I'd live here if I could!!! The menu is unique and you can build practically anything you'd want. I enjoy putting eggs, garlic and bacon all in one like a breakfast basket, building my own salads, and of course adding killer combos to a mac-n-cheese. The owners add a lot of flair to the ambiance by hanging their own created art work along with funky decorations throughout the walls of the building, the stained glass windows are beautiful! The backyard is large and kept well with log benches around a wood fire pit. They have music every weekend and some really great bands frequent the stage on occasion. This is such a nice place! This place has some great ambience with really retro light fixtures, a fireplace nook and a stained glass wall. Notable things we ate were the grit cake, bbq sampler and a Moroccan coffee. Everything was good but I'm from the south so I prefer the bbq at home as that's just a personal preference! We were excited to try this place, but sadly disappointed. We showed up for lunch on a Saturday (and by lunch I mean around 1:30pm.) You would think that they would have enough staff on a Saturday late afternoon lunch shift - NOPE - they had a hostess, 2 bar tenders and a waitress. We ordered drinks at the bar while we waited to be seated. There was only one other couple waiting. When we finally got sat outside, we were forgotten about. The area they sat us in was not shaded and it was unbelievably hot. We asked to move to a shaded table since only 1/4 of the outside seating was taken and all these tables in the shade were prepped and ready to go. We were told no because that wasn't her area. What? You're the only waitress, isn't all of this your area? If you are going to make people wait because you can't handle the tables you have, wouldn't you want them to be comfortable? After us a group of 30 walked in. They waited forever for the staff to put tables together. They explained purposefully came after the rush to get service. To bad that no one was getting service that day. Anyway, the menu is A la carte - yes you are paying $13 for a grilled chicken breast and no sides. The food was edible, but nothing I would come back for. I could grill better in my own back yard sitting in the shade next to my fire-pit. If you are going to come here - come for the atmosphere during a live band. Eat before you come and order a drink with a basket of fries. read more

I'm super disappointed because of the great reviews. Not only did it take over an hour to get our food, which was cold. Literally, all of our food was cold. They also got our order wrong, and didn't offer to correct it for us. Our waiter, Matt, came and checked on us and apologized about the wait. We weren't upset at all with Matt. The manager also came and made sure we were okay. We let her know our food was cold and the wait was insane and all she said was that she should have let us know it was going to be that long. On top of all this, we asked to split our check, kindly, Matt did so. However, they put a 20% gratuity to each of our checks. We paid extra for a crazy wait, wrong and cold food. If you want to get ripped off with half way decent food. Head this way! read more

