My lunch buddy and I had seen the tear down and rebuilding of this Sizzler during the course of a month or two. When you first walk into the place you get a sense of hugeness that is not apparent from the outside. A couple of complaints to get out of the way first off. The floor manager standing at the wall menu should have been attentive to my lunch buddy and I as we knew what we wanted while the group of four in front of us were still trying to decide what to have and asked if we were ready to place our orders. For those of you that have a limited amount of lunch time this could cause a hindrance in your eating experience. No cheese bread! None at the table, nothing was mentioned. Nothing. At times the squeaky wheel does get the oil or in this case the cheese bread. I'm squeaking next time. Way too many sports on the TV's. For someone like myself who just isn't into sports that much found that you are being bombarded with football games on every TV and this was a Wednesday during lunch. No one manning the BBQ grills just outside the doors. It would've been nice to watch a chef ply his trade. It's almost like watching a blacksmith..smithing(?) There's something magical watching food being cooked when you know that you don't have to do the dishes. (that's just me) Now for some praise. There were three cashiers ready and waiting to take orders. This was a big plus in my book. My lunch buddy and I had the six oz steak. Him with vegetables, me with rice and salad bar. Since I only have an hour's time for lunch I was unable to experience the full salad and taco bar to it's full capacity, but from what I saw there were a lot of different choices. I'm hoping to come here again and take advantage of just the salad and taco bar. Along with the soups that Sizzler has to offer. The steak was cooked to my liking so much so that it didn't need any sauce to cover up the blandness. This review is for the food and service. For the food I would give them a 2 or 3. But the service was so amazing, that I bumped it up to a four. My server was Mary, she is such a sweet and friendly lady. She kept coming to our table like every 5 to 10 minutes to see if we needed anything and to check if we were okay. She gave me more bread without me asking, the dinner bread was the best I have had in a while. I have had great service at other restaurants before that are not sizzler, but I think the customer service Mary provided was top notch. I would not be back for the food so much, but because of Mary I am definitely coming back again to this location and soon. This Sizzler on El Toro Rd earns my 4-star rating for their great salad bar at a good price of $8.99. We usually go with a family of 6 to 8 people, and everyone likes their own "pick-and-choose". Their salad bar is commendable for the number, variety, and quality of items. From multiple regular salad choices to three different kinds of soup, fried chicken wings, spaghetti with meatballs, several Mexican items with garnishes, fresh fruits (esp. the delicious pineapples), soft ice cream, the list seems endless. This review is for my first meal at this location. I stopped going to Sizzlers in the early 90s for reasons I don't remember, but my wife was craving a baked potato and steak, so we stood in the big line to this Sizzler on a Saturday night hoping for the best. We got it. My first shock was how nice the place looked inside. The Sizzlers I remember were dark and dingy but this one was bright and nicely decorated, reminding me of a compact version of the fancier Vegas buffet restaurants. The line, though long, moved quickly and everything seemed very efficient. Even our old school waitress was great. I got the basic steak and potato which, to my shock, was excellent. In fact the steak was decidedly more flavorful than anything I've had at the Outback Steakhouse. The baked potatoes were very well done, just how I like them, and my wife said her big shrimp were excellent. In fact she often made that face that tells me she is eating something better than ice cream. By the end of this meal I had a strange sense of satisfied pleasure mixed with confusion because my mind was telling me that I'd been missing out on an excellent steak dinner for almost 20 years. read more

"Honey, are you sure this is Sizzler," my wife repeatedly asked as we entered through the front door. Wow, what a pleasant surprise! I was expecting a dreary 70's restaurant that I remember from my youth. Instead it had a bright, warm, and modern feel. My wife and I were cheerfully greeted with a smile by cashier Mayra F. who patiently took the time to answer all our questions while ordering. Additionally, she made an outstanding wine suggestion that perfectly complemented our meal. Both dishes arrived at our table in short order and were excellently prepared and delicious. I was pleasantly surprised today by Sizzler! This restaurant was recently remodeled and was very clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially my server Mary. She was one of the best waitresses I ever had because she kept coming by to check on me and bringing me refills without being asked. Plus she was very pleasant and had a nice smile. Salad bar was decent but the Malibu chicken was the Sizzler food I remembered from years ago - A little dry and a little boring. Overall, not a bad place to go for lunch. read more

I'm a regular here...and I always ask for Deana to be my server. She knows exactly what I like --- double cocktail sauce and a wetnap and I don't even have to ask her. She's one of the main reasons I keep coming back. Now, for Sizzlers...the food is usually great. The steaks, are good when cooked....but every 1 out 3 times, they bring me my medium rare raw. You need to get better thermometers to check the temperature or cut inside and take a peak because it ruins my lunch when I have to wait for my food and then you bring back the steak burned. Take your time and get it right the first time! Prices...$15.49 for steak and 1/2 dozen shrimp is too pricey. That's like almost $19 w/ tax/tip. It used to be $12.99 for steak and a DOZEN shrimp. So now I'm only coming once every two weeks. If you lower down to $12.49, maybe you see me 3 times in two weeks. Wouldn't it make more sense to get my money 3 times instead of once? I normally don't go to Sizzler. To me, it ranks among Cocos and Carrots. But I saw that they're renovating the old Sizzler and wanted to try it. My husband and I had a dinner. The decor and booth looks great, it's very spacious. My husband had a steak and I had rice pilaff and steak. The meat was tender and I like it when they ask how if it was cook right. What I like the most was the selection and variety of the salad bar. The service was very good, they take our dirty plates right away and refilled our drinks. I was expecting getting garlic break as a side but we got a warm bread instead. Also i didn't like the cost of salad bar. It forces you to get a meal with salad on the side to make it a good value and that's too much food for me. I wish they lower the price on the salad bar, I'll go here often than Soup Exchange. read more

