I had an ulthera treatment twice and both times - same quite negative experience. First time in spring of 2012 and second time - October 2014. The place is disorganized which results in lower customer experience. Pre-treatment pictures were taken first time, but no post-treatment pictures. Second time neither pre- nor post-treatment pictures were taken. So no analysis of the treatment results can be done. I had chosen to take pain killers and I was told that if I come an hour before the procedure I would be given a topical anesthetic followed by a shot of painkillers. I was also told that a shot is more effective because it bypasses the stomach and goes directly to the blood. I was glad because the procedure first time was terribly painful. As I was waiting for a painkiller shop (30 min before my procedure) I was told that shots had not arrived in mail (even though in the morning I was told that I would be given a shot) and that I needed to take 3 or 4 tables orally. I did. Next day my stomach was in pain - I think I had two very strong pain killers they suggested as well as 2 or 3 tylenols that they also had given me. I had to take probiotics for the next few days to bring my stomach back in order. The procedure was very painful, I paid $2,800 and no one bothered to give a call next day to ask how I was doing: whether swelling or bruising had occurred, etc. For a place that has 4 or 5 idle receptionists who cannot even prepare a tea for a patient waiting for the painkillers to start working this is a very poor service. read more

Today I had one of the best facials ever from Heidi Beck at SkinSpirit in Mill Valley. She was extremely kind and informative throughout the entire session. The time spent with Ms Beck was relaxing and extremely beneficial. I had a meeting later in the day after my facial and people commented on how wonderful my skin appeared. Ali is my favorite aesthetician, she is very nurturing, yet thorough so you leave knowing that skin is squeaky clean and yet plumped and moisturized. While she will offer suggestions, she does not hard sell additional treatments and products which I appreciate. Absolutely love my new aesthetician, Heidi Beck... I found her based on excellent reviews posted on Yelp! and I'm so happy I trusted my instinct on this one. The location in Mill Valley is so perfect, tons of free parking and nicely tucked away off the main road. The staff was so warm and friendly upon my arrival and I felt very welcomed. I had a consultation with Heidi and instantly felt connected to her. She was very warm, friendly and knowledgeable! I left that consultation and booked with her for the following week (which was this past Monday). It was a gift that she had an opening so close to my consultation so I jumped on it! I experienced an incredible "signature facial" from Heidi! She exceeded my expectations! I was very relaxed the whole time. She was super informative about what the next steps were and what she was doing. My skin is absolutely glowing only 2 days post facial. I have received so many compliments already. Heidi recommended some excellent products to swap out of my skin care regimen and I love those as well. Skin Spirit has an excellent return policy so if you're not happy with a product, simply return it for a refund. I love that you can test it on your skin to make sure it's the best fit. Just confirms they stand behind their products and want the best thing for your skin. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I am super excited for my next appointment! I have very sensitive skin and had not had the best experience with facials UNTIL I started seeing Heidi a few years ago. She seriously works MAGIC. She knows what is best for my skin, and is very honest about what I should or shouldn't try with it. My skin is noticeably more clear, smooth, and evenly toned after every visit. In fact, after my last facial when I got home my Fiance asked what I had done differently because I looked so refreshed (he had no idea I'd gone to get one prior!) I too have followed RN LINDA BEHLA from salons in Marin to Walnut Creek. I am so happy they are in Strawberry! I have had amazing service and skin treatments her, from botox to skinceuticals. My skin looks much younger than it is, and I attribute it to her vigilance at keeping it healthy! I wasn't pushed into anything but was reminded, several times, to use SUNSCREEN. I went in for a Signature Facial--microdermabrasion & extractions--and while my skin undeniably feels & looks better, I am about to cancel my followup appointment & find another spa because I don't feel good about the overall experience. My aesthetician, Shawna, seemed awkward and uncomfortable with me to the point of being unwilling to engage. I found myself trying to guess what her problem might