My pick up experience was outstanding. My representative (John) was very courteous and helpful, he made my pick-up experience seamless. The rental return was seamless and efficient.

They tried to fraud me for a bogus $60 "upgrade" which contradicted the prices on their own website. They were so rude and such fraudsters I ended up having a panic attack. I reserved a BMW online while on the shuttle. It was $36 a day. I arrived at their counter 20 minutes later and asked to have a SUV instead at $34 a day. They tried to charge me a bogus "$60 upgrade" fee (even tho there's only $2 price difference from their site) They were so slick about it. The staff are trained like con-men selling timeshares.

$1200 upsell for a four day rental. The rental agents get sales commissions for upsells like this.

Never rent from Sixt. The rental agents are commissioned sales people. Their commissions are based on upselling vehicle upgrades. I chose a mid sized BMW sedan. When I got to the rental counter, Renee said the vehicle I chose wasn't available and offered a different one. He didn't tell me that he was upselling me for an EXTRA $300 per day. The screen at the counter that shows the breakdown of the charges was off - he said it wasn't working. When he printed everything out, he didn't go over any of the specific charges. He put the printout in the folder without showing me. When I finally looked at it later that day there was an extra $1200 for the upgrade. He never said it was an upgrade! He lied to me. The total came to over $2400 for a four day rental. I called to complain and they gave me the runaround and said they couldn't fix it. Check out Trip Advisor reviews for Sixt, you'll see they use this bait and switch tactic all the time. Rene was a fast talker and knew he was ripping me off to make his commission. Also be careful with damage claims. They recently lost a class action lawsuit for making false damage claims, sometimes months after you returned the car. Buyer beware.

Never will I rent from this rental company ever again in my life! I rented a vehicle on September 13th, 2025. I parked my car at a Best Buy in Canada at 5:00 pm (address 700-5300 No.3 Rd, Richmond BC V6X 2X9 Canada) and when I returned to my car, I noticed the rear bumper was damaged. Somebody with a yellow car had damaged the rear bumper of the rental vehicle, they did a hit and run. There are no witnesses and I do not know who the driver was that hit my vehicle. I reported this immediately to Sixt claims representative on the phone and they re-assured me that I will not be charged and that the damages will be covered by the liability claim. The representative told me that I had no further action even when I had asked several times if I had to file a police report and they said no, that is not necessary. A few months later I received a charge for $3,075.68. I will be fighting this charge until hell freezes over. If these charges are not waived within 7 days, I will be taking the following actions: 1) I will dispute these charges and will file a class action claims lawsuit against your company Sixt Rent a Car. 2) I am prepared to inform any debt collectors that the debt is to be disputed for unfair charges that is not my fault. 3) I will proceed to file a complaint against Sixt to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and your state's Consumer Protection Department, the impact of this will severely damage your reputation as a global rental company

DO NOT BOOK FROM SIXT. I rented a car from them because they had much lower rates compared to other rentals and now I know why. When I returned the car, they faked a damage report stating that there's a "10cm+ scratch down to the primer". They then sent me a damage claim of $2090.63 and tried to scare me into paying by saying it will go to collections if not paid in 2 weeks. They only sent me 2 photos circling the area where the scratch is located. NOT A SINGLE DEEP SCRATCH TO BE FOUND. Looks more like swirl mark from bad car washing techniques. There was also a class action lawsuit recently where Sixt settled to pay 11.07 million dollars for this exact scam they've been doing for over 10 years! And even then they are still doing this shady tactic. An ex-Sixt employees also admitted on reddit that employees would receive bonuses for reporting anything that could be considered damage, and also when customers would decline all insurances because those are easy targets. STAY AWAY FROM SIXT.

If you want your life to be worse, rent a vehicle from this company. Dealing with their disgusting behavior and poor customer service literally makes me physically ill. My wife and I are being required to seek legal advice, to defend ourselves of being shaken down by this terrible company. Avoid at all costs. Trust me, if you rent from this place, after having read this review, you only have yourself to blame for what follows.

Left a pair of $300+ redwing boots in the backseat and didn't realize until I unpacked at home. Couldn't file a lost and found report because the button to submit was not working. Called them three times to have them submit a lost and found ticket, two times they just forwarded me to the Sixt lost and found line where you can't talk to a human unless you have a ticket number from the lost and found report. Third time talked to a guy who was very helpful and entered the report for me and said the sea tac location would be in contact. Long story short, never got my boots back. I know it's my fault for leaving them in the back seat but at the end of the day someone from this location stole my boots.

*SCAM* Booked my car via Amex and Sixt accidentally booked the wrong pick up location and emailed they would fix it. I never got the notification of the change and kept messaging them and never heard back until a few hours before the flight and they told me they accidentally canceled the reservation and wanted 3.5x more if I wanted to book again "last minute"! Tried calling and spent 30 minutes on hold and no one ever picked up - had to get Amex to cancel the reservation. The guy's name is "Ron Eidriane B."and his title is "Customer Service Operations" and he is 100% incompetent on every level.

