I have had several packages at this location however this will be my last one. It's clean and the massage and facial is good at a good price point. However, on two occasions I was advised on what I should tip. It's almost an intimidation to force you to tip 15% minimum off the regular price of the package not the discounted price you pay that they offer. Gratuity is not an obligation!!!! I was asked to put an additional tip on my card as a separate charge and to avoid the awkward moment in front of my guest I did so. Once I finish my package I will not be back!!!!! read more

I've always had my facials with Maggie and she is fantastic, very thorough (includes extractions) and friendly. She adjusts the type of facial based on my skin condition and the time of the year. With so many amazing and ethically run small businesses in the neighborhood, give this one a pass. I contacted them through their website about certain products. They didn't respond. I called and they claimed they didn't understand what products I was inquiring about although they are listed on the manufacturers website as selling them. Eventually I found a direct email address and they responded. They immediately confirmed they sold the products and they were in stock available for purchase + pick up. The following day I show up to a very flustered employee asking me to sit and wait. It was obvious that they never carried one of the products as the tester was missing from the product display area. She asked me to sit and wait. About 15 minutes later she comes out, she continues digging through drawers and can't find either product. She offers a version of one of the products that is like 5x the size. This product is perishable so I it would be a total waste to purchase the spa size of the product as it would just expire. She had no idea where the other product, in the display case was. She offered to sell me other products and shoved samples for differing product lines at my when I wasn't pleased. Eventually she called someone and they told me to come back. Avoid at all costs. read more

What a scam!!!! I bought facial package on one of their queens location. They told me you can use this package even in their other Locations. I haven't been there for 2 years because of pandemic. I have no idea they sold the store located in Queens. So I tried to call the other location store. They told me the Queens one was sold to a new owner, just simply gave me a number to call! Wow, great customer service!!!!! The following story was even worse. Basically I am screwed! I lost $803.61. They don't care about their customers. Decent neighborhood spot for a casual massage. Nothing too fancy here (it's tough to find an affordable, nice spa here in NYC) so don't expect much. The lobby/reception area is, however, pretty zen and relaxing. They offer great promotions & discounts every once in a while, which makes the service worth it. I don't think I'd come and pay full price for what it is, so be sure to check out Groupon or sign up for their newsletters to see their latest offerings. The first time I visited back in July 2018, my boyfriend and I had purchased a $42 Groupon deal per person (normally $100!) for a 60-min aromatherapy massage. We were able to call in and book a couples room. From what I remember, it was a large room and the massage itself was pretty nice. It was the first time I'd ever gotten one, so I didn't have any expectations. Before returning last weekend, I'd tried out a few other spots around the city. We decided to come back here for convenience reasons, and also because I saw that they were offering hot stone massages for $59, when they are usually $100. Why not, I'd been needing one anyway. And so we booked another couples room (which was much smaller than last time), and they assigned us with Dan Dan & Jen who were lovely! They were running about 15 minutes behind, but still honored our full 60 min and made sure we weren't in a rush to go anywhere afterwards. I found it a bit odd, however, that they didn't ask about our pressure preferences/areas to avoid before starting. They just jumped right into it, and at a couple points checked in to see if we were okay. I didn't entirely mind since it felt perfect for the most part and I'm not too particular, but I know others that might be. Last time we had to fill out a client massage form/questionnaire, so I was a little surprised that wasn't required this time around. The hot stones weren't used until about 20-30 minutes into the massage which I also found a little odd. I was worried they didn't realize we wanted the hot stones and were just giving us a standard body massage... It was a relief when they eventually used them, but I wish they were used a bit more since they felt so nice. We were sent off with two warm cups of tea, which I rly appreciated. Overall, a reliable/convenient spot for massages. Not really worth going out of your way for, but worth the indulgence if you're in the area and as long as there's a promotion/discount deal. read more

