I am literally just home from getting my hair done here by Stephanie. I am sooo happy and satisfied with how my hair turned out. I described what I wanted and how my hair had been cut before, my lifestyle etc and didn't even need inspo photos for her to understand exactly what I was looking for. Stephanie is very precise and you can tell that she really cares about the experience and the way she cuts your hair, and she's very easy to talk to but I can tell I would be just as comfortable with her if I wasn't in a chatty mood. I was at sivana salon within the last few weeks, my stylist was wonderful but something has been bothering me about the stylist next to me, i felt as though she had a harsh and demeaning tone to her clients as well as other employees at the salon. I don't know her name. Tall with reddish brown hair, I witnessed a ton of eye-rolling , condescending behavior and it just made me uncomftorable as everyone else seemed lovely and excited to be there. i went to this salon two weeks ago for a balayage by diana and it was awful like seriously a straight yellow line around my head with awful money pieces. She was nice enough the same day when she recognized how awful it came out to fix it as best as she could. But it was still rough. I do have relatively thick hair but I rather be rejected by a salon then left with ruined hair. I came back to get the glaze redone by kate ( they demanded I pay for the blowout ??) & that fell out the next day then I came back & that glaze fell out. So reasonably I asked for a refund from the owner steven. What a jerk. I provided screenshots of our conversation so you all can see how poorly I was treated. I was so nice throughout the process because I understand mistakes happen however when that service isn't fulfilled to the expectation that was set, then I should get a complete refund. If you want the best vibrant, lasting color, you HAVE to go to Emi. I will never go to anyone else now. I've gone to her twice and I've never been complimented more on my hair in my entire life. Strangers will walk up to me and ask who did my hair. I went to Emi for the first time to get bright pink hair. Not only did it look amazing on day one, it faded so beautifully and looked professionally done four months later! She also knows her stuff and told me exactly how to take care of it and make it last. Then I went to her again and asked if we could do blue. She's the only colorist I saw who said she could do it! I went to so many consultations before her who told me it's nearly impossible to go pink to blue. Also, people always told me that blue is SO hard to upkeep- even by month two, it still looked the same as when I left the salon! You feel like a star in the salon when you're with Emi because everyone is impressed by her. On top of everything else, she actually cares about you as a person. Conversation with her is so much more than superficial timefiller. If you're getting intense colors, you're going to be spending like four to five hours with her, so it's so wonderful that she's also a great person to talk to! [Writing on my husband's account] I moved to Smithtown recently from CT and found Sivana from their great yelp reviews. This was my second trial which was unfortunately NOT good at all. I thought that perhaps the first time I went it was busy and not a good representation but this time around was just as bad. Started with the appointment running 45 minutes behind schedule which would've been understandable (for a Saturday) but my haircut was TERRIBLE!! Although the coloring was decent (not what I wanted but still looked fine), my haircut was way too short and the shaping was awful. Sadly I wasted money yet again and will have to pay someone to now undo the bad haircut. :( read more

Just recently had my first appointment with Emilie and she did MAGIC on my hair. I showed up with blue/black/purple/green/brown grown out roots and thought I could only go dark brown/black. When I told her brown/black she asked if that's what I really wanted and I said nope! I want copper but I didn't think it was possible! And she made it HAPPEN. I was in dire need of some highlights and a cut and Sivana was the perfect solution! I was able to snag a last minute Saturday morning appointment with Nicole. I was surprised at 9 am how busy it was here. I was happily greeted by the girl at the front desk upon walking in, and felt a really comfortable vibe at this salon. All of the staff members were cheery and seemed really nice. The place was just recently remodeled and it looks sleek and modern. It appears smaller from the outside but the inside is huge and has so many styling chairs. My hairdresser Nicole totally saw my vision for the color I wanted and made sure everything that she did on me was exactly how I wanted it. She also gave me an awesome cut and blowout. I've been going to Sivana since I was a little kid. My mom used to see Steven when he was in Huntington Station. I've had my hair done by many of the stylists over the years and I've always been more than satisfied with the results. Everyone is so sweet and accommodating and the stylists always listen to what you