Sky nails is my new go to nail salon. I've been going down the street to Gaelic for years due to their super low prices. Sky nails has similar affordable pricing with a more relaxing, professional, and clean environment. Today was my first time at sky nails and I'll definitely return soon! The facility itself was great. Everything appeared clean and well kept. All of the equipment still appeared new and functioning. They had a great selection of colors which were neatly displayed on the wall, color coordinated by brand. I got a pedicure today, which was $22. The pedicure lasted a while, between 20-30 minutes! I'm so used to places rushing through my pedicure to get to the next client, it was so nice to actually be able to relax and enjoy it this time. They even use hot stones and oil during the pedicure, such a deal for only $22! The woman doing my nails took her time and thoroughly painted each nail and made sure to get every stray piece of paint off my skin. I will definitely be back for my next mani/pedi. read more

I've been coming to this salon for years I love the pedicure service, however the owners attitude is horrible. I'm leaving for a trip, I asked her how much for a full set she proceeded to tell me what I think is short is actually long. Then I asked can she show me she stated no I'm busy I have customers. Didn't love this place. My nail tech was nice, but otherwise the experience was underwhelming. The gel manicure price was still in the realm of reasonable, but it was more expensive than other manis I've gotten and the quality was a lot lower. I got a plain manicure (meaning just one color) and there is something I don't like about about every single finger. So 0/10 for quality. If I'm going to treat myself to a manicure, I also want to feel pampered and the atmosphere did not lend itself to that at all. There are a gazillion nail salons in Southie, so I will go elsewhere next time. Can pay with credit, but need cash for tips. read more

I've been looking for a new nail place close to my work. I turned to Yelp to help me with the selection process and stumbled upon this place... I believe my tech was named Kevin. I'm not really sure as he didn't introduce himself. He was pretty nice, checked in with me through out the service, and i was in and out in 90 mins for a gel manicure/pedicure. These are what got my two rating. The decor/ambiance- Old, dirty, and broken. Chairs at the manicure station looked like they were run over by a car, lop sided, and uncomfortable. The chair i was given was directly in front of the nail polish choosing area and people were reaching over me to select their colors. The pedicure- My feet are still really rough on the bottom and my toes chipped the day after i got them painted. Addtionally, in attempting to remove the in grown toe nail parts i was made to bleed and the toe nail was shaped very oddly. The big toes now each curve outward and look really weird. The massage was nothing to write home about. The gel manicure- There is not a common nail shape among my digits. All of my cuticles are peeling back and the polish has already chipped and it's not even been a week yet. The guy was genuinely nice and seemed to try to do a good job. The prices were pretty cheap. I just wish the mani/pedi lasted longer than a couple of days. On to the next one. read more

Kevin is awesome! He's attentive to detail and gave me a great pedicure! I liked that Sky has a deep selection of OPI nail polishes. Place is clean and prices are really competitive to the many nail shops on this block. Will def be back to see Kevin! read more

Went for mani pedi, made me bleed twice on aggressive cuticles cutting...basically a 20% chance of bleeding if you go there. Instruments sanitation is questionable... Bref, I will not go back. After 3 visits, not sure if I'll be returning. I had to change my stars because, on my second visit after only 6 days, I went to get another pedi and the ladies in San Francisco couldn't believe it-they told me it looks like it's been 3 weeks. Long story short, the basically didn't do that great of a job the 2nd and 3rd time. The paint job is sloppy and when they clean it up, it mixes acetone into the Polish, making it peel faster..... I can't compare it to a $60 spa pedicure, but come on, where can I get a good pedi place in Boston?! read more

Found Sky Nail & Spa through Yelp. The ratings are totally accurate. This place is awesome. My friend and I did not have an appointment and we were quickly helped and nicely greeted. Sophia did my nails and she did a fabulous job and did a flawless application. I showed her the color I wanted and how I wanted my nails shaped. The place was clean and friendly. During my nail application, the manager cane up to me to make sure I was happy with my service. The best thing....the price was very reasonable! Kevin is amazing!! I wanted to find a nail salon close to my home and so glad I found this place! I have been to a million other salons for gel Manicures and hands down Kevin is the best! I got the gel manicure from Him 3 weeks ago and he did an amazing job! It lasted for 3 weeks! He asks you constantly throughout the manicure if you like it (and not in an annoying way lol). 5 stars plus plus plus. I was visiting my daughter, who is working in Boston, and we both needed shellac manicures. This is why I love love yelp! We found this place on yelp! It was not too far from my hotel, We read the reviews and decided to try it out. We were walkins. There were 3 people working, one was Kevin (#lovehim). We were in Boston on Veterans weekend- and my nails look as good today as they did when I walked out of this place. I have NEVER had a shellac last this long -and still look this good. Ever. The young girl did a great job on my daughters manicure and it is equally as long lasting. I had the pleasure of having Kevin give my manicure. There were 2 young girls being worked on when we got there. They were very rude and immature. One was having a loud, dramatic cellphone "conversation " with her dad that she continued on with her friend after the call ended. The other tortured the staff over the shape of her nails- they were having sets done in that pointy nail look and then nail designs painted on afterwards. They were high school aged and quite obnoxious! The staff handled them with kindness and professionalism (even tho they were on my very last nerve!). I will definitely go back ! Stumbled upon this spot out of frustration because I couldn't find parking at my usual nail salon. I went in and figured why not?! I was greeted and asked to choose my colors (as usual). I then sat for the BEST, most thorough pedicure I've received in the longest. Henry was the exceptional being I met that day and have made sure to book with every time after. I also got a dip manicure by Nancy and I equally have no complaints. She pays attention to detail and takes her time all while still finishing fast. Great combo ;) read more

