So at the end of the school year we went on a field trip to SixFlags and wow! I went to this park before but I was pretty young so I was scared to go on the roller coasters. You know, Texas giant, Batman, titan, etc. but now that I was older and figured out that roller coasters were safer than cars, I decided that I was ready to tackle these absolute godsends of entertainment. Seriously I genuinely believe that six flags over Texas is easily one of the best six flags parks, PERIOD. If I do have one complaint I'd say the food here is a bit too expensive. But then again that's just a nitpick of mine. I highly recommend this place for a family, a group of friends, or even by yourself! A solid 4/5 all the way through. read more

We came here for our first part of spring break vacation. We are from Houston. The park was nice and clean for the most part. They had hand sanitizer all over the park. I made sure the kids were using it and washing their hands regularly. I was a little disappointed that a lot of the rides were closed. We are going to stop by again today and hopefully they will be open so the kids can ride them before we head back home. Also the food was bad and expensive. read more

If I could give Six Flags Over Texas negative stars, I would! I purchased a season ticket membership for 2 children and 4 adults, and paid for the membership over a year. When covid hit on March 2020, I called to cancel my membership (in addition to the fact that they were CLOSED- my grandson is medically fragile and too young to get the vaccine). I could not do it online (so I didn't have a written confirmation), but was assured my membership was canceled. My membership was on a card I rarely use, and it was my mistake not to check and make sure I was not being charged. I called customer service to cancel AGAIN August 2021 and asked for at least a partial refund- I explained the situation and asked them to check my membership and they would see I had not used the membership since before March 2020. They would not even refund me the membership charges for the months they were CLOSED!! I even explained that the reason I didn't have a written record is because their web site was not available (I guess it was crashing due to the volume). I was even on the phone for over an hour waiting to talk to someone. Venues that were forced to close were given compensation from the government to pay for payroll and other losses...and it appears that Six Flags just pocketed the money and is refusing to compensate their customers for loses THEY incurred when the park was closed. I tried everything and even spoke with a supervisor and since I did not have written confirmation of the cancelation- they refused to reimburse me ANYTHING. I protested with my credit card, but Six Flags denied the back charge- and I did not have the documentation to dispute the outcome. I will never go to ANY of their parks again!! BUYER BEWARE- Six Flags does not care about their members...especially their medically fragile members and families!! HORRIBLE customer service and business practices. I grew up loving to go to this six flags and couldn't wait to take my daughter. She recently had been tall enough to start riding some of the rides so I took her in July, for the first time. There were several rides closed that time but still enough open that it was fun and lines weren't too long. Apparently, Six flags is having a huge staffing shortage like many business post pandemic. This past Friday, I decided to take my daughter along with some other family members to Fright Frest. Since she is still relatively young we went right when it opened and planned to leave early as well. Right away, I noticed how busy it was...we had to park in one of the back parking lots and there was a bit of a line to get it, but not too bad. Once we got it in we headed over to Looney Tunes land, where we discovered the entire thing was closed. All that was open was the playground and one ride. There were many families with little kids either riding the same ride over and over or just letting there kids play on the playground, which btw, was infested with wasps. We walked over to the Mini Mine train, Closed. We walked to the Log Flume, closed. All this time we are waiting for the rest of our family to enter the park, they were waiting in a massive line to enter. There was a steady stream of guests entering for two and a half solid hours. I had never seen the park this busy. Once the rest of our family finally joined, we decided to head over to some adult rides, along the way they have another huge section of the park gated off, which includes the titan, 2nd log flume, and sidewinder. We get into the Texas Giant Line which didn't seem too long at the time, however, we discover they are having to test the ride for awhile. Then people finally are on the ride again, a few minutes later, they are testing it again. After about 30 minutes we notice more and more people are cutting in line. Finally there is a group of 8 teenagers cutting and we try to stop them and report it and no on ever picked up and we could not locate a security officer. After an hour and a half waiting we finally left the park altogether. We never rode the Texas Giant, but guess who did? Those 8 teenagers that cut in line. I would like to be understanding of Six Flags staffing shortage, however, they had almost every single shop and food stand open. In one tiny dip n dot stand they had 3 employees. In the future, if six flags does not have enough staff to operate their rides they should limit the amount of people allowed into the park or at least notify people that MANY of their rides will be closed, including almost every single children's ride. I have tried to contact six flags several times but they make it to get in contact with a live person. read more

