My second time here and once again They Did NOT Disappoint. Every dish cooked and prepared as you would expect the texture and flavors to be from a Thai Kitchen. My protein theme for this meal was chicken and shrimp. Ai was more than pleased to discover that the Shrimp were CLEAN! Properly cooked and flavored for my Shrimp Fried Rice and Shrimp Pad Thai dishes. Delicious. The chicken Satay. Connoisseur Chicken Curry (mild) and Orange Chicken were succulent flavorful true breast meat morsels that made each dish a delight as well as a treat to consume. The service was gracious courteous respectful inviting and welcoming on every level. The ambiance was that of a busy small quaint personable dinning area and experience that will have you return again for certain. Worth the stop and review completely.

    Pad thai...very forgettable

Wow. I eagerly awaited this food. I was sure I was in for a treat based on reviews. Here is where things went sideways. They forgot key component sauces for our veggie rolls. Rolls were bland. Very bland and dry with nothing to dip them in. How do u forget the sauces on an order over 100 dollars? Orange chicken was dry and tasted old. It was chewy, tough, and very wtf. My pad Thai was average, and I never found the extra chicken I paid for. We don't live anywhere near Downey, and there are better Thai food options between us and them. Lesson learned. This place was not it.

So good! The food was flavorful and fresh, and the service was amazing. Everything came out quickly and the staff was so welcoming. Definitely coming back!

We had a great experience. They were super busy and still managed to make time to talk to us and ask how we were doing. After learning that we like a high level of spice, they offered additional spices that are house made. Definitely returning to try new items and their delicious vegetable fried rice, yellow curry, and noodles. Great service and generous portions.

Always love coming to this place. Good food with a very extensive menu to choose from.

Ordered takeout for a catered work lunch. The person who took my phone order was so patient and helpful. Pad see ew - the noodles were not soggy but was a bit under seasoned. I chose tofu as the protein but was not expecting non-fried tofu - see pic. Calamari - not greasy and the calamari to batter ratio was perfect.

Sizzling Thai is the BEST! We tried about 8 different dishes and each one was so delicious! Ingredients were fresh and quality. We swooned after every bite! Seriously, this is the best Thai I've ever had!

Thai food is one of my favorites and my girlfriend recommended this spot because she had the Tom Kha Soup once, years ago and never forgot about it. Anyways, we visited during the dinner hour and were highly impressed. The staff were super friendly and welcoming and the service was exceptional. Of course we ordered the Crab Rangoons as a starter and it was hot and crispy. For the entrees we ordered the Tom Kha Soup, Pad See Ew with Beef and the Pineapple Fried Rice w/ Chicken. The soup was hot, creamy and fragrant with fresh ginger and lemongrass. The shrimp was generous in size and flavorful from simmering in the broth. The Pad See Ew and the Pineapple Fried Rice was delicious. Overall we had a great experience at this local mom and pop spot nestled in a neighborhood in Downey, Ca. Thank you Sizzling Thai Kitchen!

    Pad See Ew

I have found my new favorite Thai restaurant! This cozy restaurant has such a great menu and it has delicious dishes. I opted for Chicken Pad See Ew and it was quite honestly some of the best I've had. The portions are great and it was so filling. For my drink, I got a thai tea which you can add boba too but I chose not to. The service here is great and they checked up on us periodically to see if we needed anything. This is the perfect spot to sit in and dine or get a take out order from. For a Sunday, this place was not overwhelming busy but I did see quite a few orders being picked up. I didn't have room for dessert but I can't wait to come back and try their mango sticky rice and fried banana.

Our party ordered a take-out and placed an order via Yelp. Parking was really easy (free plaza parking lot) and no one was in the restaurant when I came for pick-up. The staff said they messed up our order so our party received one extra free large Thai iced tea and extra beef for all orders with beef. *** N3 Pad see ew (stir fried flat rice noodles with egg, broccoli, and carrots with sauce - $13.95 & extra $1 for beef): It was definitely interesting to see pad see ew dish with carrots. Not sure whether my order actually had extra beef and my noodle tasted alright. Thai iced tea: A little bit too sweet for my taste. *** My friend said his N9 roasted duck pad see ew was really good, but personally the overall experience was mediocre at best. It is one of those places that I would only come here for convenience for local residents and not drive out of the way for it.

Not the best looking restaurant in a strip mall but the food was great. Inside needs some updates. Probably better to order to go.

So today I decided to bring a friend out to try authentic Thai food and Can Coon did not disappoint us at all. I ordered Nam Kao Tod : Crispy rice with ground pork ,ginger, peanut I ordered not spicy B/C my friend can't handle the heat. Thai flavors are like how I experienced in Thailand so flavorful they made it just right. My favorite dish. Nuah Num Tok: It's beef salad with roasted rice lime juice red onions I asked to cooked the steak medium rare and it came out perfect Chinese Broccoli with Crispy Pork: this dish is my all time favorite. Crispy Pork was nice and crispy not chewy not hard at all Can Coon knows how to make this dish so well. Chinese Broccoli was not over cooked it was fresh and crunchy. Last dish was a Thai Menudo soup Or #45 Tom Kreong Nai The beef was so tender melt in my mouth, tribes was crunchy not over cooked we loved it with a hint of limes I added more of chilies powder B/C Thai food is all about the heat and spicy. The Thai Lady that took care of us is super sweet and friendly She's very attentive always keeps my glass full. She makes sure we got everything we need and with smile too. The restaurant is very clean no trash on the floor no stain or food left on the table. The Ambiance was nice and quiet not too loud we can have a normal conversation without yelling at each other. Honestly, it's basically…read morethe same broth, the king version just loads it up with brisket, tendon, tripe, and meatballs, so think of it as a fully stacked boat noodle. The broth is the star here. It's rich, flavorful, slightly sweet with a tangy kick, pretty sure there's some tangerine going on in there. Just a heads up, even "mild spicy level" has a noticeable heat, so if you're sensitive to spice, don't try to be brave... go no spice. The meats were surprisingly good, tender, not chewy, which is where a lot of places mess up. Noodles came out hot, no complaints there. We also got mango sticky rice and this is where they really sealed the deal. Mango was perfectly in season, juicy, sweet, not that sad sour off-season stuff. Sticky rice was soft and actually tasted like it was made fresh, not reheated from yesterday. Waitress was attentive and nice. Place itself is small, clean, modern, very mom-and-pop but done right, not rundown. I will definitely come back.

I like how's there's more dressing as you get the taste of it in every bite. The dressing however was a little too fish forward for me and you don't get much acid. IMO, the fish sauce and lemon (acid) should balance each other out. They use big tomatoes cut into wedges (as opposed to cherry tomatoes which I normally have at other Thai restaurants), And they give a good amount of food. Chow Mein: my boyfriend ate this. He said it was okay. It looked pretty good to me. Thai ice tea: I ordered this with boba. And as I was drinking it, I don't know what was in it but it definitely was not boba. It was orange with a chewy texture. I checked the receipt and it clearly says BOBA.

Ambiance check since Yelp cares: it's a bit bright but not blinding, clean, simple, and comfy--same chill, modern energy as places you actually want to sit and enjoy your food in. THE SEAFOOD SOUP. Listen. This soup is the reason. I don't know if it's the fire that keeps it lava-hot, or the lemon flavor sent straight from heaven, but it is absolute magic. Life-changing. Spiritual. Order it.
