Unfortunately have to update this review and drop down to a 2 star. My wife and I love CPK. Especially their BBQ salads. I will say this is the only location where the bread they serve is soft. We got two apps to try out which were the spinach and artichoke dip along with trying them buffalo chicken bites for the first time. Our entrées were the BBQ chicken salad (we end up taking most of it home). I asked to get mine without cilantro and dressing on the side. My wife's came as we both got avocado on it. My salad came with cilantro, all mixed in and with a giant avocado peel. The waitress did take 10% off due to the cilantro without me asking I think she just saw me picking it out. There was no dressing on the side. I did have to ask for it, which isn't a big deal, but the restaurant was pretty empty and our service was absolutely terrible. The salads themselves honestly just didn't taste that fresh. The chicken kind of tasted a little old. I'll add that the appetizers were semi decent. I wasn't aware that the buffalo chicken bites were also dark meat but that's good to know. The artichoke dip came out not hot. It was barely warm and I know sometimes restaurants will serve it warm, but it was just barely warm. I figured since we don't always have that bad of an experience at CPK maybe it was just a one time thing. But then... When my wife went to go eat her salad the next day for lunch as we brought it home for leftovers... she took a bite of of her salad and went to chew like anybody else would, and there was something so incredibly hard in the salad it chipped part of her tooth. We still have no idea what it is, but it's so extremely hard. It feels like a rock. Extremely disappointed in this visit and I honestly probably won't be back to this location. read more

California Pizza Kitchen may charge luxury prices for a pizza the size of a paper plate, but WOW!!! Those flavors know how to work overtime. My kids surprised me with a Thai Chicken and Chipotle Chicken pizzas and suddenly I remembered why this place has me emotionally confused every time. The Thai Chicken Pizza was basically a spring roll that went to college and became sophisticated. Peanut sauce, chicken, bean sprouts, carrots, cilantro... ridiculously fresh and crazy delicious!!! Easily my fave flavor there. The Chipotle Chicken pizza also came in swinging with smoky chipotle sauce, chicken, poblano peppers, cilantro salsa, and southwestern-style pico to garnish it, like it was auditioning for Food Network. CPK doesn't do boring "here's your pepperoni, have a nice day" pizza. Their pies have passport stamps and personality, and honestly that's what makes them stand out so much!! read more

Disappointing experience overall. John was our server and rarely checked in on us--it was very obvious he didn't want to be at work. The restaurant wasn't packed, yet the food still took a long time to come out. This location is also noticeably much darker than other California Pizza Kitchen locations I've visited, which added to the off vibe. When the food finally arrived, it was cold. I didn't say anything because I was already starving and we had movie tickets, and I didn't want to wait even longer for a replacement. I don't give it this location 5 stars because there have been issues here and there with the wait time, issues with the food (returned) and new servers who have made mistakes on our orders. We arrived to CPK at 6:20pm. Apparently we were sat in the wrong section because we sat in our seats for 40 minutes without being greeted by our server. Then, our server DJ comes to the table and we order 2 drinks, water and our food. 20 minutes later, we still have no drinks or bread and oil. The manager at this time finally comes to check on us and asked what our drink order was. It took her 10 minutes to get our drinks and bread and we had to ask for water 3 separate times. As soon as the bread was brought to us so were our main courses. All employees on shift were watching the world cup on the TVs and every other table seemed to be getting service. Good food and always consistent our server Alex was awesome, friendly, and attentive. We were here on a Saturday afternoon and Alex was busy so he never really pre bussed our table so that was the only negative thing although he has a lot of tables and was running around like crazy. His team could have helped out, I never seen a busser or Manager walking the floor to help him. All our food was great, that white corn guacamole was super fresh and had great flavors. The restaurant was mildly busy but it took almost 15 min for someone to even notice there were 3 parties waiting to be seated. We acquired a $25 gift card, which we had actually been sitting on for about 3 years. I reluctantly agreed to go... After being seated we ordered a couple of beers, after we were told it was happy hour and the tap beers were half price (thanks for letting us know). Upon receiving our beers nearly 15 minutes later (there were only four other tables being waited on, by the two waitresses, if you get my drift = unacceptable), we ordered our food: two wedge salads and a burnt ends pizza (a special they were running). The salads arrived first, about another 15 minutes later. Although the components were fresh the salad was put together haphazardly, thus needing to be mixed with the fixings more than what would be a standard need to do. We both enjoyed the