You really can't go wrong with any food / drink combo on their menu, but us insiders know that they have the best Mac & Cheese you'll ever taste, and you'll be crazy not to order their garlic fries. Definitely a great place to stop when driving back down from Mt. Hood or Lolo Pass after a long days hike. I want so very badly to love this place. In fact, if they kept the food quality, and changed EVERY THING else, I easily could. Let me begin with the first time we came in, when we were staying in a cabin just down the road from Skyway, and had seen that Yelp had given a wonderful review, so we came later in the evening, and stood in the doorway. For about fifteen minutes. Ignored. No, we didn't just stand there unnoticed. We were simply ignored. So we left. In the summertime a few months later, we were camping at our favorite place out near McNeil, and had been hiking all day with our dogs, so we called Skyway to see if there was any dog friendly seating, because it was 90 degrees outside and we wanted to go have a beer someplace afterward. We called, and asked, and no. No dogs. Not ever. They were very firm and clear on that. Okay, fine, we'll come some other time, I guess. Months later, we gave it a second chance, around happy hour on the way back from Bend to home. We were glad we did, because despite the spotty, loose service, the food (wings and 'little tofu') were very good! The atmosphere, depending on when you arrive CAN be very nice. The fireplace is nice, and the set up CAN be very comfortable. We decided we liked it. Lets visit the most recent experience, shall we? Superbowl Sunday. 2015. We expected quite an unruly crowd, however we wound up popping in, again on the way back home from Bend, just after the game had ended (bitterly, for most). The place was (seemingly) winding down. The game over, a gentle music was now playing. We found a place in the corner that was a bit calmer than the hoard of people at the front of the bar who were still enjoying their wines and beers and socializing, if you can call it that. Suddenly, a man who we presume is one of the owners, goes drowsily lumbering across the bar to the karaoke area, and cranks up some of the most horrid pseudo jazz I have ever heard in my entire life. Unfortunately, the largest speaker in the house was directly behind us. Now, the music man noticed this. He didn't care. Wine glass in hand, he headed back to the bar to shmooze. Then, back to the already booming awful music to increase the volume yet again, and put it to the song he needed us all to hear. Wine glass, hand, shmooze, increase volume, repeat. Finally, a woman who I assume is another owner/manager, asked him to turn the music down as it had reached a level that was preventing conversation among the customers, so he did. And then resumed his routine of lumbering across the room to crank it up and dictate a new song the moment she was out of view. She didn't seem to notice this when she returned. Not even when we moved clear across the room, having still not been served. Oh, did I not mention that? With this wonderful host and hostess on duty, there was only one girl waiting on everyone there. To watch the music man obsess over the songs and volume was absolutely maddening. It caused a feeling of anxiety, and was anything but a laid back environment to kick back and have a beer in. But the best part is yet to come. As we're deliberating walking out before even finishing our meals (some 45 minutes after ordering and having just barely been served), we watch in disbelief as one of the girls who apparently work there brought in their 100lbs mastiff, which freely made his rounds through the dining area, indoors, while people ate their meals. Now, I have no issue with dogs in the dining area. I know, however, that there are boundaries on this matter. I also recall the absolution on the phone about no dogs on the premises, period, in the summer time when we wanted to know if there was any seating area that allowed dogs. Apparently, if you work there, your dog can visit all the guests in the dining room, no problem! Unprofessional, uncomfortable, undeniably a nope. We will not be returning. This was round three, and two out of three times were MISERABLE experiences. We will spend our money at Zig Zag Inn, El Burro Loco, or Wraptitude. All good places, all with FAR BETTER service. read more

This place is great! We moved to the mountain last year from Texas, and I was super happy to find the brisket mac and cheese on the menu. It's AMAZING. I live pretty close to skyway and go here A LOT! It's so much fun, the love music the gorgeous outdoor seating. Not too mention the food! It's so good. The truffle fires are amazing and the ludicrous sandwich is a must! They also have hand-crafted cocktails (the tart-cherry old fashioned is my fav) and local rotating beers on tap. The ribs were awful. Very dry and tough and the rub they used merely sat on top of the meat. Granted they brought out BBQ sauce, but not enough to cover the meat. You are provided with a butter knife to cut the ribs, but because they were so tough, it was virtually impossible. The Mac and Cheese was 'grainy" to the palate and lacked any flavor. The cost for 2 adults for 2 half rack of ribs and Mac and cheese was $50.00. I would definitely not recommend eating here. We did tell our server and that's pretty much as far as it went. This place is adorable! Came up here with my boyfriend and we both got mac and cheese with pulled pork added. We both agreed that we didn't like the bread crumbs, but other than that it was amazing. The food there is great and I always love stopping in for food and a beer after a hike, but I will not be returning. Today I went in and was chatting at the bar and the people working there kept scolding us for our language saying that it was a restaurant. I have never in my life been told to watch my language and be threatened to be kicked out over saying "ass." Give me a break! The owner is nuts and shouldn't serve alcohol if she is going to throw a fit over adult language being used at a BAR. It was ridiculous. read more