I been going here many many years ever since they opened. No I'm not that OLD lol, but I been going here with the family before they remodeled this sizzler a year or two ago. What can I say about this place? Well, come here if you want an all-you-can-eat buffet minus drinks (soft drinks) for a decent price. I'd say they haven't really expanded much selections here before the remodel but you get your salad, chicken wings, soups, deserts, etc.. I have to add that you could get a full entree instead of the buffet if you ordered off their menu upon entering the restaurant. Most people go here for the easy convenience of just eating the buffet. Why not? Right? Keep eating till you drop haha.. May not be the TOP best restaurants in OC, but easily a laid back buffet restaurant. Try the place if you want.. I wouldn't think a Sizzler would deserve 5 stars, but I had a shocking visit last week at this particular location that deserved them 5 stars! We decided to stop in for their salad bar, however we ended up getting entrees since the salad bar was only $4.99 to add to any entree. The salad bar was well stocked with fresh fruit and salads. Their taco bar selection was stocked with REAL freshly made guacamole which was a huge plus for me. They brought fresh warm rolls and cheese toast as well. I hadn't been to Sizzler since I was 14 so my husband and I thought we would stop by on our anniversary before heading out to go have some fun. We came in and immediately felt uncomfortable. The way this Sizzlers is set up is that you order almost like mcdonalds but then you sit down to eat. ***NEWSFLASH*** Sizzler, you cant charge sitdown prices for fast food ordering. So we asked to sit down and then order. We like to take our time. The 'waitress' 'food clerk' whatever she is... since she doesnt really do anything at all... was rude. 'No, you cant do that" we ended up looking at the wall holding our baby daughter trying to figure out what to order and then changed our minds. We left. Bad customer service. I joined the Sizzler Eclub and received an email for a free burger. It was good for a month so I saved the email to use later. Decided to go today, read the email again to confirm location, was still valid, etc. but did not print as I didnt want to use up so much of my printer ink on the large color photo, besides, it said you could present on your phone at the restaurant. When I was ordering and opened the email it said I had viewed the offer too many times, I guess it was presumed I had already presented it to redeem on one of the other times I opened to read it. The manager, Ramiro, graciously honored the coupon, but I was a bit embarrassed as I am not one to try to score food by trying to reuse coupons, so learn from my mistake, go old school and PRINT out your Sizzler phone/email coupons, unless you only open once, at time of ordering. My waitress, so sorry, didnt catch the name, was extremely pleasant and professional. I had subbed chicken in my sandwich instead of burger and it was super fresh and hot. In the past, Sizzler has been one of the most depressing places... this one is very nice now, and the service is EXCELLENT! If I want a cheap steak/potato/salad dinner near home, this is where I'll go. I've been twice in the past month, and both times haven't been disappointed. Not too many buffet options in the health-conscious and progressive Southern OC sector. Saw advertised a $9.99 steak + all you can eat shrimp, so went there for lunch. Have to admit, the bread they served was warm, soft and almost sweet. Small steak came out, and was reasonable for the price I paid. Now, the shrimp was mostly breading and not really good at all. Short on time, only managed two servings of shrimp and ended up leaving hungry. I love people-watching at buffetts...oh the gluttony! read more

The interior was very nice. They also had a nice selection of food with steak, chicken, fish, ribs, shrimp, and salad bar. The tri-tip steak we got was grilled well, but too salty. The clam chowder was OK but cheddar broccoli was strange. As others have said, the salad bar is high quality and its nice they have watermelon, pineapple and cantaloupe. The chicken wing was also too salty. In the end, I really wanted to like this restaurant to provide an alternative to Souplantation, but too many items were too salty or off for our liking. read more

My family and I went to lunch at Sizzler yesterday. (10/26/17). There are not enough words to describe how wonderful the restaurant is. The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. I love all the lighting that is in the restaurant we went about 1 PM or 1:30. I guess we beat the lunch crowd because there was no lines which was wonderful. From the cashier down to the waitress service was beyond excellent. I believe someone came around who was the manager and asked how our meal was. As well as the waitress did. I am very impressed when the manager of a restaurant comes around to see how his/ her customers are doing. I had a pulled pork sandwich with a side of fries. Pulled pork is one of my favorite foods in the entire world. Their pulled pork sandwich was absolutely delicious. And I have never had such good french fries as I did at the Sizzler. I really appreciated the fact that they let me bring in a Starbucks drink that I bought previously before coming to the restaurant. The Sizzler provided a very great and filling lunch. I wish they had a location of a sizzler in Irvine. They had one several years ago but for some reason they went out of business. I was very bummed about that sizzler is one of my favorite restaurants. My parents live in Lake Forest about 5 to 10 minutes from the sizzler. I plan on going back to that location many a times in the future. I would gladly recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family. The new Sizzler opened in Lake Forest and my wife and I have been there twice now since the reopening. The place used to be suck. We had both had bad experiences. The new place is really great! The salad bar rocks! The vibe is more east coast - pay and order before being seated. The help has been awesome with great service both visits. We will be going there more often now! I love this place. They have so many good things at the salad bar. Which of course I eat a lot of vegetables to maintain optimum health. Additionally, the soups. What can I say? Usually I have about 12 bowls of soup. They are all so good I cannot resist. Of course the place has some big tv's which had the olympics on last time, usually football or basketball are on which is great. And the staff is wonderful. The only bad thing is the music. They play music from like 1958 and the same 15 songs over and over. Oh, and a weird video plays on the screen at the front door. Sizzler at this location seems to be fancier than other locations. Great salad bar and free bread; you can have choice of cheese bread or rolls. I personally prefer the salad bar here over Souplantation, although Souplantation is cheaper. read more