These 2 stars go towards my poor extraction facial with Maggie. I was very happy with Jenny but I made the mistake of wanting to try other positively-reviewed estheticians from Yelp. Maggie's massage technique was fine, I was more shocked by her extraction technique, which left me very upset and disappointed. Cons: - She barely steamed my face. I think I only got steam on my forehead for about 5 minutes. - My skin is more sensitive, especially with raging hormones from being 7 months pregnant (which she knew), so I personally prefer more gentle extractions. Maggie did warn me it would hurt and that she uses a needle. I should have stopped right there...Maggie's extractions and movements were extremely aggressive, hard, and super painful. After Jenny's facial my skin felt smoother and softer (which prompted me to get the promo package), but after Maggie's treatment, it is redder, bumpier, and more inflamed than ever with new blemishes I never had before. It felt like I went to town on my own face without clean hands versus having my face picked by professional. Maggie also wasn't very thorough, because, by the end of the night, 1 pimple turned into a huge cyst and 3 pimples still had pus in them! It's like she significantly aggravated my skin instead of improving it. Thank god for foundation because I caked it on today to cover the swelling and discoloration. read more

Leaving a review on behalf of someone else, given how bad they were treated. TLDR: decent facial treatment, but horrible way to treat customers. Full story: Went for a facial treatment here recently with a friend. Everything seemed normal until we started the treatment itself. Throughout the process, the person helping us was saying insulting comments such as "I see that you lose some weight, so you were fat before?". Did not even bother caring about other statements she said that were insulting my skin quality, given I assumed they were just trying to sell me more services. Upselling, I get it. But the weight comment, really?! Why is that necessary??? It gets worse. The end of the experience was a nightmare. As I pay for the treatment, the lady explicitly asks for a tip. She say "We recommend a 15% tip". Fine, I thought -- I give her 15% tip on top of what I paid already. Now, because I got a promotion on the treatment, I only paid 15% on the promotional price. Without delay, the lady yells at me and says the tip has to be at least 15% of their standard price, not the promotional price. Apparently her "recommended" tip is more so a mandate and is not on based what you actually paid... won't be coming back here. 3/5 for quality, 1/5 for customer service. read more

I found this spa on Groupon last year and have been a consistent customer since. After a few facials there I found May to be my favorite. She cares about my skin issues and works really hard to tackle my acne problem. They have package deals and allow you to make payments on them so that's pretty awesome. The only downside is the walls are paper thin so you do hear a lot of noise of people talking and moving around in the hallway. I love it here! read more

I purchased a Groupon for a microblading plus touch up in November. Shirley did my brows and she messed them up big time. The photos in yelp of microblading is most definitely not her work. I go in for my first session and she outlines my eyebrows. But I didn't like it so she gave me the pencil and told me to outline it to my liking. I did it to my right eyebrow thinking she would mirror it to my left eyebrow but she didn't so now my eyebrows are two different shapes. I also told her I don't like the shape to be too round or curved. She completely ignored what I said. The session was super short and she missed spots and it was a rushed sloppy job but she said she will fix it during the touch up. After my first session I called back saying my eyebrows were uneven and the receptionist said it's normal and I'm like okay.... Got my touch up yesterday and I told her it's two different shapes and that I just want her to even it out like my right brow but she completely messed them up MORE. I paid 200$ for the Groupon and $70 tip. So I spent almost 300$ to look WORSE. Top row is how I usually fill in my eyebrows. Second row is first session. Third row is touch up session and the last photo is also right after the touch up session. Do not come here!!! read more

This review is strictly for their manicure. My gel manicure came off within a week and I was disappointed. I was able to peel each and every one of them off, which comes to show the quality of their nail polish. I do have to say that the lady who did my nails was friendly but her skills were very average. I felt that I could have done a better job at home. She did not fully paint a few of my nails. I pointed them out and she agreeably fixed them. However, there was another manicurist who was cutting and filing her toenails right next to her, which offset my entire experience and I was pretty disgusted to be honest. It was actually hard to watch that I had to turn away to face the window lol. There are so many other places to get your nails done around the area - avoid here. read more

