Will not be back!!! I've really tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt. I can't speak for Nikki but the other girl's work are complete trash. Eyelash strips/extensions are not even, threading is uneven and not customized to YOUR eye shape, eyebrow tinting is so see through and uneven. How can someone apply tinting and eyelash strips while standing behind someone??? I've given this place multiple chances and they NEVER get it right! I'm tired of wasting my money. Plus they speak in another language so I don't know if I'm being talked about. My tinting only lasted 2 days and they destroyed my eyebrow shape. They are way too thin. If you are a rush and go girl that doesn't know what skillful eyelash/eyebrow work looks like, then this is the place for you. read more

I arrived there about 10:30am on a Monday. Only niki was there and when I asked for a haircut, she politely asked me to wait and she went out to the dollar store next door. A man came in, niki was still gone and he asked me if I wanted a haircut to which I said sure. I had showered and washed my hair before going there. He started cutting my hair and made a lot of comments to it: losing hair, dry scalp, whoever cut my hair last did a bad job. He also knocked off competitions like hair current and the brow bar at Chicago ridge. The convo was pretty awkward. And he charged me $15. I asked about the sign that said $8.99, he said that's for kids even tho I did not see "kids" anywhere on the sign. And I asked for an inch off and I think he cut more than that. But it's ok. I can work w it. I had the groupon for the $6 threading. The man left and niki came back. At first she told me to come back a week bc I had baby hairs. Then she offered to brush it up for me since I bought the groupon already. She did a good job w my brows, and it's painless compared to my experiences w other places. The Internet was out at the time and I didn't have cash so she and the man had to keep running to the store next door to charge. And as it turned out, the haircut should've been $10 not $15, bc the guy thought niki had washed my hair hence the extra $5 charged. But it evened out since there was some groupon complications and Internet complications that prevented me from paying any more for the brows. I would've given 3 for the haircut and the guy but niki was very nice and accommodating and fair so hence the extra star. $8 brows, $5 brows on mon and tues $10 adult haircut $15 adult haircut and wash $8.99 "kids haircut" I still don't know how much they charge for pedi's, mani's. There were signs w different prices so it was confusing and a bit frustrating. Anyway, just ask for niki and bring cash in case their internet is out again. And probably best to come in the afternoon and not morning since only one person is in the store. read more

I wanted to switch up where I usually get my brows done because they were getting too busy. This place very close to where I live and Yelpers gave it favorable reviews. Niki did a great job, and it wasn't overly painful. My eyebrows were evenly done (which has been difficult for some to accomplish since I have a permanent scar under one of them). Monday and Tuesday is $5 (cash only; they charge an extra dollar if you utilize plastic); $8 dollars the remainder of the week. I had the same experience with the male "stylist"! He asked who cut my hair before and knocked them, told me my hair was falling out, then 5 minutes later told me I had healthy hair. He also mentioned that he is a full time student, owns and manages the dollar store next door, and sells cars, all while he's a hair dresser?! I asked for a long bob, a very simple cut I imagine, and one side of my hair is a long bob with some layers, but the other side has some short and some long layers that go in a diagonal down the side of y head. Not a good look. So so disappointed. And they charged me $25 for my hair cut and wash, but he didn't ask if I wanted a blow dry so I couldn't tell how ridiculous I looked! I'm going to stick with Studio K, same price, excellent service, and great at what they do! And only a little over a mile away! read more

I went here off a referral from my sister. I must say I was really impressed with the service. Nikki noticed my stomach right away and she engaged accordingly. I was about 16 and half weeks pregnant, I could barely lay back without struggling, and I was still suffering with first trimester symptoms. Therefore, when she applied the tent to my eyebrows, I instantly became nauseous. I had to ran outside to puke. Nikki helped me up and she was really patient with me. I started coming here based on a Groupon and have been a customer ever since. I've been coming to Scissor Trix for years and had my eyebrows and lashes done numerous times. On Monday and Tuesday eyebrow threading is $5 and it can get very packed but the ladies here greet everyone and work hard to keep the wait short. I have very particular eyebrows and although I asked for just a clean up, a lot more than a clean up was done. One eye brow is a lot longer than the other while she also took off a lot more than needed at the front of one brow which is a section that takes the longest to grow back. Every time I try and fill in my eyebrows it's so difficult because they have such a bad shape. I seriously cannot wait for them to grow out. She was also done in a matter of 5 minutes and the didn't even take off the hairs she was supposed to take off in the middle. And once she finished up, she didn't even offer me aloe or lotion. This was the first time getting my brows done via the threading method and I like it a lot better than the wax. I did have some slight irritation probably because this was a new method for me, but it went away after about 10 minutes. I come here for eyebrow threading and I usually get Nikki, she is amazing in her craft of threading my eyebrows usually take a while to grow back in and they come in uneven and Nikki makes them symmetrical and flawless in the five minutes in which it takes for her to finish. However I have noticed that the other ladies who work in the shop especially the younger female are not at all comparable to Nikki's abilities. Trust everyone on here and spare yourself and only see Nikki. She does a great job with no pain or redness afterwards, she will never let you down. Great service, the lady took me in immediately and threaded my eyebrows very quickly. The price was great for what I got and I felt she did a great job on my brows. My only complaint is that later on, when speaking with my friend who does eyebrows as a side job, she told me that the lady could have cleaned it up more by the brow bone and I noticed that she neglected the tail of my eyebrow as well.