want and give you realistic advice. Everyone asks me why I would make the half hour trek just to get my hair done, but I tell them it's because I know that I'll be happy with the results and Sivana has never given me a reason to go elsewhere. I'm currently seeing Lisa for my crazy colors and she is spectacular. I'd list all the people I recommend, but I'd probably just end up with a list of the entire staff so... Just go. I had gone to this salon years ago but then I moved out of state. I missed how great this place was and would always make an appointment when I was back in town. Recently I moved back here and started seeing Kylie regularly. I've had three appointments with her so far, 2 color and 1 color&cut. My hair has never looked better! She is so helpful - I never know what to say (super indecisive) when she asks what we're doing with my hair. She asks me direct questions to really narrow in on what I'm looking for. During my last appointment when I got a haircut, she gave me great tips based on my particular blow dryer to achieve the same look at home. Who doesn't need a little help in that area?? I had a good feeling about this place as soon as I spoke with them. We showed up early for the appointment and they took her right in. I was skeptical at first because their website comes up as a potential phisher site despite trying on my phone, laptop, work computer and iPad. But a friend recommended the place to me and said everyone was great. I took a chance and went for a haircut there, and was VERY glad I did! Katie Ann did my haircut and blow dry, and she was great! She talked to me beforehand about what I wanted and guided me towards a cut that I love. She was very efficient and even gave me a first timers discount at the end which was a nice surprise!! The hair wash beforehand was also very nice with a little scalp massage that felt great. She also did a great job with eyebrow threading! The place is clean and everyone is very friendly. Unlike some other salons that give people titles and it means nothing, the system for moving up through the business is well respected and valued here at Sivana. I absolutely love it here! I've been here now three times and have had a haircut and three blowouts. I have had an assistant, a jr. Stylist and a senior stylist all of which were amazing. I've never left sivana not feeling absolutely amazing and fabulous. I've had Brittani, senior stylist, Michelle Gruber, junior stylist, and Stacy, hair assistant. All three times my hair looked and felt fabulous, had tons of bounce and maintained a shininess that had been incomparable. Brittani cut my hair and trust me for someone who doesn't cut her hair too often. I did extensive research in picking a place. I have extremely curly hair and she did an amazing job! Cut off a whole 18 inches and left me feeling like the possibilities of what I could do to my hair were sill endless and they were! She truly brought life back into my hair. I read tons of reviews and went with a few recommendations from a FB group. I was in my cousins bridal party & had my hair & makeup done. My hair didn't come out at all like I asked but it was a very pretty bun. The front was so so. Not horrible but not pretty. My makeup however was a complete disaster! I had gone in to see the artist before the wedding with makeup on so she could see me. I am 47 but did not expect to look 60 when I walked out. She packed on a ton of foundation & concealer. My eyemakeup was just ok. My eyebrows were so crooked I had to ask her to fix them which she did by adding more heavy makeup on the upper Brow line. I paid for services rendered but will never return. it took almost 5 makeup wipes to undo what she did. Got off all that foundation, I re-blended the eye makeup and at least I looked my age again. Total wast of money and time. If you are in a wedding, don't go here! read more

I was going back and forth on switching hair salons. As anyone would understand this is a nerve wrecking decision. But my last salon was over priced and i always paid $200-$400 for something i didn't want. What could be worse than another bad haircut? I finally gave in, being a holiday wknd, i really needed a haircut badly. So I called, maybe an hour and half prior to closing asking if anyone was available for a haircut. The receptionist was very prompt and helpful and said if i made it prior to 5pm Nicole would be able to take me. So i made few minutes short of 5pm. I was checked in, filled out new client form and met with Nicole to discuss what i was looking for, as i already have been sitting on chopping all my hair off i showed her a pinterest photo, which she welcomed. Girls at the last salon would roll their eyes. So she assessed and voiced exactly what would be done. My hair was washed and seated for the haircut. Nicole was very vocal in asking me if the length was ok and if i wanted more cut off to not be afraid to voice it. She was amazing and my haircut came out amazing and perfect! (Must mention, this haircut didn't hurt my wallet like the last place) Im very pleased with this salon and their service. This will be my permanent salon going forward. read more