But the last two appointments, I've been getting my facials with someone who ruins my face. I've gotten microdermabrasion before and I've never had this experience. I purchased a Groupon for a facial and got it done in late 2020. Then paid tax & tip on top of that. The spa is hard to find tucked away on a side street and you have to head downstairs in a building to access it. The space is clean and carries organic skincare products by Eminence. I don't recall my esthetician's name. I felt the facial process was extremely long to the point where I was just laying there for what seemed like 20 min for her to come and finally work on my skin after steaming. I mentioned I had a hard stop at 4:15 so I could get to another appt. we didn't finish until almost 4:40 and I had to pay for a cab to get to my next appt (was late) because this took so long! Not sure if they were booked up with no staff? No one came to check on me and I nervously kept looking at the clock like I need to leave soon. My skin looked ok but nothing out of this world. I think time management needs to be better and being more attentive to clients. A facial shouldn't be this stressful. read more

To be fair, I think my acne flare up was due to stress, but they wouldn't have healed as fast had I not went to Susan for a facial. I also got a full body massage, which was amazing! I came to this place from Groupon, the 75 min customized facial, in need of an affordable facial. This place is located in Chinatown that goes down a flight of stairs into the establishment. That alone should already tell you what to expect. The front desk area was very clean and nice. However the room the facial was being done wasn't reflecting the modern cleanliness of the front. The rooms are not completely enclosed all the way and it's a bit on the older side. There is no ambiance or tranquility of a spa. The lighting is the harsh light when it's on and it's like they have two rickety spa beds in the same room. You can hear EVERYONE talking in the front and all over the place. My facial lady didn't really greet me or give me a run down of what she's doing or what to expect. She would speak softly in a mandarin accent VERY unclearly. This isn't my first rodeo getting a facial, I have had better and I know what to expect from a decent place. What I detest the most was that she didn't use any facial steam, or a warm face cloth to open my pores at the start of the facial. She would use tissue napkins instead of luke warm water to cleanse my face which felt icky. I checked the trash after the facial was finished and there were tons of napkin tissues in there. She used them to cleanse my face from a mask as well, YUCK! It was hard to relax with everyone talking and hearing the footsteps of them pacing around with their slippers. They played the soft spa music but it couldn't drown out them yelling & talking at each other in Mandarin. There would be some aspects of the facial that would feel nice like the neck massage and light therapy. Other than that I felt like she really tried to let me know how bad my skin is. I was breaking out and probably in need of extractions, but I did not trust the place at all for her to do that on me. Last thing I want is further damage on my skin. My skin isn't horrible but they way she kept commenting on it & pushing their spa packages and skincare was discerning. !!NEWSFLASH!! people who don't have perfect skin are the ones getting a facial, so yea it's not going to be glass skin your working with. I really recommend going anywhere else for a facial. I wasn't about to let them have more of my money so I didn't do any of the packages she was offering, which was apparently available on that day only. Don't come here. The decor and amazing smell as I entered the Spa definitely set the mood for a relaxing experience. I was a little early and they were very accommodating. It was a cold and rainy day so it was much appreciated. They offered me tea and chocolates. Because I was early they started me with my facial which was done by May. She was pretty awesome. She took her time and even switched the BioLife eye treatment for a seaweed mask. She suggested I get a facial every month but wasn't pushy at all. She even made me laugh a few times. The second part of my appointment consisted of an aromatherapy massage and is why I gave a three star rating. I didn't get her name, although I really should have. First, she barely used any massage oil and it had no aroma what so ever. At times I felt like she was rubbing my skin way too hard. I actually felt a burning sensation and had to ask her to lower the pressure. I got my massage yesterday, and today I feel literally beat up. But that's not the worse of it. As she entered the room she threw a loud burp. LOL. It's funny to me now but it wasn't at the time. And on top of all this I could hear people walking and talking the entire time, not very relaxing at all. All in all the experience was worth it. I had a Groupon which was $79 for the massage, facial with BioLife and I was able to get 20% off that price. Making a reservation was easy. The staff was friendly, the facility was clean and I didn't feel any pressure to buy anything. I would definitely recommend if you too could get it at such a discounted price. read more
