I love coming here whenever I get the chance--the ambiance and atmosphere make it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The food is excellent. Their take on pho soup is especially well executed and has quickly become one of my favorite dishes. The flavors are balanced and authentic, and you can really tell the care that goes into preparing it. Coming from Los Angeles, where great pho is easy to find, it's refreshing to be able to enjoy a bowl on the Central Coast that's made properly and with such attention to flavor. First time visiting this small shop in nipomo. Wasn't sure what to expect but I like the vibe inside and the staff ( owners) were great. At times slight delays in service but there appeared to be maybe 3 total people working? It wasn't a huge wait though so no complaints. Fried tofu- for me this was a 2? Cooked well but so bland. The sauce was great so maybe tofu is meant to be sauced only? Without the sauce it just tasted like water and batter. Bbq chicken noodle curry- one of the specialty dishes and boy did it deliver! Very tender chicken, amazing depth of flavor and nice portion. Easily 2 meals in one for me so the price made sense. I think some people might think it's pricey but I think it's spot on based on the ingredients, the flavor and the portions. I did try my friends spring roll and it also was amazing! Ordered on DoorDash the other day. I got pad see ew with shrimp. They gave a generous portion of large shrimp with the tail left on. The packaging was perfect and well plated even for takeout; however I wasn't a huge fan of how the noodles were made. It wasn't as saucy and charred as I like my normal pad see ew noodle dishes. I'm so late to the party on this one! I can't believe it's been around for a decade, and I just tried it! I was with a big group, and everyone loved it. We swapped and shared, and it was all delicious. They had the best panang curry I've had in years. The chicken was tender and the shrimp were huge! We also had bao, shumai, lettuce wraps, spicy edamame, pumpkin curry, roasted veggies, crispy tofu, Thai iced tea, mango sticky rice, and I'm probably forgetting some others. You know when you cant stop talking about how great the food is the place has to be good. And sure enough while staying in Santa Maria for a week I searched up best Thai Restaurants in the area. This restaurant was in the top ten so my mom and I decided to try it. When we arrived the door had a sign that said cash/venmo only accepted. So make sure you have either or as forms of payment. It will be worth it trust me. We were greeted by Jay Nipomo and seated promptly. Impeccable customer service. Met all are needs. Water was filtered, not tap. Always had extra napkins. Ordered the Pad See u with beef, yum salad Ribeye, tom yum soup with chicken, lettuce wrap name sod & crispy rice, chamomile citron tea. Everything is an must try. Served fresh all veggies and meats. I've been to quite a few Thai restaurants and hands down this one is the best that I have tried. You can tell the cook puts their heart and soul in every dish. Delicious! My wife and I ate here with our 5 year old grandson who was fresh out of school. The waiter brought out a bowl of rice for our starving grandson which was very nice!! This was our 1st visit to this restaurant and it definitely won't be our last!! We order fried spring rolls and chicken satay. The spring rolls were excellent. The order of satay had huge chicken pieces compared to many other Thai places we've eaten at. We ordered our "goto" Thai dishes which are Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken and my wife had Pumpkin Curry with shrimp. The shrimp were large for a curry dish. Both main dishes were excellent and I would say probably the best Pineapple Fried rice I've ever had. We will definitely be back for the great food and service! read more

Probably the worst Thai food I ever had. The owner was upselling us on the pork belly which I normally really like. My husband ordered Pad Thai and myself the Spicy Fried Rice with the recommended pork belly. It came in a huge grisly slice dumped on the entree. Mostly fat and hardly any meat. Hard to cut and unappetizing. Not even crispy. Left most of it on a side plate. Basically, the meal in general was very bland and hardly spicy as promised. Vegetables included poorly cut red and green peppers and stringy basil. Also, it was expensive. I've usually had good luck with Thai food but it ran out at this place. read more

We have been there 6-8 times, often taking friends. everyone has always been impressed. our dinner 2 nights ago was exceptional. we started with the lettuce wrap appetizer and wow! so good, and I'm a picky eater. I'd even consider having it as a meal, and the portion was certainly large enough. our musaman chicken and yellow curry chicken were both excellent. the pork used in the "drunken noodle" was very flavorful and oh so tender. the owners brought us a sample of a new dish they're trying out, orange chicken with their own twist. Look At Your Bill For Extra Charges My wife and I would go here once a month. Then the last few times they began adding charges for things that were supposed to be included like vegetables with the curry. Only vegetables, but they would charge us twice for vegetables. During the second time, the waitress admitted that it was a mistake, but refused to change the bill. The third time was a pickup order. Both times I ordered this item there was no additional charge. As I was having that conversation with the owner the waitress who took the order and served us the last two times escalated the argument and brought up the fact that she added additional fees on the previous times. Why she did that I have no idea, since it had no bearing on this current order. She just opened a wound from the past. It felt like she was saying, "You had no problem when I added the charges then on this other order, why would you have a problem now." It left me even more distressed. Customer service is lacking. I was incredibly disappointed with my recent visit to Thai Villa! I have been there two other times and been happy with the food and the service. Not this time! On Wednesday or server was mostly unattentive, and when paying attention, rude. The food was inedible. I think the lowest point in the meal was the shrimp wonton soup ordered by my date. The shrimp had clearly gone bad as evidenced by her gag as she tried to eat the first one. The whole thing smelled like a fishy mess. Our server helpfully suggested that we box it up and take it home. We declined. The rest of the food was bad, but not life threatenin. I brought it home and tried to pawn it off on others, with no luck, getting ready to throw it out. Of course we were charged for the rotten shrimp. Our bill for lunch for two was well over $100. Way too much of the food they present is bulk-purchased pre-prepared shortcuts. Those perfect grill marks on the chicken satay? You can thank Tyson for that. Or is it Sysco? Case in point, tonight's sad-ass "bbq" garlic pork. They forgot to include sauce so I got a chance to see and taste what I was really eating. It was a pre-grilled, pre-frozen, bulk purchased, dried up piece of meat that had been reheated and then sliced. The meat was presented on top of pre-prepped frozen veggies. The wholesaler probably refers to that product as "Asian Style" or "Asian Mix." It was beyond tasteless - and it was insulting because I was charged $15 for something that they had thawed out and re-heated. I was REALLY hungry so I called and told them it came with no sauce. The woman said they'd make me a "fresh" order, although she sounded surprised when I took her up on it. When I got that 2nd order home, it was exactly like the first, with 2 exceptions: 1) This time they included a tiny container of sauce. And by tiny, I mean, you know those tiny plastic containers that when a restaurant gives you so little ketchup you role your eyes? It was 1/2 filled. Less than a tablespoon. My daughter laughed and said, "now THAT'S passive-aggressive!" But I don't agree because I hadn't been rude about it and they were likewise friendly. I think I got the best they had to offer. And; 2) When they spooned the frozen, reheated Swanson-esque veg into the tray, they didn't wait for all of the water to drain off. So it was swimming in a puddle of water. The weird part is, I kind of expected them to do a little better job with that replacement dish. You can call me Pollyanna, or you can say I never learn... The garlic slivers were also a bulk purchase, which leaves me to wonder about the sauce. What brand? Por Kwan? That's the brand of pad Thai sauce I use at home and it tastes great - just like what you get in many Thai restaurants which, presumably, it is. Even though they're right nearby, I'd rather wait until I can get to My Thai in SLO. They have a real kitchen. read more
