STAY FAR AWAY! I had an appointment scheduled for 12/12 at 2:15 PM. On 12/11 at 10:04 AM, I received a text asking me to confirm with "Y" or cancel with "X." I was at work and wasn't able to respond immediately. By 11:18 AM the same morning, my appointment had already been rescheduled without my consent. When I reached out for clarification, Jazmine asked if I wanted to reschedule. I explained that I found it strange and concerning that my appointment could be moved without notifying me. She insisted that nobody had rescheduled it, even though I had the confirmation texts proving otherwise. I sent screenshots in case there was an internal issue with messages not showing, but she continued to repeat that "nobody moved it." Because I've had previous negative experiences with SkinLaundry, this incident with Jazmine was the final straw. Being told something didn't happen, when I had proof it did, is just dishonesty. When I ultimately canceled my membership, she added a note claiming that I was rude to the staff during scheduling. My screenshots show the opposite. At no point was I rude; instead, Jazmine was dismissive and unprofessional. When speaking verbally on the phone, she told me she had apologized in the text messages, yet there is no apology anywhere in the conversation. I then spoke with the manager on the phone who essentially brushed off my concerns and told me I was being "snarky" for simply asking whether my appointment would keep getting rescheduled. As a paying client, I think it's reasonable to want consistency and transparency. Overall, I cannot recommend SkinLaundry. Their customer service is unprofessional, and the environment is biased. Managers seem more interested in protecting their staff than addressing legitimate concerns. On top of that, the treatments themselves are not worth the cost; there are other places that use more effective lasers and deliver faster results. I honestly feel bad giving a lower rating because Skin Laundry as a place is wonderful. The staff was incredibly kind and the service itself is a total 5 out of 5. I went in for the $50 first-time promotional appointment. I arrived a little early, as recommended, and there was a bit of a wait. Totally understandable since there seemed to be only one person running the machine at a time. They take before photos in case you end up doing multiple sessions. The pricing is definitely on the higher side and they do encourage memberships, which I get, but for me it all depended on whether the treatment actually worked. Here's where it wasn't so great. They did warn me I might break out a little after. I was expecting a small purge, but what happened was much worse. My skin reacted really badly. I developed increased hyperpigmentation even though I originally went in to treat it, and my skin barrier basically crashed. I didn't expect that at all. It started the very next day and took about a month for my skin to recover, and I didn't change anything in my routine. I'm not new to skincare or treatments. I regularly get things done in South Korea like Thermage FLX, Pico laser, Fraxel, and IPL, plus injections like Rejuran Healer. I know how my skin usually behaves with lasers and energy-based devices, and this reaction felt completely out of left field. If the treatment had simply had no effect, that would've been fine since a lot of these things take time. But the effect was genuinely negative for my skin, and I still don't know why. I don't think I'll be back. That said, if your skin type responds well to their treatments, the service and staff are amazing. Just be cautious and really listen to your skin. read more

I received a response to my review in which I commented on the significant discrepancy between the advertised rate and the discounted rate for services rendered. Yes, I know tipping is always optional, but my point was it was suggested at checkout that I tip on the advertised $375 for 2 procedures rather than the discounted rate of $250. Upon arriving Jazmine told me to get a rope and end my life over a dispute. Talking to customers like this is not appropriate. The lack of honesty this company does in combination in removing reviews is very sketchy. The ability to be violent to customers, then remove the review is a very icky thing to do. Also do not leave any of your real personal information on the waiver you fill out. Employees like Jazmine and her friends will make fake numbers and harass you. read more

My daughter was just turned away after we drove all the way there for her birthday facial. The ads never mention a 16+ rule, and your own website says treatments are available for anyone 13 and older with a parent or guardian. She's 15 for one more day -- which is older than 13 -- so there should have been no issue. To make matters worse, the staff member was snooty, short, dismissive, and didn't seem to know the company's own policy (website screenshot link below). This was supposed to be part of a sweet sixteenth celebration tomorrow which my wife expressed and now it's been completely ruined because of misinformation and poor customer service. My facialist was lovely and my daughter's was fine. No issues with the staff at all. You get the facial in the open, in a room with 3 beds so it's very much a factory vibe, not relaxing at all. They are moving people in and out quickly which I assume is why they don't steam your face! I've had SO MANY facials and never once had extractions without steaming...ouch. My daughter got the facial for acne with extractions and there were a *few* (painful) extractions and that was it. No steam, no finesse. Total waste of money. Unprofessional front desk won't refund me for my 4-month membership after I got allergic reactions after I came in for the first time saying they are a medical practice so they can't refund me or cancel my membership because of the contract. Meanwhile with the treatment, they advertise to customize a skin plan which I thought there will be at least a dermatologist or someone at least discusses the plan with me. However, there were only a nurse did a home-level laser on my face that i can totally do at home myself. They also refused my request rudely when I ask nicely for transferring the plan to a family member of mine or ask them to transfer me to another location of their chain. Purposely don't pick up my phone afterwards saying "you can't just keep calling us like this" when I only called once getting the result of Im still gonna pay for 4 months even I don't plan to receive the treatment. I sent my rashes to them on text message on Tuesday, got a response saying you have to come in for evaluation, which is just taking pictures of my face again with my makeup on as well. Honestly no comment. I understand and respect every practice has a policy. But you can't just force your client to have the treatment they are allergic to? Honestly I called in the second day after my treatment they agreed to refund me originally I don't know why there's a crazy front desk all of a sudden to purposely ruin this business and enrage their client. To the crazy front desk JAZMINE: FYI ALL MEDICAL PRACTICES NEED TO PUT PATIENTS' NEEDS FIRST I SUPPOSE THEY GOT TRAINED WHATS MEDICAL MALPRACTICE IF THEY CLAIM TO BE ONE. Also front desk keeps talking over me to make sure I don't get to speak. When I call they tell me to stop calling when I talk they talk over me. Not sure wtf is this but I'm out. Rescheduled with another location then appointment and membership got canceled less than 10 minutes before my appointment time. Does any of these make any sense at all? First reaction of rittenhouse location still told me my service got canceled today is still nonrefundable as their first reaction. Excuse me??? The laser was overpriced for what it was, but the RN was very professional and had great bedside manner. The low stars are because when I checked out, they asked for a tip. As a physician, I find it disgusting they are asking tips for an RN performing a medical laser. The laser was $900, and the options to tips were a percentage of $900 for a 12 minute laser. It's disgusting. That alone will not have me go back. When I looked at Reddit, there are NUMEROUS complaints about this. It's apparently well known "ick" associated with this company, and many people have complained. They clearly don't care. Skin laundry just pay your nurses appropriately. read more
