New AYCE hotpot + BBQ in Kent. It's 20 minutes from Sea-Tac Airport, near SR 167 & 180th and located inside the Great Wall Shopping Mall. They have free parking but it's chaotic since they share the lot with 99 Ranch and other small businesses. Get on the tablet wait list as early as possible. People were already queued up before we got there and many more people showed up as we walked out. They did a really nice job with the interior design. Booths can be tight if you're tall though. They played American pop music. I liked the option of both bbq and hot pot. The food was good but the selection at Southcenter YGF is better. The sauce bar takes up a good chunk of space. The buffet doesn't have food labels (yet?) so you have to be familiar with hot pot ingredients. Sorry hot pot beginners, go to YGF in Tukwila if you need a tutorial. This restaurant is currently for the advanced hot pot eaters. I liked having my own individual pot. I was able to customize the soup to my liking. Inspect the buffet dishware before you start piling food onto your plate. I noticed many of the 4 section compartment plates weren't washed properly or not even washed at all. Nothing is more off-putting than touching greasy plates with food residue. I ended up just using the sauce bar bowls because they looked and felt clean. They have in-house restrooms to wash up after handling buffet utensils. They should monitor the cleanliness of the bathroom too at least every hour or more; I will spare you the details. It's really hot in there so wear short sleeves or a tank top. They don't provide aprons so wear dark clothes and don't forget your hair tie or clip if you have long hair. No mouthwash or perfume in the bathrooms so have some in your car or purse. Chris was our server and he was friendly. He reminded me of my younger cousins. Very polite and helpful. I overheard Aunties from another table complimenting him. All staff members were on point and courteous too. I saw robot servers like the ones at Sumo Sushi but they weren't being used yet. It's an internationally known company already established in many countries and their Kent location is currently operating as a soft opening. They really need to monitor things like buffet cleanliness. This should be a management priority and if hygiene is important to them they should expect more customers in the future. read more

Sizzle Pot was very good. There's a nice little (seriously little) bar up front. The servers were really friendly and attentive. The hot pot I have had before was just a communal broth that everyone threw stuff into as it boiled away. This is a communal BBQ and individual soups, it seemed pricey when I heard the cost but it's all you can eat and it's delicious. Friendly server lets you know what's up and how to make it all work. I don't think any of us feel like we didn't get our $45 bucks a piece in terrific broth, excellent proteins, great veg, shrooms, and spices. There's at least one vegetarian broth on the menu, maybe two (I'm an omnivore, sorry for being vague), seven or eight different broths to choose between. My friends went for the pork bone broth, I had the spicy beef broth (not extra spicy). I might have gotten away with the really spicy broth, the normal got my sweat on, but caused no pain or numbness even. The only thing I had that didn't please me greatly was the little red sausages. All of the various fresh and marinated beef, pork, seafood, chicken, quail eggs, tofu, mushrooms and vegetables I tried were great the beef and pork especially, and we ate a lot. The lobster balls and quails eggs were delightful. It's not particularly cheap but it's well worth it so long as show up hungry and do some proper damage to the all you can eat. Just don't be a dick and leave any uncooked, or too much uneaten food behind. It's the least you can do. It's the only meal I ended up needing today. Yummy!!! read more

We were curious to try the grill and hotpot combo today. Arrived around 4:30 PM -- no wait, which was a plus. The price was about $45 per person, (Btw price increased from when they opened) which includes access to the sauce bar but does not include drinks. Unfortunately, the sauce bar was not well-maintained. At one point, I found a piece of ice cream cone in the soy sauce, and the gui ling gao had two chunks of watermelon in it -- not exactly appetizing. No staff seemed to be checking or cleaning the sauce area. As for the food itself, the meat selection was very limited and unseasoned. Quality was just okay. The grill is electric, and not ideal -- it takes a long time to cook anything and even caused small flare-ups a couple of times. Not great for grilling. The hotpot broth was actually quite good, and there was a solid selection of veggies and seafood -- probably the highlight of the meal. Surprisingly, the ice cream (AYCE) turned out to be the best part. Seriously, it might have been the only thing worth going back for. Overall verdict: Not worth it. At $45 per person, the food quality doesn't justify the price. There are better hotpot or BBQ places out there -- even if they don't offer both options together. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, it just didn't deliver. Seriously for this price we should have tried Haidilao Hot Pot instead. read more