Why does the trash cans smell so bad especially in the area by Mexico and Spain. I like the meal choices, they have changed, but there needs to be healthier options grilled chicken wraps. We enjoyed the shows actually this time! Miss Ruby's Cabaret- great singer!!! The lines were terribly long even though we came as soon as doors opened. We would've bought a fast pass but they are crazy expensive. It would be nice to have a couple of water rides just to cool off. The parking lot was so full and seen a lot of trash. We are platinum season members and of course we will return again. I think they need more food vendors and less gift shops. Maybe actually put a restaurant in so families can come and eat and sit down and cool off and possibly stay longer to enjoy themselves. The picnic tables outside where people go to have lunch, take out that pond or creek and put little splash pad or something. Better games !!! read more

I enjoyed this theme park. The lines weren't too bad and most rides were pretty smooth. I didn't really find any worthy food here though. That area definitely needs improvement! Pack a picnic instead and keep it in your car or RV. You will be glad. All you'll need to purchase inside is a souvenir cup for the discounted refills. It's hawt down here. read more

We just had the worst experience at 6 flags over Texas with our new passes. The customer service was terrible. My 2 teenagers had a cousin fly to town for a surprise for their Spring Break and went to six flags today with a local friend as well. Everyone had passes except the cousin. We have 4 passes for our children. The first time we used the passes in January, My oldest son took 2 children and a friend. We didn't realize the passes had to be attached to a person permanently so since I wasn't there to get more of an explanation, all the pictures were taken of whoever and the names didn't get put on the right faces. Today, when my son gave the cards to the ticket agent, he told them that even though his face was on the ticket the name wasn't right so it must not be him. Tell me how that makes sense....if the face on the card is the same as the face on the real live person, how is that not the same person? He promptly called over the security person who then confiscated the two passes and then walked them to the curb and told them they could not even purchase a ticket to come into the park at all for the day and if they tried he would arrest them. For what??? I had already left the park and was furious they were treated so rudely. Anyone could have taken a moment to explain what the problem was and further explain how the passes work. I was unable to come right back to the park so I called and was on hold for quite awhile and was then disconnected before I ever talked to someone. I then tried an online chat who suggested I have my son and his cousin go wait in the customer service line to then have me talk with someone on my son's phone. 2 hours later, they finally got to speak with someone who told me they couldn't get the passes back because once the security confiscates them, it's too bad. When I asked why the tickets were taken by the security guard, the service agent said, he didn't know since he wasn't there and that that's just the way it is and they are being real sticklers about everything since it is Spring Break.....Huh? What did my boys do? I feel like my passes were stolen from me by the park. I asked if I could speak to a manager and she said she can't speak to someone over their own phone. I then asked to speak with security but was told he could speak with me but I couldn't speak to him. Who treats people like a criminal because they got their passes mixed up? There is not picture or name on the passes to identify them once all of my children's passes are placed in the same drawer in my home. So really? You're going to treat people like this? read more