salads. The pizza finally arrived and I had an empty beer glass. I was asked if I wanted another and I stated I did. The pizza was so-so for me, but the wife liked it. I like red pepper flakes, but was never offered any and I waited for the waitress to return so I could ask (she meandered on the opposite side of the restaurant yapping with other employees or just zoning out). The pizza was at room temperature, not warm - let alone hot. I also found absolutely nothing special about it, flavor-wise, even though the wife said she enjoyed hers. We both agreed they were skimpy on the burnt ends, which I personally found a little dry. I had to sip my wife's beer (remember I was waiting for that second one) to wet the whistle (no waters had been provided). About 25 minutes later, YES 25 MINUTES LATER, the waitress returns and tells me "the machine" (aka beer tap) for the beer I ordered was "broken" and asked if I wanted a different beer. We were done by this time and I just requested the bill. I was pondering whether to give this a single star, but elected to give it two (could've been better). No thanks, I will NOT be going back. Need to improve EVERYTHING. We sat in Elizabeth's section. 5:45pm It took her 15 minutes to get waters to us. 30 minutes to get 2 adult drinks. She did not return to check on us, we had to ask the hostess to help us get 2 sprites for the kids. Other servers brought us more bread, and Elizabeth never returned. 3 other tables who arrived AFTER us received their meals way before us & finished. When Elizabeth checked on us (7:15) she brought the olive oils for the bread that was already finished and left. By 7:30 we got up to leave still did NOT ever get our order. We left cash on the table to pay for the adult drinks, and Elizabeth came running to us as if we were dashing yelling at us to pay for the two drinks we ordered. No apologies for waiting for the food that never arrived. Nothing. She is lousy and you should transfer her to clean the restrooms only. Her customer service skills do not exist. No apologies, she didn't even try smooth things over. Shout out to Rey the hostess for trying to help. Rey and another server were the only two who did try to remedy the situation. Another note is we have a diabetic with us and we dosed for the dinner thinking we were going to be ok (because to need to wait a few minutes before eating) and that added stress to the situation that Elizabeth ignored. Let me start by saying that the review I'm about to give has nothing to do with the people who work here. They were friendly and kind and were just great. Now the actually establishment, as soon as you walk in you get hit with the stench of dirty carpet. I understand where and tear but y'all gotta rip this carpet out. It is so nasty. The food was good. I have no complaints about the food, but the actual establishment turns your stomach. My sons and I visited the Temecula location for happy hour. We placed an order for appetizers and a food order. We never received the appetizers, 40 minutes later and no food. I also observed the manager touch his glasses and face and then handle food. Our server did not check in the entire time after bringing us our drinks. We finally decided to leave and all of a sudden our food was ready. I paid for the drinks, even though one of the drinks should have been discounted for happy hour server charged me full price. We were one of 2 tables and the other group was about 14 people. We waited a very long time while the big group was waited on promptly and just kept getting all the waiters and managers attention. We had a simple appetizer and one salad, that's all. Took over 40 minutes to get the salad and we had told them that the appetizer was my entree. I was done before the salad was even served. The staff is super nice. It's always dim is there so that's good because everyone looks good in dim lighting. The food menu is super small compared to other places post covid. They definitely made thier menu smaller and there are not a lot of vegetarian options. However, the options available are ok. The king pai spaghetti is fire. Totally recommend. I hate to have to do this because my great experience with John. They cut back his hours and he doesn't know why. He has asked Dave the manager and not been given a clear answer. I only sit in his area once a week and now he's not been there. I actually have to call first before going to see if he's there. I was so embarrassed when I brought a friend and Angel was my server. She was clueless and a horrible experience was had. The whole dining experience was a mess. She couldn't get anything right. I'm not sure why great servers are punished for who knows what or why. I won't be going anymore if he isn't there. I had some other bad experiences in the past with other servers. Not sure why he isn't rewarded by keeping his hours. It is my 1 day a week at work lunch where I can just enjoy. I usually dine alone and enjoy. Sometimes I bring 1 of my 4 kids after his weekly dr appointment and John always remembers both of our orders. I plan on calling a corporate office later to ask some questions. So many restaurants are lacking and this is one I visit once a week and sometimes twice a week. I will not come if he's not working. If he quits because of being mistreated I won't come again ever again. My food is never prepared correctly when I have most other servers there.
