Welcome to G-burg, Sixty Vines - they are known for their sustainable tap system, and I love how they keep track of the number of wine bottles that they save from landfills for the current year! We had heard about their recent opening, so we decided to come here for their Tappy Hour - Their drink menu is of a great variety, including cocktails, red and white wines, and even mocktails and other NA drinks! For their noms, they had a nice selection of meats, cheeses, shared plates, salads, pizzas, pastas, and entrees. Try their Wood Grilled Shrimp (with roasted corn, tomatoes, champagne vinaigrette, and black garlic arioli), the Fried Chicken + Caviar (buttermilk-brined chicken with lemon creme fraiche), and the Burrata (with basil pesto, wood-grilled ciabatta, tomato & garlic confit, balsamic dijon vinaigrette, and sea salt). Sixty vine took over what used to be pour house in crowne. Large space, loud/lively environment. The wines are great. They let you sample as many as you like. The food has been great but last time I went I got the filet mignon and it was overcooked and dry. Their pork chop is flavored nicely and a nice thick cut. Wish their burger had lettuce and tomato ; was a bit dry. Love their thick cut truffle fries! I recommend the seafood campanelle and chicken pasta. read more

We went for brunch on Sunday. I ordered the Tuscan Eggs Benedict. My order arrived about 10 minutes after ordering. The eggs were cooked perfectly but arrived cold. The hollandaise sauce was creamy and good. The prosciutto was fresh and tasty. We also indulged in the Mimosa Bar where you get a nice bottle of Prosecco and multiple trips to the bar of fixings which included lots of berries, fruits, and juices. Made a reservation yesterday at Sixty Vines, which just opened in Downtown Crown a month ago. The place wasn't packed at all. It has a classy, upscale vibe that will do great once the word gets out. We had a great server, a tall man whose name I can't remember. He was kind and helped give great recommendations to the 4 of us. He mentioned the flight of wines but I ended up ordering a cocktail, the First Crush Martini . It was amazing. If you like sweet cocktails, you would enjoy it. Some of the ladies ordered wine which they seemed to enjoy. We ordered some shared plates: the house salad, truffle fries, and burrata. The fries were fried and cut very different than what I have ever had before. The burrata and salad were winners for us. I would definitely come back. I hope this place gets enough traction to remain open. We need more places like this in Gburg read more

My friend and I decided to dine at Sixty Vines after hearing great reviews. We dined on a Friday evening and it was packed! They have a happy hour at the bar from 3PM-6PM, with discounts on some drinks and starters. The restaurant was decorated beautifully and had a nice ambiance. After about 7:45PM, they started dimming the lights, making it feel more intimate. We were impressed by both our drinks. We ordered the Frozen Aperol Spritz and Frosé, which were perfectly sweet. Unfortunately, we were disappointed by the Fried Chicken and Caviar starter. I noticed the caviar on the chicken pieces was minimal, but wasn't sure if this was the standard. After going home, I looked at other pictures from Sixty Vines and noticed that the caviar on our starter was not even the amount of a spoonful on one piece of chicken. For $19, I expected a decent amount of caviar to complement the chicken. Without it, the chicken lacked flavor depth and saltiness. The chicken was crispy. However, the breading came off very easily. For entrees, we both ordered the Double Cabernet Burger. Was it anything special? Unfortunately, no. The caramelized onions and the sauce, made the burger extremely soggy to the point where the buns were just wet and fell off. I would've loved a textural component because without it, the burger was mushy. I enjoyed the fingerling potatoes though! The service and ambiance were things that stood out most to me about Sixty Vines. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed by the dishes we ordered and didn't feel like anything stood out. read more

A mixed bag. They were out of the trout and had only one gluten free pizza crust left when we visited on a recent weekend evening. The pan roasted chicken was flavorful but sat desolately on a bed of chickpeas that looked and tasted like they came out of a can. Who came up with that combo? The mushroom pizza would have benefited from some cheese. The waiter seemed out of it. Half of our drinks arrived within a few minutes. When I asked him about the remaining ones, he said that the bar was backed up. Why serve part of an order? He then told us that the bar somehow lost the other half of the order :0 The manager kindly comped us the drinks. The entrees did not all come out at the same time. When I asked the waiter for a printout of the receipt he gave me one for another party. I'd probably give it another chance but if the service doesn't improve I won't return after that. BTW- Someone on this thread said that they make their wines in house. I don't know where they got that idea since all the wines have the winery's name in them. read more