Active shooter situation showed Six Flags true colors. Even though we made Covid reservations, the park was packed all week to capacity, lines at food and rides were all over 2 hours long and this packed situation led up to what I am about to write about. March 19th around 830 pm about me and my son were eating chicken wings over by Gotham area of the park.. Around 1000 people were running yelling he is shooting people he is shooting people. And about 1 min before that we did hear pops like gun shots. So I joined everyone else and took off with them. Total Chaos went down. We all ran to the back gate and people started to jump a f***ing 9 foot high iron gate with spikes at the top. Of course people were getting hurt left and right. I said busted knees, I saw broken legs from people jumping that huge iron gate, it was like a horror show. Meanwhile people were yelling he is coming he is coming. Complete confusion and chaos. I couldn't get over the gate with my son so we continued to crawl our way out of the park because we thought an active shooter was killing people. Finally after about 20 mins of crawling through tunnels under bushes by the back fence we found a hole and got out. We ran almost to the freeway and there were hundreds of people at that spot even Six Flags workers. We then hid till we knew it was safe and went over to Circle K. Cops were assessing the damage asking all of us if we were shot or not. It was a terrible scene. I even saw a compound fracture who was waiting for a ambulance. It was really bad. After about 3 hours just waiting around we walked back to our car in the parking lot. By then we heard rumors it was just a shooting in the parking lot that sent off the chaos and not an active shooter. Six Flags did Jack S*** to tell us this info, we heard it from rumors from the few remaining people in the parking lot. I called Arizona and let family know we were ok then we crashed for the night back at the hotel. The next day I did go back to the park because I lost stuff during the chaos, I lost my drink cup and some personal belongings. Six Flags was ZERO help and even told me to calm down. They never even replaced my all you can drink cup. I told them I am leaving the state, they gave ZERO S***s. They were completely unprofessional trying to downplay what happened the night before. Workers even told me they were briefed to not talk about the situation the night before, even though that same worker said she was crying at home till almost 5am, but was told to forget it and not mention the shooting. Like I said Six Flags really showed what kind of company we are dealing with here. I thank god nobody died in that chaos, but I know some people will have to deal with those injuries the rest of their lives. Six Flags needs to be held accountable. read more

What a crappy time. We spent 2 hours just trying to get into the park. Drove around forever in the packed parking lot as they are continuously allowing more and more cars in. The park itself was WAY over capacity. Waited in lines that never moved. Gave up. The rides reloading at a snail's pace. Ended up only riding the train that circles the park after spending 3 hours inside the park. When leaving, the line to get into the park was halfway down the parking lot. It's all about trying to get the most bodies in that place as possible for higher profits and not about providing an enjoyable experience. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. My family recently moved to the Dallas area and sure enough the original Six Flags calls nearby Arlington home, I couldn't be happier! I convinced the whole family crew to come along with me on an adventure to the place that started it all. Of course it was fairly stifling in the heat dept but I definitely made the best of it. I love my family but they dragged me down a bit as I was hoping to get on every thrill ride I could possibly get on. Perhaps I need to grab one of my buddies that moved to the Dallas area next time. The park is clean, staff were friendly and the food smelled good although I didn't partake. Let me start by saying I'm a season pass holder and I like to think I get my money's worth by going enough times through out the year that it pays for itself. The season pass also gives entrance to hurricane harbor, free parking at both parks (I almost passed out when I heard $25 to park!), as well as coupons for being a friend for free, reduced tickets and savings on purchases. This season I also bought a meal plan which gives a lunch, a dinner and a snack as well as a souvenir bottle with free refills for the season. A couple of months ago we brought friends for the free days and I must say I was overwhelmed by how many people were at the park. The wait time was hours and for some rides they wouldn't allow folks to get in them because of the wait time (4-5 hours?!) Not to forget that there was a line for everything - the bathroom, to get a refill, to get food . . . Ridiculous! This trip consisted of my and my 9 year old godson as this was his first time at the park. Entry was simple and we proceeded to the rides. Unfortunately he still isn't tall enough for the rides in Gotham (the riddler, the joker, Mr. Freeze, batman) however after one look at them he wasn't too upset about it. We did manage to get him on the Texas Giant which he stated never again and then proceeded with some of the milder rides. Thankfully we were done before mid day and he was ready to go. Can't say we saw a lot of characters. Some of the rides were closed (shock wave, aquaman and the observation deck) and for as hot as it was I didn't understand why they didn't move the line under the shade versus having us standing out in the sun (oh wait, they were sitting in the shade so I don't think they cared!). I have a goal to visit every SixFlags location around the world. This was my 7th SixFlags location and really cool that it's the original! I visited with a friend who is from Arlington and hadn't been in quite a while. We went on a Sunday, didn't bother with a fast pass, and had a great time. Almost all the rides were operational, and the longest wait we had was 20 minutes. There were two times we were in line and a ride needed to be shut down for whatever reason. One we were able to come back to later in the day, and the other never reopened. I imagine since the pandemic, maintenance on rides has gone by the wayside, as well as staffing issues causing the delays and ride closures. We didn't eat or buy anything from the retail stores, but did purchase some Gatorades from the vending machines. I like that they took Apple Pay so I didn't have to mess with cash, but the $6 price tag was a bit excessive. I would definitely come back here for the rides I missed out. Had a good 20k step day and lots of fun! read more

