal came with a large portion of pasta so we shared it. A small but well done menu.

Got the Thai salad- lettuce was wilted and salad was small and skimpy- nothing to it. The sitting stir fry was ok, too saucy and you have to tell them to go light on the sauce as it is otherwise it just tastes like pure salt. The kids pasta is soaked in butter. My kids wouldn't even eat it. Broccoli was inedible. I would never go back. Wait staff were friendly but really very bad food.

Noooo! Ordered takeout from here for the first time! While I was pretty happy with my salad that was "Tex Mex /lime inspired, it didn't have any lime flavor. The cheesesteak egg rolls didn't taste like anything, you really could say it had any filling because I could tell cheesesteak at all. But the most disappointing was the boneless wings, $15 for 5 and they were sooo dry!! They were over cooked and you really had to drink water to get them down. The "mango habanero" flavor was undetectable as they were dry rub and flavorless. Bummer!!

The service was great here but sadly the food was not the best; the soup was great, the portion for the beef plate was underwhelming, and the beef tips were a tad bit over-salted. I have been to the Trumbull and Oxford locations and although the menus vary I think it's better to go to one of those locations! However, the homey feel and warm ambiance is lovely here in the Stratford location

Stopped in for an impromptu early dinner for the first time. Cute little tavern with a small dining room & bar area. They also have an outdoor patio area. Music was spot on in this feel-good vibe dive space. Our server, Sean was super attentive to our needs while also watching the bar. I would have liked to see a bigger dinner entree selection, but they had some unique fare on their menu. We had the Pierogies, fabulous mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, cheesesteak egg rolls, and the birdcage chicken sandwich. Food was amazingly delicious & prices were average. We would definitely stop back again when in this neck of the woods!

My second time dining at 29 Markle Court yesterday! When…read morefirst I was introduced to this restaurant: an impromptu visit with a group, and we shared small plates, family style. It was delicious! This time, I reserved a table for four, including guests who were up to an adventurous evening. The place was hopping! A Friday evening fun atmosphere and a beautiful bar that reminded me of a Paris restaurant. We were seated at a great table with banquettes in a corner of the front dining room. Our waitperson was excellent- energetic, informed of the menu, friendly & interactive, I believe her name was Shamira. We received great recommendations for dishes on the menu accommodating certain preferences. Following Cocktails - from the usual order of Scotch, to the " Crimson" spicy, indeed. The "Wanderer" imbiber said she could sip them all night. I, being mostly just a wine drinker, ordered from the "unusual wines" - a delicious white wine from Languedoc named "Picpoul De Pinet, Feline Jourdan", which paired very well with both courses. Based on my enthusiasm we all shared a bottle with our Main Course! Total alignment. We shared Caesar salads, which were excellent. Everyone enjoyed their selection of a main course: Halibut with corn risotto, Shrimp & Grits with spicy red sauce (just right spicy), My dish was Mussels in ginger & lemongrass red Curry, paired with grilled bread for soaking up that sauce, Yum!; a Whole Red Snapper with Mole sauce for my husband - most adventurous diner of the evening! We stretched ourselves to order two desserts: Crème Brûlée and Goat Cheesecake! Sublime. On departing the Restaurant, we were thanked for dining by the Proprietor, Wesley. We had an inspiring conversation about Bridgeport's future. A memorable evening.

Tucked in downtown Bridgeport with easy street…read moreand garage parking nearby, 29 Markle Court walks in with serious style -- the decor is chic, the atmosphere is warm and cool at the same time, and it genuinely feels like somewhere you'd expect to find in a much bigger city. Drinks first: my slightly dirty martini was made exactly right. My friend went with cosmo and it was equally on point. Whoever is behind that bar has their act together. Then the food happened. We started with grilled bread with an EVOO, agave, and chile dip -- sounds simple, ate like a statement. The char on the bread, the heat and sweetness of that dip. Good sign of things to come. Main event: shrimp and grits. Guinea flint grits, spicy red sauce, sage, stock. I don't say this lightly -- this is one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. The grits were creamy and rich, the sauce had real depth and heat, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. The whole bowl just worked on every level. Dessert: goat cheesecake with pistachio dust and berry compote. Tangy, creamy, not too sweet, and that pistachio dust on top was a perfect finish. We cleared the plate.

I had the cheesesteak but there was a lot of liquid in the sandwich which caused it to fall apart from what seemed to be from the premade and overcooked onions and peppers. I couldn't finish the sandwich because of the liquid and overcooked onions and peppers. While the food wasn't the greatest, the drinks and the service was good and timely.