Lucy provided excellent, attentive service to 7 of us dining here for the first time. Dinners were a mixed bag: little guys like the pizza, two of us thought their pasta dishes were so so. Another of us was wasn't crazy about the smash burger. Twice now service has been abysmal - we have had to wait over an HOUR for our main dishes. Appetizers came out in 20 minutes. Wine glass (ordered at arrival) came 28 minutes after! One of these was during Mother's Day dinner which was a huge disappointments. Both times we spoke with the manager on duty, who promised that she would talk to the staff and take care of us but nothing has been improved and the manager forgot. For check $ in the hundreds this is absolutely not the right experience nor what had made Sixty Vines so great I really hope they get their mojo back - I'd hate to write off what has been a fav. read more

We had them on our must try list. So on the night before Valentines I call them a few minutes after they open. Paul picks up. He was honest that they were pretty packed that night but he found a table for us for 6pm. We walk in & a group of friendly young ladies greeted us almost in unison. Asking how we were. Within 2 minutes we're walking to our table. The feel of the place was warm and cozy We were greeted by who we now dub as the coolest waiter-- Jordan. A sign of a great waiter is if you want to invite them to sit with you. Jordan was patient, honest, and friendly. We are rum, tequila, & bourbon people. We were prepared to do one of those until Jordan said "we are the largest wine tap in the world." We said "oh" well you can't come to that & not do wine. Except I'm not a sophisticated wine drinker. Jordan said "oh don't you worry we do wine well." So we're telling him about our taste preferences & he's showing us all different types & then he said "we can do a flight so you can try more than one." So we get a flight that included a sweet red for me that isn't on the menu but apart of one of their signature drinks. Shiraz I think is the same. Our four wine flight had that, a Spanish red, a rosè, and a woman owned champagne that I forget the name of. The drinks came & they were gorgeous. But the taste? As I'm typing this I'm forgetting I was supposed to buy a bottle of the Shiraz. Ok now. The food. THEE FREAKING FOOD. We did a charcuterie and ordered what felt like most of the sharing plates. Burratta , Truffle fries, Fried Chicken Caviar, and Olives. Food was so good it made me cuss. The truffle fries-- ok so when they came out the were thick. My husband said "they look like Yucca" I was like wow they cut the potatoes thick that's cool. We bit them! I'll have you know some genius (who deserves to be hugged in perpetuity) said "we are going to thinly slice potatoes and stack them then fry them so it's like a crispy, soft, flavor bomb of starch and truffle. I am thinking about those damn potatoes as I type this. The burrata. I'm not sure if the kitchen team is singing to the grill but the char of the bread? The bread literally told the life story of that damn grill because it was soft, smoky, and like the perfect little kick to dance with the burrata and the tomatoes! The pièce de rèsistance--- the fried chicken caviar. I thought since it was a sharing plate they would bring out nuggets with a dash of crème fraiche and a pearl of caviar. Nope. These fine people (who all deserve riches in every lifetime) gave us 4 whole chicken thighs! Based on the volume of food and libations at our table the chances of ordering an entree became slim because I was still swimming in potatoes while popping those citrus olives like tic tacs. Now back to the chicken thighs which while it seems simple can be a tall order because there's crispy coating to tend to while not drying out the meat and not creating some weird soggy transition between crispy and moist. Well let me tell the internet something-- Sixty Vines said hold my beer (or better yet my wine glass). It was crispy. The coating had flavor. It wasn't some crispy cloud of flour with absolutely no umami. The flour wore umami earrings to dinner and it was AMAZING. How does one bite a chicken and the moisture and bounce of that chicken deliver such a performance?! The irony is when they brought the chicken out I made a face when they went to put it on the table. I said "this is gastro gratitude on my face because that chicken looks good" Jordan comes by to check on us. I'm telling him about how this food was amazing and "shout out to Paul for finding us a table this morning" Minutes later this unassuming guy walks over to check on us. We're bragging about Paul getting us a table on such short notice and how the chicken and truffle changed the game. It was Paul. So I proceed to yell in between bites some affirming expletives to Paul to pass along to whoever is standing at the stove in the kitchen. He told me someone name Jada made the chicken. I hope Jada lives a long and happy life bc Jada knows their way around a damn kitchen. Jada was in my prayers the night I left that restaurant. My husband chose the Basque Cheesecake which I was prepared to be underwhelmed by because cheesecake is my husband and I love language. Our wedding cake was a cheesecake- I have high standards. The best cheesecake known to the North American man are at Table Six in OH, Cotton Blues in MS, and a butternut cheesecake from what used to be Charley Prime. Well Sixty Vines heard me doubting them in my head and said yet again "hold my wine glass" and they brought out a cheesecake that I'm pretty sure I have to watch around my husband because he made some sounds as he ate it. The people! From the front of the house to the back-- BRAVO. To Jordan the GOAT. To Paul who quite frankly opened the door for us to dine and to Jada who clearly is a damn wizard. read more