Had to stand in multiple lines and get the run around to pick up put already purchased memberships passes. Very easily could have been mailed or down loaded on line. If you have a child that is not tall enough to ride almost all of the rides in the park it's not fun for them. So you pay full price for a 3 year old and he's not even old enough to ride anything except loony toons rides and a like 3 other rides in the whole park. Four stars for the memories of a great park. I was planning a visit in two weeks but the recent reviews tell a sad story of a park in decline with no maintenance of rides or Covid precautions. It is home to four of the best coasters in Texas, and a good collection of classic rides. Nicely laid out, and the season pass is a real bargain. But I've cancelled my trip. The negative reviews and feeble park responses tell me it's going the way of Astroworld - broke down rides, filthy grounds and very little opportunity for shade or food. As someone who comes to Six Flags consistently throughout the year, I can say the park is a pretty great place overall, if you know when to come, that is. If you come the week of Spring Break, expect pretty much every line for every ride to be filled to the brim. If you come on your average day in the middle of Summer, most of the bigger rides will have very minimal wait times. Your experience at Six Flags can very greatly depending on what time of the year you visit. As for rides, they're all pretty great, with the Titan and Giant being the obvious standouts out of all them. If you like rollercoasters, I'd recommend you ride all of them. If you've never ridden a rollercoaster, ride them anyway, I promise you will have fun. Overall, Six Flags Over Texas is a fantastic place that you should definitely visit if you ever have the time and money to do so. read more

For spring break it was not much people which it's a good thing! The lines were going quick! The Strawberry and Oreo Funnel Cake was Delicious! I highly recommend Johnny Rockets! There Double Burger was also amazing! The employees greeted us throughout the park! It was my first time here at Six Flags Over Texas Arlington! I would definitely come back! NOT HAPPY with the response to COVID-19. We traditionally go at Fright Fest for my birthday, (and all year, we ALWAYS do season passes) and were concerned with COVID-19. After reading the preceedures set in place, we felt safe enough to go. Wrong!! They are NOT limiting admittance, employee actually laughed and said, "They lettin everybody in" when we asked about capacity. They were NOT skipping cars on coasters as stated on the website. Attendees and employees without masks on, and no wiping coasters between riders.... If you choose to run business as usual, I have no problem with that. However, if you state on your website that you are taking precautions, and advertising a safe(ish) day to Six Flags, you better attempt to deliver. We have been coming to Six Flags my entire life, but I am debating that now. Extremely disappointed. read more

I'm in between 3 and 4 stars. I'm giving 4 because a lot of improvements have been made to the park lately. It's been a lot cleaner recently, and of course the rides are all phenomenal. The old Casa Magnetica attraction has been reopened, and the park seems to be trying more. Overall these past few months the park has made some huge strides towards living up to it's potential. I love spending my time here and I am typically at the park once a week if I can manage it. There is a great variety in food and rides, and as of recently entertainment has joined the list. read more

