First time in OCMD - visiting from New Jersey. Let me start with this, from what we (as a family) tried overall, this was BY FAR, the favorite of us all! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The whole place has a good vibe and a great ambiance indoor and specially outdoor, not even the "stormy weather" stopped the good vibes or the crowd whatsoever, pretty full inside and outside when we arrived (still got sat down in minutes, pretty amazing).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Big tables with space for us and all the amazing food and servers/bussers were almost always back and forth, even though we didn't always have our server closer, someone with help as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered sodas for the kids and 2 cocktails for the adults, their crush cocktail with orange and pineapple was perfect and very well balanced! For the food, MY OH MY, we've been craving the steamers for a while now and let me tell you, this place lived up to expectations! The mixed seafood steamer (with the crabs and shrimp, etc) was pretty much perfect and the crawfish steamer which the wife wanted to try (and I was a little skeptical about) made me swallow my own thoughts, everything was cooked and seasoned TO PERFECTION! As good food people that I am (we all are as a family honestly), I decided I wanted to try one last meal and went for the shrimp (skewer) scampi... never had a sauce as good as this one and the shrimp was not only cooked to perfection, it came with 10 total, which was AMAZING! Check was little under 200$ with tip already which I think it was pretty awesome as well since we all ate GREAT seafood. Would recommend this place and would/will definitely go or come back. During a long weekend in Ocean City, MD we visited this popular restaurant for dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was very busy, primarily with families because the establishment has a large playground for children.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated out on the deck overlooking the bay where there was the start of a very nice sunset.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter was very nice and since it was so busy I gave him our entire order. We got a house salad and I ordered the Filet and my wife the Scallops but we planned to share these entrees. The salad was nice and crisp wth carrots and cucumbers. The Filet came with mashed potatoes and green beans. The steak was cooked perfectly, seasoned well and was delicious. The Scallops came with crab orzo and was equally delicious. I think the caprese salad was crazy disappointing for $15, you get two small slices of cheese and half a large tomato. The basil was strewn in shreds across it in a sad presentation. The burger was decent and the fries were good. The appetizers were good and the Miami Vice drinks were nice and refreshing. The server was very nice and did well managing our large party. It also started raining heavily while we were there and we saw a lot of tables that were seated outdoors has quite a bit of trouble getting relocated. It was nice that they had a small playground for kids right outside and I did enjoy the mini pitchers for the water beverages. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We always enjoy the ambiance at Ropewalk.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We normally sit outside but opted for inside this time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was prompt and kind. She was very helpful with anything we needed. I enjoyed the crabcake egg rolls and my scallops were good. My kids liked their meals and my husband got wings (not pictured) that won an award from a food competition in OC. He said they were great. My brother in law enjoyed his crawfish and showed me how to pick them. The only thing I wish could have been better was the Caprese salad. The tomatoes weren't ripe and there was no basil on them. There were tiny pieces of basil sprinkled but it would have been nice to get some large leaves. Surprised to get seated Right away which was a nice surprise. Started off with spicy Thai shrimp. Very flavorful. Variety of meals from grilled chicken sandwiches (a bit dry to be honest) a steamed pot which was spot on. The. God balanced out the things we would have liked better. Stopped into Ropewalk during off season while they were having their 1/2 off entrees! I love how many deals there are during the off season and I would definitely say were ate pretty good here! My halibut entree was $20 and my boyfriend's 2 crabcakes were $25! The halibut would've been great but it was severely overcooked to the point it was hard and dry. Ropewalk was okay. When we went it was not very busy and our food came out pretty quickly. We wanted to sit outside for a nice view, but our seats weren't that great. My son ordered steak medium and it was well done. The food wasn't bad but didn't blow us away for the price. Food was alright (not worth the cost though) but the racism in this establishment was painfully obvious. Bus boys were all black men while the servers were all white men and women, along with a Ronald Regan statue and merchandise in the store make it clear who this restaurant is catered towards. We stopped into Ropewalk pretty late in the evening, probably about an hour before closing, so it wasn't busy at all. Honestly, that worked in our favor because it had a laid-back, almost locals-only kind of feel, which was perfect for what we wanted--a relaxing nightcap before calling it a night. The bartender was great. I don't remember his name, but he was friendly, welcoming, and didn't make us feel rushed even though we came in so close to closing. He made some really solid drinks, too. I went with their coconut freeze, and he was kind enough to adjust it for me and make it without lime, which I really appreciated since not every place is that accommodating. It was creamy, tropical, and exactly the kind of drink you want at the beach. My friend tried the red, white, and blue drink that came with a firecracker popsicle--super fun presentation and surprisingly really good. Definitely the kind of cocktail that makes you feel like you're on vacation. We didn't get to try the food since the kitchen had already closed by the time we got there, but that was our own fault for coming in so late. From the look of the menu, though, there are definitely things I want to come back for. Ropewalk has the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to spend a little more time there, whether you're eating, drinking, or both. All in all, it ended up being a perfect spot for a late-night drink, and I'm already looking forward to going back earlier in the evening so we can give the food a try. Kristin still showed she wasn't gonna change her serving experience with how busy she clearly was - and was very sweet while taking care of us. Took our orders promptly , food was out within 5 minutes , finished and back out to catch the remainder of the Orioles game. Got the rockfish tacos with the chips, wasn't mind blowing but was a decent price and it was definitely tasty and I finished it all. Wish I got the waffle fries instead, those were great. Both seem like they came from Costco , LOL , but hey I love Costco products and the food was cheap enough given the location. What started off as a quick dinner after a long drive became our go-to spot for our entire stay in ocean city. We even designated a server who was an absolute cutieeee (Louis). The crab stuffed eggroll app and they wings were our go-to everytime. Service: ok. The server was friendly and informative but the restaurant is empty and we asked for different table, and was declined with the reason of rsvp. It's hard to believe as it's 8:45 when we got there. Food: bada bing shrimp is a must try. So flavorful and plenty of shrimp compared with price. Crab egg rolls is also delicious with lots of crab meat. Crab chowder is tasteful as well. I was full after appetizers and could not try their main dishes. We stopped bu Ropewak in OC for lunch during our Fourth of July getaway. The atmosphere was fun and festive, and the food was a mix of hits and misses. I had the crab cake, and it was really good-definitely the highlight of my meal! We also ordered the calamari, which was tasty, and I enjoyed a mango margarita that was refreshing and delicious. My daughter had the shrimp o, which unfortunately she didn't like. We also tried the fish bowl slushee made with grape juice-great in theory but not so great in taste. We ended up tossing it after just one sip. Customer service was ok, but honestly could have been better. Nothing major, just not as attentive or warm as we hoped for, especially during a busy holiday weekend. This place is great. We have come every year for the last 5 on vacation. Great kids menu, great playground while you wait. Quick and good drinks at the bar. Excellent menus and food. I cannot say I've had a bad meal here. The outside seating is great, even though I prefer inside, inside is comfortable too. They are always busy, which is always a good sign, but the consistency for me is what keeps us coming back. I had Cajun catfish this year and it was fantastic...we returned 4 days later and I HAD to order it again! Came here a few years ago on our last trip to Ocean City and fell in love with this restaurant. Came back and it was still just as amazing! The food is delicious and has great portions. This place was everything we were looking for in terms of easy, casual dining at the beach with good food, rum drinks, and a great ocean and sunset view on the bayside. We only waited for about 20 min which wasn't bad given the crowds Memorial Day weekend and they seemed very efficient. Good spot to have a drink at the outdoor bar while you wait. The crab stuffed halibut was the clear winner and would love to have that again soon. The scallops and orzo were also great. Mac and cheese was a bit dense but good. And fireworks on summer Saturdays at 9:45pm topped off a great evening. Highly recommend for a summer night at the beach. read more

