This is one of the most underrated restaurants of all time. No, I'm not old. 37 to be exact. They have one of the best salad bars around. All their red meats are awesome. OK, I admit it. My wife and I love this place. We both travel on business all over the world and can eat in fancy restaurants as we wish. And we do. But when home if we want a Saturday lunch date, followed by a nap, this is the go to place. The food is surprisingly good. People always dis chain places but we all eat at them because 1) we know what we are getting; 2) the food is acceptable; and, 3) reasonably priced. But the fact is we eat at chains. I really like this link in this chain so I want to give it a serious review. Work with me on this. Remember the nap comment above? We usually go to get pleasantly sated and for me that means ordering one of the bigger steaks. I take most of it home because frankly I like cold left over steak better. That means get the all you can eat salad bar. It has a wide selection and is fresh. The problem with a lot of chains is the salad bar items all taste the same. Not here. The service is great. The gentleman who was our server was literally the most upbeat, friendly (without being a pain) server we have ever experienced anywhere. This was not a fluke as we have had him before. The staff is all good. You are not going to brag to your friends you went to Sizzler on a weekend date but if you like steak or chicken, and want to pleasantly stuff your face on fixings, it doesn't get much better. I think this is my first sizzler experience ever...GROSS. I ordered the chicken with melted cheese on cheese bread and the sautéed spinach. Sandwich was greasy as all heck and the sautéed spinach had what tasted like salad dressing on it. Just a total flop. I am so sorry I ate there while there was a good looking noodle house in the same mini mall. On a positive note my waitress was beautiful. Get out of Sizzler girl. Salad was really good. Well stocked and our waitress was very nice. We had the shrimp for a main course and I was a bit surprised how good it was all in all. The lady at the front wasn't that great. She was supposedly training a new hire. Felt sorry for the new hire. The price is good. Would recommend eating there. read more

WOW! What a great sirloin steak. My wife and I got the Senior Sallad Combos. Incredible deal. 6 oz sirloin, for me, plus full salad bar for $16.99, with a beverage. But the best part was the incredible steak. Juicy and tender. It really was amazing. And of course they do have the best salad bar around. And the restaurant is so much nicer than you would ever think of a Sizzler, if you grew up going to Sizzler's in the old day. Service was great. 10 years ago, after several unchewable steaks, my family quit the Sizzler. Since then it's been remodeled, but retains much of the old menu. Last week I was emailed a coupon for a free Chicken Malibu dinner, something I hadn't tried. So I went alone at lunchtime, ordered the free Malibu, and paid for a side of sautéed mushrooms. Both cashier and waiter were personable, the place looked great, but soon the food arrived. Each mushroom had been burned crispy black on one side, so I cut the char off and ate what I could. The chicken was small and thin, crispy with ham and cheese on top, but a cold mushy underside coating. Then I tried a bite of mashed potatoes. Whoops. The hard ball of butter rolled off them onto my plate and my fork went CRUNCH. Crunch? Icicle crystals crunching? Yep, the potatoes weren't even thawed. How did the kitchen staff and waiter miss that one? While waiting for the waiter to return, I cut the meat to see if the middle was warm, which it was. But the thawing potatoes had made a cold water puddle, seeping under it. When the waiter arrived, I showed him the situation. He took the potatoes, gravy and meat to the kitchen, and returned with hot potatoes, but no fresh chicken, just the cold mushy pieces. I know it was free, but why do such a bad job on what was supposed to be a good promotion? On my way out, I spoke to the manager about the burned and frozen meal. He said he would look into it, and that was that. It was too bad, because it's in my neighborhood, and after the beautiful remodel, I'd really wanted to like the place. read more

Arrived here and took 10 minutes to take our order cashier didn't even know how to work the computer. Was taken to our seat and then took another 15 minutes for the server to come and bring our water. Once water arrived then it took another 10 minutes just to get our order out once our order came out I literally only had 10 fries half of them were soaked in steak sauce steak. I will definitely not be coming here ever again lousy service would not recommend , it is over priced. Avoid at all cost, lousy service lousy food read more

