Excellent Service and Excellent Food. I drove 8 & 1/2 hours on 5/31/18 and Sizzler was my dinner with my Son. My Mom use to take me to Sizzler in Downey Ca when I was growing up & when I was a young adult. I couldn't wait for my baked potato so I could load it with butter like I did when I was younger. And I wasn't disappointed. Yum Yum. The waitress gave us your wonderful hot out of the oven bread. I had forgotten about your wonderful bread. Yum Yum. Our salads were perfectly fresh and delicious. Went here for a family dinner when we came to town. Haven't been to a sizzler in ages and ages. Have to say I had higher expectations. Hibachi chicken is covered in BBQ sauce. Really thought it would have been teriyaki. Burgundy beef tips, well mushrooms tasted off and meat was tough and there was no burgundy flavor at all. I ordered the fish and chips and the shrimp, shrimp, shrimp with banana pudding. First, Long John Silver's fish fillets are bigger than what I got. $8.99 is a ridiculous price. The shrimp was a little better. My big complaint is that the grilled shrimp tasted like steak. That's not a bad thing for me, but, what about the person who go is allergic to shellfish? So to start off I my girlfriend and I do Door Dash after work for extra income. We arrived at this Sizzler Jan 4th at around 4:30pm-4:40pm'ish to pick up an order. She went inside to get it, and overheard some interesting banter among the employees. Just the regular chitchat of, "Wishing they were on unemployment to reap the benefits, suggesting they say they have COVID to get on said unemployment. And having their cook spit in everyone's water to spread some COVID." You know, idle talk at work. Apparently there was someone even eating in there who may or may not have heard them. We were honestly tempted to even tell the person that we were delivering to that they may want to think twice about eating that food. I work with food, I'm extremely anal over prep and cleanliness, for employees to be openly talking about spitting in customers water and intentionally trying to get sick is a bit unacceptable. Suffice to say we're never, ever eating there again, and both telling absolutely every single person they should avoid it at all costs as well. Truly disgusting, hopefully whoever it is that's working there doesn't spit in some poor customers water and contract something nasty. We ate at Sizzler in Roseburg yesterday after they reopened for dine in service. There were only a few people there and the service was terrible!!! We both had salad, they make it now, and we both were sick when we got home. We are not sure if it was something in the salad or the dressing or a handling issue. The other part of this horrible experience was that now that the buffet is shut down, we paid $23.00 for 2 small salads and 2 drinks! Heading home from Canby, we decided to have a real lunch and maybe have just a snack for dinner since we knew we were heading towards some bad weather. None of us was too keen on trying something new, and I couldn't stomach another Applebee's trip, so Sizzler, here we came. They have a consistent salad bar with greasy and tasty fried chicken wings along with various other offerings. Husband had a chicken sandwich and daughter had a steak lunch with some fried shrimp that I shared. Her steak was perfectly cooked, the husband liked his sandwich and I got more than my fill of salad bar (and their cheese bread). Okay okay... it's Sizzler's. The chain has been around for what, a million years? I've been around for a little over 50 and I can say that there has been a Sizzler's in every town I've ever lived in. I've pretty much ignored them throughout the '70's and '90's. The '80's were another story . . . ; ) We've been coming to this Sizzler's for the past 5 years on and off and we can say that in the last 2 months, we've chosen Sizzlers several times. The prices are fair and the food very tasty. I've been especially fond of the Hibachi Grilled chicken (201 calories !) and a side of steamed vegetables. It's healthy and filling. I've also tried the shrimp skewers several times. Everything I've ordered has arrived quickly and consistent. Mr. Picky has had the steak and other red meat items on the menu which he has had to admit he enjoyed. Consistent is the key word here. No surprises, very friendly wait staff and options for making healthy choices when ordering. I've eaten 3 times at Sweet Tomatoes and each time arrived home sick from their salad bar. I got to thinking that has NEVER happened from dinning at Sizzler's and enjoying my salad favorites there. In 50+ years I've learned to appreciate time tested companies which have not fallen by the side of the road. And yah, it's Sizzler's. No complaints from a VERY Picky family ! read more