The Buffalo Hot wing were burnt and Dried out..oner priced for 8.50 you get 6 burnt dried out not even juicy peices of little tiny chicken wings ..and 2 little tiny celery sticks served in a UN appealing plastic red basket..and on happy hour it's 2.00 off and it still isn't worth that even for 2.99 I would of felt ripped off because they were horrible. Our whole experience here was so disappointing! We were staying in Welches for the weekend and needed a place to eat dinner. We saw that skyway had awesome reviews so we decided to check it out. When we walked in the server let us know that there was no more seating outside but we could sit inside. We didn't realize that there was live music outside which I feel is a large part of the fun experience here so to find out later that we missed out on that, was unfortunate. I ordered a drink and it was WAY too strong and I had to wait quite a while for the drink. We ordered our food and then waited an HOUR AND TEN minutes and when we finally did get our food, everyone's food was cold and our orders were wrong. Mind you, while we waited, table after table, were getting their food and we had been there much longer. The food was good but again, it was cold and the buns on our sandwiches were soggy! Our server, Matt was great and made sure to keep checking with us to let us know our food would be out soon so I feel that he was doing his best with the cards he was dealt last night. The manager was making rounds to tables and asked us how everything was and I was honest and told her we waited a long time and everything was cold and all she said was that they should have told us it was going to be a long wait... Then it came time for the bill! So here at Skyway is you are a group of six or more, 20% gratuity is included and they do not split checks. There was 6 of us and our server was kind enough to split the check three ways (3 couples) however, we all paid 20% gratuity on each of our tabs and ended up paying way extra. In my opinion, you should t be required to pay 20+% on poor time management mediocre service and cold food. At that point we had been there so long and were annoyed so we just said forget it and paid the difference and left. Basically, the food here is subpar and they will rip you off if you try to pay separately. We may have just come on a bad day, but I would be cautious of their tactics. read more

Absolutely some of the best pork ribs we've had in awhile. Smokey, tender, meaty goodness. No need for sauce. These ribs don't need it. A rack and 1/2 fed three of us. All sides are extra. Our granddaughter wants to go back tomorrow... She's giving up her favorite, hot dogs, to come back. That speaks volumes. Great pour too! read more

Fantastic food. Outstanding service. We sat at a back table during the winter and could hear the kitchen crew having a great time. Happy Cooks = Great Food. Our service was prompt and attentive, but no hovering. Our food was sooo good. And considering I was planning on dining at Timberline (I advise checking out my review on them before you head up there) and spending twice as much, the bill for 4 adults that ordered almost everything on the menu was under $100, and that was with drinks. It may not look like much from 26, but visit here in summer if you want to be stunned by their outdoor seating area. read more

The wait staff is always super cool, the cook staff makes the most incredible food and the environment is the best. They're usually playing live music and they have an indoor and outdoor stage. Nestled in a giant hut off Highway 26, Skyway is a somewhat hidden gem when it comes to good grub near Govy. Every time I go, I swear I make a new friend. It's a great place to watch games during the day, they have lots of live music, and they're usually pretty packed. The decor is weird and awesome at the same time, and the food...oh man, the food. The mac and cheese is tasty and rich. I had the seafood chowder which was also delicious. Don't waste your time eating at the resorts...EAT HERE. You'll never go back to resort food (unless you're too lazy to come here). read more

heading down the mountain? Hungry? I would not pass up this place! we popped by after a very active morning on the mountain and needed food, this was a random spot that turned into a very happy accident. pretty funky decor in this place but I love it! if you would mix what your grandmas hous looked like in the late 70's with a rummage sale that is what skyway looks like in the best way. our waitress was wearing some sort of German bar wench garb to commemorate Oktoberfest, there was a accordion player and a few drunk silver foxes doing the hoky poky. If the food was terrible all this would have still made me wanna come back, for the sheer enjoyment. Luckily the food was AWESOME. $1 for soft pretzels with the yummiest cheese sauce.Great beer selection and of course as the previous reviews stated; the yummy-ist Mac and Cheese ever! so gooey and just down right sinfully good. Their BBQ tofu is incredinoms, they have a decent beer selection; their outdoor patio is a great place to kick back, stuff your face, drink some beers, and (occasionally) hear some good tunes. THE OWNERS DO A GREAT JOB with the bands and entertainment they choose. everything on the menu is great and I come here 2+ times a week and they never have a bad night.
