We've come here a couple of times and have always left super satisfied and verrry full. They have a wide selection of meats, and are separated in 3 different tiers. We always go with Course B. And our favorite meats to order are the Beef Brisket, beef bulgogi, pork belly, chicken bulgogi, and the New York Steak. All the meats are so soft to bite in, especially the chicken and New York Steak. And honestly, compared to other AYCE places I've tried, their meats are much better quality. Make sure to ask for sesame oil and rice to make the perfect combo of everything. All the side dishes are delicious and always end up asking for extra. Servers have always been super quick and attentive with replacing our grills and asking for more to order. They have a really big place so they can seat small to big parties, but I'd just try to avoid the busier weekend afternoons as we've noticed it gets busy with bigger parties. FOOD: They have good amount of choices and of good quality with great portions. They are also pretty generous when you ask for the sides and sauces so that was a plus. SERVICE: The service was prompt and welcoming even when it is a full house. AMBIENCE: Can be fairly loud but that is not a problem given its usually a food setting for groups. Although the smokey smell still lingers on your clothing after eating here the exhaust they have still helps a lot clearing out the mugginess. Service was okay for a busy Monday night. My only critiques are that the restaurant was dirty. SizzlinGogi is the only place on the Central Coast to get AYCE Korean BBQ. I've driven here from SLO more than a handful of times over the past few years and have tried each menu option. Compared to AYCE KBBQ in the Bay or LA, this would barely be 1/5 stars, but for a monopoly in Santa Maria, 3/5 would suffice. The meat is subpar, the banchan is lacking, service is generally poor, grill changes are very slow, they give you half-sized portions after the first order, and the price keeps on rising. I always ask for additional salt and sesame oil to try and compensate for the lack of quality. The process is like any other AYCE KBBQ place: pick your menu options, wait for the food to come out, and play master chef for your friends. The beef brisket, beef bulgogi, and seasoned premium cut beef are the best things on the menu. They give you a free dessert on your birthday which is nice. What I really don't like about this place is how the manager/owner comes by every 5 minutes and stares you down like you've committed a crime. The real crime here is how much the bill comes out to. Another thing that bugs me is how often they turn down the heat. What the hell. Definitely not the best place for a $25-$35 meal, but not bad if you're celebrating a special occasion and craving KBBQ. read more

Loved it! I haven't had Korean bbq in a while so I'm glad we found this place. We got there at about 5:30pm on a Saturday. It was pretty busy (all the tables were taken), but they were able to seat us within 10 minutes. I think a lot of people who were waiting had large parties. I highly suggest making a reservation if you come with a group of more than 6 people. FYI, you can only stay for a max of two hours. There's also plenty of parking. They have outdoor seating, but it was closed. Our server was great. She was very soft spoken and sweet. We never really had to wait if we wanted anything. She was always there to make sure we had everything we needed. She also made sure to change out the grill between our orders. A++ We got the AYCE course b: beef Bulgogi, tri tip, an entire New York steak, beef brisket, premium seasoned steak and rice. Everything was great! My husband and I both agree the beef Bulgogi was the best. He also loved the tri tip. All the side dishes were really good--loved the kimchi! You can get three types of meat at once. I would honestly say that this place deserves 3 stars but since it is the only Korean BBQ spot in the area, I have to give it an extra star just for existing. Compared to LA or the bay area, the selection and quality here does not really compare - but it still manages to fill me up when I am craving some Korean BBQ. The menu has different AYCE tiers - with more meats available on higher tiers. I always go with the most basic option and it gets the job done. As for service - it does tend to get busy at times but I have yet to feel forgotten by the service. I know it must be hard to provide great service at a restaurant like this, so kudos to them for delivering on a pretty consistent basis. Overall a decent spot to get your Korean BBQ fix, but if you're heading to LA or the bay area anytime soon, you are far better off waiting it out and eating it there. read more

