    Four ways - to go.

1949 and some Greek dude in Cincinnati starts Skyline Chili. I hadn't realized that the Greeks are chili makers, they like lemons too much and this stuff has spaghetti noodles inside. I heard about the noodles but I didn't see it working in the chili, so I scratched at my head and wondered a bit then I went to check it out. Then It Couldn't Happen Here (Sinclair Lewis) happened, it was in my clutches and I couldn't put it down so I sent a minion to pick it up and he's asking me "how many ways"? and I've no friggin clue what he's asking me about. It's akin to the Waffle House sounding options of One Way All the way up to Five Ways, it's about adding onions or beans and cheese and such. but more on that later. I lived just over the Ohio River in Kentucky (Covington), they had a weird smokey spaghetti chili, it was because "it's the South" but it's actually not, it's the Midwest, a Southern Living Classic they said, "scuttlebutt" I say. Mustard on watermelon, potato salad in gumbo, those cowpokes do some weird combinations I tell ya - but to each his own. For me, I didn't enjoy the concoction of textures, the chili gravy was very wet and had no foothold to hang on to the sauce/gravy of the chili. I'm not a huge traditionalist, but ground meat, beans, celery, garlic and spices are the basics and I'm not adversity slipping a wildcard or two into the mix but the spaghetti just doesn't fit for me. The shredded cheese was waxy to me and didn't (or couldn't) melt at all, but this was a takeout order so no penalty. Oyster crackers on the side didn't make sense because they're quite dry, sorta like the cheese, but once I to the sauce/gravy they become mush.

Came in on a Saturday afternoon I expected more of a fast casual experience, but got seated with a server, ok fine. Server was excellent, no complaints there The food is incredibly mediocre and extremely expensive for what you get. I took my wife and mother in-law to eat lunch. We got 6 hot dogs (had to order more because they are super small dogs, only a couple inches at most), a chili 4 ways, 3 sodas and a dessert and after tipping I paid like $62. I will not be back. This is fast food attempted to be promoted as upscale.

I finally got to try this restaurant after hearing all about it for years. Food and service are amazingly good. I need to buy some of their canned chili for home since I don't live that close to Lakewood Ranch. But, when I get the chance, I plan on getting back to this location to try the hot dogs and\or baked potatoes.

Great food and service. Reminds me of home anytime I'm visiting. If you know, you know.

Home away from home! As an Ohioan skyline has a Home hearty feel to it. I took my date to have her try a cheese Coney for the first time last week. If you've never been to a skyline chili, be prepared! It's not the same chili you get from Wendy's. You will never have a bowl of just their chili, that is a Deathwish! You will have a sweet, saucy taste added to either a hotdog and or pasta, all of this is loaded with cheese, and it is quite the experience! This crew was amazing! 9.8! Food is always a 10! Can't wait to go back! Who Dey and thank you! Scale system 10/10 would be what I want for my last meal 9.9-9.3 driving out of my way to get this 9.2-8.0 like the place and would go back 7.9-7.0 I would come here again if it were presented and don't have anything bad to say 6.9 and below - thanks but no thanks after try one

I was introduced to Skyline chili and couple of years ago. I've visited it a couple times. The food is consistent and on point to the skyline chili brand. For those who cannot get with the special flavors of the chili, don't go. For those of us who enjoy it we will continue to support the restaurant

Worst chilli I've ever tasted. The herbs/spices they use are way too overpowering (cumin, bay leaves, and cinnamon).

Both came with a kale and quinoa salad which was refreshing with a hint of heat. A+. Unfortunately the ribeye initially was overdone. My partner ordered medium rare, and although the steak was flavorful, there was no pink in sight and it was slightly tough. After a few minutes, when our server checked in, we let him know, a manager came over soon after, and he said he would have it redone. It took longer than expected, and the other two of us were done eating before it arrived. In fact, I was panicked that the steak would again be overdone as some time had passed, and I said that to the server. But the steak was perfectly done when it arrived. To make up for the lateness, the manager offered us a dessert. We had the key lime and it was amazing. Surprisingly but appreciatively we were comped the steak. They made it right and that is important. Service was good. I did run out of water a few times. My only real complaint there was the server should have asked us to cut into the steak right away. I wish all restaurants did this. This is our second time here. We were here last year and had a great meal then as well. We will be back.

There were at least three hostesses/waiters/tresses greeting us at the door. It's more of an adult environment. Very nice! We ordered an app, the cornbread, their claim to fame. And it certainly was fantastic!!! I had the cowboy salad. It was all chopped up just how I like my salads. Perfect amount of ingredients, they didn't skimp! The only issue, and I could have asked for more, was they should bring a small side of dressing when they bring the salads out. Regardless the salad was yummy! The prices were steep but not any more than you would expect to pay in an upscale restaurant, $23. And, what I appreciated was they DO NOT INCLUDE AN AUTO GRATUITY! YAY!!! Overall the experience was outstanding; environment was beautiful, service was good, food was delicious. We will be back, many times I'm sure!

A PA person having a cheesesteak in FL). I judge the bread first. Took one bite and my husband said, this bread HAS to be from DE or Philly. Sure enough, the bread dough is flown in from Philly! The meat was plentiful and delicious. If you want a REAL cheesesteak come here!!! We also tried the meatball appetizer. I asked the owner (Anthony) about them because they were just like my friend's Italian mom's meatballs. Tender and obviously not fried. The real kind. The last item we tried was the bolognese. Amazing. Good meat, not cheap junk like so many fake Italian places serve. The gravy has an ever so slight touch of spice to it...(?red pepper flakes, Anthony?) just like NJ Italian. So. Yes, you can get legit Italian food and a really good cheesesteak here! We did not try the pizza, but it looked like good thin crust pizza. Next time. Thank you Anthony for an excellent meal and Claudia for taking care of us. Go Birds!

Wish I could speak about the entire menu but I always get the same thing....beef cheesesteak! The chicken cheesesteak is also excellent in the bites I've stolen. The beef cheesesteak is the best I've had outside of Philadelphia. The bread is from Philly. (Pro tip: if the bread is not from Philly don't bother ordering the Philly cheesesteak). The owner is from Philly & brought his passion for his favorite Philly cheesesteaks that he grew up eating with him to Sarasota. I travel to Sarasota frequently to visit family & always make plans to go here. My family has raved about other dishes but for me the order is simple....beef Philly cheesesteak with "side" Caesar salad (which is large and absolutely fantastic as well). Until the next time....