This was a solid dining experience. We were looking for low key food options higher up costal highway and this fit the bill. It was slow on a Friday night, but started to pick up a bit after 10pm surprisingly. The service was good and I enjoyed my food--- the jerk chicken was not jerk chicken (which I didn't expect it to be), but it had a good flavor. We have been to ropewalk many times. It is by far my kids favorite place. It is probably the best beach ambiance restaurant in ocean city. It has the kids play ground, beach bar with tropical drinks, bands, fire pits, tikis, and more. The food is very dependent on what you order if it's good. The tacos and fried food are always good, although I wish they did something to the tortilla for the tacos. The salads feel cheap and light for what you get, so I generally steer clear of those. My kids always LOVE their meals. The kids menu is just done right. The service is also quick. If you're with kids it's perfect. If you are just on a date night or with adult family, I would feel rushed. My assessment, I'm here to late night party with the good drinks or to keep my kids entertained while I enjoy an ok meal. read more

They stopped playing Incubus in the middle of a song to play "God bless the USA" at full volume. It all felt very forced. Place gives off nationalist, creepy vibes. It's hard to explain without coming off ranty but you'll see what I mean, if you ever go. Objectively speaking, the service is fine. Staff is friendly. Outdoor seating is nice with TVs, cover, and some firepits. The food, however, is quite mediocre. The playground is nice to entertain the kids (you can also find playgrounds at Tailchasers, Fishtales, Da Lazy Lizard, Dead Freddies, and Higgins). Out of all the restaurants with a playground, Ropewalk is the worst. Will we be back? Possibly. But only in the situation, where we, as parents, are tired and don't want to cook. We want the kids to be entertained and the other restaurants with a playground have too long of a wait. I will personally order lightly here and actually eat a dinner when the kids are in bed, though. read more

Mind you, our food was plated and ready to be served. They told us we could not eat here, and if we had to take the food to go, but that they would not be able to seat us because of reservations. No umbrella, no brainstorming to divide us at smaller tables, no compensation on drinks or apps that we had paid for, no nothing. :( read more

The food? Well, the steamer pot was excellent with shrimp, corn, sausage and more. The steak wasn't that good. It was fairly small and semi-tough. No reason not to go back. I just won't order steak. Nice beer selection and fancy cocktails. (August 2025) Several years ago, my wife and I had dinner at the Bethany Beach location. All I remember is that it was a positive experience. Fast forward to earlier tonight. My wife and I came here after (Saturday) church. We arrived a little after 5:00 pm, and the place is already packed. We were very fortunate that there is an additional parking lot and we found a spot. For dinner, we both ordered the McFaul single platter ($31 each). I was fine with the sides it comes with, which is the green beans and dirty rice. My wife substituted both sides for coleslaw and mashed potatoes. That way, we get to try four different sides. For drinks, we asked about the ice tea and our server assured us it was fresh brewed (a.k.a. not from the soda machine). Our dinners came within seven minutes! Yes, within seven minutes. Everything was fantastic, including our server and runner. I hope we make a return trip as I saw other patrons' plates and want to also try them. read more

Stopped by here for the first time on a rainy Sunday afternoon. We thought we'd catch a week 1 NFL game while we waited out the rain, and this place didn't disappoint. The greeter thoughtfully set us up in front of the TV showing the game we were hoping to watch, and our server had cold drinks in our hands quickly.