When I go to Disneyland, I enjoy the rides. I have fun with my kids on the rides. At Six Flags, I try to figure out during the entire ride how I'm going to protect my kids when the ride falls apart while we're on it. The park is just NOT well maintained, which gives me little confidence in the safety of the rides. The staff is also rude and unfriendly. We walked up to buy two bottles of water (because the sign said 2 for $7), and we were told the registers weren't ringing them up that way so we'd have to pay full price. Really? Be aware of this, too, if you're visiting with kids......they will NOT allow your kids to get back in line with you, no matter how young they are, should they have to use the restroom when you've been in line for over an hour to ride. My 6 year old needed to use the restroom so my niece (who was not riding) took her. When they came back a manager was extremely rude and hateful and told me she'd have to wait at the exit. She was SIX YEARS OLD. We had been in line for well over and hour and yes, she went potty beforehand. I loathe this park, and I've been visiting since I was a little girl. There are better ways to spend your money. read more

You have to pay MORE and buy the Platinum Flash Pass to "skip the line" now. I LOVE six flags. Don't get me wrong! Even with Texas heat, the park is always super enjoyable and I've been going to six flags since I was around six (haha) But yesterday 3 friends and I went to celebrate my good friend's birthday. But when we got to the front, one of the park staff (Her name was Maria, wearing a yellow shirt. Brown hair brown eyes) at the Great Gate said "You buying tickets?" We said yes and she replied, "It's $89.99 per person but the tickets are 50% off online". We look at each other in awe. 89.99? That's OUTRAGEOUS! We end up just buying tickets online for around 35 I believe + a 12-dollar processing fee (sure...not just a ploy to grab even more money.) However, two of my friends did not bring a card. Fortunately, there is a machine that takes your money and adds those funds into a temporary credit card you can use for your tickets and around the park. The two merge their money and add $120 worth of funds into the machine and we get a receipt that says "transaction failed, you did not lose your money, go to guest services" So we do, and we ask Maria what to do. She goes on and says "I'm so sorry there's nothing we can do... call the number on the receipt." So we do, and no response. Until we get an auto-response that tells us to enter the 13-digit ID. What ID? The only ID we got on the receipt is 16 digits. We go back up to Maria and she says "There's nothing we can do, call the number, we're getting an Out of Order sign." My friend proceeds to tell her something along the lines of "How do you expect us to buy the overpriced tickets if your machine just took $120 from us? Why do you have the machine if you can't help us with it." Then I believe she ended up finally realizing in her pea brain that we needed help from somebody qualified. She grabbed one lady that worked in guest services (I forget her name but I believe it was Aliyah. Curly brownish-black hair, brown eyes, purple shirt.) She was so kind. She understood and questioned us about what had happened. We told her what happened and what Maria had told us and she said that we don't have to worry and apologized for what she had said. She promptly called (probably the people who run the machine) and after taking some basic information (Name, email, etc), we received a card with $120 to use freely around the park. I am in no way saying to not go to Six Flags. I am just informing you to PLEASE not use the cash to card machines. It will take your money, and if a proper individual is not there to help you, you will be out of however much money you inserted into the machine. I also recommend going to Six Flags on a weekday if possible. We went during our school's summer break, and you would expect people to be there, but on a weekday, there weren't! We only had to wait around 20 minutes for Mr. Freeze but we didn't have to wait more than 5-10 minutes for anything else. Other than the beginning, we had a great experience, and all of the other park staff were very friendly! There were misting stations everywhere and they were offering free water at many food stalls as well (Especially the Cheeto popcorn stand near Catwoman's whip) There were some rides closed but not that many. Was sad that Skyscreamer and Titan were closed, but Titan is opening this weekend according to the staff! (June 18) So maybe go for father's day! Also, the gift shops are great and we got some fun novelty items for a really good price. We bought umbrellas that look like the ones that are put in drinks for only 9 dollars. Worth it. Awful. The staff was all rude and half the rides were closed. They don't even tell you that before you purchase tickets and the fast passes. The fast passes aren't worth it and we actually rode everything before we were due to check in with our QR code. The park was filthy and outdated and it's more like a carnival or fair now. We won't be back. My kids were bummed out and I wasn't happy after spending extra money on the Quick Pass garbage. read more

This place has lot of great rides selections. I find this place wide and very good for walking. My tips: Bring your own tumbler to get their free drinks Wear the most comfortable shoes. read more