be: maybe she hasn't had a lot of clients who aren't regulars with this kind of skin care (aka have questions), or maybe she doesn't work much with men, or maybe she just has a problem with my being gay? Whatever the cause, she was not at all interested in helping me identify appropriate treatments for my skin issues, and was not able to be clear about why I might or might not choose any of the many serums and creams she gestured toward. (She also exfoliated so vigorously that the skin on my cheekbones and jaw cracked and bled a little the next day.) On top of that, the front desk staff was not particularly interested in making sure that I felt well served, but only in telling me to tip Shawna and book another appointment. I'm sad to say there was even a little eye-roll from the cashier when I asked Shawna to write down the application sequence she'd recommend for the products I ended up buying. I just didn't enjoy the whole event, and that's not how I want to feel after dropping $500. read more

LOVE this place! Thena is the best - so sweet and an expert at her craft! I have been to her 3x now for Botox/Dysport, but also for Restalyn for under eye. She puts it in the 'tear trough' I think it's called and it takes away bags/dark circles by adding volume. It looks super natural and subtle. She is also very gentle - it's never hurt once. She numbs with ointment then uses an ice balloon. Also I just saw Heather for an amazing facial. Am definitely going back to see her and get on a schedule for peels. Emme is amazing! I went to Skin Spirit with down about my skin, Emme listened to my frustrations over my battle with adult acne and recommended a microdermabrasion and a chemical peel treatment. Linda is the best. I've had 2 IPL treatments with her, and the pigmentation and freckles on my (Irish=sun damaged) face and chest lifted up to the surface of the skin after a couple of days, then fell off completely. She is gentle and skilled at knowing how much your skin can take. The zapping can feel funny at first but is not painful. I love this place! Finally went in for botox last week and I was impressed. My appointment was with Linda, recommended by a friend, and she was everything I had hoped she would be - friendly, professional and very willing to answer all my questions. I didn't even feel the injections and I'm a big baby. Prices were very reasonable, particularly in Marin. As soon as I save enough cash (so hubby doesn't know) I plan to return for some much needed sculptra to plump-up the sagging that has started to show in my face. I am in love with this place. Sheila is the manager and she is wonderful. This company has a policy of making sure they customer is always happy. I go for facials with Tierney once a month and I seriously have a girl crush on her. I am in the industry as well and can be super picky. The way she does extractions is AMAZING. She doesn't talk. She totally concentrates on your face and works it out. My skin is awesome. Where it was in when I first went in and where it is now....NIGHT AND DAY!!! I also do Botox and find all of the nurses to be great. My last session with Linda was exceptional though. I am 35 and always get guessed in my 20's. I know this is because of my relationship with Skin Spirit. I just started laser hair removal. Can't report about that yet, but I will tell you Sheila and Linda had a lot of discussion and really looked at what the best way to do it would be. I am a red head and have already had a failed attempt at it. It will cost more than some of the other "spas", but I swear, it is worth every penny. They will support you and make sure you are happy. They will never take your money, do a crappy job and then forget you exist. I use yelp all the time to find places, but I rarely take the time to write a review, however-- I felt it was necessary after my visit last week to the SkinSpirit in Mill Valley. I've been to a lot of "med spas" and had a lot of different experiences, and I am SO happy with my visit (Botox & LHR). The LHR was pretty normal--- the laser was a bit different. And she said that the hairs wouldn't necessarily singe off like they normally would. I'm a bit skeptical, but since they did SUCH an amazing job with the botox, I trust the LHR was good as well. Let me say, my life budget has completely changed after today. Though I love love love spending my extra cash on clothes, I will now be spending it at Skin Spirit. I just had the most amazing facial of my life from Alison Scherer at Skin Spirit. She is truly an artist. She is very knowledgeable about the skin and can take one look at your skin and create a custom facial exactly for your needs. I went in with dull lackluster skin and came out with a beautiful supple glow. That was over a week ago and my skin is still glowing.