At the Sizzler its all about the "Endless Salad Bar". It is indeed a big all-you-can-eat salad bar, with some more substantial food, like chicken wings, spaghetti and meatballs, a taco bar and dessert bar, added in. I always opt for this selection, so I can't speak to the other menu items. The wait staff is always efficient and polite; even though it's semi-self-service, they do bring you extra plates, toast, and refill your drinks. The price is cheap; for two people having the salad bar and soda, plan to spend just a bit over $20.00. The food is good...not outstanding...for this price. Today I came to sizzler for the first time at the roseburg location. I asked the server for a new salad bar plate. He wouldn't bring me one? I clearly asked him Byron again for a plate. He said I'm sorry I can't bring u one. I said why? Byron the worst server ever said she My Wife took a bite. I said so? He said you can't do that. I said let me talk to the manager. She came out and said it's policy. I said if the salad bar was feeding her I get that, but taking a bite is normal. Everyone always shares. She got a huge meal so really. I used to love Sizzler. Starting with the tweeker cashier that was doing really strange little dances trying to get out order in (and she failed), on to the place full of dirty tables. This was 4:30 in the afternoon or Easter. Salad bar wings needed some sort of wing hot sauce, they were kinda bland. They no longer have the sunflower seeds (something I looked forward to at Sizzler). No kidney beans or garbanzos (since when are soy beans a salad bar item?) and not much interesting any more. STEAK was cooked fine, but tough as shoe leather and had NO SEASONING. POTATO was cooked well enough, but the skin was full of dirt and huge scars & bruises, not edible for me, I am a potato skin guy. CLAM CHOWDER was all out when we arrived, but then they brought some out with crispy under-cooked potatoes. SERVICE was OK, but they were severely overworked or understaffed. read more

First of all we are from TX, while on our way to another restaurant we saw this place and took a chance trying a place we never been to before, and everything was GOOD. The lady who took our order was very helpful since we told her it was our first time. Salad was good a variety of choices, the beef tips with wine sauce was tasty, grilled herb chicken was juicy and well seasoned but the best dish on the table was the 14oz Ribeye, was tender, juicy, flavorful and everyone at the table was wowed. I have been here a few times and it has to be the best buffet in town and second only to Rodeo Steakhouse when it comes to steaks. Consistent salad bar and steaks. Staff is friendly. I had a group of 24 Lunch diners. Went in a week ahead to make arrangements and called yesterday to finalize the number. Arrived today and they greeted me and had everything ready for us. They took outstanding care of all of us. The salad bar was very fresh and clean. Those who ordered entrees liked them very much and there wasn't a single complaint. I'm glad they are open finally. Everything was the same as before the pandemic except the salad bar. You fill out a paper listing what you want on your salad and give it to the server, she brings it to you. The quality is the same as before, but there are now limits, We were served TWO pieces only of chicken wings per person, requests for more were not filled, one cup of soup and none of the other things that were so good on the salad bar. No fresh fruit, taco fixings, etc. One small cup of soft serve ice cream. The green salads were large, but I don't go there to eat salad. OK, so my wife and I go to Sizzler for lunch. We have had some iffy experiences with this location before, but figure what the heck. We order our food, and drinks, and as I start to walk towards the tables with the drinks, I see black stuff floating my my Mt Dew. YUCK! So we have the girl at the counter redo my drink. Then we sit down, and wait for the waitress to come buy and offer us the cheesy bread, she does, all is well. Except when the cheesy bread arrives, it is only toasted on one side, and that side has strange dark brown spots on it, like it was cooked on a dirty grill surface. I work in a kitchen, and I know what stuff cooked on a dirty grill looks like. While waiting for the food, I open my silverware pack, and what do I find, but greasy leftover food on the spoon. Good thing I didn't need it for what I ordered. So the waitress brings us the main food, and that is the last we see of her at our table. She does make trips to the other 2 occupied tables in the location, to see how they are doing, but my wife and I (in jeans and tee shirts) get ignored. Loo and behold, no tip! A few hours later, and our bellies start to feel very queazy, not sick just not right. We will not be back to this location again! read more