Highlights: 1. They had Cabot clouthbound cheddar available for the board options. This is a long-time fave of mine. Sooo good! We also got prosciutto di parma and Beemster aged gouda. With this came some amazing almonds and honeycomb. It was all perfect. 2. The fried chicken and caviar. This was insanely delicious, and the portion size for the price was quite generous. 3. Seasonal dessert was a cheesecake with a special type of cherries I cannot remember the name of, but those cherries were like nothing I have ever tasted before. Amazing! Lowlights: 1. The caesar salad was not yummy. The parm is not shaved, just sprinkles. The dressing is watery. The radicchio and parsley took over the flavor. Very lackluster, especially compared to the other items we ordered. 2. The bacon wrapped dates. They were only smoky and sweet. They needed to be stuffed with goat cheese or something of that nature to offer some bitter or tang. 3. Our server was very low energy with our small non-drinking table but super lively with the party of four near us getting drinks. I used to work for tips, so I get it, and I understand why he wanted to turn over our table of two people at a four-top not buying drinks quickly, but we were there celebrating a birthday, and he was just doing the basics with very low energy. He was okay enough, but he was a really great, vibrant, and lively server to that other table, so that was kind of a let down for our celebration. The reason we will never return: 1. THE MUSIC WAS WAAAAAAY TOO LOUD!!!! We had to shout to hear each other. It was absolutely unbearable. Decided to try Sixty Vines for a date night. This location occupies the old Pour House location in Downtown Crown. The interior is enormous, but I appreciate the decor, definitely has a charm of a small estate winery. Service was quick, and very friendly, our waitress gave me some recommendations for wine pairings with the food options, they even do flights. Admittedly I am not much a wine person, but the selection seemed good, if not quite as expansive as I was hoping. We were a bit disappointed in the food however, and I hope its just because this is a new location and the kitchen is still working out the recipes. The food isn't bad, but it doesn't standout either. The rainbow trout I ordered tasted a bit over salted, and the Wood grilled Bavette Steak, while fine, felt like something I could get at an Outback Steakhouse. If they can improve the menu, I will come back here, as it is, I think this place is best for a flight of wine and some sharables. The ambiance is very nice, the staff very attentive and knowledgeable, but dinner can be had elsewhere. read more

We came here on their opening weekend and had such a blast. With 60 wines on tap, you literally can't go wrong with any of your choices. The food they serve is also delicious along with their pizzas and charcuterie boards! The service is also amazing! They make sure you're doing ok and check in on you once in a while (not excessive) to let you know they're there if you need anything I also liked the vibe of the place. The venue is very nice and spacious brand new. Reservations are a must especially on the weekends. The service is pretty great and the vibes were good. This is a trendy spot for not just wine but they had good cocktails too. The food was pretty tasty and flavorful but the prices were a little steep. Our server was very accommodating, insightful , and offered good suggestions. This is a fun new twist on a Winery but indoors which is nice given its winter. Went for the first time tonight to meet friends for Happy Hour. I have celiac and several severe food allergies- the server was very knowledgeable and patient working through options and checking with the kitchen. I had the gluten free fried chicken and cavier, which was more reminiscent of a German schnitzel with a nice fresh lemony twist and creamy sauce (as opposed to a heavier traditional Southern fried chicken). Went for brunch over the weekend and the ambiance is nice, but the food is very mid. I got the tuscan eggs Benedict. The eggs were just soft boiled eggs and not poached. The hollandaise sauce was just an apparition...super disappointed. Also got the brunch board which was fine, but clearly they only produce 4 pieces of bread for the spread. They obviously expect you to purchase additional bread for $2. Come on now, just provide sufficient bread instead of nickle-diming us. Service was fine, but the server should have mentioned that bread was $2 when she asked us if we wanted it. The highlight of the meal were the crispy fingerling potatoes though. They're essentially just potatoes that have been smashed, roasted, and salted. I can't say anything about the wine since I don't drink. read more

Had a wonderful date night here Saturday evening. By far the service is what took this to another level. Our sever, Jasmine, was phenomenal. The wine, appetizer and entree recommendations were spot on. Started with a red wine flight paired with grilled shrimp appetizer. Absolutely delicious. For meals we ordered the sausage pizza and pork chop. It was the best pork chop we have had. Definitely recommend both but especially the pork chop. Mother's Day weekend wasn't the same quality, but the manager really made it right by comping our meal and even giving us a gift card. We'll definitely be going back next month. My friend and I originally went to Ted's Bulletin for breakfast, but the line was so long that we were looking for another place to have breakfast. We ended up at Sixty Vines because we were able to get a table right away. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was very upscale, and for some reason, I felt like it would be better to come for dinner and enjoy a meal with wine rather than breakfast. There are a few things that were disappointing, one of which was that the food was served too late. Honestly, we were just going to pay for the drink and leave because food hadn't served for quite some time after we ordered. While the plating of our dishes was excellent, the taste of the food itself wasn't that great. While there were many disappointments, I understood that this restaurant was still going through a period of trial and error after only recently opening. I don't know when I'll be back in Maryland, but I hope that next time I'm in Maryland and visit Sixty Vines, it will be an improvement over what it is now. read more