The closeness of this place makes me want to like them more, but they've let me down multiple times. The decor is outdated, it has a stronger than average chemical smell, the pedi chairs are worn down and much of the staff seems to not know what they're doing. It takes far too long, and the last time I went my feet where pulled in a bunch of different directions and scrubbed rather brutally, then of course the technician was far too gentle during the massage. This has happened more than once, so I will not be returning. There was also that one time they refused to take me because they said they were closing early. The cheapness is nice, but you're getting what you pay for. I would rather take a journey to Wendy's Nails or Minilux and get proper service. read more

Okay, so I would give this place 5 stars but I absolutely cannot based on 1 experience I had here. I have had my nails done here 4-5 times and continue to go back whenever I want to get a mani/pedi. However, not only have I had the best manicure I have ever had here, I have also had the absolute WORST manicure I have ever had here. One woman who did my nails ripped through my cuticles so aggressively that 4/10 fingers bled... pretty badly. And a few days later, all of my fingers looks gross with my cuticles peeling due to them being cut so low. So I don't not recommend going here, but make sure you request one of the younger twin girls (I think they are twins since they look exactly alike) or the one guy who works there. Sky nails is pretty okay. I likely will not go back. My gel manicure from Sky lasted longer than most. Unfortunately, it did not look great from the get go - but it sure stayed on my nails. The three star rating comes from the thorough job on my toenails and complete sham on my nails. I had to ask my nail tech several times to even out my nails, she did not ask me if I wanted them cut or filed, nor did she ask for a shape. If I stayed quiet I would have had 6 square and 4 round nails of varying lengths - which is not how I entered the salon. As a result, I felt my nail tech was annoyed with me and I ended up with gel polish all over my cuticles and fingertips. read more

I discovered sky nails 2 years ago and to this day can't imagine going anywhere else. They are so clean, so nice and most importantly everyone does an amazing job. if i could give this place 0 stars, i definitely would. Worst nail place i've EVER been too. i don't even know why i keep going. i asked for the basic trend that's going around-lime green polish- i ask for it in gel and she starts to apply a regular color to my acrylic. when i try to correct her before she keeps going she then asks me if i'm the one w a nail certificate, which was clearly rude . she puts my nails under the light and make me put them in 4 times (each hand). i gave her a two dollar tip because she still did her job (barely) and totally regret it. as soon as i leave the establishment i seek that my nail color is PEELING ! 2 coats of gel, that has been dried FOUR TIMES IS PEELING ? she made me pay 50 dollars btw. read more

I absolutely love Sky Nail. I do dip powder/SNS with Tina and she does an excellent job. It's been hard to find dip in Boston and I stumbled upon Sky nails and haven't gone back since. Very happy with this place! This is the first time I've had my nails done in two years and I'm very pleased. I came in on a slow Monday afternoon and was helped immediately. I got a gel mani and a regular pedi. The gentleman who serviced me was very nice. Was not rough on my feet at all and I'm very ticklish!!! He took his time and did and amazing job and I'm very pleased with my gel mani!!! After getting it done so far it's survived washing my dog and doing other chores around the house immediately after!!! Will consider coming back in a few weeks!!! Thank you sooo much!!! read more

On March 1st, I came here for a gel mani and a regular pedi. It's now March 18th. After 17 days on vacation, I'm ECSTATIC to report that my gel mani is *still* intact. Yay for good gel manis!! I always walk out with amazing nails and if anything goes wrong, they are so accommodating when you come back! If you want diamond encrusted chairs in a nail salon, go to Dubai. Overall I had a pretty good experience at Sky nails. Only reason for 4 not 5 stars was a few bumps and that the entire process took VERY long. Was in the salon for more then 2 hours for a pedicure and gel manicure. A friend and I went in several nail salons along Broadway that were packed before stumbling on Sky Nails which only had a 10 minute wait for a pedicure. We gladly waited and were seated fairly quickly. Our tubs were turned on to fill with water. My friends was scorching hot water she could not keep her feet in and mine was ice cold. When a nail tech noticed our concern for the temperature she adjusted. The massage chair remote didn't work on my chair and my nail tech switched it for me. From there everything went smoothly and I then received one of the best pedicures ever. The man that did mine did a great job with the spa experience. My manicure was also done nicely.
