Jose was our server and was nothing short of exceptional! He was attentive, even though he was also very busy. Loved Sizzler back in the 90s/ early 2000s and thought they were gone. (Many are.) But this Lake Forest location is top notch, especially the salad bar. The meat cuts are just fair, but not bad, that seems to be happening most places. (Stay away from my red meat, Bill Gates.) Tonight we had Jose a our waiter and he was TO NOTCH FANTASTIC. Wow. I couldn't believe a 4 star sizzler?! Came here for the nostalgia factor. Not expecting much. Thought it would be sad, rundown, and empty. Imagine our surprise when the parking lot was packed! The sizzler was the place to be Saturday night! Inside it was very busy but clean and well lit. Decor was random but seemed new and well taken care of. I had a decent steak and the cheese toast is even better than I remembered. We sat right by the salad bar and I saw a woman constantly stocking and cleaning the area. They had a good variety of options that definitely hit the spot. I can't believe how much this exceeded my expectations! We will definitely be back. 4.5/5 read more

Every now and then I come here for lunch with one of my old buddies. I was last here just prior to when everything was shut down due to the pandemic. The staff here has always been very friendly and have kept the place clean for a nice enjoyable meal. The salad bar has been top notch although I'm not sure how they will be able to offer that once inside dining is allowed. Their steaks are quite a bargain for the quality. I remember first coming to Sizzler in my elementary days during the 90s'. Brain, Tim, and Christina (who are still at Sizzler Lake Forest) served and became a part of my family. I've had birthday parties, graduation dinners, and many family and friend moments that marked my life. In essence, Sizzler has been a part of my growing up. Tim even connected me with his wife who was a waitress at the time and got me my first writing job for which I am forever grateful! To this day, I can come in and say hi to people who say, "I remember you when you were a little girl." Not many restaurants give you this opportunity. To this day, I visit Sizzler weekly and always can count on great service from Jose, Gaby, Brian, Lupe, and Christina. Even the front cashiers like Maria and Valentino have always been courteous and very helpful. Scott the manager has even gone above and beyond! Besides a very clean atmosphere with prompt service, caring servers, and excellent food, this place is a staple to the community where memories are made. I cannot speak even more highly about this restaurant and the people who make it an awesome place to experience with my family. Please recognize these workers and their efforts there. I have been to almost all the remaining Sizzler locations in the OC and LA and this is by far the best one! I hesitate to shout it out only because I love this spot so much that I worry it will be super busy and I won't be able to just walk in and beat the early birds on random Sunday night that I don't feel like making dinner. If you are a salad bar aficionado, you will love this location. It has all the good salad toppings and then some! Being a child of the 80's, the nostalgia of this classic American staple is so necessary with how crazy life can get and how much things have changed. One bite of their Texas toast brings me right back to being a kid enjoying lunch with my dad who I unfortunately lost in 2000. So let's keep this place in business, put your coupons away and pay full price for the reminiscent flavors of your childhood. read more

Looks like they have been able to get more permanent staff-- so many places have had a hard time getting good support staff and keeping them. This is our family go-to Sizzler location. Its had its share of bumps in the road during and after the pandemic but they are getting back to the swing of things in a great way. Several staff have remained and are our favorite-- Gabby, Jose, Christine, Brian (he spells it different but I don't recall how). Pleasant, friendly and attentive service. Aside from price changes, which was inevitable, the food is great and they are stocking back the salad bar with new fresh items. **Note to the marketing team-- the new Honey Garlic Shrimp plate needs some attention.** Steak was awesome, but there is too much sweet glaze on these to enjoy. A pretty solid place, our server was the sweetest and always attentive to our table. You get you choose your table & it's pretty clean inside. It's also pretty peaceful and quiet where you can eat your meal without kids screaming or yelling. The food was pretty good, they cooked my steak just right to medium rare and the unlimited salad bar was clean and very yummy. They had other appetizers like tacos, nachos, pastas, soups and more. I went to sizzler a bit ago and I had a horrible experience. The ambiance was okay. The food was good, but not good enough to make up for the terrible service. They sat us down and it took a bit to get our drinks, which was alright because more people were coming in. But the whole hour we were there, our table was not cleaned up at all, and we had the salad bar, so we had quite a few plates. We were forced to put our plates on a cart where they were taking plates away just to get plates out of the way. Oh my gosh, I keep coming back to eat here, SIZZLER never disappoints! Steaks are always done to perfection AND the waiter/ waitress always stays right there till you cut the steaks! Mainly..
