Usually a fan of this place but last time I came, our server sucked and never came to check on us. The manager walked by and I asked him to get us drink refills. He just yelled another servers name and asked her to help us. The other server ended up yelling our servers name and started shaking her head when she couldn't find her. Thought everyone was just having a bad day and still gave them 4 stars. Today, our server was also mostly absent. Then two staff members sat next to us having lunch. They had a bunch of employees coming up to them to pick up their paychecks. Very distracting to have such high traffic sitting next to us, blocking our view of the tv. How on earth does this place have such a high rating? I can only assume the reviewers haven't been to a real steakhouse. The quality of the meat was sub-par, maybe they got it off the back of a truck. The buffet food was barely, and I mean barely edible. I always order rib-eye, I think it's the most flavorful cut and this was just awful. The cut was thin, the meat was tough and bland. My husband's steak was no better. The Mexican part of the salad bar was dried out and bland, the Italian section was bland. The actual salad part of the salad bar wasn't bad or else this place wouldn't even deserve one star. I do NOT understand this high rating, I can only assume the people that love this place have no taste buds, aren't allowed to eat food with flavor or have never been to a decent, not even good but a decent restaurant. My family and I came to this location for the very first time today. My children ordered burgers, my husband the pulled pork, and I the salad bar. Their food arrived and honestly, it wasnt anything impressive. The pulled pork sandwich was dry, as well as the bread. One of my sons ordered a burger with bacon, and that was missing. Having chosen the salad bar, I was very disappointed with the menu items. Dry taco meat and dry carnitas. Oily chips and out of the can soups were also part of the choices. We spent $100 for this? As if that weren't enough to discourage us from a future visit, our waitress never came and offered me a refill. She did in fact, keep removing plates of food, which we weren't even finished eating. I was in the middle of eating a baked potato, she came to check on how we were doing, I turned to answer one of my children, and bam, she took my potato. I had it right in front of me, with fork in hand. She came back around again, my son was eating some strawberries and whip cream, mid dip, she took his plate too. I was stunned and upset. I went back to the salad bar and got more food, this time ready to smack her hand away if necessary, but she never came back. She made me feel like she was trying to get rid of us. The ladies whom take your order when you first walk in are always very nice, informed and beautiful. The salad bar is always well kept and stocked. The food is always cooked very well. Great service. I was craving the salad bar. It's a little pricey for lunch. $10.99 for the buffet. The food was good but not what I remembered. The salad bar was clean. The food is pretty standard like any other sizzlers but this place seemed more clean and spacious. I really enjoyed the nacho cheese and tacos. I normally like Sizzler, but today it was terrible! I went with my two daughters because they like Sizzler as well and I wanted to take them some place fun for them because they've been really good this past week. They ordered the Steak Bites Kids meal and it was fine. I ordered steak and unlimited shrimp. We were checked on by our waitress almost immediately after the food came, and that was the end of it, no more checking up. First off, I understand it's Sizzler, I'm not expecting to have the meal of a lifetime here. It's usually pretty good and I don't leave over or underwhelmed. My steak was ordered medium, came out tagged medium, but was EXTRA well done and bone dry. I would have let my waitress know had she come back. Unlimited shrimp was tasty, but would be limited to just the one serving, which was a bummer, because the steak was inedible, or at the very least, very unappetizing. Drinks ran dry, no offer of refills, because my waitress never returned. After sitting for quite some time, all drinks at the table having been empty for a WHILE, I finally flagged down the manager who seemed to me, quite dismissive with my concerns. He did offer to redo the steak or get another serving of shrimp, but by the time I have to complain to the manager, I really don't want these people handling food that I'm going to consume from that point on. I've seen the movie 'Waiting.' An apology for the service would have been fine and at least a step in the right direction, but he seemed as if I was bothering him. I just ordered drink refills because my girls had been complaining that they were thirsty, although I was hesitant with that as well. I don't have super high, "my service must be perfect" expectations like I see in some yelp reviews. I'm not under any delusions that I'm a food critic or restaurant consultant that nit picks every little detail of the service with Gordon Ramsey level standards of what complaining should look like. I'm generally very easy to please when it comes to dining out. We dine out usually once or twice a week and this was the first time in the past 8+ years that I didn't leave a tip at a restaurant In fact it's so rare for me to do that, I can say that the last time it happened was in 2010 at Applebees in Farmington, NM. A customer can leave a restaurant disappointed or unsatisfied, maybe a little hungry still or overfull, but should never leave angry. First time visiting this Sizzler. It was one of the best we ever ate at. The service was very fast. The staff was all very friendly and efficient. Our server, Danielle was great with quick friendly service with a smile. The food was very good and better than other Sizzlers we have been at. Raul who is one of the bus boys was also observed working so hard and fast cleaning the tables on top and under. Staff work as a team and management appears so supportive of staff. The Murrieta location is spot on - Clean with plenty of friendly staff (except the young lady that sat us at the table). I ordered the shrimp 3 ways, kids ordered stakes and all were very happy with their meals (had to take the steak back for more well done as originally requested b cause they were both still pink on the inside ) but we all felt that what my wife ordered (all you can salad bar) made the best choice. Next time I will be sure to stick to the salad bar because there are plenty of options to chose from and I thought that it looked and tasted better than my shrimp 3 ways meal. Overall our server was attentive and came back several times for refills and to ask if everything was okay. If it was for food alone this review would be five stars! We have been here several times and had a good experience but lately service has declined! The bad: Our waitress, Lauren, said two words to us, and then we never saw her again. She had no problem talking to one table that appeared to be regulars. We had to track her down to get refills, straws and to clear plates. The bathrooms were horrible and were not cleaned! Very poor and the toilet paper dispenser was coming off the wall! No big deal right, until you look and you can see the neighbor looking back at you! Also try turning up the A/C in the bathroom, it must have been 85! The good: Food was great!