Took my Mom to lunch/brunch here on Sunday and we loved it! The restaurant is so beautiful. It's very open and spacious and has cool furnishings and decor. A very long bar/private dining area/small cozy mini lounge area/a huge outdoor patio semi covered with heaters and fans. Faisal was our waiter and he was super knowledgeable on the food - we got the Wood Grilled Shrimp appetizer that comes with 5 delicious smoky grilled shrimp with a black garlic mix of corn and tomatoes and was so good. We split a Margherita Pizza that was amazing! Note the crust is super thin and delicious with a slightly smoky taste. Paul the GM stopped by our table to check on us and gave us the history of the restaurant and the year long renovation as well. After the meal we stopped by to watch the pizza guys toss around the dough at the copper pizza oven - super cool vibe here and very popular as well. read more

We arrived for happy hour, party of 12. Service was great. I feel like the food is overpriced, but I basically feel that way everywhere I go now so I dont factor it into my ratings anymore. I do want to give high praise to our Aerver, Alex. He delivered free desserts to our table because he felt like drinks arrived slowly (I think he was being too hard on himself). There was a slight mix up with who should be billed for what, but honestly, with a group of 12, and we were all sharing food, it was bound to happen. If I could give 0 stars I would. Came here for Mother's Day brunch. Reservation was for 10:45am. We were seated right away. We had our 4 and 1 year olds with us. Food took 1.45 hours to come out. Then when it did come out, the server accidentally served us sesame oil and not maple syrup so our kids started freaking out. We never got the prosciutto that we ordered (which was the easiest thing to prepare and serve). My filet was undercooked. My husband's filet was overcooked. Both of our kids plates were supposed to come with fruit. Neither ever came even though we asked for it. Long story short: it was terrible. I get it. It was busy because it was Mother's Day, but they should have anticipated that. For $200 I could have eaten at Ruth's Chris with much better service and food. read more

We visited Sixty Vines Gaithersburg last week, a few days after the grand opening. Our experience was very mixed... 1. We ate at the bar, and the service was great, the server was very patient and knowledgeable. 2. The Rigatoni was just excellent, Eggplant, cream, sauces & perfect texture, we highly recommend! 3. The Wood Grilled Bavette Steak was a total let down. We ordered median rare which its center was fine, but the edges were way to burnt like the didn't preheat the grill. Steak flavor was nothing special. The mushroom shallot confit and crispy fingerling potatoes were very good and saved the dish. Very upsetting though was the delivery of the Wood Grilled Bavette Steak was 15 mins after the Rigatoni, and then the potatoes were the only thing hot. Not sure what happened here and I guess we should have made a scene... 4. Their wine list is impressive, and they offer small glasses of 2.5oz, 5oz, and 8oz so you can experiment. I was surprised that their website states 750ml size available while the restaurant offered only Carafe's which may have been a smaller amount? This method can obfuscate their high prices. 5. The restaurant is large, modern but has cement floors and high metal ceilings and can be quite loud. We had this obtrusive Cackling Laughter patron 20 feet way from us. It was so obtrusive we wanted to move. read more

My wife and I had an excellent dinner yesterday. She had the house salad with shrimp, which was fresh and delicious. I had the campanelle, which was also delicious. Deserts were Basque cheese cake, which was good, and olive oil citrus cake, which was suggested by our server, Chris and was fantastic. (Don't let the name put you off.) Chris also suggested my wine, an albarino from Spain which delicious. My wife said her New Zealand sauvignon blanc, which she selected, was also excellent. The staff all seem to be very pleasant and knowledgeable and the decor is very pretty. Two negatives to report. First, we waited 25 minutes - and had to ask twice - to be served. Other tables were waited on quickly, so I assume that overlooking us was an exception. After the second complaint our order was taken right away and our server (not the waiter who should have been covering that table) was very attentive. We also had a visit from Paul, who I believe is the general manager. He apologized and made things right, and he stopped by two more times to make sure things stayed that way. Chris did the same. Our second concern is with the acoustics and the music. There is no sound absorption, at all, in the large room. Between the dozen of voices of diners, and the unnecessarily loud music, very heavy on the base with no recognizable melody, it was very difficult to have a conversation. A little sound deadening and a lowering of the music's volume would help a lot. That said, we will look forward to returning to try other meals and wines. But, as long as weather permits, I think we'll sit on the outside patio (which has heaters.) read more