It's a buffet disguised as a Sizzler. First you stand in line to order and pay. Then after being seated most people go to the salad bar. Which is more like a poor mans buffet than a salad bar. If you order an entree the meat is meh and the vegetables are overcooked. I would give it two star but my daughter liked the macaroni and cheese from the salad bar. The best buffet in town! It is worth the money, 2 people with a meal and full salad bar was $30! The trick here is to order your meal and just save it for later then just pig out at the salad bar! That way you have food to take home in a box since they won't let you take anything from the salad bar home! ;) Their cheese bread is so good and it is complimentary! Their clam chowder and salad is always good! They usually have chicken wings and onion rings, brownies and tacos every time I go! They even have a soft serve ice cream machine. Wow I've made big decisions on future dining after this visit. Never will I visit a sizzler ever again. Something was way off in this place...service was fine but there was a lot lacking in the food. 1. 3 of 4 slices of garlic bread burnt 2. Nothing even remotely decent on salad bar...even the tortilla chips were meh 3. Steak looked like ones you can get at the dollar store. 3. Fried shrimp was edible but it was fried...hard to mess that up. 4. Grilled shrimp...dry as a bone and bland 5. So called ice cream was consistency of soup... 6. Every bite eaten had an "off" flavor Either this place had a real bad night or Sizzler as a whole needs to reevaluate their style of food. I've apologized to my family and will never ever question them if they suggest cheap mediocre fast food...which would get at least 2 more stars. We went in tonight for dinner. We were looking for a salad bar as we passed through the area on a business trip as one of us has a gluten allergy and find it difficult to eat on the road. We both got the ribs and chicken breast dinner with added salad bars. The salary bar was excellent and was fully stocked every time we went back with fresh ingredients. Even the lettuce was great ! (&i'm a stickler about lettuce looking gross). Our waiter was Byron and provided EXCELLENT customer service. He checked on us very frequently and was quick with our requests. We almost didn't come here to eat because of some of the bad reviews on Yelp but obviously they didn't have Byron as a waiter. Prices were reasonable and portions of the ribs and chicken were generous. The manager however, gave us some funny and judgemental looks. Nonetheless, We are glad we stopped in for dinner - with bellies full, we are back on the road! read more

If you're a senior citizen and looking for your discount here, you probably won't get it. We didn't. We went as a group of 4 ... all over 60. We clearly stated we qualified for the senior discount and were absolutely assured it was no problem and we'd get it. We left my husband to finish paying and went off to find our table and get some food. Seems the hostess just didn't have any better memory than we do. We didn't discover until after we had left that none of us got the discount! The overall service in the whole place was rushed, even though it was only 3:30 pm. The host waiter was slothful about offering to refill drinks until we were ready to leave, and never once asked if we needed anything else. And the 'grilled'(?) shrimp weren't. Definitely fried. What can I say, it's sizzler. I went with my family of four. Three of us ordered the shrimp skewers with salad bar. The shrimp came out cold and rubbery. We told our server, and she brought the manager swiftly. He was sort of condescending and told us that's just how the shrimp is. He did offer us a replacement entree, so i stuck with my old standard malibu chicken, which is okay, pretty much a fried chicken patty with ham and swiss cheese, and a mayo- mustard sauce to dip it in. They have a decent salad bar with wings, meatballs, a dessert bar, a taco bar. I stay away from the tacos because the shells taste stale and the meat looks less than appetizing. I do enjoy the salad bar but it would have been nice if it had been kept stocked. The main salad ran out and wasn't filled for a while, among other things. I enjoy sizzler once in a while because you know what to expect from the food but my experience at this location was not great. read more

we were very disappointed in a place us and two other couples meet monthly to visit and have a good meal. We had not met much through the summer as we were all busy. When we finally had time to visit our once favorite place we found no onion rings (a big thing for some of us), and they had changed the chicken wings. They were so hot we couldn't eat them, we are 70 s plus in age...they tasted awful. I eat here from time to time, and have never experienced a really good meal. Typically, the steak I order is tough and under-cooked. I took a chance and dined here again this evening. I've decided to never return; today's meal was horrible. I ordered their steak and lobster combination, and included the all-you-can-eat salad bar. I understand that paying only $19.99 for steak and lobster isn't going to get you the best cut of steak, but, honestly, this steak was so bad that I'm surprised it wasn't served with a chainsaw instead of a steak knife -- it was THAT difficult to cut through. I ate perhaps one-fourth of this so-called piece of meat. I would have asked for a replacement, but I had already sent the lobster back to the kitchen because it was quite under-cooked. My server gladly returned it to the kitchen, and when she returned after having it cooked further, she told me that the cook agreed that it was quite under-cooked. The salad bar would have been okay, but I assembled my salad without wearing my eyeglasses and didn't notice until I returned to my table and put them on to read something, that the whole button mushrooms I had placed in my salad had not been cleaned. There were bits of dirt all over them. Yuck. I removed them from my salad and ate what remained. This wasn't my worst restaurant experience, but all these missteps added up to an unpleasant dining experience. I've given this Sizzler location too many chances, but they always manage to disappoint. Never again will I step foot into this place. read more