The lunch deal is a steal for all you can eat ribeye. The only problem I have is that they ruined my pants! Sounds weird but the grill in the center of the table is greasy and dirty and when seated your knees may touch the bottom of it making a grease stain on your pants. The dining room is comfortably adorned with 1/2 booth 1/2 chair tables that all center around a personal 'bbq' to cook your food. You have the option of a la carte options or choosing one of the 'all you can eat' specials. We normally order a special that includes brisket, beef bulgogi, and pork belly. You cannot go wrong with any of those options. The meat is great quality and all of the accompaniments go well with the meat entrees. I'm also a big fan of their steamed egg. I know this is the only Korean BBQ in town but I've been to many and this place stands w the best of them. Their servers are trained well and are on top of orders n changing the grills. The variety of banchans are excellent! Some of my fave meats are pork jowl, beef belly, beef brisket, New York steak. Cheesy corn is good w the meal. Definitely ask for more salt n pepper n sesame oil to dip meat. My family eat here often because you get your money's worth. Quality food, friendly service, AYCE... comfy dining every time. What an awesome spot! We were greeted and seated quickly and had super friendly servers. We didn't go at a particularly busy time ( Sunday early evening) and we didn't have to wait at all for anything. Santa Maria doesn't offer much in terms of authentic Asian cuisine, but when it comes to Korean cuisine, SizzinGogi does a decent job. I've come here on multiple occasions, for the past year or so. I've seen the many menu changes in the past year, from AYCE price reduction (with accompanied menu selections reduction), banchan number reduction, and lastly kimchi pancake removal from the AYCE menu. Back about a year ago, the AYCE lunch and dinner menus were different prices; but about half a year ago, they made both the lunch & dinner price the same and at reduced prices (NOW: $15.99 pp vs. BEFORE: $21.99 pp (lunch) and $23.99 (dinner)). With the reduced prices, there was also a reduction in the number of items that you could order from the AYCE menu and a reduction from about 10 banchan to 3 banchan. Initially, this didn't matter too much to me because my favorite items still were in the lowest priced menu (e.g. tofu soup, bean paste stew, steamed egg, and kimchi pancake), so I was still a happy camper. But as the saying goes...all good things must come to an end. Sadly, this was true with SizzlinGogi. Came here on Valentine's Day this year and also in March and was a bit disappointed with the further menu reductions. While the AYCE price remained the same, some of my favorite items from the $15.99 AYCE menu slowly faded out of the menu-- (1) my beloved tofu soup, which became excluded from the cheapest menu and placed on the next more expensive menu above it ($21.99), and (2) kimchi pancake, was no longer complimentary and was going to cost 5 bucks a-la-carte. Similarly, in the past, SizzlinGogi offered a fairly large selection of vegetables to grill with your AYCE meat. However, during my past few visits, they were really skimping on vegetables and only offered cucumbers and onions. Overall, when I saw that SizzlinGogi reduced its prices to $15.99 all you can eat for the lowest priced menu, I was very pleased because it made its AYCE prices similar to what you can find in LA (such as Cham Sut Gol in Buena Park). For a while, I would have given this place a solid four stars but now with all the menu reductions with the (1) banchan, (2) vegetables to grill, (3) elimination of kimchi pancake, and (4) elimination of tofu soup/sundubu from the $15.99 menu, SizzlinGogi rating drops down to a THREE (3) star rating. read more

There are a lot of caveats due to the nature of the game, this takes the rating higher but this is important because we are lucky to have AYCE KBBQ here in Santa Maria. First, location wise the place is in a lame spot on Broadway but hey what can you do about that? They actually did a decent job with the decor, as the place looks really nice inside (gets a bit cold) but really beautiful interior. The outside is colorful at night, definitely an eyesore IMHO but attracts interest for sure. Plenty of parking. The service is incredible, I wouldn't say people in Santa Maria are huge KBBQ eaters and neither am I so the servers do an excellent job of breaking down what it is you are being served and how it might taste. They also have great facility with handling or not handling the grill, which is great as opposed to LA where they often just take over because you are making a fool of yourself. Quality is excellent, I think the food is amazing and I love it. There are limitations if you're comparing the experience to some of the LA market restaurants but SG has more than enough choices for meat. $$$ is a bit high but again, this is Santa Maria not LA. You are paying for novelty, you are paying to give something different a chance. Kudos to the people who brought Santa Maria a taste of Korean BBQ, I hope to continue to come here. The majority of the reviews of this place are pretty spot on. The pricing is a bit steep for what you get, but the staff is friendly and service is quick. A lot of the meat isn't really seasoned or marinated (they give you sauces and a salt mixture). It's a cool modern looking place with a cool wine storage unit right when you walk in the door. The booth we were seated at had a ripped cushion cover. However, they get points for being a decent KBBQ place in the area. I came here with 8 of my friends to sit down and enjoy some quality meat. For the most part, I can say I was satisfied, from the quality of the food to the service we'd received. The price is however on the higher end, but I guess that can't really be avoided as it's the only decent kbbq place in like a 50 mile radius. I wasn't a big fan of how the levels were split up, normally I'm used to nicer cuts of meat being offered in the second level but it seemed most of the quality was locked behind the final pay level. Overall I enjoyed my experience here, you're not just paying for the (decent) food but also the modern atmosphere that's being offered. My friend, and I actually got a table really quickly, which told me that the servers really work fast, and hard here! Corrin, was our server, and she was fantastic! She explained everything that was served and how to do things, she was very attentive to our needs, and making sure we were happy! Didn't even know that they had AYCE KBBQ in the San Luis Obispo area, but this place was legit. They were very COVID safe and there was space, at least 10 feet, between each table. They offered three different AYCE options from $24 - $34 per person. We opted for the $34 option because we wanted the short ribs, beef tongue and ribeye steak. The service was impeccable - multiple servers came over to take our orders for meats, bring us more sides and to change out our grill. The quality of meat was excellent - it all looked and tasted really fresh. My favorite cuts of meat had to be the short ribs and the ribeye (they give you an entire steak to put on the grill) - so I thought going for the more expensive option was well worth it. We came around when they opened on a Saturday and they were busy, but we got seated immediately. They have a large parking lot so finding a spot is no worry at all. read more