Went after work with some friends. We all order different soups. I got the pork bone broth. It was flavorful, love it. The meat portions were a lot. Sauces station has variety of the common sauces. The dessert bar is good as well! But the sides for the hotpot... there is plenty to choose from. You walk in you'll smell the aroma of the soups. Service was great too. Very welcoming workers. I'll be back! Very happy to have a good AYCE hotpot restaurant nearby (instead of driving to Seattle or Bellevue). The wait was just over an hour for a table for 7 on a Saturday evening during the soft opening. I ordered the pork bone broth which I loved, and my table also enjoyed the house special spicy beef tallow, and mushroom broths. The hotpot meat was good and servers were attentive. It's a nice open space with comfortable seating and big tables. I really like the individual pots. My friends really enjoyed the grill addition, but some of the cuts were mostly the fat cap, so quality was hit or miss. My only real complaint is the variety of veggie options at the buffet bar. Wished they had bamboo hearts, tong ho, king oyster mushrooms, or broccoli. They also didn't have pumpkin, taro, potato, or lotus root. There was no plain tofu, just fish tofu which I don't care for. Me and my husband finally got to try the new AYCE hotpot and Korean bbq spot, saw it from a viral TikTok from Seattle foodie adventure ! First you gotta check in on a digital waitlist that's by the front door for 2 of us, took about an hour because of how popular the spot is. But honestly worth the wait, you get 90 mins in total to enjoy your meal. You can order 5-6 things in between every 5 mins, from hotpot meat, grill meats, & etc. ( since it's soft opening menu is limited ) Seating is pretty decent, clean, modern. Grills are easy to use, not smoky at all & hotpot is easy to cook / eat from as well. Everything cooks very fast and perfectly, just make sure to watch your food while you cook it so nothing gets brunt or sticks to the pots! They also refill your soup base if you run out! Then they have two wide selections for hot pot / Korean bbq that ranges from fresh mushrooms, seafood, vegetables , marinated beef, pork , sauces, desserts, fruits & more! Just wished the items were labeled on the seafood, vegetable side because we weren't sure which items were which but besides that fantastic selection to choose from, you can tell the items were fresh, great quality. So the wait was over an hour for me to get in but it's not hard to see why. The ambiance is bright and cheerful and staff are pretty helpful and quick with the orders. They have only one AYCE, however, you get BOTH KBBQ and Hot Pot so the variety is there and it's unheard of for all of the other places. I appreciated that they allowed me to operate both the central bbq grill and my personal hot pot even though I was by myself. Their cuts of meat were great and you can mix and match the KBBQ with the hot pot. Just know that you might have to cook it a bit longer cause of the thinker cuts. Want to start off by saying the service was good! I appreciate that front of house were keeping positive spirits even when being asked about the wait time frequently by customers. I can tell everyone is trying their best to provide a good service. As someone who loves eating hot pot and bbq, Liuyishou missed the mark for me. We put our names down at 5:20 and were seated at 7:50. There were quite a few things I would like to see improvements on: 1. We both ordered bone broth and it was very salty. It tasted like the powder you can get at the store to make hot pot at home but too concentrated. I added plain water and it was a bit better but the flavor was just okay. 2. We were told that there's a 5 minute wait between each order for the tablet. So this was kind of user error because we ordered broth right away and had to wait 5 minutes to send in meat order. Then another 5 when we decided we want a fountain drink. But the most frustrating part was our misunderstanding on AYCE hot pot and bbq. There was a limit on the bbq meats and we were only able to order 2 per customer for the entire meal, not per order. So at the end we were only eating hot pot meats since it's not AYCE for every cut of meat. 3. Proper utensils for food/sauce bar. I hope this is something management can improve right away. But the fruits at the bar didn't have utensils that were easy to use or any utensils at all. I waited to ask a staff member for tongs to grab the watermelon slices, but there were other customers grabbing the fruit by hand. There were short soup spoons for other fruits like peaches, honeydew, and tomatoes which aren't very easy or sanitary to use given the short handles. 4. We were asked if we needed a broth refill right after our broth was brought out. We haven't started cooking yet. But for the rest of the meal we didn't get a refill. My plate was taken away/cleared while I was at the sauce bar and there were multiple uncooked ingredients left on that plate still, which felt a bit wasteful. Overall, I don't think I'd return even if the wait was shorter. For the price point and 2.5 hour wait, I think it was an underwhelming experience for me based on the food alone. read more