Invoice that includes extra insurance I didn't need, odor fee and cleaning fee

This company has a reputation for fraudulently charging customers cleaning and damage fees and they did it to me. I rented from them 11/6-11/10. The car was not in good condition. There were scratches in various areas all around the car, and immediately upon opening the door it was evident the car had been smoked in. There was a strong marijuana odor and there were ashes that had not been fully cleaned out the front cup holder. I emailed Sixt immediately to let them know about the odor to ensure it was documented and I would not be charged. They apologized and assured me that I would not be, so imagine my surprise when I received an email today (11/15) stating that they charged me a $150 "special cleaning fee" and a $400 "odor removal" fee. They're now accusing me of smoking in the vehicle and of leaving behind ashes and tobacco wrappers. I believe they are using pictures from another renter's return cause they absolutely are not from my use of the vehicle. I do not smoke or use tobacco in any form at all. After emailing them to request they remove the charges, they offered a 50% discount on the fees as a "goodwill gesture". I declined. To be charged an odor removal fee and a special cleaning fee for a car that already had an odor and did not have tobacco debris from me is crazy. I also forgot to mention that the lady at the counter lied and told me it was mandatory that I purchase liability insurance through them, which I did but now know that I didn't need to. I have my own personal insurance policy and also have rental insurance coverage on the credit card I used. They're scammers and thieves.

A letter showing SIXT would rather spend money on a firm to come after you for their false billing, instead of take care of their fleet.

But the staff team that works the SeaTac venue was truly seamless. It was Gabe who first assisted me to confirm my paperwork and I think that took less than 10 minutes because I've been able to make the reservation by phone. I want to be really clear that I talked to a human to make the reservation and that made all the difference for me. The online version of it was inefficient and didn't allow me to ask questions and get clarification that I needed so I hope Enterprise continues to allow customers to talk to human Customer Service representatives because not all questions can be answered online. Then I was sent to the next area which involved some trepidation because it was a vast area of garage space but immediately Natalie who was part of Enterprise approached me and took my tentativeness and turned it into confidence. She walked me past several areas and made sure that I was put into a vehicle that suited my concerns. And instead of feeling limited by my selection upstairs I felt I was actually given some options in which car I could land in. That made a tremendous difference. Her welcome was genuine and she was very helpful. So between Gabe and Natalie I had a great car pick up experience. And then I'd like to mention Christian who helped me get out of my car when I returned it 24 hours later. He helped me figure out why I would not get a day return back Despite returning at 12 hours earlier, and he was friendly and very positive about his work. I think he was celebrating a work anniversary actually but I don't remember which one it was. Regardless kudos to Enterprise for having such great staff work with us to make a car pick up and car returns simple and seamless. My only issue now is that I left some keys in the car and I would love to figure out how to get a hold of them. I did email Enterprise but have not heard back. I wonder if there is a more direct route to figuring out Lost and found items?

I've used several different companies before but Enterprise generally has a pretty good rate. My last experience with Enterprise was one of the worst rental experiences I've had. At first, it was nice that they offered the choice of a car to me, and provided some full-size sedan options at no cost for an upgrade. I took a Nissan Altima. As soon as I pulled out of the registration, warnings started going off on my dashboard about low tire pressure. I checked the tire pressure and noticed it was enough to make it to my destination so I didn't pay it any mind. The destination I went to had no service stations nearby, so I e-mailed into Enterprise to ask about the issue. They said I could return the car or pull into a Firestone. It took a few days for me to get to the Firestone but once I did, the technicians took a look and found a deeply embedded nail into the tire that was slowly leaking air. I had attributed the tire pressure fluctuation to the cold weather. They filled the tire back up enough to where I would make it back to the airport. I reported the issue immediately via e-mail and to the manager on site. I'm leaving a 3-star instead of a 1-star because previous experiences have been fine, but this last one was straight up dangerous. Inspect your cars well before taking them out.

With the wait and the ride, it took us about an hour to just reach Avis where ANOTHER line is waiting for us. After another 30 mins wait, we finally reach the counter where the staff was very rude and demanded my corporate badge for the corporate leisure discount I used. When I couldn't provide it, she demanded to see my most recent paystub and studied it for a good minute when I pulled it up on my phone. This is such an odd ask and invasion of my privacy. Through many years of using corporate leisure codes, I've never had to provide my badges or paystubs. After check in, we got sent downstairs to get the car. Once again total chaos! The lines are mixed in with Budget, and they ran out of cars, so we had to grab anything that's available (not even the class of car we booked). Overall took over 2 hours for car rental. Returning was also chaotic, the return area was overrun by cars and the line waiting is out of the garage. A lot of yelling from the staffs, and there was no official check out process. We gave them the key and that was it.

Upon arrival, there was only one agent serving a long line of customers, resulting in a wait of more than 45 minutes just to reach the counter. At pickup, Hertz placed a $697 charge on my credit card. I was specifically told this was only a security deposit/authorization hold because the rental had already been paid in full. During the rental process, I expressly declined all optional products and services, including damage waivers, insurance coverage, and other add-ons. I also confirmed with the representative that the charge would only be relevant if the vehicle was returned with damage. I returned the vehicle one day early and was advised by the return agent that there would be no additional charges. I was told the rental had been prepaid, the vehicle was returned without issue, and the security deposit would be released in full and I may get additional points back as a result of the early return. A few days later, however, Hertz charged my credit card an additional $372.22. The receipt included charges for damage waiver-related products, concession recovery fees, and associated taxes, items that I had explicitly declined at pickup. I never authorized these charges and was never informed they would be added to my rental. I was told both at pickup and return that no additional charges would apply. As a result, I now have to spend time disputing the charges with my credit card company. Based on my experience, I found the rental process confusing, the communication inconsistent, and the post-rental billing practices frustrating. What should have been a simple prepaid rental redeemed with rewards points has turned into an unnecessary and time-consuming dispute.
