I don't like giving one star because someone did work, but after the salon owner decided to argue with me about her poorly applied shellac, I'm leaving one star. After expressing my concerns about my nails, she tried to "fix them" and this was the result. The first coat barely covered my entire nail and then she went back over them and slapped some shellac all over my cuticles. I ended up going down the street to Venus spa nails and had them fixed properly. She embarrassed me in front of the entire salon, I had to tell her to stop yelling at me. After looking at more reviews, this is not the first time someone has done sloppy work, seems to me that there is just a bad apple in the salon. I unfortunately did not get her name but she's an older lady who claimed to be the salon owner? Also, I asked for another nail tech to fix it and she said everyone was busy. The technician barely touched my cuticles. She was clumsy with the tools and barely scrubbed my feet. She had her head down napping when I arrived and yawned throughout service. I did not feel cared for, I wanted to grab the tools out of her hand and do it myself. She kept going to one corner of my big toe and picking at it until it hurt. First and last time here. This salon is by far one of the best in northern Kentucky! Their prices are competitive with other nail salons and they have a very extensive services menu. My mom and I went in to try the SNS sip powder and we are both extremely happy with the results! The nail technicians that did our manicures were both extremely nice, detail oriented, conversational and funny! They both did a wonderful job. Came in for a fill and pedicure. This wasn't the first time I've tried this place for a pedicure but definitely the deciding factor in why I won't be back. Nicked my cuticles deep a few times and polish looks really amateur. I didn't even want the fill, just decided to pay and go. Very friendly service here with quality work. I got a gel manicure. The gel polish looks flawless and is holding up well. What I was most impressed with was how well my manicurist cleaned up my cuticles and how detailed she was. My nails look great. Also, they had the cutest golden retriever puppy here as a shop dog. He was well behaved and brought joy to the customers as they waited or had their nails done. I would definitely recommend Sky Nails to a friend. read more

I hesitated to write this but realized it's only fair to share this so the salon can take the feedback to help them improve. I went in for a manicure and pedicure last week which took over 2.5 hours due to issues with the manicure. The nail tech was applying such thin and uneven coats that it was causing lots of layering issues and the nail polish was transparent in some places but solid in others. At the end, we had to remove some of the shellac and start all over because it was so terrible. Not just that, but it was all around my nail bed, not only on my nails but stuck to my skin and still has not come off. The shellac polish started peeling not even 5 days after my manicure. I think this was due to the fact that he was REALLY STINGY with the top coat application, he only dipped the brush into the top coat once and used it to apply onto all 5 of my nails and I have large hands. This was definitely not enough but I'm not the confrontational type so I sat quietly and trusted that he knew what he was doing. I'm really upset about the amount of money I spent for a pretty terrible and uneven looking manicure that is already chipping. I hope they use this feedback for quality improvement and work with the nail tech on his nail polish application techniques. My search for a quality nail salon in NKY continues! read more

I went here last minute because they were open late and I needed to get my nails done before a job interview, I had to wait a very long time to get my nails done. I was not informed that they would be HAND PAINTING my French tip.......... which took and extra 30mins, had I known this i wouldn't have gotten a French tip. I was leaving for Wisconsin the next morning and I didn't have time to sit there and for two hours! In the end my nails looked OK not great, but I would not go back here. read more

If the had zerp stars, that's what they would have been given. I have been going here for 4 years and I always have good service. They always say, "If ya not right, come back and we'll redo them. No charge." Well I can officially tell you that is a bold face LIE. I don't ever do bad reviews. However, I got them done on Saturday. They shape was completely wrong, they were too long. They just weren't what I wanted. I called today and told them. Came in and the OWNER did my nails. I told her exactly what the issue was and she started soaking them off. After about 10 minutes she said next time we can file them down. I pick out polish. I pick a different color because I couldn't find the color I did that Saturday. I told her this. She didn't say a thing. after she was done, I went to pay. She charged me regular price! I was a little flustered so I paid. When I got home I called and she acted like she couldn't understand what I was saying. Saying it was my fault because they were soaked off and the color was changed. This is the owner, mind you. She passed me to two other people. they repeated what she said. Refused To refund it or offer the next time no charge. Refused. between Saturday and today, I spent 90$ on nails and 16.50$ in tip. I was NEVER go there again. They absolutely do not care if the customer is happy with their nails. They care aboutdollar. read more

I went with my disabled mom and was told a 25 or 30 minute wait. It turned into a 45 minute wait as I watched the girls working crushing on the young men that came in for pedi/Manis. As one girl finished she went and started flirting rather than getting us back and oh my the language she used. I knew I wasn't in a quality nail salon. I've toured all the different nail salons in the Florence area searching for the best one, and this is it!! Seriously. They have the best service and best prices. Everyone here is super friendly and they always do a great job on my nails. They have you basic manicure, pedicure, gel polishes, eyebrow/lip waxing, and more. If you prefer your own tools, they have a full shelf to keep all their different clients separate, so you aren't using ones everyone else uses. However, I don't do this, they are super clean and I have no concerns over their sterilization of their tools. They have busy times, but they always accept walk-ins. If you're worried about time you can call ahead and schedule an appointment. They also have a child's size pedicure so you can treat your children while you are there! read more