I cannot rate the food this time as I waited almost 30 minutes for my order.I told our waiter at 20 minutes with no food then after 25 minutes he came back to say my order will be right up and did I want to talk to the manager? I said yes and almost 5 minutes later the manager Adam appeared with my food order.I complained about the wait and he doused me with a whole lot of attitude .We're busy and this is an high end restaurant and if you want fast service you can go to Arbys.Soooo,I got a credit back to my card and off we went.I did find another place to spend my money however. We love the Sizzler,but will not be going back as long as this manager is still there which I suspect won't be for long. PS: Leo was NOT there or this would not have happened of that I am 100% certain. He would be a great manager,but I'm sure he couldn't afford the pay cut. My family patronizes the Sizzler once or twice a month and when visitors come to town. Upon arriving to this sizzler we were greeted by Mr. Cordova. He was very welcoming and escorted us to a very nice spot in sizzler. Jackie Cruz was our server. She was so kind and took extra good care of us. The salad bar was extra clean and the produce was fresh and very well presented. We loved all the extras that sizzler doesn't usually have. Jackie brought us baked potatoes and cheese toast. Best cheese toast I've ever had at sizzler. Mr Cordova also came by our table to insure everything was tasting good. And it was. This was our second time visiting. We went to celebrate my grandpas birthday. Most the of the salad bar items that were supposed to be hot were cold. My grandpas steak was so tough he couldn't cut or chew it. My French fries were cold and the ice cream was almost pure liquid. It shouldn't be like this at 5:30pm. First time to this Sizzler and was really Impressed with everything. The wife and I came in on a weekend the last time we ate at sizzler was the one in Escondido which gets 0 stars. Happy to see Oceanside Sizzler is doing everything right to attract business and keep it. From the eye catching remodel work to the big screen tv's, lighting, art, pictures, vases, flowers ext... they really put a lot into it. Now to the food the salad bar was delicious well stocked and one of the best I've seen. For Lunch we had steak and lobster and steak and colossal shrimp good choice very tasty another plus was the sweet potato, rice and bread. Everything we tried was good no complaints, last but not least was the attentive service the waitress kept checking and taking care of us. Cant wait till we go back. Very Good job Sizzler read more

While this place won't win culinary awards, I was pleasantly surprised. The food is decent and it's a good value. Beats Souplantation hands down. The 'endless salad bar' has a lot more than salad and it's better quality than I expected. The onion rings on the salad bar were excellent! This Sizzler has great service at lunch time. It is a good deal for just the salad bar with all the choices, cold or hot. The salad bar is fresh and inviting with fruits, vegetables and updated dressing offerings. The fried chicken is crispy. The burrito/taco fillings are good, one can season to taste. The one offering which lacks the quality of the other hot bar items are the baked desserts which are usually dried out. The music at lunch time is fun and upbeat. read more

The food is good, but looks like there is a lack of waiters or they just communicate well, every time we come here we sit on our table and have to wait about 15 minutes before somebody even comes to us. Sometimes we even have to go and find a waiter ourselves as they don't seem to have control of who is coming in. Really really bad service. read more

Wow, what a birthday dinner! We walk in, order my food get seated promptly, awesome, I can't even get settled in before Matt, our server shows up to greet us. Extremely polite, and level headed, even at the end of the night. I could not believe how fast the food arrived, hot ready, and not to mention PERFECT. (The manager actually informed me that the cook who prepared our food was in that night for his first day on the job) -amazing! Matt would not let my drink empty, no matter how hard I tried. (I didn't really try, but still) this guy was flying around the restaurant helping his tables, heck even helping other tables that weren't his. (Yes this teamwork I Witnessed was that of a well oiled machine) not to falaccinaucinhillipificate Texas Roadhouse (that's a real word by the way) but, I've never had any experience there as I did in this sit down, neat, fast paced steakhouse. The manager who my wife and I wanted to speak with for all good things, was also polite, showed a true care for his job, staff, store, and reputation. I cannot explain the experience on this app, all I can say is I urge you to give it a shot. And I dare anyone to find a place more worth it than this. The only ball park steakhouse I can compare this to, and I do this sparingly, is the Beef House in Covington, IN, but for a fraction of the price. So if you are looking to have a fantastic meal, while still being frugal, Give SIZZLER a shot. And if you don't like the place, try McDonald's. read more

Came here for a quick dinner because the other steakhouse was jam packed. So we start to order and the price for two was crazy!!! For the amount of food you get for the price it's a huge rip off. We don't mind spending money but dang! The food overall was okay just wish the cooked the steak to my liking it was too well done. The waitress was nice though and checked in frequently. read more

This is a very small Sizzler compared to what we are used to. They didn't even have pizza for the kids. Thank God we went at 4pm, when we walked out it was super packed. Other than that it was ok. They sang Happy Birthday to our kids which was what we went for. read more

I ate at the Sizzler yesterday evening. I know the restaurant well and have eaten there many times in the past. The food is excellent, the ambience perfect for my needs and staff and management always welcoming. When I don't eat there often enough the servers tell me how much they missed me and inquire about my health and the health of my family. I want to give special kudos to Melissa for taking extra good care of me whether or not she's on duty as a server or doing other work in the area. She brightened my evening yesterday as she always does. I adore the soups and usually have one of the steaks with a yam and the full salad bar. The senior chopped steak disappeared before my visit and I haven't learned why, but there are many other choices for me to enjoy. My younger son will be visiting for a few days on Christmas Eve. He's a vegan and loves the Sizzler and I know he'll be happy if I take him there. read more

It's the same old sizzler... the flavor of the steak is about the only thing they have going for them. It's over priced for what it is. I would recommend outback for a meal priced about the same with a higher quailty. We did find a dirty plate in the stack of dishes we pulled from and the ice cream machine was broken. read more
