Hubby and I came here on a Wednesday evening for some takeout. I must note that this is during the COVID pandemic. Everyone had masks on. I've called in for takeout once about a year ago but this is my first time here inside the restaurant. It was clean and decorated nicely. I ordered a lobster roll combo with sweet potato fries. Hubby ordered a fried catfish dinner with coleslaw and collards. We also ordered hushpuppies and green beans. The catfish was perfectly fried. It was delicious! The coleslaw is house made and it was amazing. It had just enough tang. The green beans were ok. I don't care for collards but hubby loved his. My lobster roll was of a different kind. The lobster itself was very good. It was made with terragon and lemon. It was suppose to be on a brioche bun, it was, but the bun was very stale. This was a bit disappointing. The sweet potato fries were good. Even though my lobster roll was a little disappointing, I want to point out their food was overall amazingly delicious. I loved their catfish and cannot wait to come back. They offer fish tacos, fish sandwiches of all kind, shrimp, po boys and many sides. I really love that they are just across the street. Come here! I decided to check this place out while I was visiting VA Beach because I was craving something affordable yet delicious. The location I visited was very clean and organized. All the tables were clean and the server was nice. The menu is pretty straightforward, but if you have questions, ask! I tried Po boy sandwich (catfish and shrimps) with coleslaw. The portion per price was generous. I wish they have more non-fried option though. The catfish was thick and juicy and the shrimps were bigger than I expected. you can choose spicy level for your po boy. I wish Northern VA has this spot too!! I bet it will do well in NoVA area. Decided to try this place on an early Friday evening. It was pretty busy so I ordered it to go, but then ended up staying and eating since a table opened up. I ordered the Skrimp basket with a side of Mac and cheese and the flounder sandwich. The Skrimp basket comes with a side and a drink. There was a little wait for the food, but it was worth it because the food was fresh and hot. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was one of my flounder pieces tasted too fishy for me. I finally tried this place out. Honestly I was shocked at my bill. I ordered 2 carry out dinners..which I ended up spending about $31 for. I told the lady I wanted big pieces of fried fish & I decided to upgrade to the catfish instead of whiting & I got the fish and shrimp basket instead of the dinner. It came with one side and no hush puppies so I ordered the 6 pieces of hush puppies for $1 extra. When I got my catfish basket I was highly disappointed in the size of the fish. Felt more like a kids meal chicken nugget vs grown persons dinner. I went back and got the whiting sandwich for $5.99 and I didn't even touch my basket as that was a huge disappointment. I came here for the first time on a weekday afternoon. I decided on the crabmeat & skrimp Po' Boy (spicy). The sauce had a good flavor with just enough kick and the fries were perfectly crisp. I will say they didn't skimp on the shrimp/crab meat. Prices are fair, minimal wait time and staff was super friendly. It's a small location with not a lot of seating but I would consider this establishment quick eats so people are continually coming and going. For a place that spells "Shrimp", Skrimp, I should have kept my expectations a lot lower. The customer service - Mediocre at best. The girl behind the counter had a serious case of RBF. The college age kids in the kitchen area were all on their phones and seemed to be just hanging out, and kitchen area looked filthy. Food - sandwich ordered was the Skrimp and Catfish Po Boy Mitches Way. Bun was soggy and messy. "Skrimp" was not fresh and was possibly frozen and smelled old. The catfish was over cooked and again frozen not fresh. The lettuce was wilted and the sandwich tasted like nothing but jalapeños. The fries were soggy. The place seems to get good reviews, I guess I came in on a bad night. It was my first time here today and I was not disappointed! It's a small spot next to the Home Depot so I usually overlooked this area, but today I decided to swing by and I found it. I ordered the Mahi Mahi tacos and the fried okra and I really liked it. The fish was lightly battered and cooked nicely while the sauce was perfect for it (I ordered mild on the side). Decided to check this place out based on local reviews. Pulled up and found it in a strip mall next to Home Depot. Was definitely skeptical at this point. WOW were the reviews right! Had the shrimp and crab po boy. Some of the best friend shrimp I've EVER had (and I live friend shrimp!). The house-special garlic sauce was delish. Next time I'd ask for more. Fish was so light and flaky and not at all greasy. Fries were a touch lackluster but thats because we didn't eat them right away but they still had good flavor. I'm a fan of the franchise and was pleasantly surprised to see this location pop up right next to work! My first experience here was great - fast and friendly service and delicious and filling food. I always get the skrimp and catfish po'boy with spicy sauce and man oh man is it good. Their sauces are amazing! The spicy is spicy but in the it burns so good kinda way, not overwhelming. I also love that their bread on their po boys is always soft and yummy. Everyone was inquiring about my sandwich at work then went and got some a few a days later and came back wanting to give me an award for putting them on LOL it's really that good. Found this place on a whim. Was heading to Target on Military Hwy. and searched for restaurants and voila. The reviews were outstanding and I never would've tried this place otherwise. Glad I did. First, let me just say that I think the prices are super reasonable, especially for the portions. It's seafood and seafood isn't cheap. My family had a shrimp and haddock dinner, big flounder sandwich, fried shrimp basket, and shrimp po' boy. Fries, collards, and green beans as sides. The fried shrimp were nice and big, cooked perfectly and delicious. The haddock was great, and the big flounder sandwich was really good. The po' boy was different than what I expected, no lettuce, tomato, and mayo and we ordered the mild sauce which was too sweet for me. You probably wouldn't have given it a second thought, but I do not pass up Banana Pudding y'all. The pudding was thick and creamy with layers of Nilla wafers stacked on top of perfectly sliced bananas. I couldn't finish it but I made sure that it came with me when I left. Conveniently it was already in its to go cup. Overall I cannot say enough about this place. The dining area was clean, the drink line was maintained, the condiment and sauce area was stocked. Since they only did callin orders so I had to wait til line cleared. I ordered fish & shrimp dinner meal & whiting dinner meal. The menu stays that you would get 8 shrimps. Well that didn't happen only got 4 (& they were rubbery), the coleslaw was warm (like it had not been in a fridge at all), & to make it worse the fish for both meals was hard. You could tell just by looking that the fish was previously cooked then dropped again to "heat" it up again. The only items that were cooked fresh was the hushpuppies & fried okra.