I'm giving this place a 2 star review strictly because of how nice the nail lady was, very sweet and kept up with a good conversation. However, the nails turned out horrendous. I got a full set and they turned out awful, I would of taken a picture but I went and got them removed the following day. Paid $60 including the tip and I wanted to cry. Didn't even put on a top coat on the nails. I know the girl that did my nails was the owners daughter, I think she was in town from college and just doing it for spare cash, not entirely sure but that's what I picked up from it. I'm quite positive I've just received the best pedicure I've ever had! I walked in to no wait, and an extremely friendly and sweet staff who was accommodating and welcoming. I got sat and started right away, and the nail tech was so detailed, careful, and wonderful. I was shocked when I looked down, my toes look and feel amazing! A crowd of people started streaming in while I sat, and all were attended to with a friendly smile and a welcome wave. I really enjoy this nail salon. It is close to work, so I am able to go on my lunch and get my nails done. I have also been after work (around 5 o'clock or so) and usually get right in. There may have been two or three times where I had to wait to get my nails done, but I would say maybe a five minute wait tops. I absolutely love Rose, but I have had m y nails done by almost everyone else there and I like them too. Rose just does a PERFECT job and she is super friendly. I love that they make conversation with you too and don't just sit there speechless. I find the silence can be kind of awkward sometimes. I go every 2-3 weeks and get shellac done and sometimes I will get a manicure if I am really feeling like my nails need it. It isn't too expensive - and for the quality of their work, I say it is well worth it. You can also have a spot for your own manicure tools too, so that you don't have to have them use the ones they use on everyone else. I personally don't have one, but hey - if you are into that, it's available. (Not sure how much it costs, but I do know that there is a fee for this.....) They have quite a few pedicure chairs too, which is nice - So you don't have to wait. I actually look forward to coming here and getting my nails done. They have sooo many colors to choose from if you get shellac. They kind of lack on the regular polish colors, but they still have quite a few to pick from. Overall, this place is my fave when it comes to getting my nails done. They accept walk-ins, but you can make an appointment too!! read more

FYI if you have gift certificates from Sky Nails the NEW OWNERS WILL NOT HONOR THEM....in other words the new Sky Nails are going to screw you if you have gift certificates. I bought my wife gift certificates this year for birthday, mothers day and anniversaries every year and was denied the use of $50 worth today 12/30/2017. My friend & I went to Sky Nails last night as a recommendation from a family member. As first time customers, and after all the "rave reviews," we were excited for a nice girl's night out & a relaxing pedicure. Our reservation was for 6:30 pm. We were greeted at the door, instructed to pick out our colors, and escorted to the Spa pedicure seats in the back. While we were sitting there, we noticed the nail techs working diligently on the clients sitting next to us...this was going to be an enjoyable experience...Or so we thought. 40 minutes into our appointment time & still NO ONE had come to help us. I thought that's what you reserve an appointment for...is to have a service done at a certain time. When they FINALLY got our pedicures underway, it was only a matter of minutes before they were finished. The time & dedication they gave the other clients obviously didn't apply to us...1st time customers!!!! One gentleman actually started working on a walk-in customer BEFORE us...and he knew we had been waiting for a long time! That's not customer service to me. I find it humerous because they treated other clients like gold (they must be regulars), but they treat potential clients like they don't matter. We will definitely NOT be going back to Sky Nails!!! Poor customer service & a very poor job on the pedicure. A 5-year old could have done a better job on my toes!! DON'T waste your time, engery, & money...It's a $25 pedicure for a reason...it's cheap and poorly done!! read more

Wonderful! Walk in. No wait. Buffed very, very thick callouses off my feet with a $45 Deluxe Pedicure that included a refreshing sweet mint oil leg massage after a scrub treatment. Used a foot prop without me even needing to ask. Clean, well-decorated interior with nice new and clean massage chair. Polite accomodating family staff. I found my new nail spa home. My feet feel great and tingle with better circulation today. read more

I recently took my mother there for mothers day for mani pedis her first experience. It started out great and turned to crap very fast. When i came in i signed in to get a cut down fill and re color on my acrylics. Little did i know they soaked my acrylics off while i thought they were soaking off my gel polish. By the time i realized this it was to late. They insisted on putting tips on my mother that she said no to. They talked me into gel on toes and dip on nails so my nails and toes do not match. The kicker was a female employee and male employee started screaming at each other while the male was doing my mothers nails. The whole experience was ludicrous. So i proceed to pay the bill and just leave and it was $230.00 dollars i about died. I contacted them regarding my awful service and they told me my words were wrong blew me off and didnt bother to make it right. So beware if you go there. I will never be back.... read more
